It honestly felt like it had been an entire lifetime since Ashley had been to the performance center, and to an NXT show that was just a regular taping, and not a Takeover event, but now that she and Vincent would hopefully be spending more time together, she was going to make it a point to visit more. “You know I used to drop by all the time, but since I moved back to North Carolina when my Dad got sick, it’s been harder and harder. I’ll be there the week of Christmas though, so I’ll stop by to see you do your thing. Hey, Lina and I are having a little Christmas party while I’m in town, and you should totally come as my date, it will be fun and a lot of your boys are coming already, I think.”

Lexi and Vin’s mom had always had this special bond, and it was so crazy because even if Lexi and Vin hadn’t really been a legit couple back then, his mom was still always so amazing to her. “I haven’t been back home since the last time we had a show there, so I’m really missing everyone. How crazy is it going to be when everyone from school sees us together? You know, everyone used to say back then that we were meant to be, and I guess they were right.” There was no other place Lexi wanted to be than with Vin for New Years, and hell, every holiday from here on out. “I actually am going to have a few weeks off around the holidays, since I won’t be back until live shows start again, so you know what? We should do something special for New Years Eve! Maybe go to Times Square, or Vegas or Cali!”

Mercedes still wasn’t sure how she felt about this whole having a bodyguard thing, because in her opinion, she could take care of herself, and she just wasn’t sold on the idea of having a stranger not only travel with her at all times, but be living with her as well. Whoever this man was, at least he was on time arriving to her house, and Mercedes just had this vision in her head of what this individual would look like, and she expected him to be huge, not very attractive, and very Braun Strowman like, so needless to say, she was shocked as hell when the complete opposite of that was standing on the other side of her front door, and one of the most attractive men she’d ever laid eyes on, was there instead. “Uh, hi. Are you Vincent? I’m Sasha, I mean Mercedes, I mean, you can call me whatever you want, I guess.”

Nattie was asking me about why I looked so tired and I had to bullshit my way out of telling her the real reason why I couldn’t fall asleep last night,” she explained and relived the awkward conversation in her head. The last thing she wanted to do was tell her friend about what she and Vincent were doing because there was no reason for others to know. Mercedes pushed herself up onto the crate and took a deep breath. Her body ached and all she wanted to do was lay down in bed and sleep for a couple hours or maybe a couple days. That latter sounded really nice right about now. “What have you got planned tonight?”

Even if he hadn’t gotten her hair wet, Leah still gave Vin the biggest pout ever, as she playfully pushed him away from her. “I’m not riding anything with you, you jerk! How dare you get water on a Princess’s face!” It had been far too long since Leah had this much fun with anyone, because towards the end of her relationship with Will, everything was just so toxic, so it was nice to spend time with someone, and not have to worry about walking on eggshells, and she really could see herself spending more and more time with Vincent, and something really special happening between the two of them. “Do you know how to drive one of those things, babe? Because I sure don’t, and I’m not trying to die today! But sure, I’m down, as long as you don’t kill me.”

               Mercedes never once thought about their conversation over the last few busy weeks in her life. For the first time in a long, long time she was able to swing by the Performance Center before she would once again be heading off overseas for yet another tour. Mercedes was mid-conversation with Kairi Sane and a few of the other girls when she saw Vincent talking with someone near one of the vending machines. She decided to play it cool. The last thing she wanted was to interrupt him mid-conversation and be rude. Instead, Cedes acted so nonchalantly about the whole thing. Excusing herself from the conversation, she let her hair free from her hat (because having all that purple hair down would make her more easily noticeable) and went over to the vending machine to grab herself a water. There was no way he couldn’t see her and if he didn’t want to chat then it wouldn’t be a problem to her.

Everything Vincent said about his mom, made Mercedes more and more convinced that she was in fact going to be making the trip to Orlando, but she was going to try and text the older woman herself, once Vince was all into watching the movie. Thank god Mercedes was excellent at playing it cool, and she just gave Vin a small shrug, when he asked her why she was asking about his mom. “I was just wondering how she was doing, and all of that. She hasn’t texted me in awhile, so I was just curious. Oh babe, I made some cookies as well! Let me go and get them, so we can have some while we watch the movie.” This was the perfect opportunity for Mercedes to text Vin’s mom, but surprisingly, she didn’t even have to do that, because there was already a message on her phone from his mother, letting Mercedes know she’d gotten the tickets Mercedes had sent them, and that she and Vin’s grandma would actually be arriving that night. This was absolutely perfect, and Mercedes had no idea how she was going to contain her excitement, but she was still playing it cool, once she made her way back into the living room, with a plate of cookies. “Baby, we have to make a quick run to the store later on tonight. I need to get more wrapping paper. I um, ran out this morning.”
