Title: Sugar Free (1)
You watch Ellie and Dina rush down the street with a few other scouts. You were on your way to the cafeteria to drop off the lunch bread before starting the dinner load when they tore off. "What's going on?" You park the lined wheel barrel with Maria and the kitchen cooks.
"Joel and Tommy went missing." Maria braces herself on the counter. You pass her a special bag from your pack. She takes the bagels graciously.
"I hope they come home safe." You help the kitchen staff unload the still warm loaves and bagels. You then run back and grabbing the birthday fruit pies you made for a few of the kids' birthdays that landed on this day. You wanted to be sure their families had a good time with them.
-
You always keep a pot of hot chocolate ready for the local kids running around and playing in the snow. A few run in and laugh, calling out to ask if you're in. You bring out the coco and fresh soft pretzel snacks you try to keep on hand. They thank you politely before taking seats Ellie helped you restore at the newly stabilized tables.
"Are you staying warm?" You bring in little cups of freshly done cheese dip. A recipe one of the mother figures from your old settlement taught you.
"We try, then Ellie and Dina rough us up," one of the boys pouts. You brush the snow off his cap.
-
You clean up after the kids, starting your last batch for the day. Ellie special requested bagels. You take the small hike back to your house down the street from the bakery. You clean with soap and warm water, running your cleaned glass shard over the fuzz starting to come back over your mound. One last wash and rinse before jogging back to the bakery in a clean change of clothes.
You start the dough, thinking of Ellie's boobs as you knead it. Yes, you were jealous of the kiss she shared with Dina, but you knew she would always come back. She was as addicted to you as you were of her. She wouldn't ever admit it, but the way she lets you pin her against the wall in your bedroom says more than enough.
You shape the dough into rings, yank your pants down, spread your juice on the dough, then drop them on the baking shovel before putting it back in the stone oven.
-
It's dark when they get back. You shut down the shop and left the bagels on your counter for Ellie to collect. You were waiting in the seating area when she rode up, Shimmer waiting patiently as she retrieved her goods. "We have a new girl. WLF escapee."
"That sounds interesting. Where did you find her?"
"Joel and Tommy picked her up from a hoard. We helped clean up." Ellie smirks, shrugs like it was nothing. "It was awesome."
"I bet you were awesome," her cheeks flush and you fix her ruffled collar. "So, you and Dina?" Her head tilts, the smug look gone.
"So uh, you saw that, huh?" Her feet shuffle.
"I did. Was it a one off, or are you taken now?" You cup Ellie's cheek so she keeps her eyes on you.
"It was a one off. I um, I liked it, but her and Jesse are probably getting back together. So um, yeah." Ellie scratches her jaw. You watch her long fingers pick at the skin.
"I'll make you breakfast. Early shift?"
"Sounds- Yeah, sounds great!" Her lips tug upward, but you can tell she's forcing the smile. You press a kiss to the corner of her mouth. Her cheeks are red again.
"See you then cutie," you wink, drop your hand so it slides down her shoulder and bicep, and let her leave flushed.
-
Ellie comes in as you're working on the breakfast bread. You made her a special loaf to munch on for the road. Behind her is who you assume is the newbie. "Goodmorning ladies," you greet politely. Ellie takes her bread with a wave, running to her horse and Joel.
"Morning," the tall blonde greets. "I'm Abby." You offer your hand, she shakes it firmly.
"Beautiful name for a beautiful girl," you smile. She's taken a back, scoffs.
"Shut up," she turns, but you catch the blush on her cheeks.
"Make me," you challenge. She glares, but says nothing. "Come sit, have something to eat. You must be starving, you got here long after the kitchen closed." You bring her a fresh loaf from the heated stone.

if there were a Steven Universe-themed cafe, what would you want on the menu?
Ya know, this would be very difficult to narrow down, even with you saying it would be a whole café with a Steven Universe theme so it wouldn't have to share with any other theme! Having made well over 150 Steven Universe recipes myself, I know there's a LOT to choose from, and it would be hard to get a good highlights reel down.
However, if you're gonna go with a Steven Universe theme in a café, you would have to be able to appeal to casual fans as well as deep Steventhusiasts. That means you would want the well known classics as well as stuff that the hardcore fans would remember, but you would also want stuff that's Gem-themed and fits the vibe without necessarily referencing specific food that's been eaten on the show! But of course, you also wanna have a good mixture of nutritious/filling food and snacky/desserty food. So you'd need a good variety!
We'd have to call our café The Best Diner in the World, of course.

BEVERAGES
Sugar Shock Shut Down
Fountain Soda
Coffee

Fresh-Squeezed Lemonade
Apple Sidra
Fancy Orange Juice
Hot Cocoa
(You could put some of the beverages in cups or cans labeled "Guacola" and "Durian" but I recommend against actually making a drink with those.)
Tumblr media
DESSERT
Donuts (Fire Salt optional, in cute tubes. Use Pop Rocks for sizzle!)
Cookie Cats
Ube Roll Slice
Star-shaped cookies
Steveny Gem-themed cupcakes
Tumblr media
KIDS' MENU
Crying Breakfast Friends meal
Noodles and Butter
Hot Dogs
Juice Boxes (Durian design)
Macaroni & Cheese (Maybe let them mix it themselves, so they can be served macaroni & nothing)
Pepe's Burgers Kids' Meal
I have no idea what I would order. It would all be too tempting!
You'd have to have a performance stage up in the corner with a banner over it that says BEACH-A-PALOOZA and have local acts or open mic stuff sometimes, and stock the place with games (some SU-themed!) as well as having maybe a little gift shop with Steveny trinkets and coffee mugs. Yesss!

I love bread 🍞
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I used to take pictures of every loaf i baked. I feel like I've become so jaded about having fresh baked bread. I'm so lucky to have the time and ability to bake bread and I don't want to ever forget that. I want to celebrate all the littlest things that make my life feel magical.
My ducks are a testimony to my love of bread. I have Quackers, Pretzels, Breadstick, Bagel, Pita, and Pizzadough. Their little quacks and big feet slapping the ground as they waddle behind me never fails to make me smile. Even on those mornings I'm achey and sore and don't feel like getting out of bed, I hear them quacking out the window as they nibble the clover, waiting for me to bring them breakfast.

These hamantaschen are a fun and unique crowd-pleaser that will surely have people going back for seconds and thirds. They have a golden pretzel exterior, everything-bagel spice topping and a smoky hot dog center. After all, what could be bad about fresh dough and hot dogs? Nothing.
There are a few things to note about making these pretzel bagel dog hamantaschen to perfection.
You must boil them: The only way to achieve that distinctive chewy texture and classic taste of a pretzel is with a baking soda and a boiling water bath. Be sure not to skip this part. Just a 10-second dip before baking is all it takes, and it makes a world of a difference.
Pinch tightly: To ensure the hamantaschen hold their shape while baking, be sure to pinch the corners of the dough tightly.
Keep the rise short: The dough requires only 15 minutes of rising time. Rising for longer will result in delicious, but more puffy hamantaschen.
Wait to cut your hot dogs: Depending on the dimensions of your cookie cutter, you might end up having more or fewer than 40 hamantaschen. I recommend cutting the hot dogs after you have formed all of your hamantaschen. That way, you know exactly how many hot dog slices to cut.
Everything topping: The everything topping is optional and you can either make your own, or buy some from Trader Joe’s. You could also try just adding sesame seeds, poppy seeds or dried garlic.

with the beginning of a new sourdough starter (1st picture: she’s in her infancy, basking in morning light, discard yet to come), i thought I’d post my 2023 bread select.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
many have been featured on feelingnom before (and of course this is not all the bread i’ve made) but these guys deserve there time i the sun.
Firstly is a fairly standard white bread baked in a dutch oven. Beautiful insane crust. Ode to the crust fr! but unfortunately I think lacked interesting flavor. Such is life without starter or sponge or biga or even whole wheat flour. I don’t even think I used bread flour, just AP.
Second is bread machines greatest failure and success. Whole wheat bread as per bread maker recipe and this was not the loaf i expected. So pretty, though! But really hard to eat and cut. Firm. Weird.
Thirdly, bagels!! And a blast from bleached eyebrow past. This was my first time making bagels and they kinda turned out tasting like soft pretzels, for whatever reason. Either way so yum and an awesome reconciliation brunch (this can be refuted by my hell family if you secretly hated the bagels please tell me).
Fourth is a whole wheat sesame bread shaped like a heart. This is just cute :)) and yum :)) Made for tea time and enjoyed with friends and jam.
Fifth? Baguettes! Made for picnic and ava dad birthday and friendship and to accompany cheese. Guys we made cheese. And these baguettes are cool but our cheese is cooler sorry to say. Also these were awesome because they were warm fresh baguettes but also i think the flavor could’ve used work :/
Sixth! Bitch. It’s red bean challah. God. This was epic. Think about this often.
Finally cornbread :)) been in a corn state of mind recently. We went to a recipe book store and ava purchased the corn bread gospel so it’s been almost a religious figure in my life and the lives of many. Also this spread is so awesome. Bread so cool—bread so yum!

the entire foods section + any oc you really wanna talk more about!! :]
hmmmmm i haven't talked about my best lesbiab Fila in a while, they're up!
🎂 BIRTHDAY CAKE — when is your oc's birthday? how old are they? what are their sun, moon, & rising signs (if known)? what about their tarot card, ruling planet, & ruling number (if known)? do they fit the typical traits of these sun, moon, & rising signs?
Fila's birthday (which I've just decided now) is April 1st, and in most AUs they're 25 years old. Sun is Aries, moon is Libra, and rising is also Aries. I have no idea about the rest of it lmao
🍝 SPAGHETTI — what is/are your oc's favorite food(s)? / 🍰 SHORTCAKE — what is/are your oc's favorite sweet(s)/dessert(s)?
She's got a real sweet tooth, especially for things like pastries, marzipan, and cakes. Their absolute favourite is probably caracs, little pies with chocolate, cream, and green fondant icing. If they had to pick something savoury, it'd be Bündnerfleisch - a kind of cured and dried beef.
🍦 SOFT ICE CREAM — what is/are your oc's favorite ice cream flavor(s)?
Mint choc-chip icecream, all the way! They will get into a debate with people who say it tastes like toothpaste. It's about as heated as they're able to get.
🍔 HAMBURGER — is your oc good at cooking? are they good at baking? which one do they prefer?
For someone who loves sweets so much, they're actually pretty awful at baking! Cakes never rise, cookies come out overbaked, and her attempts at making bread were... questionable. Much better at cooking, though! She's a real champion at making assorted stews and hearty soups, and taught herself how to make dumplings on girlfriend request :) They'd like to be good at baking, but it's just not in the cards.
🥯 BAGEL — what does your oc's typical breakfast look like? do they usually eat breakfast?
Some kind of muesli, with yoghurt and honey and some fresh berries. And chocolate chips on weekends, as a treat! They never miss breakfast, unless disaster strikes and they're out of muesli. Which never happens.
🥪 SANDWICH — what does your oc's typical lunch look like? do they usually eat lunch?
Lunch varies. On workdays, Fila will go with a very typical packed lunch: sandwich, bit of fruit, some crisps or pretzel sticks, a little cakey thing for the soul, and water. Other times, it could be whatever they've got in the fridge, possibly a bunch of leftovers stuck on a plate, possible salad with some chicken. Very healthy, very normal. They don't tend to skip lunch unless it's a workday and they either get too busy to stop, or can't find somewhere private to take their mask off and eat in peace.
🍛 CURRY AND RICE — what does your oc's typical dinner look like? do they usually eat dinner?
The previously mentioned soups and stews are pretty frequent, if she's the one cooking. Sometimes their girlfriend cooks, and they get treated to something a little more complex and French. Sometimes it's takeaway, if neither of them can be bothered to cook. They never go to restaurants, though; can't take the mask off there, so can't eat. Never skips dinner, it's the perfect time to take a moment and reflect on the day (or have a nice conversation with the gf :3)
🍸 COCKTAIL GLASS — what is your oc's favorite alcoholic drink, if they can drink?
Fila doesn't really drink. They don't enjoy the taste, and since they work in a hospital, they see far too much of the bad side of alcohol. Sometimes they'll have a little fruity cocktail thing at home, but it's only ever one and with a miniscule amount of booze in it. Doesn't bother her much; she doesn't have an ID anyway.
☕️ HOT BEVERAGE — does your oc prefer coffee, tea, hot chocolate, milk, water, or some other drink? how do they like to take this drink (ex. coffee with milk, hot chocolate with whipped cream, a specific kind of tea, etc)?
LOVES coffee. Like, every kind. Doesn't matter if it's the purest lil espresso shot, or the frothiest milkiest most-hypercustomised frapp, they'll devour it (in moderation, of course). Also enjoys hot chocolate (as long as it's made with milk, not water), but isn't the biggest fan of tea. They've had a couple of teas they've enjoyed, like lemon and ginger, but as a rule she tends to stick with coffee.

Marzana, Marzana
Marzana, Marzana - Chapter 2
Pairing: Josh x original female character
Warnings: SFW, drinking, implied sex
Eventual pregnancy and angst, we got slow burn, we got fluff. I didn't proof read this, bc idgaf.
Word count: 1.7k
Hadley woke up to the ac buzzing loudly. The was too cold, so cold it felt damp in the room- but her skin was sticking to itself in the start of a sweat under the blankets. She looked at everything that needed to be packed and loaded back up into her car.
She rubbed over her face, she could tell it was puffy, a slight headache forming under her eyes and behind her ears. It was still early, she never really slept well after drinking. Hadley figured some continental breakfast aka, microwaved pastries, a selection of unripe fruit, and maybe a waffle maker awaited her in the room off the lobby. Coffee could only do good at this point.
She put on a the clothing from the night before, plucking if off the ground one strewn item at a time.
*
Jake had left at the first sign of the sun. He quietly slipped out and pushing his sunglasses up the bridge of his nose. He stared out the window of his cab, slowed, empty, and shoulders slumped— from the alcohol the night before he reasoned, as he watched the streetlights steadily pass by. Some flickering off as the sun continued to rise.
He entered the house with little attempt at stealth. He knew Josh wouldn’t be awake until much, much later.
*
The smell of strong fresh coffee followed by a waft of chlorine greeted her as she stepped off the elevator. Hadley gulped down some coffee and ate a poorly toasted bagel, she grabbed an apple and a granola bar in for later on her drive back when she’d surely be painfully awake and aware of how nauseated she was from her hangover.
The elevator dinged as it hit each floor, it still had several floors before the lobby. Hadley sighed and looked down the hall where she could see the double glass doors to the bright blue hued pool. She gingerly dug her thumb nail into the red delicious apple.
*
Jake let his head loll to rest on the back of the patio chair, one leg widely crossed over the other, his guitar lazily across his front, and a cigarette hanging out of his mouth. He strummed, absent minded as he watched two birds chirp and argue at each other in the otherwise quiet crisp morning.
He heard the sliding door open, but didn’t bother to look up. Josh plopped down in the chair next to him, but quickly hopped up realizing he had sat on a puddle of morning dew gathered on the cushion. Somehow- he only managed to spill just a sip of coffee from his mug as he did so.
Jake lifted his head only to take the cigarette out of his mouth and set it in the ashtray. They sat quietly, Josh’s eyes drooping with sleep, one hand gripping to his coffee mug for dear life, the other arm slung over his head and the back of the chair.
They couldn’t be more different in that moment. Jake was still dressed in his mostly black garb from the night before, heavy denim jeans, Chelsea boots, jewelry tangled on his neck, messy long hair, while Josh was in an old white tank top, boxers, flip flops and a silky embroidered robe- his short hair swaying like a dandelion in the breeze.
“Did you get her number?” Josh finally broke the comfortable, but unusually long silence between the two.
“No.” Jake kept his gaze straight ahead of him and pretended to tune a string.
“Hm…was she cool?”
“Yeah.” Jake shrugged.
“Hm.” Josh hummed taking a sip of coffee.
*
Hadley floated on her back to the middle of the pool. Her hair cascading and whirling around her. She stared up at the ceiling, letting her vision become blurry.
*
She turned on the heater her ride back home. The morning was slightly colder and offered the October feel she craved. A faint highway fume hung in the air and seeped into the car from the window Hadley had cracked.
*
Sara flipped through the records sitting pretzel legged on the floor. She had several piles building up on the floor dedicated to alphabetizing the vinyl. Hadley laid out on the couch with one hand smushing a cold rag soaked rag to her forehead and the other cradling a still-almost-overflowing bloody mary on her hip. Her dog, Burl, had managed to position himself under her knees, head snaking out and resting on her shin.
“In general, think you’d like their stuff.” Sara concluded her analysis of Greta Van Fleet’s discography that she had went off on, after Hadley told her about last night over a homemade brunch. “Are you going to talk to them again?”
“Wha? Oh no. I don’t know. I don’t think so. I didn’t get that vibe.”
“Hm.” Sara hummed and went back to sorting.
Jim Croce played quietly from the corner of the room.  There was a popping and bit of fuzz before the next song sung on: Operator. It was a common album to play around the house. A go to for herself and her late mother. She didn’t usually draw such a close association with her mom, it was just a Sunday afternoon album, but today she felt an especially big hole in her chest.
*
Jake pushed his shopping cart through the aisles, it seemed to have a mind of it’s down, swaying with a lazy front wheel. He didn’t have the patience for it tonight. He took the package of oysters from the butcher at the deli and forcefully slammed them into his shopping cart.
Even the radio annoyed him. Dreams by Fleetwood Mac seemed to be blaring directly above him wherever he stopped to look at the shelves. He cracked his neck and let out a deep sigh. Jake pulled out his phone to the notes app to a makeshift grocery list amongst other ramblings.
He turned the corner and metal on metal clattered as his cart bounced back slightly. He wanted to be annoyed, but knew it was his fault for not looking.
“Sorry-“ Jake began, and his eyes met with the victim of the crash. “Jita, hey.”
“Oh, hey.” She said almost breathlessly. Both of them had tears welling and had to break their gaze.
They had agreed not to talk or see each other since the break up. They’d done a good job so far, only texting a few months in to return each other’s stuff. Even then they didn’t meet up to do so, it was a drop it off at the door while the other was out at work situation.
Jita tucked some hair behind her ear and crossed her arms.
Jake approached her fully from around the corner, awkwardly shoving his hands in his pockets, “So, how have you been?”
“Good. Good. And you? The tour was good?”
“Yeah, uh yeah all good.” He lied and wove his fingers between the metal of the cart.
There were a million souvenirs he wanted to get her and a million funny stories he wanted to tell her about his three brothers. A silence fell over the two, the dance beat of song kept a steady and pace. In the stillness they both realized they had almost identical shopping carts.
Jita let out a single chuckle trying to disguise a sob. Jake mimicked her realizing and feeling the exact same thing.
“I still can’t believe you eat those.”
“These?” Jake picked the oysters, “Gotta keep a party staple on hand.”
They both tried to laugh again, it was shaky and choked. Jita finally gave in and wiped the corner of her eyes.
Jake gripped at the cart and rocked it a little as he stared at the woman in front of him. Nine months felt like an eternity, he couldn’t help but keep track of every single day without her. He let go, blood rushing back to his knuckles, and engulfed her in a hug.
There they stood in front of the buzzing and florescent lit freezer section. Both of their heartbeats racing strong and steady into each other’s chests. Jita didn’t want to let go, she didn’t want to risk it being their last. Jake buried his nose in her hair, taking in the smell of her conditioner.
“I can make you some.” It came out muffled into the top of her head, but he felt her nod under him.

A notification banner on Josh’s phone popped down letting him know he had five more minutes on social media apps. He flicked it up with his thumb and kept scrolling. He stopped when a line of suggested follows entered his screen.
Hadley.
In the small circle her face was perfectly framed. It was a grainy picture, bursting with warm streaks of sunlight, possibly caught on film, one corner of her mouth smirking, her big eyes looking at something out of frame, a bright green and out of focus vine hung in the foreground.
Josh clicked it and rolled to his stomach on his bed. He rested on his elbows as he glanced at her profile. His hand slipped and he was viewing a reel on her profile: a dog was barking and weaving between the legs a giant, slightly disfigured, pink elephant with ray-bans sculpture— he clicked off of it.
“Shit, shit shit.” He mumbled he had no idea if people could see who watched reels.
There was a moment; it didn’t matter now either way. He opened the reel back up and viewed the rest. The next slide had a sign that read “Welcome to Paradise, Ohio” and under it Hadley had typed, “I wish I had as much confidence as Paradise Ohio did naming itself.” His thumb clicked the right side of the screen.
Now a video of a woman with a head wrap walking in a butterfly sanctuary played. A bright smile light up her face as one butterfly landed on her. Hadley could be heard in the behind the camera giggling as the woman in front of her scrunched her nose. “It tickles!” The older woman exclaimed as a butter fly walked over her temple to her head covering.
The last clip was Hadley giving a high five to a sign with a large black and white hand that read ‘palm reader’ in arched letters over it.
He bit his lip as he hit follow.

Garlic herb cream cheese is tangy and full of flavor. It’s the perfect spread for bagels or served as an appetizer with fresh veggies or crackers. It takes 10 minutes to whip up and will be the hit of your next party! An appetizer is the best part of a party in my opinion! I can’t get enough of all of the snack foods, especially this time of year. If you are looking for the perfect appetizer for your next party, you’ve got to try these Jalapeño Poppers with Bacon, these super simple Ranch Pretzels, and these amazing Homemade Mozzarella Sticks.

Garlic Herb Cream Cheese
This savory garlic herb cream cheese recipe is easy and so full of flavor. It’s perfect on a vegetable tray as a dip or spread on top of a bagel. It is a tried and true recipe at my house, and we make it all the time. The best part is that it takes literal minutes to whip up and everyone loves it. It’s a great way to dress up your average cream cheese dip. If I’m hosting a party, I am definitely going to make a charcuterie board and some party dips! I probably make crack chicken dip the most often, which is perfect served with crackers or rolls. This garlic herb cream cheese is the perfect thing to serve alongside all of that because it’s great with every kind of bread. If you like garlic, this is the recipe for you!
Ingredients in Garlic Herb Cream Cheese
This garlic herb cream cheese is full of delicious ingredients like dried herbs and cheeses that combine in the perfect way. Open up your pantry and double check that you have these dried herbs on hand. If you don’t, you will want to grab them from the store because you’ll want to have these herbs in your pantry anyways! They are great in so many other recipes. You can find the measurements below in the recipe card.
Cheeses
- Cream Cheese: Cream cheese is tangy and creamy, and the perfect base for a spread. - Parmesan Cheese: Parmesan cheese is sharp and full of flavor. It really ramps up the savory notes in this spread.
Seasonings
- Dried Parsley: Dried parsley is kind of sharp and acts like a citrus would, because it brings out the other flavors in this spread. - Dried Chives: I like to use dried chives because using dried ingredients means the dip will last longer. If you want to use fresh chives you can! Just know the shelf life of this spread will be shorter. - Basil: Dried basil adds a flavor that actually tastes sort of like mint, and it really brightens up the spread. Thyme: Thyme is my favorite herb! I just love the way it has almost every flavor you can think of all in one. It’s perfect in this spread. Dill: Dill is best known for the flavor it adds to pickles. It’s the perfect pair with the tangy cream cheese. Garlic Powder: Garlic powder is a great addition to the spread. It’s savory and sweet and OBVIOUSLY this is a garlic spread so it’s a must! Onion Powder: Onion powder is an easy way to add lots of flavor to the cream cheese. You could add fresh red onions for a nice texture and flavor, but the powder works just as well. Salt and Pepper: This helps to ramp up the flavors in the cream cheese.

This garlic herb cream cheese is the perfect recipe to whip up when you need something easy and fast. It can go great along with so many different dishes because it can add flavor and variety to any meal. Even my kids gobble up anything with this spread on it. It will become your new favorite thing! - Add Ingredients: In a bowl add the softened cream cheese, parmesan cheese, parsley, chives, basil, thyme, dill, garlic powder, and onion powder. - Mix: Then mix with an electric hand mixer until smooth and incorporated. - Season and Enjoy: Add salt and pepper to taste and then serve over bread or crackers.

Additions and Variations The best thing about garlic herb cream cheese is that you can switch it up anytime and make it entirely new! You can add and take away ingredients to make it fit whatever you are serving it with. Here are a few different things I’ve tried that I think you’ll love. - Fresh Herbs: Fresh herbs can add such a great pop of flavor. Adding fresh herbs can make this dip spoil faster because the fresh herbs have water in them and have not been preserved. So only add fresh herbs if you are planning on using it all up in a few days. You can add fresh basil, rosemary, thyme, and dill. Or anything you feel like! Fresh chives are always a great idea because the flavor goes perfect with cream cheese. - Minced Garlic: This IS a garlic herb cream cheese, so you can absolutely ramp up the garlic by adding fresh garlic! I like to use minced garlic from the jar because it’s easy, or you can grind up some fresh garlic in a mortar and pestle and enjoy all of that fresh garlic paste. - What to Dip it With: You would be amazed at how awesome this spread is on a piece of garlic bread! You can dress up a bagel or top a crostini. This dip is great with any kind of bread or cracker.
Tumblr media
Storing Leftovers This garlic herb cream cheese makes great leftovers because the flavors get stronger over time. It is a great one to make for the week! Here is how you store leftovers. - In the Refrigerator: You can store your leftover garlic herb cream cheese in an airtight container, and then store it in the refrigerator. Technically it will last until the expiration on the cream cheese. I like to eat it up before then! Other Cream Cheese Inspired RecipesCream cheese is such a great building block for amazing dips, spreads, and desserts! I love that it can be sweet or savory. It’s so creamy and tangy, and adds so much flavor to any meal. Here are a few of my favorite cream cheese inspired recipes that you just have to try! In a bowl add the softened cream cheese, parmesan cheese, parsley, chives, basil, thyme, dill, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix with an electric hand mixer until smooth and incorporated. DISNEY’S CALIFORNIA ADVENTURE:  Festival of Holidays 2022
Tumblr media
Recently, my family and I had enjoyed a day at the Disneyland Resort, where we attended the 2022 Festival of Holidays at the Disney’s California Adventure theme park.  The festival ends on January 8, 2023.  Below is a selection of the food and drinks I had enjoyed at the festival:
DISNEY’S CALIFORNIA ADVENTURE:  FESTIVAL OF HOLIDAYS 2022
Tumblr media
Pork Belly Adobo - This dish consists of braised pork belly, served with Garlic fried rice, chicharron pieces, and topped with green onions.  A first bite of the pork belly revealed a strong vinegary flavor.  But once I ate it with the rice and green onion, the strong vinegar flavor receded somewhat, and this proved to be a delicious selection.
Tumblr media
Lox & Everything Bagel Nachos - Although not a big favorite of mine, I rather liked this dish of bagel chips, cream cheese, diced smoked salmon, everything spice, onions, tomatoes, and capers.  I would have preferred if the bagel chips had been softer, but the smoked salmon was deliciously fresh.
Tumblr media
Mickey Shaped Gingerbread Cookie - Although I found the sprinkles irrelevant, I really enjoyed this rich gingerbread cookie.  I also thought the ginger flavor was strong and perfect.
Tumblr media
Churro Toffee Coffee Cold Brew Latte - This coffee latte with Joffrey’s Coffee & Tea Co. Mexico Origin Blend Coffee, demerara, cinnamon sugar, vanilla bean, and almond milk garnished with churro syrup, whipped cream, and chocolate toffee crumbles was delicious, but very familiar to me.  At the moment, I cannot recall when or where I have drunk something similar before.  There is an alcoholic version of this drink with coffee liqueur.
Tumblr media
IMPOSSIBLE Meatloaf with Mashed Potatoes - This was a surprisingly first-rate dish with meatloaf made from IMPOSSIBLE ground meat and served with mashed potatoes, classic gravy and crispy shallots.  Honestly, the meatloaf almost tasted like real meat.  Almost.
Tumblr media
Pumpkin Layered Cheesecake - I really enjoyed this rich and delicious dessert made from layers of New York-style cheesecake, pumpkin gooey cake, and graham cracker topped with spiced Chantilly and a chocolate decoration.  The mixture of cheesecake and pumpkin flavors struck me as first-rate.
Tumblr media
Brisket Slider - This mini sandwich consisted of smoked brisket with smoked onions and horseradish ketchup on a pretzel roll.  Yes, the horseradish ketchup came off as a bit strong on the first bite, but the brisket was . . . O-M-G!  It was simply delicious and tender.  It was some of the best brisket I have ever sampled.  Even the pretzel bun was nice and soft.
Tumblr media
Peri Peri Chicken with Yellow Jollof Rice - This dish was served at the Flavor of Wakanda booth but is not considered part of the official festival.  Nevertheless, this was the best thing I had eaten at the festival tjhat day - grilled chicken flavored with the peri peri seasoning from Mozambique and served with the heavily seasoned Jollof rice that originated in the Senegambian region.  Superb!
If you had attended the 2022 Disney’s California Adventure Festival of Holidays, what were your favorite dishes?

I'm giddy because I love this kind of debate. So there are breads that are boiled. Bagels and pretzels come to mind. If boiling makes a pasta than matzo balls are pasta? I've seen dishes where you just saute the hell out of fresh made pasta noodles, no boiling. Hell there's no boil lasagna noodles. And there are dishes that are boiled bulgur or barley with herbs and spices, not far off from risotto or other other rice dishes.
And I'm tossing a new contender into the ring via chat -
Tumblr media
Which I actually feel isn't right but I need to think harder on that one. IS mochi pasta?
does rice count as a noodle?
