They’re relics of a different time, he and the group he now calls his family; a time when synthetics were plan b, and plan a was... Well, it was them. An eventually failed attempt at harnessing the human body’s own regenerative properties, which resulted in one of their test groups - kids who’d needed money, and had been promised a lot of it in exchange for becoming lab rats - being frozen.

Never quite reaching the end of puberty had taken some getting used to.

She, by contrast, is the face - or voice, as those billboards declare - of the company. So they’re an unlikely pair to find in conversation with one another, and yet here they are. He’s intrigued to say the least, but tries to seem more impassive than he really feels.

He’s slipped behind the bar to procure himself a drink, only to find himself near the patron whose fashion sense has been something of the topic of the evening backstage. Noting her own empty glass, he gestures for her attention with the bottle he holds in one hand. “A few of my girls have been admiring your outfit. Do you need a refill?”

        she groans as the other girl grabs her arm and drags her closer, casting a forlorn look behind her to the DJ booth — the very same DJ booth where batfish has been playing the black parade on repeat for what feels like hours now. she catches his eye, and the bright smile on his face is all she needs to know that is isn’t one of his misguided choices ( as most of his interesting song choices usually are ). no, he knows EXACTLY what he’s doing and he’s loving it. 

        she groans again as the song restarts, throwing her head back overdramatically with a sign as she plays up her distaste, though she puts no actual effort into stopping her friend into pulling her closer. a smile sneaks its way through her facade when she hears liebeswooosh start to sing ( a rather kind way to describe the yelling she’s doing into silla’s ear ), and she plasters a mock serious expression on her face, pressing the back of her hand to her mouth in an attempt to muffle her laughter. 

       ❛ one song, okay? one. ❜ she says, poking her in the chest sternly, her serious expression quickly dissolving into a grin as she takes lebi’s hand, spinning her around as they go join in the cacophony of teenagers screaming emo music, letting the angst consume them.

          “Hello there.”  Dee Dee speaks very grandly — too grandly for the kitschy, crowded diner in which she is, reluctantly, waiting for her post-matinee meal, but long experience has taught Dee Dee that acting like a dignified and important celebrity at all times is the key to being treated like one. Also, the key to not apologizing when she nearly runs somebody over in her eagerness to cut to the front of the line. She tilts her head so the bright fluorescent lights will catch her at the most flattering angle and stares imperiously at the woman ahead of her. “Hello. Excuse me, I need to get by. My call is in an hour and I simply cannot wait any longer to get my food.”

Phil is back at their hotel with Isobel, having encouraged her to go and get a head start on visiting people without them - and while she’d been reluctant to leave them at first, she has to admit he might have had a point.

“I could help you make him jealous, if you like.” His tone is somewhere between playful and entirely serious, and he lets his gaze shift from the man trying (somewhat unsuccessfully, much to his amusement) to hold Texas’ attention back to the blonde whose table he’s found himself at.

They’re two unfamiliar faces, but Micah knows the type. Men who come in with one pretty thing on their arm, only to abandon them at the earliest opportunity to try their luck with... Well, with anyone else. He tends to take pity on the abandoned party in these situations; anyone who is granted individual attention from the Master of Ceremonies tends to be seen as important in the eyes of the rest of the patrons, and he presumes that when your date would rather pay attention to a scantily clad performer than you, your ego could do with that sort of a boost.
