Gordano Masonic Lodge 6244 who meet in the Clevedon Temple here in the Province of Somerset.

Recently held a magnificent double first initiation ceramony for two NEW Brothers, Bobby Corney and Simon Jones.

The ceremony was masterfully lead by Paul Hinkley who set the bar high, each and every officer following on and produced a brilliant double in fine style in front of a packed temple with many high ranking provincial members from this province and other provinces.

Rob Collins the NW Reps of the Adair Club welcome both new initiates into the club and presented both men with their official pin badges, he has also arranged a visit this week for them and other Adair Club Member to visit a Gloucestershire Lodge to see a first degree ceramony in another province.

A wonderful festive board was had with lots of laughter, jovialness, inspirational speeches and toast, the free raffle produced much needed funds in the gift aid envelopes as the brethren gave wholeheartedly for local charities.

A truly magnificent evening spent with good worthy Men and Freemasons welcoming two new brothers into Freemasonry, words or photos really do not do this night justice.

I don’t think I’ve published this in a while, but what better time than now to share with any new followers and friends. The image is the frontispiece from the Apprentice book. It’s a pen and ink rendering to capture the essence of the first degree and its connection to the paths and sephirot on the tree of life in the mysticism tradition of the kabbalah. Needless to say it was a challenge to capture so abstract an idea in a single #illustration. We just held our lodges wonderful monthly social meet up, this time for drinks and laughter in a local pub, we also went to the venue where we are holding our Las Vegas Elvis Cabaret Night.

Wives, partners, friends etc were all made welcome, for we believe a strong social lodge makes a strong Masonic Lodge.

The spirit of the evening was very jolly and we enjoyed not only our lodges company but other lodges joining us too, we even signed up a re joining un attached member and a new candidate.

Gordano Lodge is where you will find a welcoming hand, camaraderie and brotherly love with charity at its core.

Somerset Province The New Masons evening held in The Nailsea Temple.

WOW what a fantastic night where mere words or photos just will not do this event justice.

Firstly I must say what an awesome job our provincial team did, each and everyone of them speaking about Freemasonry with inspiration, passion and eloquence, with some jovial humour too, I was truly humbled to be here as a mentor with many of my candidates and their wives/partners.

Each speaker received a rapturous applause after each talk, the Q&A section was most enjoyed as the Province team answered every question with great knowledge of Freemasonry and more.

The Buffet was first class as always.

The Adair Club, our light blues club of Somerset was well represented by our chairman and reps as well as many new members and guys yet to be initiated.

There is one photo of a young french lady, the partner of a young EA, she was in ore with the temple up stairs, she had a sea of questions as did all the wives and partners, but that photo really sums the night up for me with the Awesome Masonic WOW Factor.

Many of us finished the night off in the bar for a social drink, with lots of questions and new guys and gals chomping at the bit wanting to become members right away, but like with all great things it takes time to join.

A huge well done to all who attended what a fantastic night of Freemasonry and Community.

Severn Lodge 4399 who meet in the Nailsea Temple here in the Province of Somerset.

As the NW Rep of The Adair Club, the official light blues club of Somerset Freemasonry, I have arranged a fraternal visit with a quadruplet of my Initiates and Fellow Crafts to see my dear friend and brother WM WBro NP and all the boys at Severn Lodge 4399.

Actually we're all there as the WM personal guests, this meeting is a very special demonstration of the FD TB being performed by special guests from Severn Lodge Warwickshire on their Fraternal visit.

With the kind permission of the WM there are a few surprises in store for the new light blue brethren too, in true Adair Club Style, I did an official Adair Club pin badge presentation for our new brothers welcoming them into The Official Light Blues Club of Somerset Freemasonry, this had a rapterous applause especially from our awesome dark blues and province who support us well.

The ceremony was first class, the TB was explained so eloquently by the visiting dignitary from Worcestershire, the festive board was quite simply awesome, I especially loved the sea shanty of Severn Lodge by the sea, for which everyone was in fine voice, I cannot wait to visit there again.

Sat reading my summer 2023 issue 62 of FMT Magazine with a nice mug of Rosie Lea (Tea) right there on the front cover is Somerset's very own David Medlock our Past PGM, now an Assistant Grand Master up at The United Grand Lodge of England (UGLE) up at that there there Londonshire.

David is a wonderful man and fantastic Freemason, as my PGM he inspired me to try harder and encouraged me personally greatly, especially in my role as the head of the Somerset Branch of The Masonic Fishing Charity MTSFC www.mtsfc.org.uk.

FMT is always a fantastic read and I always wait with anticipation for it to land on my matt, it's wonderful to read about Masonic history real history not that nonsense you read on line, hear what my fellow Brethren are up to not just here in the UK but all over this wonderful world of our, I especially love it when I read of people I personally know, the charity work we do I consider second to none, I have many back issues if anyone want to read them drop me a line.

Woodspring Masonic Lodge 8791 who meet in the Yatton Temple here in the Province of Somerset.

Recently held a wonderful Sunday Lunch, I had the greatest honour to attend.

The WM WBro GH and his team put on a fantastic afternoon for a packed house, there was a magician who kept us all entertained, the free bingo was alot of fun, we all chucked donations into a charity pot and raised some much needed funds for a local charity for SEN kids.

The Food and wine was awesome, the company exemplary a jolly fine Sunday lunch enjoyed by all.

WOW MASSONICALLY still a practicing active mason, a founder member of the lodge and his wife were the guests of honour as they celebrated 71 years of Marriage, outstanding, there was a masonic widow celebrating her 72 birthday too.

A truly wonderful day spent with wonderful people who just happened to be Freemasons and their Wives, Partners, Family and Friends.

Always an awesome time to be had at Woodspring Lodge.
