Taking inspiration from other gardens!

        Story-time! I was visiting my friends house one day, and we were just chilling on his couch using our phones, snapchattin, instagramin, just normal teenage things. Until he came up with the idea of going up to his roof to watch the sunset settle. So I agreed and went up with him. When we got upstairs I noticed the garden set-up his family has made. It amazed me how they made good use of the little things. Instead of buying expensive pots, they used old crates and built them to look like plant holders. That was exactly what I wanted to do, because not only will this give my garden a vintage image, but it will also recycle the wood material instead of being environmental waste.

      This is me standing on top of the lid of a crate. I have some of these at home. In order to make good use of them, I will remove the screws and take out each individual piece so that I cant them bond them into the shape I want.

        Here I am standing next to a complete crate which was made made using a piece of plywood. It was then cut, sanded and re-shaped to allow the flowers to fit inside it and give a slim/vintage look to the garden, and spacious enough for the roots to spread freely.

        After observing the different simple methods and cheap materials people can use in order to excel in their making of a garden, I have chosen to take into consideration these ideas and use them in contribution to my garden. In future blog posts, I will be seen constructing one of the crates and then fitting the plant into it. 

        As for now, I have planted new flowers and plants into different pots to complete the setup of my porch. I must then move onto the front yard where the majority of the garden will be located.
