EASY IN OR LEAP into FREELANCING? Read the story of why I cut my hair very short when I started freelancing. I used to have my day job as a graphic designer for many years and was doing illustration as a side hustle in the nights. I dreamed of going freelance and working as a illustrator–I even had some small client assignments! ✨ After a while of doing illustration jobs on my free time I got burned out and ended up giving up. Starting my business as a side hustle was wayyyy too much hustle to me, and ended up dropping the idea. Leaping in full time into freelancing actually worked for me. HEY, first months weren’t easy! And for someone used to a steady income, it is rather challenging! But things leveled up pretty quick–because I was investing all my energy into making it work. Going freelance triggered a bigger change in my life. Together with that I was moving cities, meeting my current husband and radically cutting my hair! (These pictures are the ones I did for my freelance website at that time) SWIPE to see how long my hair used to be. To me, going freelance eventually lead to a better version of my life where I do work I really enjoy, and that means a lot to me. What about you? Have you tried going freelance as a side hustle? Did you just quit and get your practice going? Would love to hear your story! #freelance #freelancer #freelancelife #freelancingadvice #freelancecoaching #bigleap #artiststory #thebigleapclub #leapnow #martinafloracademy (at Studio Martina Flor) https://www.instagram.com/p/CHz9Uvhj7qX/?igshid=125r1j9fqg1tq

[A USEFUL SELF-CONFIDENCE EXERCISE & 📝 A FREE WORKSHEET] When planing on going solo, most aspiring freelancers tend to think that they are starting from scratch, because it’s something NEW. However, you’re never starting from the ground up–you count on all the experiences you have gained so far and you have the most powerful tool ever: YOUR TALENT ✨ When I started freelancing, creating lists was a helpful tool to build my self confidence. These lists made me identify what my goals were (WHAT I WANTED TO DO) and which were my practical tools to get there (WHAT I COULD DO). Swipe up to see how these lists looked like. While what I wanted was to do exclusively lettering and type design, taking graphic design and illustration jobs (things that I COULD DO) helped me transition (and finance!) my way up to lettering and type (things I WANTED TO DO). That gave me some peace of mind during the first months and allowed me to make mindful decisions for my future ✌🏼 ☮️😎 👉🏼Do that exercise yourself. Download the worksheet for free (click on my profile) and realise how many tools you actually have as a creative💪🏼 Let me know if it was useful! IMPORTANT REMINDER: keep the list of WHAT YOU WANT TO DO always present and visible. This is your north! #freelance #freelancer #freelancelife #freelancingadvice #freelancecoaching #goals #tools #thebigleapclub #leapnow #martinafloracademy #selfconfidence #freebie #freeworksheet (at Studio Martina Flor) https://www.instagram.com/p/CHsfrb-jYC7/?igshid=18aqiymofxi28
