the low sounds of students chattering and moving about the common room acts as a lulling sound as you sit on the floor against the couch with Fred, George and the trio while they all talk about your plans for the holidays.
Fred and George talk lively about their plans of mischief while Ron groans in dramatic misery. Harry and Hermione laugh along with the twins' wild ideas.
you yawn, leaning to the side as you rest your head against Fred's thigh who was sitting behind you on the couch. your eyes droop, the melodic sound of everyone's laughter and chatter mixing with the low sounds of the common room noise slowly lulling you to sleep.
Fred barely thinks about it as he moves a hand down to stroke through your hair as your head rests against his thigh. he's still engaged in the conversation, absentmindedly combing his fingers through your messy strands.
George smiles to himself as he catches glimpse of the sight, a know-it-all grin on his lips.
the conversation dwindles after a while, everyone growing tired after the long day. Fred in the meantime has moved from the couch to the floor beside you, your head in his lap and his fingers never leaving your hair. Hermione bids everyone a goodnight, leaving for the girl's dorm as she could barely keep her eyes open.
the twins keep up quiet conversation with Ron and Harry, reminiscing about old pranks or soddy teachers.
George makes a teasing jab about how 'Fred's knees will surely kill him in the morning after sitting too long like this', but Fred shakes his head tiredly. he doesn't mind the dull ache he'll indeed feel, as long as you're at peace and catch some sleep.
besides, he would take any pain if it meant to have you this close to him.
George laughs quietly, standing up with low cracks of his own knees. he makes one last remark along the lines of 'i swear you two are so blind', before he heads up the boy's dorms to sleep.
Harry laughs along at Fred's slightly red cheeks, getting up as well. he bids Fred a goodnight, heading off to his dorm.
Fred sighs tiredly as he looks down at your sleeping form. damn his already aching knees, you look too cute to care about the dull pain. he strokes a stray strand of hair from your face, mentally kicking himself for still not having made a move.
though, he muses, if only you'd stop making him stutter and trip over his words with those damn eyes every time he'd try.
tomorrow, he nods to himself. knowing that your full attention will make him a stumbling mess once he tries once more. but this time, he huffs as he closes his eyes, this time he'll push through and finally get the words out.

fill the void || fred weasley
SMUT. MINORS DNI. 18+
It felt odd in a way, being alone for the first time.
Usually you were surrounded by your fellow Slytherins, the smell of cigarettes and cologne something your nostrils had grown accustomed to. The sound of vicious insults or bitter rants making a nest in your ears. The sight of scowls with liquor in their hands, their knuckles typically bruised and bloody.
But right now, all of that was gone. The air in the courtyard was clean, the breeze blowing past you providing you with the smell of the earth. Your sights were centered on a giant oak tree, as well as the moon that dimly illuminated the area below. It was an odd change, your surroundings being so settled. You couldn’t help but wonder what you would’ve become if you hadn’t been placed in Slytherin. Maybe yellow would’ve suited you better.
It wasn’t that you despised your housemates, even if they were a group of misfit toys. Mattheo protected you, Theo tutored you, Draco was always glued to your side. It wasn’t them that troubled you. It was what wearing the sickening shade of green meant. Submission to the dark lord. Following the ideology of pureblood nonsense. Especially being one of the only prominent girls, there was always the lingering question who’d you marry and reproduce with.
Yuck.
“Am I interrupting?”
You didn’t need to turn around. You’d recognize a Weasley’s voice anywhere. “Unfortunately not,” You admitted. You hated to admit you knew which Weasley twin it was, a lanky Fred Weasley plopping down beside you on the concrete steps. He stretched out his long legs, mere inches separating both of you. “Is there a reason you’re perched out here instead of doing shots with your friends?” Fred asked. How could you explain why? Oh yes, I am having an existential crisis because of the fact my dress is emerald. Want to go inside and split a chocolate frog?
“Where’s your other half? Didnt think you two separated,” You quipped, brushing off his question. Fred took the hint, leaning back on his hands. “Currently snogging Angelina Johnson,” He answered. This caught your attention, your head snapping to look over at him. “The chaser that wiped the floor with Blaise last season?” You asked. Sometimes you forgot how small this dreaded University actually was. Fred nodded, shrugging. “Aggressive on and off the field, just the way George likes em,” He replied.
You snorted. “Ahh yes. Makes sense a Weasley would enjoy being slutted out,” You snickered. It was too easy of a jab. Fred began to man spread, his long legs in your personal bubble. “I wouldn’t be so hasty little serpent. A few of us know how to put a brat in their place,” He smirked. The cocky motherfucker winked, heat dashing across your cheeks. You must be in a different dimension. There’s no bloody way a Weasley made you blush. “You’re cute when you blush,” Fred praised. He couldn’t help but notice how good you looked in the moonlight, the beams highlighting your features.
“Are you complimenting me Weasley?” You questioned. You avoided his gaze, trying to ignore the fact your heart skipped a beat. “Obviously not, i’m flirting with you,” Fred replied, unable to control the smile creeping across his lips. You were just so easy to tease. “What makes you think you can flirt with me?” You asked, turning your head to look over at the ginger. He shrugged, meeting your firey gaze with ease. “Perhaps it’s because we’re in the same boat, sitting out here alone in a bloody courtyard while the yule ball is less than five hundred feet away,” Fred explained. You audibly scoffed. “Weasley’s can’t afford a boat,” You spat.
Fred chuckled at your insult, your venom harmless to him. “Considering you’re out here I think it’s safe to say your boat has sank. Guess we’re on the same island together then,” He replied. You couldn’t help but find his facial expression smug. “Great,” You grumbled. You rested your chin on your knees, contemplating your life decisions. Fred sighed. “Well, if my presence really isn’t that valued i’ll relocate,” He said. He began to rise to his feet, your body doing a one eighty. You didn’t realize your hand was gripping his wrist until it was, desperately holding him in place.
“Sit down Weasley. I-,” You paused, looking up at the ginger. “I’d prefer it if you stayed.”
Fred grinned down at you mischievously, resuming his place beside you. “Figured you’d say that. Just wanted to hear you say it,” He gloated. You slapped his arm. “You’re unbearable. You know that don’t you?” You grumbled. Fred couldn’t help but laugh. Your annoyance was adorable. “You seem to like it,” He replied. You frowned as he stood up in front of you. “Do not,” You argued.
“Do too.”
“Do not!”
Fred extended his hand in front of you. The faint sound of classical music could be heard over the stillness, the wind having faded out. “Care to dance?” He asked. The choice was standing right in front of you, demanding an answer. You could say no and continue moping on the stairs. You could say no and go back inside, all eyes on you once again. Or you could say yes, potentially having a good time with a boy you didn’t belong with. Dancing with a Weasley? Draco would have a field day with this one. But Fred’s hand never looked more appealing than it did in that moment.
Hesitantly you took his hand, allowing him to bring you to your feet. Even in heels he easily towered over you, the ginger not hesitating to bring you close to his chest. “You know you can drop the bad girl act with me, I won’t tell,” Fred said, guiding you back and forth. You were an awkward dancer, despite the endless ballroom dancing classes your parents put you through. “It’s not an act,” You argue. Fred looked down at you, his face painted like he knew you. Like he could see right through your hollow shell.
“Sure it isn’t. And i’m not the best prankster in Hogwarts,” He quipped. You slowly spun you around, giving you time to catch up as you almost tripped in your heels. “You’ve really got quite an ego, don’t you Weasley?” You asked. Fred grinned as he pulled you back close to him. “Thats a bit hypocritical, don’t you think?” He asked. You glared up at him. “I think not,” You argued. Even though your words were laced with venom, you couldn’t deny how much you enjoyed his touch.
So gentle but so assertive, guiding you. Your mind strayed away, imagining him guiding you a different way. Guiding you to take his cock, to ride him until the sun came up. “Hey? Are you listening little serpent?” Fred asked, his voice coming back into frame. You blinked a few times, trying to regain your composure. “Sorry, what?” You asked. Fred slowly guided the dance to a stop, the song ending. You couldn’t help but wish it’d last forever. “I was asking what you’re thinking about,” He said.
You could feel yourself turning red, your filthy thoughts flooding to the forefront of your mind. You felt tongue tied, unable to confess your dirty fantasies. “Ohh, I see,” Fred said. You couldn’t bear to look at him in the eye, embarrassed enough to be in this position. You felt his slender fingers slide under your chin, guiding you to look up at him. You allowed him to guide you, his eyes boring into yours. You liked that, allowing him to guide you. Even if he was supposed to be bad for you, his touch put you on cloud nine.
“Do you like that? When I guide you? Take control?” Fred asked, his voice dropping an octave lower than before. You could’ve dropped to your knees in an instant. “Maybe I do,” You replied, not wanting to cave, not just yet. Fred leaned down further, pressing his lips against yours. His lips were warmer than you thought they’d be, filling the void inside of you. The void that craved approval and validation. His lips provided all of that and more. He guided you towards the giant oak tree, pinning you against it.
The sharp bark scraped at your back, a groan escaping your lips as Fred’s refused to stray from yours. You raked your hands throw his hair, pulling at the roots roughly. Fred whined into your mouth, smirking as he pulled away. “Cute,” He murmured. His eyes flickered behind you, ensuring no one was around. “As much as i’d love to make you squirm, we can’t do much here,” He whispered. You pulled him back to your lips, sliding your tongue into his mouth. You couldn’t get enough, your body craving him.
“That eager, are we?” Fred asked, pulling you back in for another kiss. You gently bit his bottom lip, pulling it towards you. “Fuck me, at the very least Weasley,” You ordered weakly, your body betraying the attempt at dominance you were spewing. Fred grinned mischievously. “Turn around for me pretty girl,” He purred. You did as asked, his large hands pushing you against the tree. You could hear the clinking of his belt, your core throbbing in anticipation.
His large hands pushed up your dress, pulling your panties to the slide. “You’re lucky we’re in the courtyard, otherwise i’d make you beg and scream for me to fuck you,” Fred purred. You felt his tip brush up and down your folds, a moan escaping your lips. One of Fred’s hands flew to your mouth. “Gotta keep quiet little serpent. Dont want anyone to hear you being a whore for a Weasley, do you?” He taunted. He pushed himself inside of you slowly, your body feeling like it may split in two.
“You’re fuckin soaked for me,” Fred mused, placing a sloppy kiss against your shoulder. Your moans were muffled by his hand, your walls struggling to accommodate his size. “I’m bigger than Malfoy aren’t I?” He asked teasingly as he bottomed out inside of you. You grabbed onto his wrist, yanking it away from your mouth. “In your dreams Weasley,” You spat, whimpering as he bucked his hips ever so slightly. Fred began to suck at the side of your neck, harsh enough to leave a hickey. “Dont leave marks on me,” You argued, moaning as he began to thrust into you. Fred released your neck with a pop, satisfied as the skin began to turn purple.
“Whys that? Afraid your boy toys will find out you’ve let me in between your legs?” Fred asked, beginning to pick up the pace. His pace was brutal, his hand flying back over your mouth to muffle your sinful noises. “When they ask tell them. Tell them how I ruined you. How a Gryffindor made you cum in a courtyard like a dog in heat,” Fred huffed. He continued to viciously snap his hips into yours, his cock abusing your g spot with each thrust. You moaned his name into his hand, gripping one of his wrist and the tree for support.
“You’re so fucking tight, so perfect,” Fred groaned into your neck, his breath hot against your skin. He removed his hand from your mouth, his hands taking their rightful place on your hips. “I’m going to make you cum on my cock. You understand me? You’re going make a mess for me,” Fred ordered. His orders were hypnotizing, your legs beginning to shake as he held onto the fabric of your dress. You could feel the knot inside of you tighten, a familiar feeling coming.
“Please make me cum Freddie, fucking please,” You pleaded, your orgasm coming faster than you’d like to admit. Fred chuckled, fucking you mercilessly against the tree. “There she is, there’s my sweet whore. Go on, cum for me,” He panted. You squeezed his wrist tightly as you came, euphoria washing over you as you came on his shaft. Your legs trembled, threatening to give out on you at any moment. You felt Fred’s hips stutter, the ginger pulling out of you.
He guided you onto the ground, your bare knees hitting the dirt below. You stuck out your tongue, allowing Fred to cum inside of your mouth. “Holy shit,” Fred moaned, watching as you swallowed every last top. You both sat there for a moment, your highs subsiding as you soaked in what you had just done.
“Hey y/n?”
“Yeah?”
“You wanna grab a butterbeer sometime?”
“Shut up Weasley.”

Healing
Pairing: George Weasley + Reader Word count: 1k Summary: You comfort George after a big fight (The fight in the fifth book with Draco Malfoy) Warnings: Injuries? I think that is all, but lmk if you notice anything Hey! if you think this didn't completely suck, feel free to check out my masterlist
I take in a deep breath and then knock slowly at the boys’ door. No response. I knock again, and instead I hear a grumble. I take it as a sign to slowly open the door, I take a peek from behind it, and George is sitting on the edge of his bed, elbows on his knees, and head in his hands. Fred, on the other hand, is lying on the floor staring up at the ceiling.
“Hey.” I murmur, and George tilts his head to see me from in between his fingers. He doesn’t smile at me like he usually does, and it makes me believe that this time is worse than the rest. Fred, sits himself up on his elbows, and he looks as though he’s in much better shape than George is.
I purse my lips and look back at George again. I take a few shy steps towards his bed, and then sit down beside him. He shifts a bit to the side allowing more room for me. I look back at Fred again, but it turns out he’d already read my mind and left the room after giving me two thumbs up.
I place a tentative hand on George’s thigh, and it makes him lift his head up from his hands. I could see the way his face was contorted, frowning, scrunched up brows, and his jaw clenched. I note the obvious, “You’re pissed.”
I almost feel stupid saying it because of course he would be. Malfoy was out of line, more than usual, but instead of a few insults this time it resulted in a fight, and George got expelled from playing Quidditch for the rest of the year, and to make matters worse this is his last year. He replies, “I’m not pissed, I’m hurt.”
It’s my turn to frown because the words that that git Malfoy said couldn’t actually be getting to him, could they? I voice, “George, you couldn’t actually care about what he said. He was just saying it to get a reaction out of you. His best insult was calling you a weasel, he’s an idiot for Merlin’s sake!”
“Doesn’t make any of them less true.” He protests. I’m baffled by his response, I say, “No, they aren’t-”
“Yes, they are.” He snaps, and he scrunches his face up, eyes shut in regret at raising his voice. He cups my hand as an apology, brushing his lips over the back of my hand before explaining, “He’s right. We are poor, and the clothes we wear are hand-me-downs-”
I interrupt him, “I will not go a second longer listening to you talk about yourself, or your family that way. Money doesn’t matter as much as you’re making it seem. And surely, you’re not going to let comments from an idiot who cares more about blood status and money than what a person is actually like get to your head.”
“But, wouldn’t you like to have more than what the money that I have can get you?” He implores, and I give him a weak smile. Raising my hands to cup his face, my thumb grazing the scratch that he has across his eyebrow. I say, “And we’ll have that, George.”
I teased him a little more, “You still are planning to open the shop, aren’t you?” A small smile breaks on his face, and he even lets out a small chuckle. The air feels lighter around us, and George leans closer to me to press a kiss to my lips. I sigh, the feeling of it never gets old.
I look down at his hands, and frown at the sight of the blood. George was the one who gave out most of the blows and punches. He was too angry after the fight, and left stomping to his room. I wanted to insist that he go to Madame Pomfrey for his injuries, but I could tell he needed some time to blow off some steam, that’s the reason why I waited before talking to him.
“Do you want to go to the Hospital wing to heal those?” I ask, and he shakes his head, looking down at his knuckles, presumably, remembering that they were bleeding. He rests his head on my shoulder, and my shoulder is weighed down. He hums, “I’d rather not face anyone for a while.”
“Don’t worry, I can heal them for you. Not as good as Madame Pomfrey, but it’ll do for now.” I decide, bringing out my want from my robes. I start to wave my wand at the cracks in the skin, and mutter small enchantments. The small ones fade away, but the larger ones leave small scars on the skin. I rub my thumb over his hand to signal that I’m done, and George twists his head to leave a small kiss to the base of my neck.
I raise my hand to lift his head from off of my shoulder, and hold his chin, raising my wand to cast a spell over the scar that slashed across his eyebrow. I bite my lip at the sight of it. George questions, “What is it?”
“You look so good with that scar.” I admit, feelings my cheeks heat up at the confession. He smirks at me, and I can already hear the teasing coming from a mile away. He grins and says, “Such a shame for you that it’ll go away in a few days…of course, I can get into more fights, so you’ll never have to do without it.”
I hid my face in his chest in embarrassment and he wrapped his arms around me, laughing at my reaction. I mumble, patting his back gently, “Stay out of fights till we see what we can do about this Quidditch suspension, alright?”
He pushes me away from his chest to look into my eyes. He leans down and kisses me once, and twice and another one after that. He says, “Thank you.”

Some things were just facts, plain and simple; the sky is blue, two and two is four and you had a type.
“Another ginger I see.” Alicia murmured as you sat down across from her, pints of butter beer clinking together. Your eyes were locked with a pretty freckled boy by the bar.
You huffed even though she was quite right, this must have been the third redhead that you set sights on this year. “Well William got boring and,” You paused wrinkling your nose, “-pushy”
The Three Broomsticks was packed, the sounds of chatter and warmth guarding you from the icy cold of the blizzard that had swept through Hogsmeade. You and Alicia had joined the dozens of students seeking cover in the popular pub and quickly snagged a small table near a large fireplace where you now looked out on the sea of flushed faces and smiles.
“With your type it's a wonder your last name isn’t Weasley.” Your friend chuckled and you laughed.
“If I could have gotten my hands on Charlie, it would be.” You replied, your silly crush on the older Weasley brother lasting from your first year to what you were sure would be your last.
Alicia giggled, taking a large swig from her pint, licking the foam off her top lip. “Why not one of the twins then?”
“What twins?” A voice asked from behind you.
“She couldn’t be talking about us now could she, Georgie?” Fred jested.
“No no,” The other replied, “I mean what could Spinnet possibly want from us?”
Alicia rolled her eyes with great effort, “Trust me when I say I want nothing to do with you. As for my friend here, I don't know if I can say the same.” she said with a smug grin and you sent her a furious look.
Fred smirked, leaning over the back of your chair, his large palms ghosting your shoulders, “Is that true? Do you need something from us?” He leaned in even further, his nose brushing your hair, “from me?”
You began to look a bit red as he pulled away, “Please Weasley,” you managed to scoff “since when do I need things from you? In fact, I believe you still have my Charms notes.”
Fred had come to stand in front of you now, George joining his side, “It's just that your notes are so much better for writing Flitwick’s essay. ” He argued.
“You don’t even take notes.” You said, exasperated.
“Exactly” The twins replied in unison.
Alicia snickered beside you.
Chairs appeared and Fred and George sat. The table seemed half the size it was before as Fred's elbow knocked against yours.
“Made yourselves at home have you?” You spoke, wincing.
Fred just grinned and leaned purposefully closer, thighs now brushing.
You slid towards Alicia who was turning a laugh into a cough and set your eyes back on the boy with freckles.
“You headed to the Slytherin match next weekend?” Alicia asked absently.
“Of course.” George replied, “I’ve bet Lee a galleon that Malfoy catches a bludger with his nose.” he chuckled, “He reckons it’ll be his gut.”
You all smiled at the idea, no one hated Malfoy more than those on the Gryffindor quidditch team.
“We also have business to do.” Fred said, wiggling his eyebrows mischievously.
“You don't have any more of those nosebleed nougats do you?” You asked, eyes still across the room, “I’ve got to get out of Binns’ class tomorrow.”
Alicia's eyebrows shot up, you hardly missed History of Magic, or as you liked to call it, nap hour. “Why's that?”.
“No reason.” You mumbled, intently staring into your butterbeer.
Fred’s eyes darted between the two of you.
“Of course we’ve got some.” grinned George, oblivious, “2 sickles a pei-.”
“Or for free if you tell us what you're up to.” Fred interrupted, catching a strange look from his brother.
“I'm not up to anything!” You gasped with a bit too much enthusiasm.
Alicias eyes had narrowed to slits and Fred had never looked more unconvinced.
Your face began to grow hot and you found yourself wishing you had more grace in the act of lying.
“Oh come off it,” George said, “If she wants to snog Murphy instead of hearing about the seventh generation of goblin rebellions, who are we to judge?”
You were glowing pink now, sending a vicious look at George who had taken to sipping his drink innocently.
Fred looked appalled, his face contorted like he had just caught a whiff of something horrible, “Murphy!”
“Keep your voice down.” You hissed angrily, glazing across the room again to be sure he hadn’t heard, “I'm trying to keep it quiet.”
Fred was fuming, “Who wouldn’t, swapping spit with a git like that.”
You scoffed, pulling out a small coin purse, “Can I just have some nougat?”
“Nope.” Fred responded, voice suddenly ferocious, “We’re out.”
You were beginning to grow frustrated, “George just said you had some.”
Fred glared at you, “We’re out.” he repeated his nose high in the air.
You turned to George looking for help but he threw you an I’m-not-getting-into-this look and you were forced to round back on Fred.
You glared at each other for a moment before Fred caved, "Fine we’ve got some,” He huffed, “Three Galleons.”
Your mouth dropped, “George said 2 sickles!”
He crossed his arms, “They’re in high demand.”
You stood, chair flying back into the wall with a loud crack, “You’re a complete prick.” you said sharply snatching your bag and sweeping past Fred and over to meet Finn Murphy who was now standing to leave the pub.
“Well I think you handled that well.” Alicia said, grinning at Fred who looked as though he had been slapped.
George, who looked all too happy with himself for instigating such an interesting conversation, helped himself to the remains of your butterbeer as you and Murphy bowed out into the flurry of white followed closely by Fred’s glare.
“Looks as though she's gonna snog every redhead at school before you.” Alicia snicked.
“Yeah,” George snorted, “You might want to keep an eye on Ginny.”
Alicia giggled even harder, pressing a hand to her lips in an attempt to keep her drink in her mouth.
Fred could hardly hear them, too busy envisioning your latest with large boils all over his face or perhaps vomiting indefinitely.
Alicia managed to contain herself and shot Fred a sympathetic glance, “I've been trying you know, I keep bringing you up but she seems far more interested in Charlie.”
“Charlie!” He guffawed, “But he's been gone for ages!”
“Well he seemed to have made quite the impression.” Alicia chuckled.
“He was captain when she was appointed to the team.” George pointed out.
“Yeah when she was TWELVE” Fred gasped.
Alicia couldn’t help it, she had started laughing again, “Relax,” She spoke between breaths, “It’s just a silly school girl crush.”
Fred looked unconvinced and began to tap his heel incessantly against the floor.
“Take it as a complement!” She continued, “Charlie looks quite a bit like you, I mean you are related after all.”
Fred was not taking it as pleasantly as she suggested and began to rap his foot on the ground even faster, “We’ve got to do something.”
“We?” George snorted, “This is all you mate. I’m not the one in love with her.”
Freds ears grew pink, “I’m not in love with her!” he sputtered.
“Whatever you say.” Alicia spoke rolling her eyes.
The truth was that if Fred wasn't in love with you, he was so close he may as well have been. At the very least he had been pining after you for years and he had never been particularly quiet about it. In fact he was the opposite of quiet about it. His flirtatious remarks and dazzling complements were quite consistent. Unfortunately so was his coursing jealousy as you paraded around with boy after boy who was not him. Every year he swore would be the year. The year where you finally realized it was him you needed and all would be right in Fred's world. But time and time again he failed as you walked out the door with a different redhead. He was growing nervous, his seventh year was upon him and this may be his last chance before you were all carted off in different directions never to see each other again. The frustration of it all was turning him bitter.
That night Fred lay awake on his four-poster, staring at the ceiling venomously. What was it? He wondered, What was it that he didn't have that every other ginger you knew seemed to possess? Why was it never him pulling you into broom closets and meeting you after classes? What was he doing wrong? His thoughts spun until he drifted into an uneasy slumber.
By the time he arrived at the quidditch pitch for practice the next morning, the rest of the team was already changing into their robes as Angilina scribbled vigorously on the chalkboard in front of them, already changed and ready.
“Fred!” She shouted watching him try to sneak his way into the bustle of the team unnoticed, “What took so long? I was beginning to think I would have to send George back up to wake you.”
He shrugged, “Sorry Cap, I didn’t get much sleep last night if you know what I mean.” he winked at her and she looked sorely unamused.
You on the other hand perked up at the insinuation, finally looking at the twin who, in protest of his behavior the day before, you had been ignoring.
“She gets what I mean,” He smirked nodding towards you, “Up late with Murphy boy last night?” He asked viciously.
You flushed as the changing room filled with chuckles.
“Murphy?” Angelina asked, turning to you, “Isn’t he a bit,” She paused, “dim?”
You scowled at Fred silently before snatching your broom from the rack and marching so quickly out onto the pitch that you hadn’t even noticed you had hit Harry in the temple with its handle.
As Potter groaned in pain and fixed his askew glasses Fred looked over to Alicia who was shaking her head slightly. As the rest of the team slowly followed you out onto the field she and George made their way towards him.
“You’re an idiot.” Alicia groaned, “No wonder she won’t go out with you.”
George chuckled.
Fred glared at the pair, “It’s not my fault she insists on only snogging boys who are 'a bit dim.'" he spoke, mocking Angelina.
“I know that this may be hard to wrap your head around,” Alicia spoke sharply, “But maybe she went out with Murphy because he was, ya know, nice to her.” She then shouldered past the twins leaving Fred gapping at his brother desperately.
The day was crisp, the heavy licks of winter drawn in by a bitter wind. But the sky was clear and the sun was out, much to everyone’s appreciation.
Fred mounted his broom still angry, feeling foolish for upsetting you yet again as you stood with your back to him defiantly.
The whistle blew and the balls were released as the team kicked off, snow flying in all directions as you did so.
Fred's head was not in practice as it should have been but instead on you, watching you speed towards the goal posts with the quaffle already under your arm. You scored easily on Ron with a feign left.
Fred was so absorbed in you that he had completely forgotten about the bludgers, one of which was hurtling at him with frightening speed. With little time to react he swung his bat wildly and pitched the bludger in the opposite direction, which with a sickening feeling he realized was right at you.
He tried to shout but you must not have heard him over the howling of wind in your ears. Because when the bludger struck you heavily between the shoulder blades you were completely unprepared. Your vision danced as the air was knocked from your lungs. You were flung from your broom with a shriek and began to plummet.
Fred streamed after you, urging his broom towards the ground with a frightening speed. His Cleansweep shuttered under the immense pressure he suddenly held it in and never before had Fred wished so badly for Potters Firebolt.
He managed to get beneath you mere feet from the ground. The force at which you hit him knocked you both into the snow with a heavy thud, and there was a sickening sound as his broom snapped in two.
Neither of you moved for a moment, the snow settling around you and beginning to melt through your robes.
“Are you alright?” Fred asked and was struck with panic when you did not respond. He sat up quickly pulling you with him, your legs tangled together in the snow. He called your name desperately, hands holding your face as you lay limp in his arms.
Angelina landed beside the pair followed closely by George and Alicia both of whom were wearing nervous expressions.
“Y/n!” Fred shouted again, tears stinging his eyes, fear gripping his throat like a vice. He was moments away from shaking you when your eyes slowly peeled open.
“Fred?” You mumbled, confused.
The boy let out a barking laugh of relief and then dove into a hug, almost knocking you back to the ground.
Bewildered, you returned his embrace and realized quite suddenly how much larger than you Fred really was. You practically disappeared into his chest, his broad shoulders shielding you from the wind that whipped across the pitch. You felt frighteningly warm listening to his heart beat quickly beneath his robes. Your cheeks were hot as he pulled away from you and began to search for any look of pain or damage on your face.
“Are you alright love?” He asked again and was washed with relief when you nodded.
As you fully realized what was going on around you, you gasped, pulling the handle of Fred's broom out of the snow.
“Your broom!” You looked horrified, “Fred, your broom broke!”
Fred on the other hand brushed it off helping you to your feet and beginning to pat the snow off your robes, “It’s alright, I’m sure it's fixable.” he shrugged, “Listen, I am so s-”
But before Fred could finish his apology George burst between the two of you, “I am so sorry!” He spoke hurriedly, “The bludger caught me off guard. I swear I wasn’t aiming for you.”
You chuckled, giving George a pat on the shoulder, “I sure hope not, but 's not me you should be apologizing to anyway.” You said, “It's Fred’s broom that broke.”
George did not issue his brother any regrets and instead sent him a wink, whipping his wand out of robes and shouting “Repairo!”
The broom snapped back together and Angelina, who was desperate to get back in the air, looked to you, “You alright then?”
You nodded with a grin and turned back to Fred who was testing the strength of his brother's repair.
“Thank you so much Fred,” You gushed, looking up at him through your lashes.
The boy's heart skipped a beat, stomach lurching, “It was no problem really.” He breathed and miraculously found you in his arms for the second time as you lunged towards him.
“Thank you.” You murmured into his robes before disconnecting and swiftly boarding your broom again.
Fred watched you leave struck for a moment. Alicia shot him a thumbs up and a grin before he was able to clumsily climb onto his own broom and follow you back up into the air.
By dinner the story of your fall had been told and retold so many times that you were now said to have plummeted upwards of a hundred meters before Fred had heroically scooped you onto his own broom, saving what was sure to be your life.
In the great hall you kept getting asked if you were okay as down the table Fred got clapped on the shoulder and congratulated for his great save. He seemed to be enjoying the new story a fair bit more than you were.
Finn had come over to ask about you halfway through dinner but you found suddenly that he was no less than boring and he returned to the Hufflepuff table after a few short minutes with a look of disappointment on his face.
Fred watched this with such delight he was sure he was glowing. George -who he had been applauding as the best wingman one could ask for all day- poked him hard in the side and pointed down the table to where you sat. Fred turned to catch your eyes already on him. He winked exuberantly and you turned away with a scoff, but your cheeks had taken a rather deep shade of red.
He grinned so wide at George he thought his lips might split, “I mean this is some real progress!” He cheered, “Did you see that? She was staring at me!”
Down the hall you turned to Alicia, cheeks still pink, “Have you ever noticed how tall Fred is?” You asked so suddenly she choked on her pumpkin juice.
You stared at her curiously as she wiped her mouth with her sleeve smiling, “Oh yeah very tall.”
You hummed looking back down the table at the elder twin who was now laughing wildly at something Lee had said, “I guess I never really thought about it before.”
Angilina shot Alicia a glance as you were distracted and the two of them broke out into giggles.
“What?” You demanded though you were still smiling.
“Oh nothing.” Angilina grinned and you huffed turning back to your dinner.
You found yourself wishing Fred had chosen to sit a bit closer to you as you watched a group of girls across from him break out into giggles at something he said, “There's no way he's that funny.” You muttered knowing he in fact was.
Yet you couldn’t find yourself being all that jealous as he kept glancing up at you, as if checking to make sure you were still watching him and much to his delight you always were. His shoulders, you noticed from where you sat picking at plum pudding, were quite wide, his arms toned. It was no wonder that he had engulfed you completely out on the pitch.
How had I never noticed this before? You found yourself wondering. How had he managed to escape your list of potential suitors when he was so obviously perfect for you?
The thought struck you rather abruptly and while you would have liked to have sat with it for a minute, Alicia was standing and you knew it was time to head back to the common room.
As students began to flood from the hall you fiddled with the sleeves of your robes, thoughts full of brown eyes and freckles .
As if summoned, Fred appeared at your side grinning widely, “Hello.”
“Hey Fred,” replied Alicia.
“Have you guys heard the news?” He asked, throwing an arm around your shoulder. You tried hard not to blush and instead shook your head, staring at the floor. “Apparently, you owe me your life.” He was beaming down at you now and you found it hard to look away.
“Oh yeah?” You smirked, “And I heard it was actually you who hit me with that bludger.”
His smile disappeared only momentarily and you were happy to see it recover so quickly.
“Ah well, I figured Angelina wouldn’t keep her mouth shut.” He shrugged, “Though I swear if I had a choice I would have knocked her off her broom instead.”
And for the first time that evening jealousy took you strongly, “Oh yeah? I suppose she would have been a bit more fun to catch then?”
Fred looked startled by your bristly reaction, “Nah,” He responded, “That would have been Georgie’s job.”
You were satisfied with this answer and felt yourself leaning against him as you began up towards the tower.
George was delighted to see you still tucked beneath his brother's arm when you reached the common room. He called you over to where he sat and you placed yourself in a large squishy armchair as Fred perched himself beside you on an ottoman.
You spent your evening rather uneventfully, finishing an essay for Snape as the Gryffindors slowly filtered off to bed in pairs. When George rose to take himself to the dormitory you expected Fred to follow but instead he stayed rooted by your feet where he now sat cross legged on the carpet looking over what looked like an extensive order form.
Hours later you yawned, stretching when you finally finished your work. It was now well past midnight and only a few fifth years remained, cramming for a quiz in transfiguration the next day. You turned to look at Fred who had long since sprawled himself across the couch before the fire and found him snoring softly.
A jolt of infatuation made your stomach flip. His messy hair glowed shockingly bright in the fire light, his pink lips slightly agape. You gathered your things slowly, sure not to wake him before you stood beside him.
You knew you should wake him, you were the reason he had not retreated to bed after all. But he looked so peaceful like this, so soft. Instead you found yourself slowly counting the freckles that sprawled across his cheeks, leaning close to brush a strand of his bright red hair out of his face. He woke immediately at your touch, large brown eyes locking with your own.
You felt your cheeks go hot, “You should go up to bed.” You mumbled beginning to pull away.
He snatched your wrist with such haste it took you by surprise, “Do that again.” he spoke.
You furrowed your brow, “What?”
“With my hair,” It was his turn to blush now, “Touch my hair again.”
It felt as though the air was sucked from your lungs yet you found yourself obeying, fingers coming to comb through the soft waves that spread across his forehead.
He hummed, leaning into your touch slowly, gaze still locked with yours. The two of you stayed there for a moment, you kneeling beside him fingers in his hair, his hand still loosely wrapped around your wrist.
“I’m sorry.” He murmured and you looked at him confused.
“For what?”
“Hitting you with a bludger.” he responded remorsefully.
You laughed softly, your head thrown back, “It's okay Fred.” you grinned. You were close now, so close Fred could feel the tickle of your breath on his cheek, “I forgive you. You made up for it after all.”
He smirked in spite of himself, “I suppose I did, saving your life and all.”
You were giggling again and Fred was sure he was in some beautiful dream where all he could ever hear or see was your joy.
“I wouldn’t push your luck if I were you.” You grinned, “I may just chuck the quaffle at your head when you're not looking.”
“Only if you catch me when I fall.” Fred whispered, leaning closer still.
You let him, your lips connecting slowly. You were pleased to find he was a fantastic kisser, his lips soft and plush, eager to please. His free hand cupped your cheek as he pulled you closer still until you were practically on top of him.
One of the alarm clocks the fifth years had been attempting to turn to roosters burst to life and you pulled away abruptly remembering bitterly that you and him were not the only ones in the room. Fred chased after your lips with his own desperate for even a moment more with your mouth.
“You should get to bed.” You repeated standing now, knees a bit shaky.
Fred was disappointed by your departure but grinned wildly nonetheless as you gathered your books into your arms and turned back to him.
“I’ll see you tomorrow Fred.” You yawned and began up the stairs to your dormitory determined not to let him see the childish glee that had spread across your face.
“Wait!” He called after you, lurching from the couch and stopping at the bottom of the steps.
You turned back to him taking in the wonderful sight of him staring lovingly up at you. He looked delightfully disheveled, his hair a mess and his lips swollen from your touch. You took two steps down now only one above where he stood on the hardwood floor.
You looked down at him expectantly as his eyes bore into your own.
He lifted himself onto his toes and grabbed your shoulders forcinging you forward where you connected for a second time.
This time his breath was hot and heavy on your lips, his earnest intensifying to a level that you could only describe as hunger. Your feet dangled momentarily in the air as he lifted you fervently into his embrace. You were suddenly engulfed in Fred again, he was all you could smell sweet and cinnamon, all you could hear were his pants in your ear, all you could feel was him, his arms around your middle, his thigh pressed between your legs and his lips and tongue working so well together that it was you who chased after him this time, whining in protest when he pulled back.
You stared at him, out of breath and stunned to silence.
Fred looked as though he had just won something very expensive the way he was grinning with triumph, his eyes dark with lust.
“Sweet dreams love.” He murmured leaning down to give you one final kiss, his lips moving sickeningly slow against your own, wet and warm. He hovered inches form your lips for a moment, as if debating diving back in, before he backed away tucking his hands casually into his robes.
“You should go to bed, love.” He smirked, “We’ve got an early practice tomorrow and I do believe you made me a promise about knocking me off my broom.”
You bit your lip to keep from breaking into girlish giggles. Your heart was still pounding as though you had just run a long race.
“Only if you swear to catch me though.” He added with a wink.
“I’ll always catch you Freddie.” you assured him before turning and hurrying back up the stairs, grinning so wide your cheeks had begun to ache.

between light and shadow ── tom riddle

summary: you ran away after discovering you were pregnant during your final year at hogwarts. three years later, you and your son are in danger, and to protect your child, you must return to him, your past lover, tom riddle.
warnings: tom riddle x reader, the timeline is a mess, both tom and reader are 21 in this
word count: 1,8k
the grand dining hall of the manor was illuminated by a cascade of floating candles, their warm glow contrasting with the heavy, imposing decor. you entered with mattheo’s hand in yours, the little boy wide-eyed as he marveled at the room’s grandeur.
tom was already seated at the head of the table, his piercing gaze softening slightly as he saw them approach. he gestured to the seats beside him and mattheo immediately climbed onto the one closest to tom.
“is this where you always eat?” mattheo asked, his voice filled with innocent curiosity as he looked at the vast table.
tom’s brow furrowed, clearly unprepared for the child’s inquisitiveness. “most of the time,” he replied carefully, his deep voice tinged with an awkward stiffness.
“do you eat alone?” mattheo pressed, his head tilted.
tom hesitated. “yes.”
“that’s sad,” mattheo said matter-of-factly, his bluntness drawing a stifled laugh from you. you quickly masked it with a sip of water, though your eyes sparkled with amusement.
tom shot you a look that was equal parts exasperated and confused before turning back to mattheo. “it’s… practical.”
“what’s practical?” mattheo asked, his small face scrunched in concentration.
tom blinked, clearly unused to being questioned so persistently. “it means… useful. efficient.”
mattheo nodded solemnly, as if tom had just imparted a great wisdom. “do you like being alone?”
this time, tom hesitated longer, his gaze flicking to you as though searching for an answer. you raised an eyebrow, smirking at his discomfort.
“sometimes,” he finally said, his tone quieter.
mattheo tilted his head again. “do you have any friends?”
you nearly choked on your water, quickly covering your mouth to suppress the laugh threatening to escape. tom’s lips twitched, his patience wearing thin.
“i have… associates,” he answered stiffly.
“what’s an associate?”
you let out a soft giggle, unable to hold it in any longer. “mattheo, darling, why don’t we let mr. riddle eat his dinner in peace?”
“but I like asking questions,” mattheo said, looking genuinely puzzled by your suggestion.
“and mr. riddle isn’t very good at answering them,” you teased, your grin widening as you met tom’s glare.
tom’s jaw tightened, but there was a flicker of something else in his expression—an unfamiliar warmth, even as he fought to maintain his composure.
“perhaps i’m simply not accustomed to interrogations during meals,” he said, his tone dry but lacking his usual sharp edge.
“that’s because you’re not used to dining with company,” you quipped, reaching over to ruffle mattheo’s curls.
tom watched them, his gaze lingering on you as you laughed with their son. for a moment, the cold, calculating mask he always wore seemed to slip. he looked almost…human.
“mattheo,” he said, his voice softer now, “do you enjoy living here?”
the little boy shrugged. “it’s okay but mama says we won’t stay forever.”
you stiffened slightly, your eyes darting to tom, who had gone very still. his gaze was sharp as he turned to you, the unspoken question clear in his expression.
“we’ll discuss that later,” you said quickly, your tone firm as you focused on your plate.
mattheo looked between them, clearly sensing the tension but too young to understand its weight. “i like the library,” he said cheerfully, breaking the silence. “it has so many books! did you read all of them?”
tom’s lips curved into a faint smile, the kind that didn’t reach his eyes. “most of them.”
“wow,” mattheo said, his admiration genuine. “can you show me which ones are the best?”
“perhaps tomorrow,” tom replied, his voice softer now, though his gaze remained locked on you.
as the meal went on, mattheo’s questions continued, ranging from “do you like cats?” to, “if you’re so tall, can you touch the sky?”. you found yourself laughing more than you had in months, your heart lightened by your son’s innocence.
but every now and then, you would catch tom watching you, his dark eyes unreadable. you couldn’t tell if he was irritated by mattheo’s endless chatter or if he was quietly mourning the time he had lost with his son.
as they finished dessert, mattheo yawned, his head nodding sleepily against your arm.
“i think someone’s ready for bed,” you said, smiling as she scooped him up into her arms.
“goodnight, mr. riddle,” mattheo mumbled, his eyes half-closed as he rested his head on your shoulder
tom nodded, his gaze following them as you carried mattheo out of the dining hall.
when they were gone, tom leaned back in his chair, staring at the empty space where they had been. he was unaccustomed to the warmth that had settled in his chest during the meal, and he didn’t know whether to embrace it or push it away.
all he knew was that y/n and mattheo had a way of making him feel things he thought he had buried long ago—and it terrified him.
tom sat in silence for a long moment, his fingers drumming absentmindedly on the table. his thoughts swirled with confusion and something deeper, something he didn’t want to acknowledge. the little scene with you and mattheo had unsettled him more than he was willing to admit.
he had lived his life by control, by power—everything within his grasp, manipulated and ordered. but tonight, with mattheo’s innocent questions, the laughter in y/n’s voice, and the unspoken bond between them, it was as though everything he thought he knew had been turned upside down. the reality that he had a son—his son—was still too raw to fully comprehend.
he hadn’t expected this. he hadn’t expected them to feel so… normal. so human.
“this isn’t what i wanted for you,” he whispered to himself, though the words were not directed at anyone in particular.
what was it about you? why did you make him feel things no one else could? the thought lingered in his mind, clinging to him like a shadow. even as his cold, calculating side tried to push it away, something in him resisted, drawn to the warmth you provided despite everything.
minutes passed, and eventually, he stood up, smoothing down the fabric of his robes. his fingers brushed the edge of his wine glass, but he didn’t drink—he wasn’t thirsty. his mind was elsewhere.
fhe sound of mattheo’s soft laughter echoed faintly from the hall as you tucked him into bed, and for a brief moment, tom considered going to check on you—just to see, just to… but the thought vanished quickly, replaced by a sharp twinge of anger.
what would it even mean? to go to you now, to step into their world? was he really ready to acknowledge the life he had never asked for, yet was bound to in a way he could never escape?
he needed to focus, to remember his purpose. his empire, his power—those things mattered, didn’t they? everything else was secondary. everything else was just a distraction.
and yet, the more he tried to focus on his plans, on his goals, the more mattheo’s innocent voice echoed in his mind, asking questions about cats, the sky, and his tallness. it’s ridiculous. he wasn’t even sure how to answer a question like that, but the way mattheo had looked up at him with such trust—it had nearly broken him.
when you returned to the dining hall later, your footsteps barely a whisper on the stone floor, you found tom standing by the grand windows, looking out over the darkened grounds. the moonlight cast long shadows, the silence in the room almost suffocating.
you watched him for a moment before speaking. “you’re thinking too much, tom.”
he didn’t turn, but you could hear the soft exhale of air he released in response.
“i always think,” he replied, his voice low.
you took a few steps toward him, pausing just behind him. for a brief moment, you allowed yourself to watch the way the light hit his profile—the way the years had shaped him, the hard edge of his jawline that once seemed so cold, now softened in the moonlight. despite everything, despite his darkness, there was still something that called to you.
“i didn’t expect mattheo to… be so curious,” he said quietly, almost as if speaking to himself. “he doesn’t fear me like everyone else does.”
you took a breath, your hands folding in front of you “he’s just a child, tom. he sees the world through different eyes.”
“i suppose.” his voice was distant, but you could feel the tension building in him. “i didn’t expect him to want to talk to me.”
“he’s a little like you,” you remarked, your voice soft. “he doesn’t know any better.”
tom looked at you then, the intensity in his gaze sharper than you remembered. “and you? do you still think of me as someone who can be reasoned with?” he asked, his tone suddenly more biting.
your chest tightened, but you met his gaze steadily. “i think of you as a lot of things, tom,” you replied, your voice calm. “but the truth is… you’re not the person i thought you were. you’re not who you showed me you were back then.”
his eyes darkened, but you noticed the flicker of hesitation before he spoke again. “what does that mean?”
“it means that i’m not so sure about you anymore,” you said, your words carrying the weight of the past three years of uncertainty, fear, and betrayal. “you’ve changed… but so have i.”
tom’s gaze hardened, and he took a step closer to you, his presence consuming the space between you. “you still think i’m capable of the things i’ve done,” he said, his voice low, dangerous. “of course, you do.”
“i think you’re capable of more,” you answered, your voice steady. “but that doesn’t mean i trust you.”
tom’s jaw clenched, but there was something else there, something unreadable in his eyes.
“i never wanted you to trust me,” he said, his voice softer now. “i wanted you to understand me.”
you looked at him for a long moment, your heart heavy. “i don’t understand you, tom,” you admitted quietly. “i don’t think I ever will.”
there was silence then, a pregnant pause between them as the distance stretched thin, and yet, despite everything that had happened, there was something that lingered in the air—something neither of them could quite grasp. tom’s fingers twitched as if he wanted to reach for you, but he held back.
and in that moment, you realized that you might never truly understand tom—you might never be able to. but perhaps, just perhaps, that was the very thing that made him so dangerous.
this is my christmas present to y’all. got so excited writing this that I already wrote the part 2 but i might only publish it in 3 days, so comment if you want to be added to the tag list !!!!!

My Very Own Cupid | G.W

Summary: Valerie Valentine, known as “Hogwarts’ Cupid” for her matchmaking prowess, finds herself heartbroken upon finding out George Weasley, her crush since 4th year, likes Angelina Johnson. This leads her to abandon her romantic endeavors, only to later discover something unexpected.
Warnings: None
Word Count: 2.5k+
A/N: This is my first ever story on tumblr, I really hope you guys enjoy! 🫰
⊱ ─── ⋅ʚ♡ɞ⋅ ─── ⊰
Valerie Valentine lived for Valentine's Day. It was in her name, after all.
Ever since she was little, Valentine’s Day had been her favorite holiday—the chocolates, the roses, the handwritten love letters. She adored how, just for a day, everything seemed sweeter, softer, filled with endless possibilities. When she arrived at Hogwarts, she quickly made it her mission to bring that magic to the castle.
It started in her second year when her best friend, Hannah Abbott, had fallen hopelessly in love with Roger Davies.
“I can’t tell him,” Hannah had groaned, burying her face in her hands. “I’ll probably trip over my own feet and embarrass myself for life.”
Valerie, ever the romantic, had taken that as a challenge. With a carefully written anonymous love letter, a bit of strategic maneuvering, and the right nudge at the right time, Roger had ended up asking Hannah to Hogsmeade. By Valentine’s Day, they were sitting at the Hufflepuff table, sharing a box of Honeydukes chocolates.
“You’re amazing at this, Val,” Hannah had gushed. “You should be Hogwarts’ Cupid!”
And just like that, Valerie Valentine became a legend.
---
Valerie took on the title of Hogwarts’ Cupid with pride, dedicating herself to helping students find love. Over the years, she orchestrated dozens of successful love stories, each one becoming a fond memory.
One of her most ambitious plans involved a nervous third-year Hufflepuff, Andrew Macmillan, who had a crush on a Ravenclaw named Helena Clearwater. Andrew was a wreck whenever Helena was around, stammering through his words and turning bright red.
“She’s so smart, Val,” he had sighed. “She probably thinks I’m a complete idiot.”
Valerie had an idea.
“Girls love grand gestures,” she told him, handing him a crumpled parchment. “And you know what’s grand? A love song performed by the Hogwarts suits of armor.”
Andrew had stared at her in horror. “You cannot be serious.”
“I am serious.” She smirked. “I also may or may not have bribed the suits of armor to serenade her during lunch.”
Sure enough, the next day, as Helena was walking to the Great Hall, one of the enchanted suits of armor clanked forward, raised its sword like a conductor’s baton, and began to sing.
“O fair Helena, with eyes so bright,
You make my heart take glorious flight!
Oh, would you fancy a date with me?
For Butterbeer and cakes of treacle sweet?”
Andrew looked like he was about to pass out from sheer embarrassment.
But then—Helena laughed. A real, delighted laugh. “This is the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever seen,” she said, turning to Andrew. “Did you do this?”
He stammered for a moment before nodding.
She smiled. “It’s cute. I’d love to go to Hogsmeade with you.”
Valerie cheered from the sidelines. Another successful match.
---
By her third year, Valerie had students seeking her out for help. One of them was a shy Gryffindor named Ethan Wood, who had a major crush on Katie Bell.
“She’s so cool,” he groaned. “She’s an amazing Chaser, and she’s funny, and—and she probably doesn’t even know I exist.”
“Well, let’s change that,” Valerie had said.
Knowing Katie loved Chocolate Frogs, Valerie devised a plan. Ethan would send her a Chocolate Frog every morning for a week, each one accompanied by a tiny, anonymous note with a compliment.
The first note: You play Quidditch like a star.
The second: Your laugh is the best sound in the world.
By the time the seventh note arrived, Katie was determined to find out who her secret admirer was. She cornered Valerie at the common room, eyes shining with curiosity.
“You know, don’t you?” she asked.
Valerie grinned. “What would you do if I did?”
“I’d probably want to talk to him.”
So, later that evening, Valerie orchestrated the grand reveal. Ethan, nervous as ever, stood by the fireplace, hands fidgeting at his sides. When Katie walked up to him, Chocolate Frog in hand, she smirked.
“So,” she said, tossing the frog at him playfully. “You’ve been feeding me an unhealthy amount of sugar.”
Ethan stammered. “Uh—uh—sorry?”
Katie laughed. “Don’t be. Want to go to Hogsmeade with me?”
Ethan nearly fainted. Valerie patted herself on the back. Another victory.
---
For three years, Valerie had been Hogwarts’ Cupid. She loved it. She lived for it.
"Hogwarts' Cupid" had always been surrounded by love—not just romantic love, but the kind of warmth that came from friendships, from laughter, from the little things that made life feel magical. And yet, nothing had prepared her for the moment she realized she was in love with George Weasley.
She never meant to. It just happened—the way his laughter echoed through the common room, the way he always had a joke up his sleeve, the way his mischievous grin made her stomach flip.
---
It happened one evening in her fourth year, during the first snowfall of the winter. The Gryffindor common room was cozy, the fire crackling in the hearth, but Valerie had always been drawn to the magic of fresh snow. So when she saw the first flakes drifting past the castle windows, she slipped outside.
She didn’t expect anyone else to be out there, but of course—George Weasley never did the expected.
“Oi, Valentine,” he called from behind her as she stood in the courtyard, snowflakes catching in her hair. “Fancy meeting you out here. What’s a Cupid like you doing standing alone in the cold?”
She turned to find him grinning, his red hair dusted with snow, his cheeks pink from the chill.
“I could ask you the same thing,” she shot back. “Shouldn’t you be inside, plotting your next great prank?”
George put a hand to his chest, feigning offense. “I do have other interests, you know.”
“Oh? Like what?”
“Like this,” he said, before suddenly scooping up a handful of snow and launching it at her.
Valerie shrieked as the snow hit her shoulder. “George!”
“What? Cupid needs to learn how to dodge!” he teased, already gathering more snow.
She didn’t hesitate. She bent down, packed a snowball, and threw it at him with all her might—only for him to duck at the last second. It sailed past him and hit none other than Professor McGonagall’s window.
Both of them froze.
George turned to her, his eyes wide, and then—he grinned. “Run.”
Valerie didn’t need to be told twice. She bolted, George right beside her, the two of them slipping and sliding across the snowy courtyard as laughter bubbled out of them. They only stopped when they reached the covered bridge, breathless and shivering but giddy.
“That was all your fault,” Valerie panted, leaning against the railing.
George smirked. “Oh, definitely yours. I was just an innocent bystander.”
She rolled her eyes, but before she could retort, he reached out, brushing a bit of snow from her hair. It was such a small gesture, but it sent a shiver down her spine that had nothing to do with the cold.
Their eyes met. And for the first time, standing there in the soft glow of moonlight reflecting off the snow, Valerie saw him differently.
Not just as the prankster. Not just as her friend.
But as someone who made her heart race.
Someone she wanted.
The realization hit her so suddenly that she barely managed to breathe.
George tilted his head, a slow, teasing smile forming on his lips. “You alright there, Val?”
She swallowed, forcing herself to laugh. “Y-Yeah. Just cold.”
“Then we’d better get inside before you freeze,” he said, throwing an arm around her shoulders and steering her back toward the castle.
She barely heard him over the sound of her own heartbeat.
Because that was the moment she knew—
She had fallen for George Weasley.
---
By her sixth year, Valentine’s Day at Hogwarts was practically synonymous with Valerie Valentine.
The weeks leading up to the holiday were always the busiest. Students whispered in hallways, love letters passed hands, and Valerie’s name floated through conversations like a spell. As usual, she was in high demand—helping a lovestruck Ravenclaw compose a heartfelt poem, advising a nervous Hufflepuff on how to casually bump into his crush, and sneaking sweets into the Gryffindor common room for a surprise confession plan.
She should have been thrilled.
And yet, for the first time, Valerie felt tired. Something about it felt off this year. Maybe it was because, despite all the magic she created for others, she had never been on the receiving end of it.
Then, just a few days before Valentine’s Day, George Weasley walked up to her.
“Hey, Val,” he said, rubbing the back of his neck, looking almost shy. “Got a minute?”
Her heart gave a traitorous little flutter—an automatic reaction at this point.
“Of course,” she said, forcing herself to act normal. “Need help with a prank?"
“Not exactly.” He hesitated, then asked, “Do you know if Angelina’s dating anyone?”
The world seemed to tilt.
The words were a Bludger to the stomach, knocking the breath right out of her.
Angelina. Of course.
She was smart, confident, talented—his best friend. They were already close, always sitting together at meals, always joking and laughing in that effortless way that made Valerie’s heart ache.
And why wouldn’t he like her?
Valerie swallowed the lump in her throat and forced herself to smile. “I—I don’t think so. Why?”
“Oh, no reason,” George said with a shrug, a slight smile plastered on his face. “Just wondering.”
That was all the confirmation she needed.
She barely remembered the rest of the conversation. Somehow, she managed to act normal—laughing at all the right moments, nodding along as if her heart wasn’t shattering into pieces. The moment George walked away, she turned on her heel and fled to her dormitory.
She barely noticed the way her hands trembled as she grabbed the stack of love letters from her desk—the ones she had spent years helping craft, the delicate parchment filled with confessions she had helped others deliver.
With a shaking breath, she threw them into the fireplace.
The flames swallowed them up, turning love into ashes.
Hogwarts’ Cupid was officially retired.
---
For the first time in three years, Valerie refused to help anyone with their Valentine’s Day plans.
When a nervous fourth-year approached her in the library with a love letter, she shoved it back at them without a word. When Hannah Abbott asked for advice on which chocolates to get Roger, Valerie snapped, “Does it really matter?”
Hannah folded her arms. “Okay, what is going on with you?”
“Nothing,” Valerie muttered, burying herself deeper into her Potions textbook.
Hannah wasn’t convinced. “You love this holiday. It’s your thing.”
“Not anymore.”
Hannah stared at her, then realization dawned on her face. “This is about him, isn’t it?”
Valerie stiffened. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
Hannah sighed. “Val, if you’re upset about something, talk to him. You never just give up.”
But Valerie shook her head. What was the point? George had already made his choice.
So, on Valentine’s Day, while the Great Hall buzzed with excitement, while couples exchanged gifts and friends laughed over ridiculous love notes, Valerie sat in the Gryffindor common room, alone.
She refused to look at the door. She would not let herself wonder if George had asked Angelina out.
Then, just as she was debating whether to go hide in her dormitory for the rest of the night, George plopped down beside her.
“Alright, Valentine,” he said, stretching his arms over the back of the couch. “What’s going on?”
Valerie scowled. “What are you talking about?”
“You’re usually running around playing matchmaker, making sure everyone has a perfect day,” George said, eyeing her closely. “And yet, here you are, sulking like someone just told you Chocolate Frogs were being discontinued.”
She crossed her arms. “Maybe I’m just sick of love stories.”
George blinked, clearly taken aback. “Alright, who are you and what have you done with Valerie Valentine?”
She huffed. “Why do you even care? Shouldn’t you be off with Angelina?”
George frowned. “Angelina?”
Valerie glared at him. “You asked about her.”
George tilted his head. “Yeah…? So?”
“So,” she snapped, “if you’re going to ask her out, just do it already.”
For a moment, George just stared at her. Then, suddenly—
He laughed.
A real, full-bodied laugh.
Valerie gaped. “What’s so funny?!”
George grinned at her like she was the biggest idiot in the world. “Oh, Merlin, you’re thick.”
She scowled. “Excuse me?!”
He leaned forward, resting his elbows on his knees. “Val, I asked about Angelina because Fred fancies her. I was helping him.”
The world came to a screeching halt.
Her mouth opened. Closed. Then opened again. “Wait—you don’t like her?”
George smirked. “Of course not. She’s great, but she’s not the one I wanted to spend Valentine’s Day with.”
Her heart pounded so hard she thought it might burst out of her chest. “Then… who do you want to spend it with?”
George raised an eyebrow. “Who do you think?”
She froze.
Everything—the endless matchmaking, the stolen glances, the little moments between them—it all suddenly clicked into place.
“You,” he said simply.
Her breath hitched.
For the first time in her life, Valerie Valentine was speechless.
George smirked, tilting his head. “Now, if our former Hogwarts’ Cupid is done sulking, can I take her on a proper date?”
Valerie stared at him, her heart pounding, before a slow, hesitant smile tugged at her lips. “I suppose…” She tapped a finger against her chin, pretending to consider it. “I could make an exception.”
George laughed, reaching out to ruffle her hair. “That’s my girl.”
And just like that, Hogwarts’ Cupid finally found herself caught in the love story she never saw coming.

To Have and To Hold
Fred Weasley x Reader
Summary: Fred Weasley loves you recklessly, shamelessly, like it’s the easiest thing in the world. And maybe it is, maybe love is effortless when it’s him, when he twirls your wedding ring between his fingers and calls you his wife like he still can’t believe you’re real.
The first time you catch Fred Weasley playing with your wedding ring, you think nothing of it.
You’re seated at The Burrow’s worn kitchen table, comfortably tucked into his side, one of his arms draped lazily over your shoulders as he chats with George. It’s not unusual—Fred has always been tactile, always had a way of touching you like he needs to confirm you’re real. But then you feel it, the absentminded brush of his fingers against yours, the way his thumb traces slow, deliberate circles over the thin gold band on your ring finger.
You glance down, catching the way he spins the ring idly, over and over, his movements so effortless, so natural, like he’s done this a thousand times before.
You glance up at him, amused. “Enjoying yourself?”
Fred turns, grinning like the lovesick fool he is. “Mmm,” he hums, still twirling the band. “Just admiring my wife.”
Your stomach flips, warmth curling at the base of your spine, because he means it. He says it with no fanfare, no teasing lilt, just quiet, undiluted affection. And that’s the thing about Fred Weasley—he loves you loudly, but he loves you softly too.
And Merlin, you adore him for it.
────
He introduces you the same way every time.
Like now, in Diagon Alley, when you run into an old friend from school. Fred doesn’t even let you speak before he’s slinging an arm around your waist, pulling you flush against his side, and grinning like he’s won the bloody lottery.
“This beautiful lady is my wife.”
Your friend raises an amused brow. “I do know who Y/n is, Fred.”
Fred shrugs, unbothered. “Doesn’t hurt to remind people.”
You nudge him with your hip, arching a brow. “Or yourself?”
Fred leans in, breath ghosting against your ear, voice dropping into something softer. “Especially myself.”
And suddenly, you can’t breathe.
Because there’s something raw in the way he says it, something earnest and unguarded, like even after all this time, a part of him still can’t believe you’re his.
Your fingers curl into the front of his shirt, grounding yourself in the warmth of him, in the steady rise and fall of his chest. He notices, because of course he does, and his arm tightens around you, thumb stroking slow, soothing circles against your side.
You shake your head, attempting to fight the smile threatening to take over your face. “You’re ridiculous.”
Fred presses a kiss to your temple, lingering. “Ridiculously in love with you.”
And you?
You love him just the same.
────
The shop is quiet when Fred finds you in the back room, tucked between shelves stacked high with merchandise. He corners you effortlessly, hands braced on either side of you, effectively caging you in.
“Fred,” you sigh, arching a brow. “You’re in my way.”
Fred grins. “Am I?”
His voice is all honey and mischief, and Merlin, he knows what he’s doing. He’s close enough that you can feel the heat rolling off him, close enough that you catch the way his lashes flutter as he looks down at you, the way his lips twitch like he’s fighting the urge to kiss you senseless.
You tilt your chin up, challenging. “What do you want?”
Fred hums, pretending to think. “Hmm… you.”
And damn him, because he means it.
He doesn’t move—not yet. He just watches you, watches the way your breath catches, the way your fingers twitch at your sides like you want to reach for him. He wants you to.
And maybe that’s why you don’t.
Instead, you smirk. “You already have me.”
Fred’s grin softens into something impossibly fond. His hand lifts, brushing a loose strand of hair behind your ear before trailing down, fingers grazing your jaw, your throat, before settling over your wedding ring. He twirls it between his fingers, slow and deliberate, his other hand splaying across your waist, pulling you closer until there’s nothing left between you.
“I know,” he murmurs, pressing his forehead to yours. “Just like I know I’m never letting you go.”
It’s late when the two of you finally tumble into bed, limbs tangled, the scent of him all around you—firewood, spice, something inherently Fred. The world outside is quiet, but his heartbeat is steady beneath your ear, grounding.
His fingers find yours under the sheets, and he does it again—twirls your wedding ring between his fingers, lazy and thoughtless, like a habit he’s never quite grown out of.
“Do you ever get tired of doing that?” you ask, voice heavy with exhaustion.
Fred’s lips twitch against your forehead. “Nope.”
You exhale a quiet laugh. “Why?”
For a moment, he doesn’t answer. He just holds you closer, presses a kiss to the top of your head, his breath warm against your hair. Then—softly, barely above a whisper—
“Because I still can’t believe you married me.”
You blink, something tightening in your chest.
Fred Weasley is the most confident man you’ve ever met. He can talk his way out of trouble, charm his way into getting what he wants. He’s brilliant and funny and devastatingly golden.
And yet, here, in the quiet safety of your shared bed, he’s just Fred. Just a boy who loves you so much it sometimes knocks the wind out of him.
Your throat feels tight as you shift, tilting your head to meet his gaze. His eyes are warm, shining with that impossible, unwavering love.
So you reach up, threading your fingers through his hair, and whisper, “I’d marry you a hundred times over, Fred Weasley.”
Fred grins, slow and unbearably fond, fingers still toying with your ring.
“You’re stuck with me now, love.”
And Merlin, you wouldn’t have it any other way.

Can i request a fred weasley with maybe a reader from black family that doesn’t really like christmas? thank u so much!! (they’re not relatives and kinda in a relationship)

Weasley Warmth Delivery
a.n! thanks for requesting and sorry if this took me this long, but to be honest i still feel into christmas mood. i tried this new ‘format’ of exchanging letters! mention of my previous work
Dear y/n,
Well, look at that—a letter from Black. To what do I owe this honor? Boredom finally driving you mad in that haunted house of yours? Don’t worry, love, I’ve been expecting it.
Grimmauld Place isn’t exactly the Ministry of Fun, is it? And without me around to liven up the place, well, I’m amazed you lasted this long before reaching out.
First, let me set the scene for you here at the Burrow: total chaos, as usual. Mum’s been running around like a bludger on a sugar high, barking orders about decorating and cleaning things that were perfectly fine before she started. Ginny keeps nicking the fairy lights off the tree to “improve” her room (I think she’s trying to charm them to spell out something rude for Ron), and Percy’s been giving us all his patented look of disapproval. Honestly, I think he was born with that expression.
George and I, naturally, have been hard at work testing a few of our newest products. Let’s just say the garden gnomes had a very eventful morning and leave it at that.
But, enough about the Burrow, it’s too normal compared to what I’m imagining for you. I bet Grimmauld Place is a real barrel of laughs this time of year. Bet you’ve got Kreacher croaking out festive insults like, “Filthy blood traitor scum don’t deserve gingerbread.” Or maybe you’ve charmed those gloomy curtains shut tight so you don’t have to look at your delightful family tree. Is my name still scorched off that thing, by the way? If not, I’ll send George over to fix that. It’s our legacy, after all.
I wish I could say I don’t worry about you being there all by yourself, but you know me—I don’t do lying very well. (Or at all, according to mum. But then again, she doesn’t always appreciate my particular brand of honesty.) You’ve got that whole independent, “I don’t need anyone’s help” thing going on, and I get it. I do. But I can’t help wishing you’d pop over to the Burrow for Christmas. Mum would adore you, I promise. Well, she’d probably scold you for being “too thin” first, but that’s just part of the package deal. Once she’s fed you a month’s worth of food in two days, she’ll be absolutely besotted.
And before you go claiming I’m trying to recruit you to our family, let me clarify: yes, that’s exactly what I’m doing. Because family doesn’t have to be the lot you were born with.
You’ve got us now, whether you like it or not.
Now, enough of this sappy nonsense. You’ll start thinking I’m losing my edge. Let’s talk about important things—like me. Did I mention George and I managed to sneak a prototype of our newest invention past Mum? It’s called the “Crackling Cauldron Cake,” and it’s exactly as dangerous as it sounds. You bite into it, and it pops like a small Firework Charm in your mouth. George claims it’s “too risky for mass production,” but I say he’s lost his Gryffindor nerve. (He was almost a Hufflepuff, you know. Don’t tell him I told you that.)
Oh, and speaking of risky ventures—have you heard from the “adorable” bunch at Hogwarts? Lee says everyone’s still whispering about us switching ties that morning. Apparently, there’s now a theory that we were secretly meeting in the Forbidden Forest for mysterious reasons. Honestly, they’re creative. I’ll give them that. Maybe we should encourage the rumors. Keep them on their toes, you know?
Alright, I should wrap this up before the owl starts biting me again. (Did you train this thing to attack, or is that just a natural Black family trait?) But seriously, don’t be a stranger. Owl me again, even if it’s just to complain about how miserable it is without me around. I’ll write back—promise. And if you’re feeling really brave, you’re always welcome here. I’ll even let you beat me at Wizard’s Chess again, just to keep things festive.
Take care of yourself, alright? And if Grimmauld Place starts feeling too cold, just think of this letter as a little Weasley warmth delivered right to your doorstep.
Yours (because I’ve decided you’re mine to pester now),
Fred
P.S. If you don’t write back soon, I’m sending George over to prank your front door. You’ve been warned ;)

--- It was early evening at Hogwarts, the golden hues of the sunset casting a warm glow over the castle. Students bustled about, preparing for the evening's activities, but Fred Weasley was absolutely buzzing with excitement. He stood just outside the doors to the Great Hall, his feet shifting impatiently as his hands fidgeted with the sleeves of his robes. He hadn’t seen you in weeks, and the anticipation of finally being reunited after all that time was enough to make him nearly bounce off the walls.
You, of course, had been away at your school, an all-girls institution known for its rigorous curriculum of elegance, poise, and charm. You had written to him about the rules of decorum you were expected to follow, and although he loved every letter, he couldn't wait for you to get back to Hogwarts. He missed you more than he cared to admit, especially since you had become such a central part of his life.
Fred had been practically counting down the days until the Triwizard Tournament brought you to Hogwarts, and now, the moment had arrived.
As the doors to the Great Hall swung open, he could see you across the room. You stood there like a vision, your silhouette framed by the candlelight. The soft navy of your robes caught his attention immediately, each delicate fold of the fabric a reminder of how you carried yourself—graceful, composed, and yet, there was something about you that made him feel like you were already home. Your school had taught you elegance, but Fred had always believed that you’d found a way to keep that elegance and still be one of the most lively and engaging people he knew.
And now, after far too long, he was about to have you back.
His heart skipped a beat when your eyes found his. Fred couldn’t stop the grin that spread across his face. In a flash, he darted toward you, weaving through students and tables without a second thought, until he was finally in front of you. He didn’t give you a chance to say anything before pulling you into a tight hug, lifting you off the ground in his usual energetic manner.
“I can’t believe it’s you!” Fred laughed, his voice full of excitement. “I’ve missed you so much!”
You were still trying to catch your breath from the sudden hug, but the warmth of his embrace made you smile despite yourself. You couldn’t help but laugh softly, your tone teasing. “I see you’ve been missing me quite a lot, haven’t you?”
Fred set you down gently, but he still held you close, not willing to let you go just yet. “Of course, I have! It’s been weeks! Hogwarts is way too boring without you around, and the place is way too quiet without someone who actually appreciates a good joke.”
You smiled, the corners of your lips lifting as you gazed up at him, enjoying his usual energetic demeanor. He was always so full of life, so unpredictable—and you loved that about him. "I see you’ve been keeping yourself busy," you teased, nodding toward the prankster twins who were already causing a ruckus at one of the tables.
Fred laughed and winked at you. "Of course! What else is there to do when you’re missing the most important person in your life?" His tone turned more sincere, though his grin never faltered. "I don’t know how I managed without you."
You felt your heart flutter at his words, the affection in his voice doing something to you that you hadn’t expected. You’d always known Fred had a mischievous side, but in moments like this, he was all soft smiles and gentle words, and it made everything seem perfect. But you knew he wasn’t quite finished.
“So, how’s it been for you? The school and all that?” Fred asked, his voice brimming with curiosity.
You gave a little shrug, a slight air of formality hanging in your response. “It’s been... fine. They expect a lot of composure from us. And a lot of focus on elegance and grace.”
Fred raised an eyebrow and smirked. “Elegance and grace, huh? I didn’t take you for the type to be so, well... quiet. But it makes you even more impressive, I suppose. You do wear that school stuff pretty well.” His eyes twinkled with admiration. “I bet the boys at your school are going mad over you.”
You rolled your eyes playfully, though you felt a blush creep across your cheeks. "Fred Weasley, are you trying to make me blush?" you teased, though a smile still tugged at the corners of your lips.
Fred leaned in closer, his voice lowering. "I think it’s cute that you’re still all elegant and classy, but you know you’re always gonna be the girl who stole my heart, right?"
Your heart skipped at the sincerity in his words, and despite your efforts to maintain your composed demeanor, you couldn’t help but smile.
"Don’t worry, I’m only here for you, Fred Weasley," you whispered back, your voice soft but full of meaning.
Fred grinned, a mischievous spark in his eye. "Well, lucky for you, I’m the only one who knows how to handle all that grace and elegance." He spun you around, lifting you off the floor once more, this time with an infectious energy that made you laugh out loud.
"Fred, you're impossible!" you laughed, your hands gripping his shoulders as he twirled you.
“Impossible?” he said with mock offense, grinning as he spun you again. “No, no, I’m the best thing you’ve got, sweetheart. I’m the one who makes life interesting.”
You rolled your eyes, but the warmth in your chest only grew. Fred always knew how to make you feel special, even when you tried to keep your distance and maintain that composed, dignified persona your school had instilled in you.
Fred pulled you in for a gentle kiss, his energy still bubbling beneath the surface. "I’ve missed you so much," he murmured between kisses.
“And I’ve missed you, too,” you replied, pulling him close as the world around you seemed to fade away.
In that moment, the chaos of the Triwizard Tournament, the excitement of Hogwarts, and the formality of your previous school felt miles away. It was just you and Fred, two worlds colliding, and everything felt right. ---

sandman || fred weasley
smut 18+, minors dni
You lacked the capability to relax.
Being in Ravenclaw the expectations of the world were on your shoulders, not including the dementors that circled Hogwarts walls that made your skin crawl.
You had been up late studying with Hermione in the Gryffindor common room, who had already been dragged to bed by Ginny.
Clutching your quill you continued to scribble on the parchment paper, your temple beginning to throb.
“How did a Raven manage to fly into the lions den this late at night?” Fred Weasley’s recognizable voice asked you. You poked your head up from your Herbology textbook, Fred’s curious eyes watching you.
“I was studying with Hermione, she ditched me early. So much for an all nighter,” You explained, marking your page. You resisted the urge to fold the corners, placing your quill in between the pages about gillweed.
“Granger going to bed early to avoid studying? How out of character. Did you give her some of our drowsy draught potion?” Fred teased. You giggled, watching the lean quidditch player approach you. A white wife beater revealed how much muscle he truly had, his usual robes keeping them concealed.
He strode over to you confidently, taking a seat on the floor beside you. The fireplace cackled behind you, the warmth of the fire drawing Fred closer. “It’s almost three am, do you plan on sleeping?” Fred asked curiously. You knew as well as he did that he was notorious for sleeping through anything. Including the dreadful hail storm that once terrorized Hogwarts.
“I’m basically an insomniac at this point, I can’t relax for more than five seconds without racking my brain to solve an equation,” You admitted sheepishly. You nervously tucked your hair behind your ear as Fred leaned back on his hands. “Here turn your back towards me, I have some legit magic that’ll help you relax,” Fred told you. You hesitantly raised your eyebrow. The ginger tended to be a mischievous prankster, even if you weren’t a victim of his tricks.
“And you’re not going to prank me?”
“Pfft, of course not,”
“Promise Weasley?”
“I promise,”
You shifted around, your back now turned to Fred as you pulled your skirt down. You weren’t sure what to expect, acutely aware of how close you both were. Fred brushed your hair away from your back and over your shoulder, before beginning to massage your shoulders. “I thought you said this was magic,” You say timidly, his large hands massaging your skin with ease. Fred chuckled at your response, brushing some of his shaggy hair out of his face.
Merlin he needed a haircut.
“Yes this is the magic of relaxation,”
Your tense body began to slowly relax under Fred’s touch, the gingers eyes scanning your neck.
“Looks like you’re good at something other than pranks Weasley,” You say teasingly. Fred rolled his eyes. “I’m good at quidditch too ya know,” He countered. Fred could feel himself growing flustered as he continued massaging you, his eyes wondering down your figure.
“Your neck looks pretty tense, I can fix that for you if you want. I’ll just need you to turn around,” Fred offered, trying to appear cool and confident. You felt your face flush pink as you shifted around, facing him. You had never gotten a chance to interact with Fred one on one, George always connected to his hip.
The moment seemed oddly intimate, even though you had never considered relationships or sex worth your time. Yet the ginger sat in front of you with his large hands and soft lips, practically begging for you to kiss him. You had never considered yourself to be attracted to Fred Weasley, yet your body was yearning for more of his touch.
Fred couldn’t contain himself anymore, closing the gap between your lips and his. He tasted faintly of butterbeer, your eyes fluttering shut as your lips danced against his. Your arms found themselves around his neck, Fred’s hands slithering down to your waist. In a swift motion he had pulled you onto his lap, straddling him in front of the fire. Your fingers found his hair, small groans being swallowed by him as your hips bucked against his.
You could feel a wet patch growing in your panties, the soaked fabric rubbing right against Fred’s growing boner. His large hands slipped up your skirt, grabbing your ass. Your hips grinded against his, lust boiling in your stomach. “I wanna taste you,” Fred muttered against your lips, his words a confession. You felt heat rush to your cheeks as you briefly pulled away, Fred’s lips almost chasing yours.
“W-what Weasley?”
Fred brought his thumb to your lower lip, dragging it downwards.
“I want your lips wrapped around my cock as I make you cum on my face,”
His filthy words sent a shiver of arousal down your spine, right down to your cunt.
You went to unzip your skirt before Fred grabbed your wrist to stop you.
“Keep it on,” He whispered, his order teetering on the line of a plea. You swallowed as the ginger laid down in front of you, eagerly awaiting you. “I don’t wanna hurt you,” You admitted, causing the ginger to chuckle. You stood up, pushing your panties down to your ankles before stepping out of them.
“I’d be a lucky man if I were to die between your thighs. C’mere,” Fred told you. You kneeled down over his head, your cunt inches away from his face.
“Fred what if I crush-”
Your concern was silenced by Fred’s hands pushing you down onto his face. You whimpered as his warm tongue licked a stripe up your cunt before assaulting your clit. You felt your thighs tighten around his head as his hands kept you in place, your filthy noises becoming louder by the minute.
“Fuck, right fucking there,” You moaned, grinding your hips onto his mouth. His lips began to suck at your clit, causing your thighs to shake. Your eyes centered on Fred’s boner, his cock throbbing inside of his pajama pants. You leaned forward, hungrily shoving them down. The lack of boxers caused you to giggle as his cock landed on his stomach.
“No underwear huh? Naughty boy,” You teased. A sharp smack landed on your bare ass, causing you to winch in pain for a brief moment before Fred’s tongue brought you back to ecstasy.
The ginger was longer than you expected him to be. You took his shaft into your hands, bringing it into your mouth. A soft groan was muffled by your folds, encouraging you to sink your head further down onto his cock. You took as much of him as you could in your mouth, using your hand to jerk the rest of his cock.
Fred admired your determination and for a brief moment he considered switching positions, the thought of you on your knees for him mouth watering. Yet, there was something about having your pretty lips wrapped around his cock as he was buried into your pussy that pleased him more.
You tasted divine, much sweeter than any other girl he had fooled around with. He licked up your cunt, pushing his tongue inside of your hole. You were involuntarily animalistic, your hips having a mind of their own as Fred laid there in heaven.
Fred’s hips were beginning to do the same, bucking upwards. His cock hit the back of your throat, causing you to gag as saliva trailed down your chin. Fred momentarily pulled away from your dripping cunt, smirking as your juices coated his lips and chin. You took him out of your mouth, gasping for air.
“You sound so pretty when you gag on my cock. Do it again and i’ll make you cum,” Fred ordered. You tried to grind down onto Fred’s face but his strong hands kept you in place. You could feel his warm breath a mere inch away from your cunt, taunting you.
The idea of cumming on Fred Weasley’s face had never been more appealing to you.
Desperately you brought his cock back to your lips, shoving it down your throat. You forced yourself to keep his shaft in place as you gagged around him. Saliva was trailing down your chin and neck, beginning to dampen your blouse.
“Such a good listener aren’t we? What a good girl,” Fred praised, kitten licking your folds. You pulled back, inhaling deep breaths of air.
“Now be a good girl and ride my face until you make yourself cum,”
You leaned back hesitantly, gripping his chest for support as he placed his mouth back onto your cunt. It was as if he somehow had memorized your body, his tongue licking every right place. Your moans were sinful enough to wake up the entire Gryffindor house and it was a miracle no one had bothered to go into the common room.
“Freddie, I, fuck-” You groaned, a familiar knot in your stomach forming. His lips had wrapped themselves around your clit, sucking harshly at the sensitive bud as your thighs trembled around his head. His large hands kept you on his face, refusing to let you move away.
You could feel your cunt clench around nothing as your thighs began to shake, squeezing Fred’s head unintentionally. Unholy moans that were mantras of his name echoed off of the common room walls as you came. Euphoria had washed over you, your nails digging into Fred’s chest.
Fred licked and sucked at your clit until you slowly lifted off of him, your knees almost buckling as you shifted away from his face. You weakly sat beside him, your after orgasm glow apparent to the ginger in front of you. “Look at you, you’re so cute,” Fred teased, using his thumb to wipe away the remaining spit on your chin.
In a swift motion you brought your lips back to his, Fred rising to his knees. You could taste your juices on his lips as you roughly meshed your lips against his. Fred couldn’t take it anymore, pulling away to meet your gaze. He shrugged his wife beater over his head, discarding it without a second thought.
“Bend over for me, yeah?”
You turned around, bending over in front of him without a second thought. You could feel him lubricate the tip of his cock by running it up and down your folds. The sensation of it hitting your abused clit made you shiver. “You have no idea how long i’ve thought about doing this,” Fred confessed. A cool breeze hit your bare skin as Fred lifted up your skirt, exposing your ass in full to him. As he pushed inside of you his fingers gripped your waist forcefully, as if he were afraid you’d disappear.
“So full- shit,” You groaned, your eyes screwing shut as he bottomed out.
“You’re practically fucking milking my cock, merlin, you slut,” Fred groaned. Your cunt only clenched around him tighter at the sound of his degrading words, causing him to smirk.
He began picking up the pace, fucking into you slowly. Your noises only grew louder as his hips began to snap into yours faster. Fred’s thrust were merciless, his body chasing an ecstasy only you could provide.
Strings of curses mixed in with your name left Fred’s lips as he watched his cock go in and out of you. He was so deep inside of you that you almost thought you were seeing stars, your body drunk off of the feeling of his cock.
“You feel so good Freddie, so fucking- good,” You slurred, your words of encouragement only making Fred pound into you faster. His cock was abusing your g spot, causing your legs to shake as your knees dug into the carpet below you. You could feel the rug digging into your skin, making it raw which each thrust.
“I wanna fuck you everyday, make you my personal Raven,” Fred grunted. He could feel you getting closer to your final high, his hand slithering down to your swollen clit. You began to squirm as his fingers circled around your sensitive bud, unable to handle the fast circles he was drawing. “Oh- i’m gonna cum, I can’t, fuck!” You cried, your walls spasming as Fred ripped you into a state of euphoria.
Fred fucked you through your orgasm mercilessly, ravishing in the sight of you in a state of pure bliss. He was so focused on you that by the time he tried to pull out his cock it was too late, his cum painting the inner walls of your cunt. Your body was spent, slumping over onto the floor as Fred pulled out of you.
Two orgasms was all it took to get you to finally go to sleep. Fred smirked to himself as he shoved his pajama pants back on, your small sleeping body curled up into a ball in front of the fire. He grabbed your things, shoving them into a bag he knew he’d deliver to you in the afternoon when you ran into each other in defense against the dark arts.
He eyed your panties on the floor, contemplating putting them back on you. Instead a more mischievous thought came to mind, which caused him to decide to shove them in his pocket instead. He picked up your body up bridal style, carrying you upstairs to the girls dorm. Fred knocked on the door, hoping whichever gryffindor girl opened it wouldn’t be a first year.
A sleepy Hermione Granger opened the door, rubbing her eyes as her vision settled. “Y/n is still here?” She asked. Her mind was already scrambling itself on what to do, the responsibility of being a prefect weighing on her shoulders. “Yeah she finally just went to sleep, I don’t think I can deliver her to Ravenclaw tower at this hour,” Fred shrugged. Hermione stared at Fred, shirtless and hair messy. He looked like a wreck, and you didn’t look much better.
Questions were on the tip of her tongue, ones she decided could wait until the morning. Hermione knew there were a few extra beds that were designated for first years, but in emergencies they would have to do. “The spare beds are to the right, be very quiet and don’t pull anything stupid,” Hermione said sternly. Fred carried you inside of the room, ignoring the dozens upon dozens of sleeping gryffindor girls. Hermione trailed close behind him, ensuring he wasn’t up to any funny business.
“How’d you get her to go to sleep anyways? Shes practically an insomniac,”
Fred shrugged, laying you down and bringing the red colored comforter up to your shoulders.
“I’m not sure myself, guess you can call me the sandman,”

mad as hatter | one
pairing: fred weasley x fem!reader word count: 5.2k warnings: none
y/n wasn't sure when she had her first visions, she'd had them as far back as she could remember. the echoes of voices from all those around her to the flashes of memories she wished she could forget. her parents thought the girl was going crazy, that their daughter was just making things up and eavesdropping on their conversations. She was shunned and shushed whenever she tried to ask questions about her odd dreams or the words that no one else was hearing.
she'd heard every hurtful comment before they even left people's mouths, seen the atrocious things people envisioned as they walked past her. no one believed she wasn't just a no-good nosy child. kids in school would call her psycho, hearing her mumble under her breath in class, and often stare off with a dazed look in her eyes. doctors have tried to get her on every medication possible but nothing helped numb the visions or silence the voices in her head.
she only had one person who ever tried to believe her growing up. there was a boy who lived down the road from her, who often would be sitting by himself in the school canteen. the pair were never officially friends, only ever sitting with one another, but were as close as either of them came to having a real friend.
y/n never learned the boy's name, having only interacted by talking about the school bully who would harass the pair. the pair weren't even in the same year, only really seeing each other during class breaks. so, when her parents decided to move the entire family up north once y/n had left primary school, she was not the least bit upset. sure, she was losing the only friend she'd ever made, but she knew she'd be long forgotten soon.
the thompsons weren't your typical family, both parents worked for the government and often spent the whole day out of the house. they would go on work trips for up to a week at a time, leaving their children to look after themselves. they had to learn how to take care of themselves from a young age, each taking up a role in the household; hughie was in charge of the outside of the house, ensuring none of the neighbours would know they were home alone; ned took care of their finances, ensuring all the bills were always paid and everyone had enough money for food; alex and y/n split the roles of cooking and cleaning the house, only allowing the other to ever try to go anywhere near the stove after the ramen incident with poor ricky, who was in charge of charming all of the nosy aunties who liked to pop round and nose around in their business.
this was how it wasn't a surprise when y/n's hogwarts letter sat unopened for months after they arrived, catching dust in their parents' bedroom along with the other unimportant post. it was only when an enthusiastic hughie came running into the kitchen one late july morning with a bundle of letters that the siblings took notice of the increase in post.
"what you got there hugh?" y/n nodded to the pile of old-looking letters on the dining room table.
"letters." hughie stuck his tongue out to the blonde girl. "they're all addressed to you, y/n."
"really? all, what, thirty of them?" alex scoffed as she entered the kitchen with a sleepy Ricky on her back.
"yeah. see, here. it says 'miss y/n y/l/n, the bigger bedroom in the loft, 3 whiteditch lane.' it even knows which room you're in y/n!" hughie shoved one of the letters into his sister's face.
y/n grabbed the letter addressed to herself, smirking at the words written on the front, knowing she did in fact have the bigger bedroom on the first floor. turning it over she was shocked to find a real wax seal instead of the usual paper closing. whoever had sent these letters to her was ancient, she thought.
"the bloody hell is hogwarts?" alex scoffed, using the kitchen knife y/n had just cleaned to rip open one of the letters. "oh, this has got to be some weird joke."
"what does it say?" ricky tried to peek over her sister's shoulder.
"'dear miss y/l/n , we are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted at hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry."' y/n read out loud for the siblings to hear, not quite believing what she was reading either.
"what a load of bullshit." hughie scoffed, pouring a glass of juice for himself and ricky.
"language, hubert!" alex smacked him upside the head.
"he's right." ned appeared in the door frame. "there's no way that's real. If so, why hasn't one of us gotten a letter as well?"
y/n was speechless, letting her brother's words sink in. why was it only her who had received these mysterious letters? what was so special about the girl compared to everyone else?
"well, it's no use thinking about anyway. there's no return address and you've missed the date to send them a response." alex shrugged, chucking the opened letter into the recycling along with all the others on the table.
y/n watched as all her siblings sat around the dining room table, dishing out the food she'd just finished making. she couldn't help but feel like they were wrong about the letters. something had clicked in her brain and felt like things were starting to fall into place as she opened it. all of the voices in her head were starting to say the same thing for once, instead of the usual rambling mess that only seemed to disappear around her siblings. she felt like a part of her that had been missing her whole life was finally complete.
"you should forget about those letters, y/n/n. they're a load of nonsense. probably just a prank from billy down the road." ned walked over with a plate of food for the blonde.
"yeh. you're probably right." she smiled falsely, joining her siblings at the table.
"like magic could be real." hughie scoffed, already helping himself to seconds of the pasta.
—————
it wouldn't be until three days later that the siblings were proved wrong as their front door was once again stuffed with triple the number of letters through their letterbox. looking out his bedroom window, hughie gawped as he spotted at least twenty owls sitting on their fence. he'd never seen such behaviour from the animals before, worrying that it was a sort of premonition.
"lexie! you might wanna come see this!" he called out to his oldest sister.
"what do you want?" alex rolled her eyes, not looking up from the book she was reading. "this better not be another one of you and ricky's pranks again."
"it's not. look!" hughie fully opened the curtains, stepping back as two owls flew directly onto the window ledge.
"so? it's just some birds." alex rolled her eyes, walking out of the room.
"it's not just some birds. it's a fucking tonne of them!" hughie tried to protest.
"language, hubert!" ned's voice could be heard from the other side of the house.
hughie could only roll his eyes like his sister, following her out into the hallway. "if you'd actually pay attention to anything other than that bloody book, you'd see i'm not exaggerating."
alex stopped at the top of the stairs, finally looking up from her book. at least fifteen owls were sat in their front garden, all having their eyes trained on the y/l/n house and a familiar letter in each of their beaks.
"uh. y/n! you mind coming downstairs?!" alex shouted, walking into the living room and stopping at the pile of letters stacked high in their front hall.
y/n ran down with ricky and ned following not far behind her. she looked around confused as the owls all began to land on the window ledges. "uh. why are there owls in our garden?"
"i have no idea. but I'm a little scared for when mum and dad get back later." ned started to close the blinds, nodding to the pile by the front door. "i think you have some post, y/n."
"yeh," y/n whispered, walking to the last open window and spotting a couple standing at the end of their drive in unusual clothing.
she drew the curtains without breaking eye contact with the snowy owl that hooted by the window. her siblings were all stood at the base of the staircase, mumbling to one another. y/n could feel their eyes as they all glanced over at her, then at the pile of letters, then back at her once again.
"look. this can't be some weird joke again." y/n finally ended their constant mumbling.
"you can't be serious, y/n." ned scoffed. "there's no such thing as magic or witches or wizards."
"but what if there is? what if somehow this is all real?" y/n tried to argue with her brother.
"oh come off it, y/n." It was hughie who scoffed this time, walking towards the pile of letters. "if magic is real then how come you've never done any, huh?"
y/n didn't know how to answer her brother, trying to remember a time when something had happened without her trying to. the day when it had randomly started torrentially raining after y/n had thrown a tantrum and refused to go to their aunt's house came to mind. or the time when she had fallen from the tall oak tree in their back garden and landed unscathed on her two feet. or the time her parents' cars both suspiciously had flat tyres and weren't able to go to an important meeting on her birthday last year. had it all been just a coincidence? or had she been the reason behind all the strange happenings surrounding her?
she couldn't put another word in before their doorbell went, silencing and stilling the room. no one dared move towards the front hallway. they weren't expecting anyone, their parents had keys to the front doors. y/n moved towards the door, stopping as it slammed open with a blinding light.
"oh, not again!" a voice groaned from outside of the house, walking through the now open hole in the front hall. "sorry about that, dears. not used to these muggle doors."
"what's a muggle?" ricky's small voice asked from behind her siblings, who'd all huddled once again at the base of the stairs.
"oh, now that you're not supposed to know." the woman chuckled to herself, dusting off her odd green robes.
"i'm sorry but who are you? and why have you broken into our house?" ned stood firmly in front of his siblings, arms out protectively.
"oh, how rude of me. my name's minerva mcgonagall, professor of charms at hogwarts." the woman tipped her head slightly, her pointed hat staying perfectly upright.
"oh, not this again," alex grumbled. "look. whatever joke this is, it's gone too far. get out before we call the police."
"well, i know you are not who i am here for then," mcgonagall mumbled under her breath. "i am here on behalf of professor dumbledore. he wanted me to personally guide miss y/l/n to gather her supplies for the year."
"you're not taking our sister anywhere." hughie pulled his sister closer to him.
"i did not expect so much push back on this. but if this is what it'll take for you to believe me." mcgonagall shrugged her shoulders, taking out a wooden stick from the sleeves of her emerald robes and pointing it at the empty fireplace.
it sparked to life into a roaring fire, the stack of letters left scattered by the front door flying into the open flames. one sole letter remained unscathed, landing in the professor's hand.
"h-how did you do that?" ricky's head appeared from behind her sister, wonder glowing in her blue eyes.
"magic, of course." mcgonagall tilted her head at the siblings. "did your parents not tell you any of this?"
"o-our parents aren't magic. they work for the government." hughie, too, was still staring at the burning ashes of the letters.
"what about your grandmother?" mcgonagall pulled out a scroll from her robes, reading the name of the family's closest magical relative. "a hilda kim. she must have told you something, yes?"
"nana kim's dead. uncle roger killed her." ricky spoke before she could think.
"frederica!" ned shoved his youngest sibling with a huff.
"sorry, neddy." ricky returned to her safe space behind alex.
"k-killed? are you sure? she's still registered as an active witch with the ministry." mcgonagall reread her list once more. "i've never had our charts be wrong."
"nana kim's alive?" alex whispered in disbelief.
"no. she's lying. we went to her funeral, remember lex?" ned refused to believe what this strange woman was saying.
"y-yeah. you helped mama write her eulogy." alex nodded, turning to the professor who was still stood bewildered in their living room.
"well. i will have to have a word with the minister himself. never in my life have i seen this be incorrect." mcgonagall tucked the scroll back into her robes.
"who was that man outside?" y/n looked back towards the professor, remembering there was another person with her.
"that was professor dumbledore himself, headmaster of hogwarts. he was seeing to it that i had the right house. you muggles and your weird house names." the professor shook her head.
"so will he be teaching me at hogwarts?" y/n's face lit up slightly at the thought of learning to do what the professor had done with the fireplace and more.
"oh no. professor dumbledore resigned from teaching a few years after your very own grandmother attended hogwarts." mcgonagall finally looked around the home spotting the clock on the wall, jumping at the time she could read. "oh. we must get going, miss y/l/n. we don't have much time to gather your supplies before everything closes."
y/n hesitantly walked forward, still staring at the still roaring fire then back at her siblings' awe-struck and perplexed faces. "how long will i be gone? my parents are coming back soon and i don't want to worry them."
"not long. i would like to have a talk with them myself when we return to explain everything anyway." mcgonagall turned her nose up at the knowledge that the children's parents had left them home alone.
"take this with you, i wrote down the house number in case you forgot." alex pulled away from the sibling huddle to rip out the house's phone number from the phone book.
"call us if you need us to come and collect you, yeah?" ned approached his youngest sister, pulling her into a tight hug. "we'll let you know if mum or dad say anything once they're back."
"thanks, neddy." y/n half smiled, still shaken up from everything that had been revealed before.
"come along, dear. we have much to do." the professor walked back towards the hole she'd made in their doorway. "oh, i almost forgot."
with a wave of the stick she had procured earlier, the door frame reconstructed itself back to the way it was before. the door even looked as though it had had a clean to it.
"there. apologies for the break-in earlier." mcgonagall walked towards the door, hesitantly turning the handle and pulling it open. "i shall see you all later."
"bye, y/n." ricky ran forward, pulling her sister into one last hug before running back up the stairs.
"we'll wait downstairs in case the phone rings whilst you're gone." ned waved his sister off, not quite trusting her safety in the hands of the stranger she was leaving with.
y/n waved her siblings off one last time before following the professor down their driveway. there stood the long-bearded man from before, carefully inspecting their neighbour's new car.
"professor dumbledore. i have miss y/n, shall we go?" mcgonagall raised her eyebrow at the man.
"ah, miss y/l/n. what a pleasure to meet you. albus dumbledore. headmaster of hogwarts." dumbledore held his hand out for the young girl to shake.
"nice to meet you too, professor." y/n shyly shook his hand.
"now, i can't come with you to diagon alley but i do look forward to seeing you at hogwarts in september, miss y/l/n." dumbledore tipped his head slightly before he disappeared with a crack.
y/n gasped in delight, amazed by the wonders of the magical world he was being exposed to. "h-how did he do that?"
"apparition, my dear. you will have plenty of time to learn all about that and more once we get you ready for hogwarts." mcgonagall took out her wand. "now, are you ready?"
y/n simply nodded her head, holding on gently to the professor's outstretched arm. she felt her body twist uncomfortably, seeing the world warp before her and in a blink she landed in an overly crowded high street.
"welcome to diagon alley. here, we will be able to find everything you'll need for your time at hogwarts." mcgonagall was already speeding ahead down towards a tall, slightly wonky building.
"but, professor, i didn't bring any money with me. how am i going to pay for anything?" y/n looked around worriedly, catching the knowing looks of passersby as they spotted the Professor walk past.
"your grandmother left some wizard money in a vault at gringotts for when any of her grandchildren came of age. seeing as you are the first of your siblings to attend hogwarts you'll have full access to the vault." mcgonagall claimed the steps up to the looming building.
"a whole vault?" y/n whispered, following the professor.
"yes. now, i'll have you stay out here whilst I go and retrieve it for you. why don't you go down to ollivander's for your wand? best to get it out of the way first." mcgonagall nodded to the black-fronted building with a swinging sign saying as such hanging out the front. "i'll be out shortly."
without another word, the professor walked through the doors and left the poor girl alone on the steps. y/n turned in a few circled before she spotted an old wooden sign with the name that the professor had mentioned before.
she felt slightly sick as she walked into the empty shop, a small pouch of coins grasped firmly in her hands. professor mcgonagall had said that this was where she could find a 'wand', though y/n wasn't sure exactly what that was or if she even wanted one. She thought back to when she'd seen the professor light the fire and repair their front door and remembers her holding a strange stick in her hand.
"ah, miss y/l/m. i knew i'd be seeing you at some point this year." an old man appeared from the aisles of boxes. "here for your wand are you?"
"y-yes." y/n meekly nodded, staring up at the man.
"i remember when your grandmother came for her first wand. 10 inch, ash wood, dragon heartstring core. very powerful witch your grandmother was." ollivander nodded, turning around and mumbling to himself as he reached for a box behind him. "now, try this one."
y/n carefully lifted the light-coloured wand from the box, feeling a stinging sensation go up her arm as soon as she lifted it. with a yelp she dropped it back into her place, shaking off the shock that still traveled up her arm.
"no. no. that won't do. let me try another." ollivander returned to the aisles, going further back before returning once more
the wand this time was a much darker colour, slightly lighter in her hands as y/n lifted it up. no sparks went up her arm this time, taking this as a good sign she gave a slight wave of it. a bust of light came out of the end of the wand, sending a stack of papers flying across the entire shop.
"not that one either." ollivander grabbed the wand out of the girl's hands, rushing back to find another choice.
y/n felt slightly deflated, questioning if the professor had been right. her mother had never mentioned anything about their grandmother since she'd passed, never saying a thing about there being a possibility of any of this being true.
"this one. this one has to be it." ollivander nodded, placing the final box down.
y/n was even more cautious, scared that being a muggle would cause the wand to backfire on her once again. her hopes were lifted as soon as she looked into the box. this wand felt different, it almost seemed to hum slightly in her hands. another shock ran through her arm, this time settling over her entire body. she felt her entire body feel like it was floating, the wand humming in tune with her mind, becoming one with her.
"fred weasley you get back here right now!" a woman's voice screeched from the doorway of the shop.
y/n dropped the wand back into its box in shock, turning and stepping back instinctively as a pair of ginger boys ran into the shop giggling.
"he's not fred, i am." the boy on the left giggled.
"honestly, you'd think you'd of learnt the difference by now." the twin on the right shook his head at the short woman who was angrily walking into the shop.
"that still doesn't mean you can run into shops as you like." the ginger woman rolled her eyes finally spotting the panicking y/n who was trying to creep out of the shop unnoticed. "oh. i'm so sorry dear for my boys interrupting you. see, this is what i mean. you two outside now!"
the twins tried to protest their mother's words, stopping at the deathly glare they received. the two trudged back out of the shop, shoving each other as they went and blaming the other for what happened.
"again, i'm sorry dear. you carry on. i'll make sure those two apologise before you're gone." the woman smiled warmly at y/n before following her sons back outside.
y/n stifled a giggle as she heard the woman's voice immediately start screeching at her sons outside the doorway, only stopping as ollivander cleared his throat. "i believe you have found your wand, miss y/l/n."
"a-are you sure?" y/n walked back over to where she'd dropped the wand in fright.
"oh, i'm most certain. 13 inch, ebony wood, thunderbird feather core. very peculiar wand but i am certain that wand was made for you." ollivander gave her a knowing look. "i think professor mcgonagall is outside waiting for you."
"y-yes." y/n nodded, carefully lifting the box off of the counter and holding it tightly to her chest. she began to walk towards the door before she realised what she'd forgotten to do. "oh, i don't have any money to pay."
"ah, miss y/l/n. there you are." mcgonagall's voice called from behind her, making the girl jump. "i believe you'll be needing this."
the professor dropped a small pouch into the girls hand, nodding her head slightly at the awaiting ollivander. y/n began to dump the coins out of her pouch onto the counter, hoping it would be enough to cover the cost of the wand.
ollivander chuckled as he sorted the coins he needed before sliding the majority of the pile back over to the girl. "you'll be needing those for the rest of your supplies i'm sure, miss y/l/n."
y/n only nodded, shocked that what she was grasping in her hands was really hers. she thanked ollivander before collecting her coins and hurrying out of the shop with the professor.
"i'd just like to apologise again for my boys' behaviour. they would also like to apologise." the ginger woman from before shoved her twins forward as y/n left the shop.
"sorry." they mumbled in sync, looking bored out of their minds.
"i-it's okay. you didn't know anyone was in there. it's fine." y/n smiled, hugging her new wand tighter to her chest.
"did you get your wand?" the one on the right gasped.
"let us see it." the twin on the left egged her on.
y/n paused, not feeling confident enough to share something so personal with the boys she'd only just met. their mother seemed to have the same idea as she smacked them upside the head. "boys! she clearly wants to leave. say you're sorry and let's go get your own wands so you can stop badgering her."
"sorry for bothering you." the twins said in sync once again, creeping the girl out slightly.
"it's okay, honestly. mistakes happen." y/n shrugged, trying to pass them to get to where professor mcgonagall was now waiting for her.
"hope to see you at hogwarts!" the first twin called over their shoulder.
"hope to not see you in slytherin!" the second twin shouted as well.
the two boys were pulled by their ears by their mother into the shop, who sent back an apologetic smile once again. y/n felt herself chuckling at their antics, turning to join mcgonagall who had already started to walk towards a new shop.
"professor, who were those boys?" she asked curiously.
"that was fred and george weasley. trouble, i'm sure of it. merlin help us all these next few years." mcgonagall muttered the last part of her sentence under her breath.
y/n giggled once more, silencing as she caught the professor's stern glare pointed down at her. she didn't dare say anything else about the boys, silently smiling at the thought of becoming friends with the pair at hogwarts.
—————
it wasn't until well past four in the afternoon that y/n and the professor returned to the y/l/n souse. two silver cars sat parked in the drive, a sign both of her parents had returned early from their trip. y/n rubbed her hands against her trousers nervously. what would her parents say when she returned? would they even believe anything professor mcgonagall said? or would it take more fireplaces being lit for them to trust the woman? she had no time to consider her options of escaping before the large oak door swung open to reveal the worried face of her mother.
"oh, y/f/n. i was so worried." nancy held her daughter tight to her chest, glaring over at the woman who had arrived with her. "who do you think you are to kidnap my child?"
"mum, it's fine. professor mcgonagall will explain everything inside." y/n tried to ignore her mother's use of her full name and ushered her inside.
"no. It's not right, y/n. get out of this house before i call the police." nancy shoved y/n inside of the house.
"mum! just listen to her. please!" y/n begged her mother.
"maybe we should listen to her, nance." robert tried to argue with his wife, reeling back at her hard glare.
"i'd like some answers." ned shrugged his shoulders, startling the group at his sudden appearance. "it'd be nice to know where our sister is being carted off to in a month."
"she' is being carted off nowhere's not being carted off anywhere!" nancy's protest fell on deaf ears and robert and ned welcomed the witch into their house.
y/n didn't look back at her mother, instead following her brother into the living room. her siblings were huddled on one of the sofas beside the still-roaring fire. they all sprang up at the sight of y/n, the youngest pulling her into a tight hug and running her ear off with questions about everything she'd seen.
"frederica, let go of your sister and sit down." robert gave his youngest a stern flare before offering a seat doe mcgonagall to sit. "now. tell us where you kidnapped our daughter to."
"i wouldn't call it kidnapping. i simply offered to take her to diagon alley and gather her school supplies." mcgonagall assumed that the children had already filled their parents in on the main things. "i have everything you will need here for taking her to king's cross on september the first."
she slid over another parchment letter, sighing as she finally saw the deathly glare she was still being dealt by mrs y/l/n. "i believe your mother had her reasons for keeping all of this a secret from you, mrs y/l/n. and i am sorry that you do not have the opportunity to go to her and ask yourself."
"did you know her? my mother?" nancy finally said.
"yes. miss abbott, as i knew her back then, was an excellent student and a brilliant witch. she was top of her class. it was such a shock to the whole teaching staff to find out she left the wizarding world after she graduated." mcgonagall looked down at her watch and sighed knowing she'd have to be back at hogwarts soon.
"does this mean that any of the others could be magic as well?" robert held his wife's hand, speaking on behalf of the shaking woman.
"we keep a very close watch on all descendants of witches and wizards for signs of magical abilities. if they had shown any they too would've received their hogwarts letters already." mcgonagall saw the three eldest siblings deflate slightly at her words. "but there is always a chance that your youngest could still be welcomed into hogwarts if she too shows the same magical capabilities as miss y/l/n."
ricky's worried expression grew brighter and more joyous by the second as mcgonagall spoke, already dreaming of her time going off to hogwarts and becoming a witch herself. y/n's face too grew into a smile at the idea of one of her siblings being able to join her.
"i do have to get back to hogwarts but if you have any questions here is the address to send letters to my office." mcgonagall pulled yet another scroll out of her robes and passed it to robert. "were there any last questions?"
y/n's mind went to the voices she'd been hearing, the visions of people she'd never met before in horrific accidents and deaths. could her 'episodes' be a part of being a witch? she didn't have time to ask the professor before her parents were ushering her through their front door. y/n couldn't leave her question unanswered and ran out through the door to the end of the driveway where professor mcgonagall had her wand out ready to leave.
"i have one!" y/n shouted after the professor before she could apparate away. "do witches and wizards often have visions of things? things that never happened to them but felt like they did? or voices in their heads of people around them?"
"what sort of visions?" mcgonagall walked quickly over to the girl.
"w-well like the time that i saved ricky from being run over by a car because i'd had a dream the night before of the exact same situation. or how i saw how my maths teacher was diagnosed with cancer weeks before it happened?" y/n felt herself becoming more and more nervous at bringing up the topic as she spoke.
"and the voices? what are they saying?" mcgonagall pressed on further.
"l-like right now you're wondering if i'm a s-seer? and something called legilimens. what do those mean professor?" y/n gulped weakly.
"i'll be in contact before you come to hogwarts, miss y/l/n. i must discuss this with dumbledore." mcgonagall turned and apparated away before peggy could ask any more questions.
she was worried she'd scared the professor away, she would tell dumbledore exactly what all of the kids at school and doctors would tell her; that she was insane.

“now i can’t get you out of my brain”
The warmth of the common room was always a sanctuary when the days at Hogwarts became too heavy. The familiar crackle of the fire and the soft murmurs of your friends provided a comforting backdrop to the hustle and bustle of school life. It had always been a place where you and George Weasley, along with the rest of the Weasley twins, spent countless hours. From pranks to late-night studying sessions to quiet moments of introspection, the common room had witnessed your friendship grow into something special.
But lately, it felt different. George no longer sat beside you, no longer leaned in close to whisper a joke or share a moment of quiet comfort. The space between you had begun to stretch, an invisible gulf that neither of you acknowledged — but both felt, nonetheless. The George you had known since childhood, the boy who had always been your best friend, had changed. And it was breaking you.
It hadn’t been sudden. It never was. These things rarely happened in a flash, but in slow, subtle increments that you couldn’t pinpoint, even if you tried. The first crack in the foundation of your friendship had come a few weeks ago. You had been sitting at the Gryffindor table in the Great Hall, talking animatedly about your plans for the summer, when you glanced up and noticed George. He was sitting with Fred, Lee, and a few others, laughing, but there was something... off about his smile. Something that didn’t quite reach his eyes.
You had dismissed it, of course. George was always the life of the party, always smiling, always joking. But something about that day had stuck with you. The empty distance in his gaze lingered in your mind long after you’d left the hall.
And then, there were the moments where he pulled away when you were near. The brief pauses in conversations, the way he kept his distance when you went to sit beside him on the couch. It was as though he were avoiding you, but not out of malice — out of something deeper, something more complex.
It wasn’t just his actions. It was the subtle change in his energy. George had always been the one who would challenge you, tease you, but it never felt like an effort. It felt natural, like second nature. But now, every interaction with him seemed strained. Every word you spoke felt like it was met with an awkward pause or a half-hearted response. And it hurt. It hurt in a way that was impossible to articulate, because it wasn’t just the loss of a friend you had grown up with; it was the slow death of something you had once held so dearly — a friendship that had always felt indestructible.
One evening, after another brief, uncomfortable exchange with George, you found yourself wandering the dimly lit hallways of Hogwarts. Your heart was a mixture of frustration and confusion, the two emotions swirling together into a storm of uncertainty. You needed to talk to him. You needed to understand what had happened, why the space between you both had become so vast, so unbridgeable.
You found him outside the kitchen, leaning against the wall with his arms crossed. He was staring at the ground, his usual carefree demeanor nowhere to be found. When he looked up and saw you, a small, almost reluctant smile tugged at his lips.
his voice softer than usual. “What’s up?”
You hesitated. The weight of everything that had been left unsaid was pressing on your chest. You knew you couldn’t keep ignoring it, couldn’t keep pretending like everything was fine when it was so clearly not. “George,” you began, your voice tinged with frustration, “what’s going on? You’ve been acting so... distant. We used to talk about everything. Now, it feels like you’re avoiding me.”
He looked at you for a long moment, his blue eyes swirling with something unreadable. For a split second, it almost looked like he might say something, but instead, he exhaled sharply and leaned back against the wall, running a hand through his messy hair.
“I’m not avoiding you,” he said finally, but the words lacked conviction. “I’m just... busy, you know? With everything going on. School, the shop... stuff like that.”
You shook your head, the frustration boiling over. “That’s not it, George. You’re avoiding me, and you know it. What’s really going on?”
George’s gaze shifted, his eyes briefly meeting yours before darting away. There was a moment of silence — an uncomfortable, pregnant pause that seemed to stretch for eternity. You could see the tension in his posture, the way his shoulders were taut as if he were carrying a weight he didn’t want to share. The walls he had built around himself were impenetrable, but you could sense the cracks.
“I just...” He hesitated, rubbing the back of his neck as if gathering the courage to speak. “I don’t want to ruin things.”
You frowned, stepping closer. “Ruin what?”
He shifted uneasily. “Us. Our friendship.”
The words hit you like a cold wave. “What are you talking about?”
George’s voice dropped, barely above a whisper. “I... I don’t want to mess things up by, you know, feeling something more for you. I don’t want to screw everything up by ruining what we have.”
You blinked, completely taken aback by his confession. The realization hit you like a punch to the gut. George wasn’t distancing himself because of something you had done. He wasn’t pulling away because of some argument or fallout. He was doing it because of his own fear — fear that his growing romantic feelings for you would ruin the foundation of friendship you had spent years building.
“I... I don’t understand,” you whispered, your heart suddenly feeling fragile in your chest.
“I care about you more than I should,” he admitted, his voice thick with emotion. “I know we’re best friends, and that should be enough. But I can’t help the way I feel, and I don’t want to lose you. If I told you how I felt... it might change everything. And I don’t want to risk that. Not when you’re the most important person in my life.”
The rawness of his words left you speechless. The air between you two was thick with the weight of everything unsaid, and for the first time in weeks, the distance between you both felt tangible. It wasn’t just the physical space that had grown — it was the unspoken emotions, the fears, and the uncertainty that hung between you like a storm cloud.
You took a deep breath, trying to process everything he had said. The irony of it all was that you had always known that George was special to you, but you had never imagined that he felt the same way. And now, the thought of losing him, of not having him in your life at all, made your heart ache in a way that was impossible to ignore.
“George,” you began, your voice trembling slightly, “you don’t have to be afraid of that. We’ve been through everything together. Why can’t we go through this too? If we really care about each other, we’ll figure it out.”
His eyes met yours, searching for something in your gaze. “You mean that?”
You nodded, your heart pounding in your chest. “Of course, I do. I don’t want to lose you either. Not like this.”
For the first time in weeks, a real smile spread across his face, though it was small, tentative. “You really think we can handle it?”
“I think we can handle anything,” you said, a hint of a smile tugging at your lips. “We’ve been best friends for too long to let this ruin us.”
The weight that had hung between you both seemed to dissipate, replaced by something new — something tentative, fragile, but filled with promise. George took a step closer, his hand reaching out to gently squeeze yours, the warmth of his touch grounding you in a way nothing else could.
“I guess,” he said softly, “maybe I’ve been scared of the wrong thing all along.”
You smiled, your fingers intertwining with his. “Maybe we both have.”
And for the first time in what felt like forever, the distance between you two disappeared.
“i overdosed”
