Is the RX 5500 XT "VR Ready Premium"?
Is the RX 5500 XT “VR Ready Premium”?
Is the RX 5500 XT “VR Ready Premium” as AMD claims? – Tested vs the RX 590 & GTX 1660 using the Vive Pro
This review follows up the Red Dragon RX 5500 XT 8GB review where we noted that AMD claims it is “VR Ready Premium”. On AMD’s website they show a Vive Pro as a HMD capable of providing a “VR Ready Premiumexperience”. So we present a VR performance showdown between the RX 5500 XT 8GB, the RX…

AMD Ryzen 3 3100 CPU Review: Overclocking, Gaming, & Production Benchmarks (ft. 7700K)
Published on May 7, 2020
This is our review of the AMD Ryzen 3 3100 CPU that’s priced at $100, incl. gaming, overclocking, & production. Our next video benchmarks R3 3300X vs. R3 3100 at the same clocks. Sponsor: Buy EVGA's RTX 2060 KO on EVGA store (https://geni.us/p8YW) Article review of the R3 3100 (but please watch the video, as we don't really make money on articles -- it's a good reference for the future, though!): https://www.gamersnexus.net/hwreviews... Intel’s 10-series desktop CPUs (Comet Lake) will release one day before, on May 20, 2020, and that will include the Core i9-10900K, Core i7-10700K, Core i5-10600K, and Core i3 10300. For now, the AMD Ryzen 3 3100 most directly competes against AMD’s other products, like the rarely available AMD R5 1600 AF and the same-day launched AMD R3 3300X, priced at $20 more but significantly improved in some aspects, like CCX-to-CCX latency. We’ll explore that in a different video that posts a few hours from now. The Intel i3-9100F is worth mention, as is Intel’s Core i7-7700K and 7700K OC. We included benchmarks of the i7-7700K vs. AMD R3 3100 for easy reference. This follows-up our benchmarks of the best budget CPUs in 2020 and updates its data tables. FPS Benchmarks Are Flawed - Part 1, Ft. Scott Wasson
Published on Dec 11, 2018
FPS metrics are flawed, but they still stand as one of the most understood ways to measure performance. Scott Wasson talks about why. Ad: Buy Thermaltake's M360 Plus on Amazon http://geni.us/ZZoY1O7 We have long talked about FPS in averages -- even 1% and 0.1% are ultimately averages -- and that is flawed. The trouble is, it's the easiest way to display a bunch of devices on the screen simultaneously, and frametime plots (like we show) can only reasonably fit so many cards/CPUs before they become illegible. There's no perfect solution, especially because FPS is a metric that, despite being flawed, is still good; people still understand FPS, it conveys a message reasonably well, and its flaws can be countered if reviewers take observational steps to catch poor performance behaviors. Scott Wasson, formerly of Tech Report and now of AMD, joins us to talk about solutions. Support GN on the store: https://store.gamersnexus.net/ Like our content?
