started trick or treating for unicef as long as she was old enough to understand that there were people less fortunate than her / once tied herself to a tree because they were going to bulldoze it over to build a new strip mall, she was fourteen / frequently attended marches for a variety of different causes  / always felt trapped in wellshade and as soon as she was old enough packed a bag and left as far away as possible. / took a year off before college to do an year with the peace corps / the day she got married was the second worst day of her life because she felt so claustrophobic, the worst day of her life was when she found out her husband had passed away / her dog is her best friend, she misses her when she’s in areas where she can’t bring her along / definitely has a drinking problem and it’s gotten worse since her husband passed / refused to change her maiden name for professional reasons / has been writing a book for the last five years and has yet to finish / became a vegan when she was fourteen and considers it the best decision she ever made.

growing up with the last name “mcalister”, eara knew a lot was expected of her. she was always proactive in trying to figure out the best way to make the world a better place. whether that be trick or treating for unicef or helping the local food bank, or volunteering at the animal shelter. she always had this overwhelmingly generous spirit but also the guilt that went along with it because she felt she had so much when others had so little. as adolescence dawned this guilt quickly turned into anger and she found herself angry at the world and the inaction of governments to create positive change. especially, when she was trapped in a town like wellshade. when she turned eighteen she deferred her acceptance into sarah lawrence and joined the peace corps for a year. when she came back, she was more motivated than ever to become an activist. she did her degree in social work from sarah lawrence and then joined unhcr as a caseworker. she was adamant on distancing herself from the mcalister name. when she realized people responded to her name and her family’s name she decided to use it to her advantage. with her mother being a lawyer with the UN, it gave her the perfect platform to sort of use her connections in a positive way. three years ago, she surprised everyone by marrying her boyfriend of three months. it was a wedding of convenience because eara just wanted to get married as it was a part of her “five year plan”. there were problems in the marriage for awhile with eara constantly travelling for her work. a month ago, he passed away in a car accident and since, eara has returned to wellshade to grieve, but here’s the real awful part of her story. her husband’s brother is her assistant and she has been sleeping with him for the last six months so the guilt has been overwhelming

- jack was born into the very extensive and wealthy lott family that lives in wellshade, where he has resided for his entire life. despite the family wealth, his branch of the lott-sinclairs have always been quite down-to-earth and appreciative of what they have.

- during his formative years, jack attended public school with the majority of other children in wellshade, his parents opting not to ship him off to boarding school. most of his school time was spent trying to maintain a 4.0 gpa and mastering tennis.

- back in the day, jack was on track to becoming a tennis superstar, playing in (and winning) several junior championships. when he was 19 he had the opportunity to attend australian open grand slam but bust his knee in a car accident forcing him to give up on his dream.

- since that time, on recommendation of a friend of his mother, he has dabbled in the world of modelling appearing in campaigns for marc jacobs, calvin klein, and vivienne westwood, but finds the work very unstimulating. to this day he still struggles with accepting the fact that he will never professionally play a sport he spent training for his entire life. sometimes, he feels rather aimless, and isn't entirely sure what he's going to do with the rest of his life, but tries not to let this show.

- generally, jack is a relatively nice and fun guy to be around, if at times a little status conscience. he's well aware of his entitlement and white priviledge, often finding himself in an effort to appreciate the success of his family whilst not coming accross as a spoiled rich kid. he's not always successful in the latter though.

- a passionate supporter of lgbtq rights, jack has carved out a portion of his personal fortune to start a charity which supports housing of lgbtq youth. he also regularly marches in pride parades, and is a supporter of causes that he believes in.

- fun facts: his favorite tv show is 'the handmaid's tale', favorite book is 'sharp objects' by gillian flynn, current shower jam is 'come out to l.a.' by don broco, midnight snack is dorito chips with a bucket of salsa, favorite alcoholic beverage is an aperol spritz (but if anyone asks he'll stay it's corona extra).

once upon a time, the kinsey kids might have considered themselves — and their lives — normal. not perfect, not without its faults, but certainly normal. their parents were typical high school sweethearts, their father, gideon kinsey, a high school football player — who, he always used to tell them, a hint of bitterness permeating his voice, might have gone pro if he hadn’t suffered a knee injury his senior year — turned football coach at the local college and their mother, tessa kinsey, a former high school cheerleader turned real estate agent. they had a decent, middle class upbringing that all ended the moment their father met sofia atwood. a single mother with two children from a previous marriage (that ended with barrett atwood walking out) already under her wing and an employee at the college, sofia began a relationship with gideon that lasted in secret for about six months before tessa discovered the infidelity. which led to an incredibly nasty divorce in 1996. gideon and sofia were married a year later with a baby already under their belt and another on the way. tessa eventually went back to her maiden name, barnes, but the kids kept their father’s surname and gideon ended up adopting sofia’s kids from the former marriage.

so i sort of think of this entire request as an extremely f’ed up brady bunch? the kids of gideon and tessa went back and forth between both homes, getting to know their step-siblings and half-siblings probably a little too well over the years. they’re likely still incredibly dysfunctional, what with the tension still existing between their parents, but i imagine that some of them are at least on good terms now? in a way that they might not have been back when everything was still fresh. we can definitely work through the dynamics, just make them! faces, occupations, and personalities are entirely open! gideon and tessa are white, but sofia and/or barrett could certainly be poc so long as faces reflect that!

About two years ago, hired a private investigator to help her learn more about her biological family. She did not learn much about the whereabouts of her parents, but she did learn she had a twin sister who lived in the same area. This was very exciting news for her and she was eager to get to know her. So, about a week after she found out about her twin, she reached out to her and her sister agreed to meet-up with her. And ever since that first meet-up, the two have been attached at the hip.

so this here is sweetheart dr julian holloway, though those who are close to him are most likely going to get away with just calling him jules because everyone has a habit too. he was born in wellshade, went to harvard to study medicine, did a residency at mount sinai kravis children’s hospital in new york city and has come back to wellshade to do a fellowship as a paediatrician at the hospital. well, he has been back for a few years now at least. and he has his five year old son levi with him as well, mainly because his ex wife decided to leave them and so he was kinda left there, but loves his son more than anything in the world. jules is basically a charmer, he always likes to think he is great at his job and will do anything to further it, wants people to like him and will sweet talk his way through anything. he also likes to hate on mela beaumont whenever she is bugging him, or else he feels like she is semi okay.

LUKAS ISAIAH KELLER; twenty four; drug dealer; mad hatter; brighton; the broken

okay so my poor prince, luke isn’t the best guy around. he has lived in wellshade his whole life, but the keller family was never the richest one or just a nice one in general, always in trouble, parents just spliting up and getting back together again, it was a mess. and luke is still the same, he tends to sleep on people’s couches, doesn’t have anywhere to call home because he refuses to go back to his parent’s place and his whole life is a mess. has been in trouble with the law for many things, lots of petty crimes and possession of different drugs because well, his ‘job’ is that of trying to sell them to others. luke is a fucked up mess, completely screwed up and doesn’t let people close, really sarcastic and hateful and is jealous of everything, but then he needs someone to come in and help fix things too.

Birdie is an optimistic and hardworking person, loyal to the bone whose friendly and vivacious personality can easily annoy others. although she is very soft and delicate looking, she is also a fighter that never back out and stands her ground. She is working hard to be taken seriously as a doctor, but is often dismissed as a nurse.

finley mcalister; 36; mayoral candidate; a wellshade resident born and bred, finley is the oldest child of the famous mcalister legacy, having on his shoulders all of the weight of the world placed there by his parents and society in general. a yale and harvard graduate, finley is the perfectionist that works nonstop for his goals and always expects more and better of himself. he previously worked as a human rights lawyer (following his mother’s footsteps), as well as an investigative political journalist for the new yorker before a brief stint in washington as he worked for the obama administration as a speech writer. finley has returned to wellshade over two years ago and is currently running as a mayor candidate for the democratic party, following the female political legacy. personality wise it is easy to say that very few know the true finley, as he only showcases his real self to those he truly trusts and those are very few. To the general public finley is jfk reborn, a charismatic natural born leader that receives all with a gentle smile and that works hard. little they know about the troubles he faces and the harshness of his personality, as he believes to be above most.
