For the q&a! If Vesper is an assassin, who does she usually get her contracts from? Does she have any lines she won't cross, no matter how much money is offered!

Vesper actually is a different kind of assassin, as in, she gets herself her own targets: she has a list of names of people, organizations, and teams that are involved with the Junction, namely those involved with the Junction's colonizing efforts - like the one that destroyed her planet and killed her brother. She is also very much on a "Kaz Brekker"/"Arya Stark" kind of revenge arc, as in she wants to destroy bit by bit those involved with the raid of Acaeth (a raid that destroyed her home and killed her mom), and has a special interest in finding the men who tortured her brother, so that she can kill the mercenaries just like they killed Atherys.

HOWEVER, she does accept contracts from time to time, namely from powerful crime families or rebel groups that also have a score to settle with the Junction, especially if the contract is to kill some high-ranking officer or otherwise important person to the enemy government. She mainly takes those high-profile contracts to pay for her robotic upgrades and the procedures to install them or to get herself more cutting-edge weaponry to aid her in her revenge quest. She also occasionally works as a mercenary/gun for hire to the highest bidder, as that is another way for her to get the funds she needs. This M.O of hers is actually how she met and joined Jack's crew - they needed a bodyguard/gun for hire to help them in a particularly risky heist, and she - being the most infamous assassin in the galaxy - fit the bill perfectly. They hired her, and initially, to her that was going to be just a quick business, a cash grab, and she'd move on, but things didn't turn out that way - during the progress of the heist she found that she actually cared for/liked this crew and decided to stick around for a little longer after the job was done, and eventually became a part of their "found family".

She found that having a team to watch her back would prove helpful both in giving her the support she needs to complete her revenge quest with more ease, and also that she actually liked having friends.

As for the lines she doesn't cross:

Vesper NEVER hurts children or teenagers;

Vesper doesn't kill families, and if one of her targets has a kid she won't kill the target in front of them (because she knows how traumatizing that would be to the kid, cause she saw her brother die when she was a kid), and will wait for another opportunity

Vesper avoids collateral damage and will always choose the course of action that causes the least amount of risk to innocent bystanders

Vesper tends to be a quick killer and avoids torture when unnecessary - HOWEVER, she does have an "eye for an eye" outlook and will often kill wrongdoers precisely the same way those wrongdoers killed someone else. This also means she makes an exception for her "no torture" rule when it comes to killing the raiders involved in the death of her older brother - she kills those raiders exactly, meticulously, the same way they killed him, no matter how long it takes. No "mercy killing" for those guys.

Vesper NEVER hurts animals. Like ever. If she has no other resort (like an animal is trying to kill her), she prefers to just stun them rather than hurt or kill them.

Ok so this isn’t really a question but I was thinking about possible plots for the third movie that have maximum phoenix and hangman (obviously) and I cannot shake the idea of a reunion of the daggers for some sort of secret mission

Now I know absolutely nothing about the navy but hear me out, the gang is called back in (hangman, rooster, payback, fanboy etc) after a plane went down in enemy territory and at the mission brief, it’s revealed, dun dun da da…. It was phoenix and Bob and there’s reason to believe they’re still out there

I have no idea if you’re open to prompt ideas so feel free to tell me to f all the way off but since they’ll probably never do something like that for the actual third movie, I figure the next best thing is the best fic rider for the ship

I’m sensing major opportunity for some Jake and Bradley begrudging partnership and fun dynamics all around

Ooh, this kind of sounds like Stealth but not shitty. (Does anyone remember how they recut the trailers for that movie to heavily feature Jamie Foxx as soon as he won the Oscar despite him being in it for like 15 minutes? Lol)

I take all of the "we've got a timeline for Top Gun 3, etc etc" talk with a grain of salt because it took them like 30+ years to make the sequel -- everyone else might be all about franchises but I know Tom Cruise isn't going to churn out a legacy movie just to churn it out without a decent script or someone promising him that he can fly a plane inverted in space. As much as I love TGM, I don't see where they'd realistically go with a third movie (nor do I necessarily need them to? End on a high note I say). In the same way that Ethan Hunt is still very much front and center of the MI franchise much to Jeremy Renner's chagrin when he thought they'd hand it over to him, I don't see them ever shifting the focus off Mav who will be pushing 70 at that point (it's okay for Tom Cruise, but I don't think the navy is letting That Old Man do All That Shit).

Thank you for your faith in my ability to write a backdoor sequel, but to be honest it was tough work to write action scenes when I was writing against the grain of dystopic claims so I might not be the one to write about a rescue mission that doesn't involve everyone just threatening to kill each other because they read the map wrong and are now going around in circles in the jungle. I also harbor a secret belief that if Phoenix and Bob ever went down and they needed to launch a second mission to save them, by the time our himbos got there, Phoenix would already have saved them both and they'd be sipping Mai Tais poolside at the closest Club Med. Extreme "I'm a damsel, I'm in distress, I can handle this" energy. If anything, she'd have to cut her vacation short to save the daggers who were supposed to be saving her.

But there is a sort of big damn hero moment coming up in can't fake what you can't break up with so hopefully that scratches the itch! (As an aside: to that anon who asked me last week about this fic, you kickstarted me working on that again with that ask. Of course now it's like 17k and I still haven't written that part that was holding me up, but the parts I did write make it flow better so thanks for getting the creative juices flowing! Turns out asking fic writers about their WIPs prompts them to write more stuff, go figure!)

"ALL HASRIA I HAVE AN ANNOUCMENT !" Uzui shouted "Me & Rengoku decied we all need a break so.. We're having a bar karaoke night!" "This is fucking stupid" Sanemi blurted out. I mean why do we have to we have demons to slay, he thought. "Can't I be excused? I'm not like you guys," the black haired man, Giyu said. "Nope! No exceptions EVERY hashira is going, whether you like it, or not." Uzui said proud that he can plan this.

TIMESKIP:

The hashria's came to the bar after 30 minutes of driving-. Which doesn't seem like a long time but- To Sanemi it was. And he mad the car ride 10x worse. But now ur here, KARAOKE, DRINKS, FOOD, CASINO! It read above the place. "Name?" the security guard asked Uzui, "Oh shit name? It's a group I'm sure i put in Hashria's, right?" Uzui spoke out. "Yes, ID's?" . After every hasria gave ID's they were in.

Almost immediately Uzui & Rengoku were on stage. "What would you like to sing?" The DJ asked "Hmm, Kyo choose." Uzui said. "OK! Cake By The Ocean?" "BRO! Fuck that kidzbop Ok don't do that let's do.. Without Me, Eminem." 20 minutes pass after they sang that & Sanemi was DRUNK!

"Yo Sanemi let's go up!" Uzui sugested thinking he'd say no, " Shit, Ight. You choose." Whats he's doing this?! Well this will be a memory imma do Blame It. Uzui pondered. "Song?" "Blame It, T-Pain HIm, Me, Jamie Foxx." Uzui said proudly. "SHINOBU! LOOK SHINAZUGAWA"S UP THERE W/ UZUI!!!" "Ohh.. Imma record this."Shinobu responed to Mitsuri.

The song started, "Blame it on the Goose Gotcha feelin' loose Blame it on the 'Tron Got you in the zone Blame it on the a-a-a-a-a-alcohol Blame it on the a-a-a-a-a-alcohol" A few minutes pass & Sanemi is up, "Girl, I know you feel good Just like you look , couple more shots You open up like a book, I ain't trippin Shawty, I ain't trippin' I'ma take a shot of Nuvo, shawty, didn't you know It's goin' down, we can go and kick it like Judo You know what I mean Shawty got drunk, thought it all was a dream So I made her say I, I Now she got her hand on my legs Got my seats all wet in my ride All over my ride She look me dead in the eye, eye-eye Then my pants got bigger She already knew what to figure Had her lookin' at her boyfriend like, 'Fuck, that-'"

TIMESKIP:

Sanemi passed out, they (hashrias) got him to his esate & he finally woke up. "uh? I thought we were at the club?" Sanemi says, confused. "Eh- what are you watching?" Sanemi takes uzui's phone & watches the video. OF HIM RAPPING! "What is this, Uzui?" he says before his part, then it comes. "THIS IS CGI, DAMMIT!" "Oh, is someone, flustered?" Shinobu giggles. The rest of the week everyone is mocking Sanemi.

Possibly one of the most tragic characters in this series, Vesper is also the most lethal and infamous assassin in all nearby galaxies, having built her reputation by bringing a brutally bloody demise to those who threaten or harm innocents. She was once an innocent and kind-hearted young girl who would have never dreamed of hurting anyone - but when the Junction sent raiders to pillage and conquer her planet, everything Vesper ever knew came crashing down around her. Traumatized by having witnessed the brutal death of her older brother, Atherys, after losing sight of their mother in the chaos, Vesper couldn't move on and eventually left everything behind - including her younger sister and their cousin - to pursue a path of revenge, going as far as to 'upgrade' her mortal body to that of an indestructible cyborg over the years. She became the most feared woman alive, bringing destruction and horror to those who did the same to her. But deep down, despite all her anger and bitterness, Vesper still has the same heart of gold and loyal spirit as she had all those years ago, which becomes apparent after she - unexpectedly - finds herself caring for the crew of misfits she begrudgingly joined. And this time, she'll be able to do what she was helpless to in the past - and keep this newfound family safe.

Appearance - Vesper has short and straight black hair, meticulously cut into a stylish yet practical bob. Her skin is pale white, having a peculiar mix of the paper-white artificial skin of her new robot/cyborg parts and her natural grey skin tone. Due to her "upgraded" physique, she is unnaturally strong - much more than any regular human would be able to be - while looking jarringly (when considering her superhuman strength) petite. Vesper has sharp rows of teeth, like a shark, but her smile - which is an incredibly rare sight, since she has an infamously bad mood - is incredibly kind and soft. Her eyes were once pitch-black, but due to her cyborg implants, they now glow a bright neon blue, having the capability to zoom in on targets like a camera and - on rare occasions - connect to databases. Vesper is 5,2ft or around 159cm. Her outfits are typically dark, practical, and bulletproof, often in combinations of either dark grey, black, dark green, or just pearl white, depending on her mood, and her combat boots have motorized wheels on them that give her incredible speed.

W.I.P Wednesday

Had an idea to put Rosénali in a Baby Driver AU just because Denali looks great as a waitress and having Rosé as a badass driver with leather gloves seems really hot to me. Don’t know if I’ll continue on with it because it’ll only be a oneshot and probably not of much substance. But I’ll see how the reaction with this goes or whether I just keep vibing with it.

She was new. After years of working in the same diner with the same crowd, Denali could easily tell when it was someone’s first time through the door. 

Either way the new woman stood out with her pale pink hair and leather jacket. So different compared to the elderly crowd in their tweed coats and cheesecutter hats. With a face so gorgeous that Denali is sure she would remember if she’d seen her before. 

The woman sits alone, earphones in, staring out the window. Seeming far too awake for how she normally sees customers this time in the morning. Though maybe that could be because of the cup of coffee beside her, the level getting lower the more she sips at it. Denali should refill it. 

“So, are you just starting your day or did you just get off?” she asks as she tops up the cup.

The woman scoffs a little, humorously. “Well, I don’t know if I ever get off. They call I go; you know?”

As if to prove the point, her phone suddenly buzzes on table and she picks it up until the vibration stops.

“So, what is it you do?” Denali asks, setting the pot of coffee down on an empty table.

“I’m a driver.”

“Oh, like a chauffeur? You drive around important people.”

“I guess I do” the woman looks sort of unsure.

“Anyone I know?” Denali rolls her shoulders playfully.

“I hope not” she says seriously, frowning slightly.

“Well, aren’t you mysterious?”

“Maybe” the woman winks flirtatiously, her previous demeanour wiped away.

“Maybe?” Denali laughs back. “So, when was the last time you hit the road just for fun?”

“Yesterday.”

Denali breathes out a long sigh. “I’m jealous. Sometimes all I wanna do is head west on 20 in a car I can’t afford with a plan I don’t have. Just me, my music and the road.”

“I’d like that too.”

A sudden cough sounds from the kitchen at the back, and Denali turns around to see the cook staring at her pointedly through the serving hatch. Perhaps she had been talking too long.

“Know what you want?” she straightens up a little, readying out her notepad.

“Your name” the woman requests, noting the absence of a name tag.

“Well, you can get that for free. It’s Denali.”

“Like the rock band?”

“I was thinking more like the mountain” Denali says, then she has a moment of confusion. “Wait, what did you say about a rock band?”

“Denali” the woman repeats. “I think I got some of their songs on one of these” she says reaching into her pocket to pull out another iPod.

“What? How many of those do you have?” Denali laughs.

“I got different iPods for different days, moods.”

Denali studies her as she starts to flip through the track lists. “What is your name?”

“Rosé” she looks up.

“Wait, what? Your name is Rosé? R. O. S. E, with the thingy” – Denali flicks her finger across the air, mimicking the accent – “Rosé?”

Rosé nods. “Yeah, just like the wine.”

“Your parents like drinking it?” Denali teases.

“Must have.”

“Denali!” the cook calls out to her frustratedly.

“Hey, uh. Play me their songs some time I don’t have to get outta here” Denali brushes her hands down her uniform, smoothing it out. “Deal?”

“Yeah, deal” Rosé confirms.

“Do you know what you want yet?”

“To get outta here.”
