“You should see the other guy.” Louis bragged instead of answering the question, opening the door further and gesturing Luka inside. He leads the other man into the kitchen where Fox is perched on the counter with an unamused look. Her little messenger bag of off-hour tools is sitting on the other end of the counter near the fridge, and she’s in her usual nighttime dark apparel, hair loose around her shoulders for now. 

She eyes Luka as he follows Louis in and Lou has to smother a chuckle at the way her annoyance at an unannounced visitor battles with ‘damn he’s cute’ across her expressive face. “You didn’t say people were coming over.” 

“Oopsie.” Louis laughs. “Fox, my boy Luka’s coming over.” 

“You wanna keep being a smartass or you want me to finish fixing your face before you guys go out?” She volleys back with a playful tilt of her head.

Lou’s voice drops to a feigned whisper to Luka. “Sassy today.” Turning back to Fox, Lou mimes zipping his lips with a wink to Luka. “Face, please.”

She smirks as he steps over to her, letting her warm brown eyes flit back to Luka. “Hi Luka. I’m Fox.”  

“My very benevolent, very kind-hearted roommate who fixes non-emergent injuries from time to time.” 

Fox smiles plaufully up at Luka. “Only because he pays half the rent.” 

“I’d pay it all, for the record.”

“Not a charity case.” she brushes past Louis’ comment. “You didn’t even ask your friend if he wants something to drink.” 

“Apologies, Luka, I’m a heathen- help yourself to the fridge.”
