I’m honoured to have been nominated for the Tim Olsen Drawing Prize at @unswada. Woo hoo! “Long drawing” is an interference technique I developed to stop myself from being precious with mark-making, agonising that what goes into my eyes doesn’t come out of my hand. I reduced my anxiety by blending several methods that inhibit the chance of photorealism: blind contour, continuous line, multiple pens, and minimum time limits. I also discovered a serendipitous random element when my hand smudged the wet ink.
