So i was looking for a game on switch that i couldn't remember the title of, for the past year???
And i couldn't quite remember the premise, i was under the impression that it was some sort of horror roguelike, with a Tim Burton aesthetic and a kid protagonist having to go around his house barricading it against the ghosts that were tying to come inside.
And many people suggested titles to me, some very similar but none was it.
So today i was looking at Ice-Pick Lodge's steam page due to my recent obsession with Pathologic.
And I FOUND IT.
It's called Knock-Knock!
Turns out it's no roguelike, the protagonist isn't a child (but the art style admittedly doesn't make it immediately clear) and you can't physically barricade doors (the barricading is done through fixing light bulbs).
I played it, finished it in around a hour and a half. Apparently i got the bad ending lol. I didn't fell in love with it, but i may replay it again for the good ending. It's short and automatically saves at every level, at least in the switch version.
Fascinating that both this and Pathologic have the philosophy of "don't hide from the horror, it's better to confront it head-on". I've only played three games of this studio, but the protagonist stopping the action WHILE A GHOST IS CHASING ME just to break the fourth wall, turn his head in my direction and explain shit about his life is peak IPL in a nutshell.

DHONI THE UNTOLD STORY
Mahendra Singh Dhoni, popularly known as MS Dhoni, is an Indian professional cricketer. Born on July 7, 1981, in Ranchi (which was part of Bihar and is now in Jharkhand), Dhoni has left an indelible mark on the cricketing world. Let’s delve into his remarkable journey
Personal information Full name Mahendra Singh Dhoni Batting Right-handed Bowling Right-arm medium RoleWicket-keeper-batter
Accidental introduction to cricket
As a child, Dhoni was always into sports. He was a district-level badminton and football player. His football coach sent him to fill the position of a wicketkeeper on the school cricket team. He played well and soon bagged a permanent place in the group. This ignited his passion for cricket. Dhoni started focussing more on cricket after his 10th grade. He was very passionate about cricket and wanted to prove himself in this sport His father was not very fond of his son’s growing interest in cricket. He was of the view that there is no future in sports. However, Dhoni was clear-sighted about what he wanted for himself. He struggled against the rigid opposition from his father for prioritizing cricket over studies. But he was confident about chasing his dreams. So, going against his father’s wishes, Dhoni fulfilled his dreams instead. After that, he became a part of the Commando Cricket Club and an Under-16 championship. After this point, he pursued cricket seriously, but life had other plans for him.
Breakthrough
The next match was his shot. Luck played in his favor the next time as he was selected for the Pakistan series. In the second match of the series, he scored a massive 148 off 123 to finally establish himself as a known face of the team. After that, there was no looking back. There were a lot more to come. His immense talent gained recognition, and he led the Indian team to the ICC World Twenty 20 Trophy in South Africa. Team India successfully won the trophy by defeating the Pakistani team. He accomplished his talent and made a mark for him self. Dhoni is the only captain to win the ICC Trophy, ODI World Cup, and Champions Trophy. His leadership is something that is celebrated across the country. Fans regard Dhoni as one of the greatest captains the team has seen. Despite his massive popularity, people knew him as a calm, cool, and composed persona. It must be because he has seen life getting hard and that aggression does not lead to rational decisions.
MS Dhoni’s achievements

In 2011, Dhoni etched his name on the list of 100 most influential people in the world through his persistent efforts and hard work. Virat Kohli Continues With Blockbuster Performances In Big Tournaments, Encouraging Signs For India Ahead Of T20 WC
Following the conclusion of the Indian Premier League (IPL) campaign for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), the biggest positive for the franchise and Team India is the form of batter Virat Kohli, who reinvented himself with a more attacking gameplay, especially against spin and once again delivered in a big tournament.
After 15 matches, Virat has ended his IPL campaign as the Orange Cap holder for the most runs in the season. He has scored 741 runs at an average of 61.75 and a strike rate of 154.69, with a century and five half-centuries. His best score is 113*.
What stands out is his strike rate of 154.69, his best-ever in an IPL season and the total of 38 sixes that he has hit, equalling his six-tally of 2016 IPL in which he had blasted 973 runs in 16 matches with four centuries and seven fifties at an average of 81.08 and a strike rate of over 152.
Heading into the ICC T20 World Cup, Virat is the most in-form player in the national side and him playing all games is a no brainer. In the 2023 season of the IPL, he scored 639 runs in 14 matches at an average of 53.25 and a strike rate of 139.82, with two centuries and six fifties. His best score was 101*.
Combining his statistics across both seasons, he has scored 1,380 runs in 29 innings at an average of 57.50 and a strike rate of 147.43, with three centuries and 11 fifties, best score of 113*. This makes him the most consistent batter across both the 2023 and 2024 seasons, which he has played after India's loss to England in the ICC T20 WC 2022 semifinal by ten wickets, after which, India moved on to youngsters. Virat was only recalled for the series against Afghanistan this year in January, where he scored 29 and 0 in two games.
Virat has also been magnificent for India across all big tournaments, ever since he returned from a break back in August 2022 during the Asia Cup. He had taken a break after months of poor, inconsistent returns with the bat and made an immediate impact in the Asia Cup, scoring 276 runs in five games at an average of 92.00, with a century, two fifties and best score of 122*, then his first century in three years. He ended as the second-highest run-getter in the season.
The 35-year-old took his brilliant form to ICC T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia, which he kickstarted with an incredible 82* in 53 balls against Pakistan at a jam-packed Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) in a tough 160-run chase. He stood tall at the top of the batting charts with 296 runs in six games, average of 98.66 and a strike rate of over 136. Four half-centuries came out of his bat, but he still could not take his team to the title.
After some fine performances across bilateral cricket, Virat proved his undeniable mettle in T20 cricket with 639 runs in IPL 2023, ending as the fourth-highest run-getter even though his side could not make it to the playoffs.
As the focus shifted towards the ODI World Cup in India that year, Virat scored a century in the Asia Cup against Pakistan, ending the tournament with 129 runs in three games at an average of 64.50 and the trophy in his hands.
The Cricket World Cup in India saw Virat delivering an all-time great campaign, smashing records everyday match-day, including breaking his idol Sachin Tendulkar's record of most runs in a single World Cup and 49 ODI tons. In 11 matches, he scored an unbelievable 765 runs at an average of 95.63, with three centuries and six fifties. His best score was 117, but even then, the gold went to Australia in the final.
Now with a 741-run IPL, Virat has proved himself as a batter to watch out for in the T20 World Cup. Across these big tournaments, he has made 2,846 runs at an average of 71.15, with eight centuries and 23 fifties. His best score has been 122*, which came against Pakistan in the Asia Cup last year.
Since his comeback in Asia Cup 2022, he has scored 3,007 runs in 59 international matches at an average of 58.96, with 10 centuries and 17 fifties. His best score is 186. Including his IPL numbers, he has made 4,387 runs in 88 matches and 92 innings, at an average of 58.49, with 13 centuries and 28 fifties.
With T20 WC coming up, Virat's numbers across all the format look encouraging and all hopes are on him to deliver a title-winning campaign for India.

"I Am Very Tough Guy To Handle": Gautam Gambhir's Blunt Message To KKR Bosses
Gautam Gambhir's captaincy had once helped Kolkata Knight Riders carve its own niche with two IPL titles in the last decade and as the former India opener starts his new journey as a 'Team Mentor', the endeavour is to put them in a better position compared to current situation. Turning fortunes of a beleaguered outfit is nothing new for Gambhir, who had taken KKR's charge during the fourth season of IPL after the Shah Rukh co-owned team failed to reach the knock-out in first three.
Tumblr media
"I can assure you that whenever I leave this place (KKR), we will be in a much better position," Gambhir said in a promotional event ahead of the upcoming IPL season.
The dashing former left-handed opener paid his his gratitude to KKR and its owner Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan and his team for their immense support over the years.
"I want to make one thing clear. I didn't make KKR successful, KKR made me successful. KKR made me a leader," he said.
Someone, who wears heart on his sleeve, Gambhir could be a real short fuse and it will be interesting to see what kind of working relationship does he forge with another volatile but very successful domestic coach Chandrakant Pandit.
"I'm a very tough guy to handle. I have to thank SRK (Shah Rukh) and (Venky) Mysore (Managing Director of KKR) for putting up with my tantrums all these years." Gambhir, an elected MP from East Delhi, known for his straight-talk, said the day he joined KKR, Shah Rukh gave him a free hand. "He (SRK) told me the same thing that he had told me when I joined as a player. 'This is your franchise, make it or break it.'".

This blog will look at all ten IPL teams, their strengths and flaws, notable players, and prospects for the next season.   The Mumbai Indians The Mumbai Indians (MI) are the most successful IPL side, having won the competition five times in a row. The squad is captained by Rohit Sharma and has a strong core of Indian and international players. MI's batting is its strongest suit, with players like Rohit, Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan, and Hardik Pandya capable of scoring rapid runs. MI's bowling attack is headed by Jasprit Bumrah and Trent Boult. MI's Achilles' heel is a dearth of competent spinners. In recent years, the club has leaned on Rahul Chahar and Krunal Pandya for spin bowling, and both players have showed potential. Yet, if one player has a bad day, MI may suffer. Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Suryakumar Yadav, and Trent Boult are the key players. Prospects for IPL 2023: MI will be one of the favourites to win the IPL once again. The reigning champions will be difficult to overcome with a formidable batting lineup and a devastating bowling attack.   Chennai Super Kings (CSK) Another great IPL team is Chennai Super Kings (CSK), who has won the league three times. Tata IPL2023
Tumblr media
The 2023 mega auction of the IPL took place in Bengaluru in December. The most expensive player was Sam Curran, bought by Punjab Kings for ₹18.50 crore (US$2.3 million), the most-paid player in the history of the league. Ahead of the auction, all the IPL franchises published their list of retained players in November 2022. Some of the big names that were retained in the 2023 edition include MS Dhoni, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Sunil Narine, Glenn Maxwell, Andre Russell, and Jasprit Bumrah. Gujarat Titans are the defending champions.
Tata Group retains as the title sponsor of IPL 2023
The IPL Governing Council announced the new IPL season after the IPL 2023 auction was completed. Aside from the promise to be bigger, better, and more enthralling, Tata Group was announced as the new title sponsor for the Indian Premier League. Tata Group replaces Chinese mobile manufacturer Vivo as the title sponsor for the IPL 2022 and 2023 editions. In 2018, Vivo came on board as the title sponsor till 2022; however, due to tensions at the border, the contract with Vivo was paused in 2020.
New rules in Tata IPL 2023
The BCCI stated that it "will preserve IPL's position at the forefront of innovative cricket and continue the growth of the T20 format" in a memo announcing the new umpire signal and rules of the Impact Player.
The BCCI has informed franchises that following the toss, as was recently implemented in SA20, captains may select their playing XI. Before the toss, the captains were required to declare the starting Eleven. Expanding the DRS's scope to include wide balls and no balls is another new regulation. The rules of the game specify that "a player may also be permitted to review any decision made by on-field umpires concerning wide or no ball."
The Biggest Change in This IPL is the introduction of Impact Player. This is how the rule will play out. According to the BCCI, “The captain will identify the impact player to the umpire, and the umpire will signal in the manner as depicted in the above image indicating that the Impact player is being introduced. Teams can name four substitutes, or impact players, in their squad for a match in addition to my playing 11. One of these may be used as a substitute during the match.
It adds, "The Impact Player can be introduced (i) before the start of the innings; or (ii) after completion of an over; or (iii) in case of a batter, at the fall of the wicket or the batter retiring at any time during the over (as provided in Clause 1.8 (iv) below). The bowling team can also get an Impact Player during the fall of the wicket, but that Impact Player will not be permitted to bowl the remaining balls in that over if the wicket has fallen mid-over."
Changed Format- 10 clubs divided into two groups
IPL 2023 Format: The IPL 2023 edition will follow the same format as last year, but the venues will change. The IPL 2023 format details are as follows:
Two groups of five teams each are created from the ten teams.
The groups and who plays who in each group once and twice were chosen at random.
Each team competes in 14 games during the group stage, playing the other four teams in their group twice (once at home and once away), the other four teams once, and the remaining team twice. IPL Points Table System: A team that wins a game receives 2 points. There will be no points awarded to the losing team. In the event of a tie or a deadlock, both teams will receive one point.
After the group stage, a four-game playoff series using the Page playoff system is played. In the playoffs, there will be four games played:
First qualifying round: the matchup between the top two teams from the group stage.
Between the groups' third and fourth-placed teams, in the elimination round.
Between the loser of Qualifier 1 and the winner of the Eliminator is Qualifier 2.
Final: between the qualifier 1 and qualifier 2 finalists.
Chennai Super Kings (winners in 2010, 2011, 2018, and 2021)
