I do enjoy the fact that each faction gives Rook a couple of unconventional familial figures.

Antivan Crow Rook gets the perpetually together-and-split-up Teia and Viago, whose love languages are bickering and poisons. Rook is Viago's favourite and he would never admit it to them, even if Teia is all too happy to expose his affection with her playful barbs.

Mourn Watch Rook gets Myrna and Vorgoth, the former of whom is akin to a college professor who found a baby in their science lab and the latter of whom is most definitely one of those mysterious executors from across the sea but it's fine because they're just Vorgoth and nobody questions it.

Shadow Dragon Rook gets T4T icons Tarquin and Ashur, a Templar who absolutely despises his job and the literal Black Divine, whose anti-slavery group is so full of queer people it may as well be a gay club. Same bickering energy as Teia and Viago, minus the poisoning and cyclical divorcing.

Grey Warden Rook gets Antoine and Evka, the most married wardens to ever exist. Antoine is the absolute sweetest man alive, and the only Orlesian allowed ever. Evka is incredibly competent and has everything under control. Their dates end with explosions. Everything is perfect.

Veil Jumper Rook gets Irelin and Strife. Strife is battling Viago for the grumpiest and meanest dad award. Irelin is clearly the golden child and favourite sibling and he makes that clear to Rook.

Lords of Fortune Rook gets Isabela and Rowan, a pirate turned allegedly somewhat ethical treasure hunter and Rivaini seer who regularly convenes with spirits. Neither of them are parents to Rook, they hold the most insane much older cousin energy though.

DPxDC Prompt #18

Inspired by reading this prompt from @nerdpoe and my brain randomly deciding to mash it with this prompt and reblog from @stealingyourbones and @moodycow210. Basic premise is the Nerdpoe prompt with the backstory of the Bones prompt. Do read those for full context of what my brain was trying to do here.

Danny was sent on a mission by Clockwork and missed his window back home, getting stuck in a vast, dark (twilight), oceanic place; with only the company of fish-like beings that can only communicate empathically very basic desires and intents.

After a while of panic and searching for a way back, he ultimately settles in and waits for rescue, occupying his time by playing with and training his powers. He discovers an ability to shapeshift and decides to make his form into something more comfortable and camouflaged for where he is.

The form he settles in to is somewhere between human and fish. Hands and claws and fins and webbing and gills.

It saves his life when Danny loses his hold on his ghost form, discovering that the changes transferred over to his living self.

And Danny waits.

And waits.

And drifts along, avoiding the attention of anything with teeth and intent to eat, while searching for his own meal.

And forgets what he's waiting for.

Danny has been there so long now. His memories of before are nothing but vague, indistinct impressions. Like the shadow of the other creatures that sometimes brush against his own. When the green, swirling thing appears in front of him, he almost swims away from it. But something about it brushes him, like those shadows of before. It calls to him, urges him to approach, to swim through.

On the other side of the green thing is light. So much light. It's so bright. And full of fish. More fish and more light than he can remember ever seeing before. The other fish swim around, swimming with a suffocating shadow of urgency and fear. And the green thing is gone.

Confused and disoriented, he cannot avoid the massive thing, like a strange tangle of kelp vines, sweeping through the water collecting anything that does not avoid it's path. It pulls him and many fish up and up and up. To a place too heavy to swim, where some instinct has him changing the way he breathes from his gills to his mouth and nostrils. He didn't know he could do that. And yet, some part of him is quite certain that he did.

There are strange shapes beyond the strange vines. They bark noises that brush against those shadows of memory, but he does not understand them. He should, he knows he should. He should understand a lot more about this situation than he does. But he doesn't.

"Is that one of them fish people?"

"Looks like it. Seems a young one too."

"Should we toss it back?"

"Why? Pretty little fish, bet we could find a buyer. He oughta fetch a pretty penny. Might even get nough to actually retire."

So 3 main points I will choose to address here

Tajikistan, is a country. While it is not the most famous country in the world, I spelt it for you, so idk how you managed to fuck it up like this.

Tajikistan has internet. I have access to internet. I'm a trans person in one of the most violently transphobic nations there are. I have it better than most, but to the shock of no one i did seek out one of the known trans-accepting communities online.

Tajikistan is in Central ASIA. Not africa. Idk how I'm appropriating African struggles. But like. what?

I think it's incredibly important to remind folks on testosterone or folks who want to reverse patterned baldness about their options, but man, does it sometimes suck wondering how much of our insecurities about our hair stem from backwards beliefs that to strive towards beauty is not only preferable but "makes you good."

As someone with a rather masculinized body pre-medical transition, patterned baldness has always seemed neutral. Hair is incredibly important (hell, much of my own energy is spent on my hair because I like it), but the pressure to have hair, to have hair the "right way" is something that I absolutely loathe.

I'm not here to judge people who don't want patterned hair loss or baldness, I'm here to say that those traits will never make you lesser. Not only is it neutral, but it is also just as worthy and beautiful.

Contrary to popular belief, Mobei-jun is actually a pretty chill guy. Not much of a talker but pleasant company nonetheless. It's just the second he steps a foot outside his territory he is constantly overheating to the point of nausea. He can mask the discomfort but the sensation of being boiled alive makes him a tad more stab-happy than he is by default.

still thinking about how Taash is the only companion written by Trick Weekes and apparently her Deluxe Edition weapon is labeled Grief and in the promo picture with the whole gang she was the only one looking at the camera and how out of all the companions she is the one we know the most little about. no chapter in Tevinter Nights. no cameo in the comics. just enigmatic silence.

LISTEN, you should watch Fangs of Fortune because it's beautiful, because the cast is wonderful and their chemistry is deep, because the acting is TOP SHELF, because it's a story about life, love and how delicate and intricate the bonds between those you love (and hate) can be. Because it's the best use of found family I have ever seen. Because the OST is incredible.

Because you will meet a demon who wishes for death and the one person who can claim his life and then you'll meet the family he makes, the people who will eventually make him want to survive, inspite of what fate has planned. It will rip your guts out but it will also heal your soul.

Can we just talk a little about this unholy unity of Li Lun and Zhuo Yichen? Just look at him :D Why does he look so hot)) And those bare arms, in a show where everyone is so deliberately clothed in multi-layers (apart from demons who are veeeery bad, hence, they can show their sexiness as much as they want).

Anyway, that's it, that's all I have to say XD

And while we're on this bad-demons-look-so-good topic, let's throw in a few of them sizzling hot baddies to the mix. Because no one pulls the bad demon look quite like Zhao Yuanzhou's Inner Demon :3

went to a preview of a new immersive theatre experience and on the way out a woman on her bike stopped me and asked what was going on and half an hour later I'm standing in the street going "AND THEN IT GOT EVEN STUPIDER!!!!"
