spent the last half hour of my work day trying to figure out accessibility solutions for a disabled butterfly
#she was missing a pair of legs#very symmetric so i believe it was a mutation not an injury#erupted from her crysalis this morning a little short#baby was very clumsy and having a hard time butterflying#walked her around. got her to some flowers. helped her get a Big Sippy#found a good lantana bush with a lot of flowers for her to hang out on#I'm not sure how long she'll live. with how uncoordinated she was she had trouble climbing on flowers and flying straight#and i doubt she'll be able to dodge if a lizard decides to see if she's tasty#but she lived today#she was beautiful and alive and i saw her and held her#sometimes life is short. ephemeral.#sometimes all you can do is hold a butterfly up to a flower#slice of my pizza life
