#734: back in the day, there was a craze for tattoos among royals. allegedly, the Grand Duke Alexis of Russia was the most decorated, but it was a trend all over the world, with tattooed royals including Queen Olga of Greece, Prince Valdemar of Denmark, King Oscar of Sweden, King Edward VII of the UK and his son George V. the funniest example of this craze involved a random Scandinavian (a randy scandy, if you will) called Jean Baptiste Jules de Bernadotte, who was a revolutionary alongside Napoleon as a Marshal of the republic empire. he somehow ended up as king of Sweden and Norway and during this time he never let anyone see his naked torso. upon his death, they discovered (after him being king for 24 years) that he had a tattoo saying "death to all kings". an aside: Valdemar has nothing to do with Voldemort. the latter comes from french meaning "theft of death".
