@potentialgood — starter call — Aziraphale & Sarah
"If you or your handsome friend learn anything, you know how to find me." There's a certain nonchalance in her words, to the point it is almost impossible to guess how much of this sentence Sarah Fortune means. This was, after all, hardly a matter she particularly looked forward to getting involved in—But her curiosity and knack for finding the right opportunities might get the better of her.

An all-knowing, flirty hum slips past Sarah’s lips as Vi’s words seemed to confirm her girlfriend was not the pirate’s biggest fan. The redhead would not have expected otherwise, of course. Aside from the obvious, Sarah Fortuna had fashioned herself as an acquired taste, someone only a selected group of people would ever truly know. And for everyone else? There was the flirting, hair flipping, giddy laughter that made her look more like an inoffensive damsel who had stumbled upon her role as pirate captain. The image, of course, clashed entirely with Sarah’s own actions. These tended to be far more cunning than people gave her credit for, and far more threatening than her manners would have others believe. She could understand why Caitlyn might be averse to this contradiction, and frankly did not care enough to rectify how the brunette thought about her any time soon. It was far more useful to keep playfully teasing Vi about it. So she bats her eyelashes, eyes looking at Vi from over her shoulder. “That’s alright. This can be our little secret.”
Still, as easily as the playful jab comes to her lips, all lightness, flirty pout, and amusement drains away from her face at Vi’s gross misunderstanding of how Bilgewater works—At who Sarah was, and how she had to fight to get to this place. Bilgewater was her home. The island meant everything to her, and she had been working tirelessly, against a long list of people who would undermine her and questioned her credibility, to make it a better, more unified place. This was still a work in progress. In truth, Sarah had naively thought that blowing up Gangplank would be the solution to both her grief and Bilgewater’s political issues, but it had only been the beginning of both. For an instant, Sarah is back to being the little girl who lost her mother, and all the rage and vengeance she craved then fills her eyes, her body tenses. It takes a beat longer than she would have liked for her to remember she is in Piltover, talking to Vi, and that the other woman had not knowingly meant to prey on her greatest fear—that she’d become one of the very monsters she was trying to subdue, bleeding Bilgewater dry.
She cocks her head, letting the practiced flirty smile back on her lips as she pops one of her hips and makes a move to her right, to step around Vi. “Cute, but not quite accurate. I’m the pirate queen, you see.” The title feels odd in her mouth, as if she would always be fighting to earn it, but she figures this is both a term Vi will understand and something that can sound playful, with the right intonations. “I’m here for this,” she lightly pats the hextech strapped on her shoulder. “and it’s hardly my fault if your security systems failed and allowed me to borrow it.” Her smile widens, teasing and sprightly. “I’d offer to bring it back, if it helps your conscience?”

Vi's lips pressed into a thin, tense line as Sarah mentioned Caitlyn and she would've denied the statement had it been false. It's not that Caitlyn didn't trust me with other women but how would you react if some random woman, a criminal, flirted with your girlfriend in one of your places of work? "She won't know about this—well, she won't know that it was you who showed up." Vi closed her eyes tightly, having realized her mistake. That pretty much gave away that Caitlyn was weary of the woman and that wasn't what she wanted to entail.
She took a breath before she began to follow after the other and she picked up her pace to stand in front of her. "No, I don't. They don't usually show up here, which brings me to you. Why're you here? Not enough treasure chests and gold dabloons to steal back home?" Vi questioned. "Or did you bleed the place dry?" She wasn't actually aware of Sarah's home and what not. They had met once before this after all. Vi looked down at her gauntlets before she got in a more stable stance. "Whatever the reason is, you know I can't let you go."
Vi put her gauntlets up and they sparked lightly as they charged up. She didn't actually intend to hit Sarah but she wasn't in the mood to let the woman try to sway her with words like last time. She assumed it was one of her specialties and her looks only added to that. She was too beautiful for her own good. "Seriously, I can't be letting you steal hextech like it's some candy from a baby. Hell, it shouldn't be left alone ever but here we fucking are." Sometimes she couldn't believe the trust Piltover had in its non-stealing probabilities. The building was rather hard to get in but, like Sarah had just proved, anyone could find a way in.

❛ Oh, that is a hard look for a little thing like you. ❜ Sarah!!
“You’re gonna get us both in trouble.” — sentence meme
Little thing?! Did that man really have such a poor survival instinct that he called her little, and a thing? Jaw clenched as she eyed him down. Was he going to tell her to smile, next?
At that thought, the redhead placed a smile on her lips, a soft, amused grin she knew how to fake so well. Calling out the insult would have been an instantaneous reward, but waiting for the right time would yield much more satisfying results.
"I'm sorry. Were you going to tell me to smile next? Or is your survival instinct a tad higher than that?" Her smile brightens. "I know. Maybe there is a fair way to determine which of us is the little thing, to avoid any confusion?" Her tone is light, flirty, as if she were thoroughly enjoying this interaction. She had been underestimated before, and Johnny did not look that strong.

@lovehurried / Tia Dalma
“So, hypothetically—" All the best plans started hypothetically. At least, that is what Sarah would tell anyone who approached her right now, in that convincing, naturally flirty tone of voice she used in presence of those she did not trust quite yet (and sometimes of those she trusted, too). “—what would it take for a girl to be prophesied to find the cursed blade everyone on this island is after, before everyone else?”
With a swift move, Sarah places her elbows on the wooden table separating her from Tia, fingers interlocked, chin lazily resting on top of her hands. The room was dimly lit, lights flickering in the coming storm which many would no doubt brave in a doomed attempt at retrieving the blade. The weapon had been lost for what was allegedly centuries, its metal likely oxidizing at the bottom of the ocean somewhere between Bilgewater and the other Serpent Isles. Really, how likely was it to ever be found? And what fools would dare venture towards it even if this were possible, given the circumstances?
However, when a mysterious bounty appears, claiming this blade to be worth a hefty sum, it was bound to catch the attention of all the residents of the port city. Sarah doubted most were after the bounty. A cursed blade was too good an opportunity (too good a story) to pass up, which would have almost led her to believe this was a fake errand, crafted to lure the unsuspecting into the troubled sea. Except she had heard it before—As a child, this was one of the many stories her parents had told her. It was, of course, meant to be a cautionary tale, but in the mind of a young Sarah, it had felt more like a whimsical adventure. If the blade was not real and not oxidizing away, it was therefore either that someone wanted her attention, or that they were looking for something else. Now, this sounded far more interesting.
Besides, worse came to worse, she could always sell the sword to the highest bidder.
“I could cut you in by giving you the same rate as the rest of my crew, but you don’t strike me as someone who would do this for the money.” Lips purse. Maybe Tia was doing it for the money—But if she was, it suited Sarah just fine for Tia to believe Miss Fortune had misread her.

Light footsteps dance along the cold floor, in a careful display of who might be here. Stealth, of course, had its place and time, but this was different. This was Piltover, a city so high and mighty, raptured by its own progress and technological advances. They would, of course, send someone down to prevent theft, but these people would likely be as vain, their image as carefully curated as the city they were from. They wanted the performance and—for the sake of expanding her renown outside of Serpent Isles, so that Valoran would know who unified Bilgewater (or was trying to, anyway)—Sarah was willing to humour them.
There was more to it than that, of course. Image and reputations were always carefully curated things (even by those who didn't care. This still was a way for them to own their space), and Sarah did not have the option to buckle under the pressures that came with them. This was for her mother. Abigale would have, coincidentally, also been fascinated by the hextech weapon Sarah had just pocketed. This was not what Sarah was stealing it for—diplomacy in Bilgewater was a tedious art form rarely not involving weapons—but the thought still hang heavy around her, a twang of imaginary pain where Gangplank's bullets had hit her and left her for dead. The small cannon slung over her shoulder moved almost in unison with her as she turned around to face Vi—And chuckled, amused. "Got me?" She arches one of her eyebrows, the smile at the end of her chuckle still playing on her lips. "I don't think your girlfriend would like that, hmm?" Out of all the people they could have sent, Vi was by far the least Piltover, entirely due to the fact she had not been raised here. Time for another performance, then—And a far easier and more comfortable one to maintain than evading a Piltover enforcer. She was used to this, by now.
Light footsteps start heading up towards the door, blue eyes side-eying Vi with the same amusement as before. "You don't know much about pirates, do you?"

Being on the other side of a heist was weird. This wasn't the first time Vi had been staked out to catch some thief but it always threw her for a loop since she used to be the one pulling the heists as a teen. If anything, it's probably what made her scarily good at catching each criminal and it was probably why Caitlyn had assigned her to these specific missions. Sometimes Vi wished for more action though. She was a fairly punch happy girl and half the time she couldn't really throw a punch at these thieves without leaving some serious damage thanks to her gauntlets. Well, that's what Caitlyn worried about and with her technically being her boss, she figured she had to listen to her. Sometimes being good had its lows.
Tonight was no different though. Half the time, Vi had some sort of lead or info on their suspect but for some reason, she had no info this time round. She supposed the anticipation made the mission more exciting but also Vi didn't know who she was looking for. Vi usually also had a team to work with but Caitlyn had insisted a team wasn't necessary for this job and if she really did need one, Vi could just call for backup. Vi blew at a tuft of hair that had gone out of place as she hid away in an undisclosed location but once she heard the scratch of shoes again the floor, she sprung to action. The fighter tried to be stealthy about her actions but ultimately, her gauntlets gave her away and she couldn't do anything but lunge forward. "Gotcha—oh shit," Vi said as she lowered her gauntlet down. Caitlyn wasn't going to be happy about this. "Since when were pirates interested in hextech?" She asked the woman before her and gestured towards the locked up weapon that was now behind her.
