Hinton Ampner country house and gardens is a beautiful estate located in Alresford, England, that I visited a few years ago. I hope this shot from the Hinton Ampner gardens brings some joy to you this Sunday morning. We have a little cold spell here in Texas and it feels good to me to be reminded of the warmth, beauty, and abundance of spring and summer. I know that many of you go through much colder temperatures and lots of snow right now, so I hope my little square helps the ones of you who suffer from the winter to dream of gentler and less harsh conditions and find comfort in that. We did it! We booked a flight to Great Britain for this summer! I can’t tell you how happy this makes me. Of course lots can happen so that it doesn’t work out, the unpredictability of war in Ukraine, a new coronavirus variant etc., but I am sick and tired of putting life on hold for any longer, especially since we didn’t have a proper vacation since four years or even longer. The flights can be changed so if worse comes to worst we will do that. I am looking forward to the planning of the trip: Where exactly we will go, where we will stay, and what we will do. I hope to see plenty more beautiful cottages like this one (photo taken on a previous trip) and I am looking forward to sharing new photos from England with you! How about you? And so it begins… We have safely arrived in England and explored the nearby village of Castle Combe on the day of our arrival, which is close to where self catering cottage is located. I love how the British often let their houses be engulfed by climbing plants and surrounded by beautiful gardens. It makes the houses look so much more beautiful and cozy. I certainly would have no problem living in this one!
