What you’re saying is honestly such a fascinating part of c!Foosh’s character. Why does he choose to hold people who treat him wrongly even closer? Idk either, but I do have a theory.
Yknow how Foosh always goes on about patience to people? “I’m so patient with you, don’t make me lose my patience” etc. to me seems to be something he adopted as a response. Maybe it’s to oppose his past self’s apparently “hotheaded” behavior. He also always gives people multiple second chances. There has to be a reason for that. My current theory is that, after living for so long, he sees his past self in other broken people, which the dsmp is full of. That’s why he doesn’t give up on them now.
Strongly believe that the conversation with Tommy left a huge impact on him too with this.
So I think that we’re asking the right questions, but idk if we have the full picture yet because we barely know anything about c!Foosh’s past ;-; The solid answers to his behavior, why he treats his relationships with such care probably would be found there. Clearly guilt is involved, but we really don’t know exactly why, other than he was Totem of Death & in Sam’s history books being a bad guy who burned down a village. We don’t know why he keeps zombies in the basement either!!
And about the middle balance, I agree, it’s interesting. For him, it doesn’t look to be the willingness to violently canon death a bunch of people since he tries his best to avoid that as you said, which makes a tough situation with XD. But it’s not “let everyone walk all over me” ultra pacifist mode he was before, either. In my eyes, his balance seems like the ability to stand up for himself when he really needs to. When he stopped c!Dream from snooping into his chests and called out his sus behavior, when he finally put his foot down about c!Bad’s roommate status, talking back to DreamXD, and so on.
The balance also doesn’t stop his ideals of making a world full of peace with no fighting. This guy advised Q to make a National Peace Day! Of course at the time Q wasn’t having any of that, but duck man is changed now, he wants peace and friendship with his old enemies as well. Eret & Aimsey are the same, c!Bad was understanding of Sam Bucket... Maybe dsmp season 1 is heading to a peaceful end where people start to get along, I sure hope so lol
This discussion has been fun. Gotta love analyzing the behavior of block game shark :D
Let’s talk about how AMAZING the c!Quackity and c!Foolish dynamic has been
(links could break on mobile btw so open those on desktop)
At the beginning Quackity, hard-hearted, never expected to receive kindess from anyone, especially Foolish and Slime. Those two are the biggest reasons why Quackity started to open his heart again. And it really shows Foolish’s maturity, that he’d be willing to give Quackity a chance, and see this all as an opportunity to learn. He has learned a lot from him, even things like not regretting your past, which is something Foolish does.
Foolish forgave Badboyhalo and Antfrost for literally being the ones to murder him and became friends with them, so of course he’d also forgive Quackity. That’s just how he is. He believes in what Quackity stands for, what he can learn, and he’s really worked hard to support all this time.
Emotionally Quackity is impulsive and easily gets distressed, and Foolish grounds and calms him down with logical solutions. It’s like Foolish is the water to Quackity’s fire. Like when Quackity asked him to build the bunker, and when Quackity was upset when no one came to the grand opening. Yet, Foolish is still comic relief at the same time, which is a really interesting mix.
Quackity’s life was saved by Foolish no questions asked, as we saw in the finale. In doing so, denying c!Dream’s offer to sell out Quackity to die, which would have benefitted him. Plus he even chose to stick around after it was all destroyed and Quackity lost a canon life. Quackity needed someone, anyone to not abandon him for once and Foolish stepped up. That’s some true dedication.
Now that Quackity is on the road to changing himself for the better, they’re going to be amazing allies in season two :D
