Beth Dutton had strong feelings about many things, including her own sister. Beth didn’t have the greatest of outlooks on Ada, due to the fact of who her mother was, even though Ada had no knowledge of her own mother.

Ada had went to Beth’s office in Bozeman to take her something from John. “Beth?” She stepped in past her secretary. “Dad said this needed to come to you now.” There was no love lost between the two of them.

As soon as the door opened she could tell who it was without the addition of the voice. Just the foot falls felt forced, extra hard like the person was stomping. Just like the youngest and most immature of the Duttons, to throw a tantrum in an office building. In full view of the public. An apparent adult...

"Adeline, this is a place of work. Keep your clod-hopping to a minimum, okay? When mom said to pick up your fucking feet when you walk, she didn't mean try to make dents in the floor." Bethany Dutton said all this without looking up, stubbing out her cigarette. When the cold eyes finally came up she held out her hand for the packet, nonchalant. "I'd say it's been a pleasure, but..." Her head lolls to the side as she tosses the packet in her hand now, down onto the desk. "Why are you still here?" She asked, callously. "You do remember where the door was when you came in, right?"

Bethany Ann Dutton everyone. Every Dutton loves her, and everyone in the world fears her. She’s Cara’s only sister in primary verses, but also…her favorite. 😌

Beth and Cara

Like Kayce, Cara was part of the mother's favorite executive club. Doesn't matter if it’s in the main verse where Cara is a blood Dutton or if Cara is adopted in it, Beth and Cara are sisters. Beth protects Cara with everything she has in her, seeing that she's really the only one of the young kids that hung around the ranch. She sees like daddy and holds his values. She loves the lifestyle. Like Lee, Cara values what daddy values but unlike Lee, Cara can run and operate the place after daddy dies. She and Beth are alike in their savvy, cunning, and business forward approach to issues such as these. It makes both sisters equally matched during family squabbles, of which between just the two of them, is a rarity. Cara loves her sister just as fiercely as Beth is. Beth exists angry; as angry in her pain as she is angry in her need to be loved and forgiven - like every other child seems to get but her. This dynamic between them makes it more than likely they'll gang up on someone when they're both singularly angry with the same person. ( They do have differing opinions on Jamie, however, as Cara loves her brother regardless of his faults and hasn't had the experience with him that Beth had. ) I also see them being drinking and party pals.
