This is a FANTASTIC story. I love it. Here you go! <3 Jandy

It was your first day back at work after giving birth to little Arthur and you had been absolutely dreading it even though he’d be with your parents all day, and as Charlie drove you both to the station you couldn’t stop checking your phone just in case something happened.
“You remind me of what I was like when I came back,” he chuckles next to you, “I was worried something would happen to the both of you all the time, and I rarely had my phone out of sight.”
“This is torture,” you sigh.
“I know,” he breathes as he lifts his hand from the gear stick and places it reassuringly on your thigh, “it’ll be okay, I promise. We’ll do this together.”
You place your hand on top of his then lift it to your lips to kiss before gently placing it back down on your leg, and you take one more look at your phone before slipping it into your bag as you pull up outside the station. Your legs were shaky as you got out of the vehicle and you hold onto the open car door for a while before Charlie holds his hand out to you for encouragement.
“I can’t remember if I left the sterilised bottles out,” you mutter as you slowly shut the door and step towards him, “mum will-”
“Your mum will be fine, (Y/N), your dad’s there to give Arthur a cuddle if she needs to do anything. Stop worrying darling, come on, John and Sarah are very eager to arrange a play date with Betty, so how about we go see him first, hmm?” Charlie suggests in an attempt to make you feel more comfortable about going in.
“Yeah,” you nod, “okay then, I can do that.”
You walk through the entrance hand in hand, sign in together, then head to Charlie’s desk where Barnaby sits waiting opposite, and he gives you a wide grin as he stands to greet you, giving you a tight hug along with a kiss on the cheek.
“So good to see you here again (Y/N)!” John says, “we’re all very glad you’re back.”
“Thank you,” you smile, “it’s good to be here.”
You didn’t exactly tell a full lie there as you were indeed very glad to be back at work doing what you love, but it was also an extremely daunting prospect being away from your little boy for the first time to do a full working day. John of course already knew your reservations about it all thanks to Charlie letting slip, but they were determined to help you feel as comfortable with it as possible.
“You’ll settle back in in no time,” John reassures, “now, Sarah has been hounding me to get a date in the diary for Arthur and Betty to get together, and for us adults to have a little drink or two… When are you both free to come over?”
“Sunday? We could do Sunday couldn’t we?” Charlie suggests as he turns to you for approval.
“Sunday would be perfect,” you nod.
“Perfect, you bring the baby, we’ll get the vino,” John winks.
“Sounds like a plan, Sir!” Charlie grins, “I’ll just see (Y/N) downstairs, I’ll be right back.”
“No problem Nelson, see you later (Y/N).”
Charlie still grips your hand as you both walk down to the pathology lab and as you walk into your office he’s reluctant to let you go. The memory of what had happened when your boy was born had faded slightly, but now you were back on the job he couldn’t help but let the worry overwhelm him once more, and he’d specifically asked to be notified every time you had to go out to crime scene so he could keep an eye on you, or at the very least send and officer he trusted to go with you.
“Charlie, you can let go now,” you chuckle.
“Sorry,” he sighs, “sorry.”
“Don’t be. Please stop worrying about me, I’ll be fine. And you don’t need to send anyone out with me if I get called upon...”
“How did you…?”
“I have my ways,” you smirk, “don’t worry.”
“I can’t help it, what happened was-”
“It’s in the past. Come here,” you exhale as you open your arms out for him, “I love you and I’ll be safe. But I certainly wouldn’t be adverse to going on a case with my handsome husband...”
“I’m sure that can be arranged,” he says softly as he nuzzles his face against your neck and kisses you, “I can smell Arthur on you.”
He leans back with a happy smile and you stroke his face before kissing his lips and turning him to face the door.
“Off you go, Nelson,” you say sternly with a grin.
Your first day as fairly smooth thanks to the mountain of paperwork your cover had left you, so you were safely in the station all day much to Charlie’s delight, and when it’s time for you both to head home there was a sense of relief to see your little one again even though you’d received a lot of photos throughout the day thanks to your mum.
“I can’t wait to give him a cuddle,” you sigh as Charlie drives the two of you home.
“What about me?” he pouts playfully.
“I’ve given you about five today already!” you chuckle.
“How about a special cuddle?” he asks, wiggling his eyebrows at you as he briefly turns his head towards you while parking up outside the house.
“If my parents have got Arthur down for his sleep, then as soon as they leave you’ve got a deal… I could use a reward for spending the whole day at work rather than rushing home to check on our boy,” you reply.
You get out of the car and see Charlie with his hands together in prayer as you walk towards the house, his lips moving as he whispers ‘please be asleep, please be asleep’ over and over again. Your mum opens the door after seeing you coming and greets you with a wide smile.
“Hell-”
“Is he asleep?” Charlie interrupts you.
“Yes,” your mum laughs, “so we’ll make our exit before he wakes up again!”
“Thank you both,” you smile as your dad appears with his coat on already.
“We’re very grateful for you both looking after him today,” Charlie adds as they slip between you both to go to their car.
“It was an absolute pleasure,” your mum replies.
“He was such a good boy,” your dad adds.
“See you soon,” you wave as they walk away.
“Right, come on, before he wakes up!” Charlie hisses, pulling you inside the house quickly.
“Well this is romantic...” you say, rolling your eyes with a giggle.
“I love you more than anything, and all I’ve been thinking about today is marching down to your office, locking the door, and having you on your desk. You… perched on the edge of your desk… my head between your legs as I lick up your-”
A loud cry breaks through Charlie’s hushed whispers and the throbbing that had just begun between your legs suddenly stops as your instincts take over instead.
“Hold that thought,” Charlie says before running upstairs to see Arthur.
You laugh as he takes two stairs at a time, then slip off your shoes and coat before heading to the kitchen to see what there was for dinner, and soon enough the two loves of your life appear behind you with Charlie rocking your boy in his arms gently with a completely smitten grin across his handsome face.
“Someone wanted to welcome mummy and daddy home, didn’t they, huh? And in the process ruin daddy’s chances at making sweet sweet love to mummy...” he says, whispering the last part as if worried your baby would understand.
“Charlie!” you giggle, “oh, look at you both, I’m so in love with you two.”
“And we love you too, more than anything.”
Can i request a Charlie Nelson, like another addition to your story where the wife is the Forensics pathologist, returning to work, juggling home life, the new baby, and keeping Charlie reassured, just some fluffy domestic bliss. I love dad Charlie

Knee deep in organs and discarded pages, can a self-reliant forensic pathologist and a shy writer sort out the mess of their pasts in order to secure their future?

Before he grabbed his jacket and keys, he saw one last text from Betty.
Betty: Oh God. Sweetheart, are you okay?
Jughead: I don’t know. I have to go identify his body.
Betty: I’m so sorry, Juggie. Call me when you’re ready?
It didn’t seem real. He wasn’t sure what to feel, so he didn’t answer.

Aliens Invade American Horror Story: Double Feature
https://ift.tt/3zYVdUx
This American Horror Story: Double Feature review contains spoilers.
American Horror Story Season 10 Episode 7
On August 28, 1995, the Fox network turned to Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction host Jonathan Frakes, special effects guru Stan Winston, cinematographer Allen Daviau, and forensic pathologist Cyril Wecht as part of a never-before-seen special called Alien Autopsy: Fact or Fiction. The footage, released by UK entrepreneur Ray Santilli, was presented as an authentic autopsy of the body of a gray alien recovered from the 1947 Roswell, New Mexico UFO crash supplied to Santilli by a military cameraman.
Despite the Santilli “recreation” being a complete and utter fabrication according to any number of reasonable experts, the special was a huge hit. Alien Autopsy aired on Fox at least three times, with each airing getting higher ratings than the last. In this case, the truth not being out there didn’t matter. Alien Autopsy was popular, and it kicked off a debate about the existence of aliens that rages on to this very day (unless you’re Tom DeLonge). From a special on Fox to FX’s hit horror anthology American Horror Story, aliens continue to fascinate, repulse, and entertain us in equal measure.
One of the things about Death Valley is that, from the very opening moments of the episode, it completely knows what people want from UFO stuff. Namely, killer theremin, lots of blinding lights, weirdness involving electronics, and the occasional exploding head. AHS played a bit with alien tropes in the latter part of Asylum, but now it’s front and center, and these aliens aren’t as benevolent as the aliens who healed Sister Jude’s mind. These aliens, at least from what’s been shown so far, have ulterior motives.
More importantly than their motivation, these aliens make an immediate, scary impression. It starts with the swirl of dust devils outside Albuquerque, New Mexico as Dean Martin croons and Maria (Rebecca Dayan) gets dinner ready. The record skips. The lights flicker. Her son, who had been playing outside, disappears into a cone of white light. The house shakes and rattles, the record playing backwards, the clock rewinding, everything going haywire. When her husband comes home that evening, he finds his wife, suspended a foot off the ground, and with a raise of her hand and a rolling of her blank white eyes, his head explodes in a shower of gore.
With a 1950’s kitsch sci-fi pop of a bursting balloon as the foley, the exploding head takes just enough of the piss out of the scene to give it the appropriate feeling. Yes, it’s horrible and serious and a little bit scary, but it’s also a little bit funny, too Probably because it’s not happening to you.

5 Unusual TV Alien Abduction Stories

9 Alien Abduction Movies That Changed The Genre
By Ryan Lambie
The entirety of the set-up to this episode, courtesy of director Max Winkler, walks that line between campy and horrifying deftly, with every possible lighting and musical cue designed to evoke the golden age of black-and-white sci-fi mixed with bits of reality, like President Eisenhower (Neal McDonough) chain-smoking and lying about his health problems to an unbelieving Mamie (Sarah Paulson). The alien autopsy sequence reminded me of Fox’s special immediately, and the scenes in which the alien organism bursts out of the body cavity to attack the doctors was straight out of the 1950’s Blob right up until their heads exploded and Marie floated in to speak to the President directly.
That retro shooting style smashes up against the ultra-modern sequences of Kendall (Kaia Gerber), Jamie (Rachel Hilson), Troy (Isaac Powell), and Cal (Nico Greetham), who are possibly the most modern people who have ever lived. Even Kendall, who is swearing off smart phones and technology thanks to hooking up with her Luddite college professor Adam (Chris Caldovino). Kendall is suspicious of the rate of technology growth over the last 50 years and its effect on humanity. Unsurprisingly, this comes back in to complicate the plot, particularly after a technology-free weekend in Joshua Tree results in a large gap of missing time and four mysterious pregnancies for both men and women.
The script, from Brad Falchuk, Kristen Reidel, and Manny Coto, is solidly done. The modern-day 20-somethings are annoying, but not to the point that they’re too difficult to watch. They’re just annoying enough to feel like real self-indulgent, self-obsessed early college students, who are full of information and lacking in real-world experience. It’s nicely counterbalanced by the life experiences of Ike Eisenhower, who might not know a lot about aliens but is an experienced diplomat and military leader who is capable of seeing some terrifying things without losing his cool, unlike the college kids.
The balance between ultra-modern and retro is going to be crucial to just how Death Valley plays out. Both elements will be valuable to the story. It’s hard not to be charmed by the old-style sci-fi segment just because it contains so many elements expertly replicated by the design team and technical crew. The modern half will have to hold its own without leaning on genre tropes (aside from the Close Encounters aspects of the abduction sequences) and replicating classic sci-fi sequences like the Invasion of the Body Snatchers hand-raising and The Thing From Another World‘s very long hallways.
cnx.cmd.push(function() { cnx({ playerId: "106e33c0-3911-473c-b599-b1426db57530", }).render("0270c398a82f44f49c23c16122516796"); });
It’s a lot to live up to, but the teased connection between the initial Joshua Tree crash and the Joshua Tree abduction is strong enough to carry this forward with the momentum of Earth’s technological advances. Throwing in UFO greatest hits like cattle mutilation, Betty and Barney Hill, and experimental pregnancy to further combine all of the sci-fi alien tropes together only whets the appetite more for gray aliens and the body horror to come.

Hi! I wondering if you could help me find a fic that I have been dying to reread but I have seemingly lost it. All I know about it is that I believe Betty and Jughead live in NYC and that Betty asks Jughead tips on how someone would kill, then later on uses what he suggests to kill Jughead’s dad. Thank you so much!

Hello there! I know this fic well! It was a LOT of fun. Enjoy!! <3 Jandy

Boulder Rape, Murder Cold Case solved after 50 years
1970 rape and murder case of Betty Lee Jones has been solved
The suspect in the case died in 2019
The 1970 case of the rape and murder of 23-year-old, mother of two, Betty Lee Jones has been solved. Jones’ body was found just after 8:30 a.m. on Monday, March 9, 1970, by two Colorado Department of Transportation workers, down the side of an embankment on Highway 128, near the Boulder County/Jefferson County line. She had been bound, sexually assaulted, strangled and shot.
Ms. Jones was last seen alive at about 3:30 p.m. the previous day in the street in front of her home in Denver at 12th and York Street that she shared with her husband of nine days, Robert Ray Jones. The two had been together for less than a year, and had been arguing for two days, culminating in Robert Jones leaving the residence in his car, and Ms. Jones trying to flag down cars in the street near their residence. She got into a blue sedan that had stopped and was last seen in that car going southbound on York Street.
In 2006, the case was reopened and evidence which was recovered from Jones’ body was submitted to the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI). A male DNA profile was developed, but the suspect’s profile was not in the national Combined DNA Index System database. Six potential suspects were then developed, which included her husband, Robert Ray Jones, and DNA was obtained from each, through personal items, direct swabbing, or, as in the case of Robert Jones, from his parents, as he had died in 2000. None of those profiles matched the suspect’s DNA.
In 2019, the suspect DNA was submitted to a private lab, Bode Technologies, where a profile was developed. With the assistance of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Denver Field Office, the FBI’s Forensic Genetic Genealogy Team was enlisted to assist with the forensic genealogy aspect and helped develop a family tree. The suspect’s generation in that family tree was identified and more fully developed. All offspring were identified and eliminated, except one daughter, who was seen in a 1957 Denver directory, but no other identifying information was found.
The CBI, also working on the forensic genealogy, identified the woman, her husband, and her two sons, who would have been in their twenties at the time of the murder, and who lived in Denver at the time. One son was still living, but the other was deceased, in 1977. The living son was interviewed, and DNA swabs obtained. He then identified an estranged third brother, Paul, but did not know if he was living or dead, nor knew his whereabouts. The living brother’s DNA profile was compared to the suspect DNA and came back as “closely related” to the suspect. The FBI’s Genetic Genealogy Team was able to identify the closest common ancestors on the father’s side, focusing the investigation narrowly on the three sons.
The missing brother, identified as Paul Leroy Martin, was found to have died in June 2019, with no identified next of kin, except the living brother, and had been interred in Fort Logan National Cemetery. The court authorized an exhumation, and on April 8, 2020, the exhumation was conducted at Fort Logan and biological material collected. On April 9, 2020, Martin’s biological sample was sent to the CBI Lab, where a profile was developed, and a comparison made of Paul L. Martin’s DNA to the suspect’s DNA. On April 24, 2020, the CBI Forensic Sciences Biological Unit notified the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office that the sample collected from Betty Jones’ body and Paul L. Martin were a match, quantifying it by stating that the probability of selecting an unrelated individual from the general population who matched at the identified 18 loci was 1 in 3.2 sextillion.
Martin has no known link to Betty Lee Jones, and a close family member, who was living during that time, said the Martin name was not familiar to her and she did not recall Betty dating anyone by that name. The name was not in any of the original reports or in the original officers’ notes. Martin, according to his brother, did drive a blue, mid-to-late 1960’s Plymouth Fury sedan.
A Probable Cause Statement was submitted to the Boulder County District Attorney and was approved on May 26, 2020. In a murder case, such approval is required for the filing of murder charges against an individual. A murder charge will be filed if the District Attorney determines that it can be proven beyond a reasonable doubt. Based on the evidence and DNA analysis produced through this investigation, if he were alive today, Paul Martin would be charged and prosecuted by the District Attorney’s Office for the murder of Betty Jones.
The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office wishes to acknowledge and thank for their invaluable assistance: the FBI Denver Field Office, the FBI’s Forensic Genetic Genealogy Team, the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, Bode Technologies, Forensic Pathologist Dr. Daniel Lingamfelter and the Fort Logan National Cemetery. Without their assistance, the case of Betty Lee Jones would likely have remained unsolved.
“In addition to our sincere thanks to CBI, the FBI, and all the contributing scientists and investigators, I would like to personally thank Detective Steve Ainsworth for his diligent work and tenacity for solving this very cold case, which was so brutally committed. Steve has a long career, much of it dedicated to cold cases, and he does a wonderful job for these victims and their families,” Sheriff Joe Pelle.

Alix, my darling. I adore you. Thank you for these :)
⭐️- how do you get your inspiration? Inspiration is a fickle bitch. Let’s be honest here. I get a lot of inspiration from music, from the Bughead Family Discord channels (which, if you’re not on, I’d highly consider it!) and from fellow Buggies on tumblr. Sometimes inspiration can come from just chatting with friends and when it hits, I’m hard-pressed to let it go, even if I sit on it for months.
💻- three works of yours that are must reads: That’s a solid questions. Um. I’m sure that’s a better question for someone else to answer, but in my opinion, my three must reads are:
Murder, He Wrote (collab with @psychobetts) Summary: He wants inspiration. She wants a friend with a pulse. When the internet brings them together, neither is prepared for the immediate and undeniable connection. Knee deep in organs and discarded pages, can a self-reliant forensic pathologist and a shy writer sort out the mess of their pasts in order to secure their future? (9/11)
If There is Light  Summary: On their daughter's 18th birthday, Jughead reflects on his relationship with Betty and their journey of how they got to this day through a series of letters. [major character death - Betty is not alive in this fic, I know its a turn off to a lot of people, but I am super proud of this.]
Don’t Make Me Wait (so Long) Summary: She ached with a need so fervent it rattled in her bones, time and distance only settling it deeper. She needed him -- now. OR Jughead has been away at a work conference for two weeks. Betty decided to take matters into her own hands to encourage him home a little faster. [Rating: Mature. Smut, Kink]
Though, I am interested to see what you think my three must reads are!

Robert Maxwell set out to build a media empire. He ended up like a John le Carré villain embracing spooks across the world. Even his death is an enigma.
Ghislaine Maxwell, the most elusive figure in the Jeffrey Epstein ménage, grew up in a family of dissemblers. In fact, the family business was built on dissembling. (...)
Ghislaine’s father Robert Maxwell was one of the darkest and most mysterious men to appear in British public life.
Even his death remains a mystery. In November 1991 he disappeared from the deck of his yacht, the Lady Ghislaine, named for his youngest daughter, as it was anchored off the Canary Islands. (Like all Maxwell’s nine children Ghislane is French by birth—they were all delivered by the gynecologist sister of Maxwell’s wife Betty at a maternity home in Maisons Laffitte, a suburb of Paris.)
His naked body was found floating 15 miles away by a fisherman. Pathologists who performed post-mortem examinations disputed the cause of death. Two said he had fallen from the yacht after suffering a heart attack and drowned, a third said his heart condition had not been responsible, that he had fallen and drowned.
Throughout his whole life Maxwell concealed as much as he revealed. Outwardly he played the part of a charismatic businessman. But this performance was always based on an increasingly complicated web of companies with links that only he understood.
After his death it emerged that the Maxwell Communications Corporation owed money to 43 banks, with a total debt of more than $4 billion.
Seen through the eyes of forensic accountants it seemed like the life of a swindler and consummate con man. But the motivation behind it was more a self-created fantasy than greed. This was a pathology that I got to see myself, up close. (...)
In a series of meetings with Frost, which I attended, it became clear that Maxwell was in an obsessive pursuit of his own Great White Whale, in the form of the Australian Rupert Murdoch.
A bitter battle was about to erupt between the two men for control of Britiain's biggest-selling newspaper, the weekly News of the World. Murdoch won, and then outbid Maxwell to add a moribund daily, The Sun, to his Fleet Street stable, relaunching it as a racy tabloid in late 1969.
Murdoch made it clear that he intended to move next into television and Maxwell intended to beat him to it. When the government opened up a number of commercial television franchises Maxwell tried to enlist Frost’s help in bidding for one. Frost refused.
Murdoch launched his television empire without needing to win a franchise. He spotted the potential of satellite-beamed broadcasting and launched Sky in Europe and, of course, ultimately Fox News. Maxwell never got into television. (...)
In Maxwell’s head the contest with Murdoch never ceased. He did acquire newspapers, in Scotland and in London, where he bought a legendary tabloid, the Daily Mirror. And he followed Murdoch across the Atlantic after he bought the New York Post, by buying the New York Daily News.
But he had none of Murdoch’s editorial instincts. And the papers were financially hollowed-out as Maxwell juggled funds between the 400 private companies that he ran on the basis that nobody else, not even the two sons, Kevin and Ian, who were closest to him, would know how seriously they were building up debt.
After his death it emerged that Maxwell had looted hundreds of millions from the Daily Mirror pension fund. Eventually, with the help of the British government, the pensioners got half of what they were due. (...)
There are people who believe that Maxwell’s departure from the Lady Ghislaine was neither accidental nor voluntary. It was easy to conjure conspiracy theories—his life was in some respects like a John le Carré villain’s. His connections embraced spooks in London, Tel Aviv and Moscow.  But the clearest motive was the simplest: The game was up. There was no way out of the pit of debt that he had created. (...)

Yes we can help. This is a very new story - but it’s wonderful. Please make sure to review and tell the authors how much you love it!
Murder, He Wrote by @psychobetts & @shrugheadjonesthethird (2/? - T)
