#ford is my fav despite his faults

The end of journal 3 and the added pages in the book of bill made me emotional man, I just feel like Ford bottled up his bill trauma for years because he blamed himself for being a fool and getting manipulated and thus shouldered it alone. but his family is there for him and supports/protects him in their own way despite this

It’s an interesting contrast like. Ford and Bill are so similar and that’s made explicit in the book, but Ford grows and overcomes his issues and learns to open up and love and trust people again, meanwhile Bill is stuck in cosmic therapy because he can never do that.

Hello. I've been following your blog for more than a year or so by now (though I wasn't consistently checking in GF fandom) and I wanted to ask, what YOU view as Ford's flaws? I recall you talking about his lack of attention to safety measures and despite having read most of your Forderalist papers, I don't recall seeing a post you specifically listed them as a point of reference? (I love and relate to Ford a lot and kinda am bad with realizing my favs faults so...)

I don't tag my ford flaw posts as the forderalist papers, cause that tag is used for ford defense posts specifically, but his flaws are thus: The boy don't listen (Stan, Fiddleford)The boy makes assumptions Too Damn Fast (Stan, Bill, but in different ways)He holds grudges (good when dealing with Bill, bad for his self care and also for his relationship with stan) and in general is bad at forgiveness once you cross a certain line (again, good for dealing with bill but bad for his actually healthy relationships)Is perfectly willing to do bad things if he can justify it for the "greater good" (read: use it for the portal)(also, I'm talking about him stealing radioactive waste, not the hyper drive thing, that wasn't ford, just... Just pointing that out)He projects. Like. A lot. (did he underestimate mabel? no. Did he overestimate her? Yes. Did he project his own issues onto the kids? Y e a h)(arguably not a flaw so much as a trait that can have negative consequences but) BAD AT COMMUNICATING. HE DOESN'T TALK ABOUT HIS FEELINGS. THAT'S WHY HIS LIFE IS BAD. JUST SIT DOWN WITH STAN ALONE FOR FIVE MINUTES AND T A L K YOU OBLIVIOUS OLD OWL. STOP BY FIDDLEFORDS PLACE WHILE YOU'RE AT IT. Disrespects the hawktopus. Notice how the words "ego" and "icarus" are nowhere in that list
