2021 Ford Ranger Tremor is ready for your overlanding expedition
In recent years, not only have sales of pickup trucks increased, interest in overlanding — the phenomenon of off-grid adventure travel to remote destinations in specially prepared vehicles — has skyrocketed. This off-road pastime’s dramatic rise in popularity predates COVID-19, but today’s pandemic somehow makes the idea of zombie-apocalypse-ready 4×4 ownership suddenly seem like a sensible investment.

In any case, the Blue Oval’s product planners didn’t necessarily have Armageddon in mind when they came up with the 2021 Ford Ranger Tremor, but that doesn’t mean this pickup wouldn’t make for a good truck upon which to build out an end times overlanding rig. Even if you’re not a prepper, as far as social-distancing machines go, Ford’s go-farther 4×4 is better suited than most.
After a long hiatus, the Ranger reentered the North American market in 2019 and its popularity has been gaining steadily. Last year, despite the coronavirus hamstringing new-car sales, Ranger sales actually increased, with the model claiming the midsize pickup segment’s second-place sales slot behind Toyota’s Tacoma. There’s still a lot of daylight between the Ranger and Tacoma on the sales charts, however, and Ford figures much of the hill it has to climb is with the type of buyers who gravitate toward the Taco’s many TRD off-road models.

See all photos
Now, the Tremor isn’t a standalone model, it’s actually a $4,290 package that can be added atop the truck’s mid-grade XLT and range-topping Lariat trims. The Tremor starts by incorporating most of the performance and aesthetic hardware from today’s existing FX4 off-road package and adding Ranger’s Sport Appearance trimmings. Combined, those two option groups normally total about $2,000, so after spending a couple of weeks with this model both on and off-road, the nearly $2,300 cost premium for all of the Tremor’s additional gear feels like a pretty solid value.
Like other Rangers, the Tremor uses the same 2.3-liter EcoBoost turbo I4 mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. Good for 270 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque, this is still one of the torquiest and most modern drivetrains available in a midsize truck. The engine has more than enough oomph to tote this 4,571-pound pickup around and the stop/start tech is well behaved to boot.
The Tremor package is available exclusively on four-wheel-drive SuperCrew models with a five-foot bed.

Foxy suspension and a geometry lesson
The Tremor’s main upgrades are centered around the Ranger’s suspension, with the headliner being a set of expensive Fox 2.0 shocks, including more sophisticated remote-reservoir units on the rear axle which pair with Tremor-specific leaf springs. The front end gets new springs, too, along with different control arms and a thinner anti-roll bar for better off-road articulation. The steering system is tweaked, too, with unique knuckles to help accommodate the demands of the Tremor’s larger 32-inch General Grabber off-road tires which wrap a set of Magnetic-painted 17-inch wheels.
All of this new hardware yields a modest 0.8 inches of additional ground clearance for a total of 9.7 — slightly better than a Tacoma TRD Pro. Most of that increase is due to the larger tires, which also lend this truck a slightly more planted, 1-inch-wider stance. So equipped, the Tremor’s approach angle is 30.9 degrees, departure is set at 27.1 degrees and breakover angle is 24.2. Those are improvements of 2.2 degrees, 1.7 degrees and 2.7 degrees, respectively.
Spendy Fox 2.0 monotube dampers feature remote reservoirs for better thermal management on the rear axle.
Ford
On-road manners and visual tweaks
While these modifications are designed for off-road use, most of these trucks will still live on pavement for the vast majority of their days, so it’s good to know that this isn’t such an extreme setup that the Ranger’s on-road demeanor has been ruined. The ride is a skosh softer, and there’s a bit more body roll when attacking corners on dry pavement, but the difference is neither alarming nor offputting. If anything, the ride quality is actually more agreeable than the last Ranger I remember driving. Better still, the truck’s all-terrain rubber doesn’t drone on the freeway the way a lot of big-lug off-road tires can. The Tremor may be an off-road-focused package, but over the course of several weeks, I found it more than livable as a daily driver.
I even dig the subtle Tremor-specific visual tweaks. There’s a unique grille with red-outlined nostrils and the blacked-out bumpers and wider wheel lips give a bit more stance and presence. Look a little closer, and you’ll probably note the front steel skid plate, the pair of rear tow hooks and the running boards. The latter sit higher and tighter than the optional side steps you can get on other Rangers, but don’t worry, you can still unbolt ’em for better off-road clearance. There’s also a splashy, retro-look graphics package available, if that’s your jam.
The Ford Ranger’s interior is no great shakes, even with some Tremor-specific touches.
Ford
Dated cabin with a few extras
Inside, the Ranger’s cabin is largely the same as ever, which is to say, not very impressive. Yes, there are modest Tremor-specific touches like the script logos and suede-like panels in the seatbacks, plus a useful set of rubber floor liners and black dashboard trim. I also appreciate the six-pack of auxiliary power switches designed to easily accommodate extra lights, an air compressor or myriad other useful accessories. But otherwise, the interior feels pretty dated. Believe it or not, this XLT actually still has a switchblade ignition key (fortunately, Lariat trims get pushbutton start).
Even though Ford invested a bunch of money in Ranger when it returned to the US in 2019, it wasn’t a brand-new truck upon arrival, as the same basic generation had been selling overseas for years. Despite a bunch of upgrades meant to bring the truck in-line with the heightened refinement expectations of US consumers, the Ranger’s interior is the easiest way to date this truck. Its plastics are almost universally hard, its infotainment lives on a small-ish touchscreen that isn’t flush mounted and isn’t running the latest version of Sync. Even the last-generation F-150 feels far, far more advanced and substantial, let alone the freshly redesigned 2021 blockbuster now wheeling out of dealers.
To be fair, the cabins of midsize pickups are all quite disappointing these days, whether you’re talking Ford, Toyota or General Motors. Jeep’s Gladiator is somewhat better in terms of tech, but it’s very expensive. In fact, only the Honda Ridgeline really feels up to snuff all the way around, but because it’s a unibody, many buyers won’t even look at one. This Ranger’s cabin remains in the hunt, but interior niceness is a prime reason for potential buyers to consider stretching to even a lower-end F-150.
Lackluster fuel economy
If you’re thinking fuel efficiency is a good reason to go with this smaller truck, you’re going to want to think again. Partly because of its larger tires and blockier profile, the Ranger Tremor only manages a straight 19 miles per gallon across the board (city, highway and combined) according to EPA estimates. That’s a surprisingly stiff comedown from the standard Ranger 4×4 XLT’s 20 mpg city, 24 mpg highway and 22 mpg combined.
Incidentally, that’s also the same combined-cycle rating as a 5.0-liter V8-powered F-150 4×4, which gets 16 mpg city and 22 highway (let alone more efficient F-150 options like the 2.7-liter EcoBoost, diesel or PowerBoost hybrid). Again, these numbers are competitive within this segment, but not unlike the interior accommodations mentioned earlier, the Tremor’s efficiency comes across as disappointingly yester-tech.
The 2.3-liter EcoBoost isn’t much to look at, but with 270 horses and 310 pound-feet of torque, it doesn’t need to be.
Nick Miotke/Josh Krzywonos/Roadshow
Off-road performance and towing/payload
I spent a wintry day at Holly Oaks, a newly opened quarry-turned-off-road playland in metro Detroit to test the Tremor’s mettle. With a mix of hard-packed frozen ground and mud-and-snow slurry, this ORV park was a suitably tough test for this pickup. Better still, I enjoyed practically free run of the place, as it was closed to the public, enabling me to go back and try the same trails and obstacles in different drive modes while taking different lines to assess the truck’s full capabilities.
Like the FX4, the Tremor features Ford’s Terrain Management System, so you can poke a button and optimize the vehicle’s various drive and brake systems for whatever surface you’re about to roll over (it’s kind of like the dial-a-nap controller on your vacuum). Ford says it recalibrated the Tremor’s traction control for this model’s larger, knobbier tires for better traction on gravel and I found the system worked equally well in the slushy stuff as it did on the hardpack.
One thing that’s nice is you can cycle through TMS’ modes on the fly. I primarily relied on Grass/Gravel/Snow for hills, but when I was just having fun intentionally sliding around at speed on the flat stuff, I chose Sand mode (and occasionally Mud and Ruts) to allow for more wheelspin to indulge my adolescent need for rooster tails.
Like the FX4, the Tremor also features Trail Control, which is Ford’s low-speed, off-road cruise control for both ascending and descending hills at preset speeds from 1 to 20 mph. It’s really, really useful and confidence-inspiring tech, as it allows you to focus on steering the vehicle without having to worry about modulating the pedals. Combined with the Ranger’s other electronic aids and the Tremor’s upgraded hardware, the entire package is so capable that these assists ultimately remove some of the sense of challenge and accomplishment of off-roading. It’s nice to know it’s there, but sometimes, it’s just more fun to go manual and do it yourself.
At moments like this, a forward-facing spotter’s camera would’ve been really convenient.
Nick Miotke/Josh Krzywonos/Roadshow
That said, there are a couple of hardware tricks that I wouldn’t mind seeing on the Tremor’s spec sheet, including a front locking differential. A rear e-locker comes standard, but there’s no front-axle equivalent like a Chevy Colorado ZR2 or a Jeep Gladiator Rubicon, so you’re ultimately going to give up some ability when rock climbing. Fortunately, the vast majority of the time, you’ll never know it’s missing.
On the other hand, there’s one thing you will definitely miss while off-roading: a forward-facing camera. I didn’t have a pal to stand outside in the blustery cold to help guide me over and around obstacles, and when on steep ascents and descents, you can’t see over the hood to know what you’re about to crawl over. While it’s understandable that an older and more-affordable midsizer like the Tremor might not yet be offered with 360-degree camera coverage, a low-mounted front-facing camera would be mighty welcome and would provide a further point of differentiation from lesser Ranger models.
As it is, the Ranger’s tidier dimensions are inherently easier to manage off-road than a full-size truck. There’s less chance of scraping your fancy Cactus Gray paint in narrow forest passages and tight turns are easier to negotiate than they’d be in an F-Series, as well.
Off-road, you really appreciate that this turbo four has so much low-end torque and it’s great that the transmission has so many gears to choose from; you never feel like the EcoBoost is straining to get you through, even if it does sound flaccid compared to competitors’ V6 engines. All that torque helps on-road, too, delivering a best-in-class 7,500-pound tow rating or 1,430 pounds of payload in its 5-foot bed. Those numbers are right at the head of the class, and they’re important metrics when building an overlanding rig laden with lots of heavy gear.
Pricing and final judgment
So, the Ranger Tremor isn’t a high-speed off-roader like a Ford F-150 Raptor (or even the overseas-only Ranger Raptor), nor is it a hardcore rock crawler. This truck feels like it’s been designed to sit right in the middle capability-wise, which could have resulted in a vehicle that feels muddled and indecisive, like one that can’t figure out what it’s designed for. Instead, the Tremor seems like it’s found a capability sweet spot. It’s quite good at a variety of off-road disciplines and that makes it a better baseline platform for customizing if you haven’t decided what kind of off-roading you really want to commit to, be it desert bombing, overlanding or forested mountain ascents.
If you’re someone who off-roads a lot, the 2021 Ranger Tremor is big fun, but it isn’t cheap. Whereas a non-Tremor XLT SuperCrew 4×4 starts at $35,940 (including $1,195 destination), an XLT Tremor will run you $41,900 delivered — without extras. An option-free, top-trim Lariat runs $46,275 in your driveway, but it includes niceties like a B&O audio system, leather seats, navigation, remote start and adaptive cruise control. With options including the Technology Package ($995 for adaptive cruise, navigation, etc.), spray-in bed liner ($495), remote start ($195) and SecuriCode keyless-entry pad ($95), my XLT tester rings up at $43,680 delivered.
Overall, the Tremor is competitively priced within its segment (a Tacoma TRD Pro starts at over $45,000), but this Ford’s base MSRP is also really close to that of the new F-150 XLT 4×4 with a 5.0-liter V8. The F-Series is a much, much more advanced machine with similar efficiency.
Of course, not everyone wants or needs a full-size pickup and the number of buyers splurging on smaller, costlier, factory-backed hardcore off-road specials like this 2021 Ranger Tremor appears to be growing every day. In order to stay competitive, it’s important that Ford play in this space. And you know what? Despite this truck’s shortcomings, I still kinda dig it.

Ford unveils new Expedition Timberline; adds hands-free driving
Ford unveils new Expedition Timberline; adds hands-free driving
2022 Expedition Timberline SUV
Ford
DETROIT – Ford Motor on Wednesday unveiled a new off-road Timberline model as part of its updates to the 2022 Expedition SUV.
The new model features a freshened exterior design, increased ground clearance and other off-road features such as upgraded tires and a heavy-duty skid plate to protect the undercarriage of the vehicle.
It is the second Timberline model after Ford introduced the trim on the 2021 Explorer SUV with similar features.
2022 Ford Expedition Timberline SUV
Ford
With the new Timberline trim, Ford wants to capitalize on increasing sales of SUVs and demand for off-road-capable vehicles. The looks and features of such vehicles have become more popular with mainstream consumers in recent years.
The Expedition Timberline will be powered by Ford’s 3.5-liter EcoBoost V-6 engine that produces 440 horsepower and 510 foot-pounds of torque.
“Timberline sets a new standard with full-size SUV customers who need more passenger space, great off-road capability and a basecamp for life’s journeys,” Mike Kipley, Ford Expedition chief engineer, said in a statement.
In addition to the Timberline trim, Ford also introduced a blacked-out “Stealth Edition Performance Package.” Ford also will offer its BlueCruise hands-free highway driving system on its top-end Expedition Platinum for 2022.
The BlueCruise system allows for hands-free driving on more than 130,000 miles of dedicated highways in North America. It controls the vehicle’s speed and steering, while also monitoring the driver’s attentiveness through an infrared camera system.
2022 Ford Expedition “Stealth Edition Performance Package”
Ford
Ford’s system is similar to General Motors’ Super Cruise technology and would also compete against Tesla’s Autopilot.
The 2022 Expedition is assembled at Ford’s Kentucky Truck Plant in Louisville, Kentucky, and will go on sale in the first quarter of next year.
The company did not announce pricing for the 2022 Expedition. The vehicle currently starts at between $50,000 and $75,000.

2021 Chevrolet Tahoe First Ride: Chevy’s Plan to Beat Ford in Ride & Handling
General Motors owns the large SUV space with Chevrolet Tahoe/Suburban, which are by far the market share leaders—and if you add their brand siblings, the company can claim way over half of all sales. But the impressive new Ford Expedition, with its long-wheelbase Max variant and Lincoln Navigator sibling, has started eroding that market dominance over the last year. Their independent rear suspensions have afforded a more comfortable ride and roomier third row and cargo area for some time now, their feature content and fit/finish took a recent quantum-leap forward in the latest redesign, and the twin-turbo V-6 EcoBoost/10-speed automatic powertrains motivating the FoMoCo entries represent stiff competition for the GM brands.
Chevrolet is readying its response, which at long last features an independent rear suspension, revised gas V-8 engines, and a segment-exclusive inline-six diesel all mated to a 10-speed automatic (that shares its essential design with Ford’s 10-speed), plus a spanking new electrical architecture that should future-proof the Tahoe, Suburban, and its siblings for all foreseeable technologies likely to appear during its lifetime. I’ve just had a quick test-ride in a prototype T1 generation Tahoe kitted out with its top-shelf full air suspension, and I can tell you it’s poised to defend its high (sales) ground. Here’s why:
Different/Better (?) Independent Rear Suspension Design
Ford employs a five-link rear suspension comprised of two trailing links and three lateral links per side. Chevy has gone with a four-link design using one very long trailing link and one equally long (approximately 29 inches by my tape measure) lower lateral link that carries the spring/damper mount, plus two upper lateral links. That super robust long trailing link is said to afford better ride isolation, thanks to a huge and squishy bushing where it mounts to the body. (It also packages conveniently out of the way outboard of the frame rails.) The lateral links, by contrast, all employ harder bushings to resist cornering loads and provide sharper handling response.
Air Springs+Magnetic Shocks+IRS=Better Ride
Three suspensions will be offered on the Tahoe and Suburban—a base variable-rate steel spring coil-over-shock setup using passive hydraulic shocks; a mid-level one pairing the same springs with magnetorheological dampers; and a top offering with air springs and the MR dampers. These are fourth-generation MR dampers that feature lower internal friction and a change away from position-sensing to accelerometer sensors at each corner. This plus the vastly quicker processing speed enabled by the robust new electrical architecture greatly increase the performance of these shocks. Meanwhile, the air springs provide load-leveling, can raise 2 inches for off-road ground clearance, lower 2 inches for passenger/cargo loading, or duck down 0.8 inch for improved aerodynamics. They allowed the engineers to spec a lower primary spring rate for improved ride quality, knowing that simply by increasing the air pressure (to level the load) the spring rates increase to handle that load.
Improved Powertrains
While the displacement, power, and torque specs haven’t changed for the 5.3- and 6.2-liter V-8 engines, they’re significantly revised to include the Dynamic Fuel Management cylinder deactivation (which can selectively turn off between one and seven cylinders during any particular revolution as dictated by power demand). Our ride was in a top-shelf Tahoe with the 6.2, and I can confirm that this burly V-8 makes a much more joyful noise than the somewhat guttural bark of the EcoBoost six when all eight are pulling. GM’s tune of this co-developed 10-speed automatic seems every bit as savvy as Ford’s—at least from the passenger seat.
How it Rides
Chevy shuttled us around a familiar ride road that’s frequently used for evaluation drives at its Milford Proving Ground. We started out riding in a brand-new Ford Expedition Limited, and then ran the same loop of mixed road surfaces, rail-crossings, washboard, expansion joints, and the like in a top-trim Tahoe with the air/MR setup. We ran the route twice in the Tahoe—once in the comfort-biased default “normal” mode at the same speed we’d experienced in the Expedition, and again at higher speeds in “sport” mode. On the expansion joints it was difficult to tell much difference between the two. When crossing bumps and dips affecting only the left side of the vehicle, the Expedition tossed my head pretty violently while the Tahoe induced just the merest hint of a bobble in either mode. Chatter bumps in a corner sent the rear of the Expedition skittering outboard slightly while the Tahoe tracked through unfazed in both modes. And on the whoop-de-doos the Expedition often experienced a second or third up-and-down motion after the main event, while the Tahoe settled right down. I sensed remarkably little ride degradation in sport mode. We’ll be eager to sample the more mainstream suspensions closer to the Tahoe/Suburban’s mid-2020 on-sale date, but the MR shocks should be able to deliver many of the above attributes on their own.
How it Sits
While the Suburban only grows 1.3 inches (ending up 3.8 inches longer than the Expedition Max), the Tahoe is 6.8 inches longer (0.7 inch longer than Expedition). As a result, along with the more compact IRS that lowers the rear load floor by up to 5.3 inches, the Tahoe delivers darned near the same third-row seating comfort as the Suburban—certainly enough for this 5-foot-10-inch adult to ride in total comfort (which was not the case in the old knees-up Tahoe way-back.)
Potential Downsides
Official curb weights have yet to be disclosed, but we’re told to expect the new trucks to gain “between 50 and 200 pounds.” We’ll be eager to see if aero improvements, skip-fire engines, and the 10-speed can claw back the fuel economy penalty that additional weight would otherwise cause. Likewise, towing capacities have yet to be divulged and we’ll be interested to see how those air springs affect max towing. And finally, the IRS means there will be no more 2500 or 3500HD variants. No great loss as those have only been available to commercial and government buyers for some time, but those folks will be out of luck in 2021.

Why Ford Is Replacing Three-Quarters of its Line-Up
Ford CEO Jim Hackett has pulled the curtain back on his grand strategy for the iconic American automaker.
Among is goals—for Ford to sell more hybrid vehicles than industry leader Toyota within a couple of years; to turn over about 75% of its product line within the next few years; and for new trucks and SUVs to fuel a comeback and finance its progress into the era of autonomous vehicles.
And, as he told reporters, “We’re just going to run the company better.” In fact, streamlining its workforce and costs are part of what Hackett is counting on to help Ford make it back to its long-term 8% goal for profitability. But the most exciting aspects of his plan from a customer perspective are its new vehicles and innovation investments.
Part of Ford’s new strategy includes going all-in on hybrids to bring more capability to customers of our most popular and high-volume vehicles like F-150, Mustang, Explorer, Escape and Bronco—and serve as a hedge for customers against higher gas prices.
Ford plans to to amplify its “unsung” presence in hybrids by surpassing Toyota in segment sales by 2021, in part by putting battery power in its most popular vehicles—including the F-150 pickup truck, the Mustang performance car and Explorer SUV—instead of segregating them in separate nameplates, the strategy that Toyota first pursued with its groundbreaking Prius.
“We’re moving past hybrids as a science project,” Jim Farley, president of global markets, commented. “It’s become an accepted, reliable technology and we’re going to make it as desirable as an EcoBoost engine,” he said, referring to Ford’s engines that have enabled it to provide as much horsepower as earlier, larger engines but with significantly enhanced fuel economy.
Ford plans to drive SUV growth with two all-new off-road models: the new Bronco and in 2020, a yet-to-be-named off-road small electric utility, both designed to win a growing number of people who love getting away and spending time outdoors with their families and friends. The electric SUV will be “Mustang-inspired” and capable of 300 miles on a charge to better compete with Tesla and the German makes in sports vehicles.
Ford’s truck business will continue growing as the company adds new models and powertrains with an eye toward continued growth in high-end trims. Some highlights include: a new 3.0-liter Power Stroke® diesel engine for F-150 and updated version of the popular F-150 Raptor in 2018; the return of Ranger to the midsize truck segment and the debut of a new F-Series Super Duty in 2019; and a new F-150 with new hybrid powertrain featuring a mobile generator in 2020.
Ford also plans to grow its lineup of performance SUVs. Two additions to the Ford Performance lineup include the all-new Edge ST later this year, and an Explorer ST will soon follow.
Overall, Ford said it will have the industry’s freshest lineup by 2020, with an average vehicle age of 3.3 years, down from almost 6 years today. Among them will be four new SUV models, for a total of eight utility vehicles in Ford’s showrooms by 2020. They will include a vehicle that will resuscitate the iconic Bronco nameplate as well as a new mid-sized pickup truck that will bring back the Ranger moniker.
Ford recently overhauled its full-size Expedition and Lincoln Navigator and introduced a new, compact crossover, EcoSport. It has a new Explorer and Escape in the pipeline and a high-performance Explorer ST. “Trucks and SUVs are going to fuel our growth and profitability,” accounting for almost 90% of Ford’s sales volume by 2020, Farley said.
A decade ago such a thought would have been unutterable. Ford did a great job of overhauling its sedan fleet back then into a fuel-efficient force that stood the company well through the spike in gasoline prices late last decade.
But since then, Ford has seen other automakers take better advantage of the shift by American consumers to SUVs, though Ford did introduce an all-new version of F-150, America’s most popular vehicle, with a fuel-saving aluminum bed.
The company also has had to fight through a late start in moving into autonomous-vehicle programs and technologies, the brooming of Hackett’s predecesssor as CEO less than a year ago, and the departure of its North American chief in February after misconduct allegations.

Whether you associate it with the outdoors and adventure, or a notorious low-speed police chase, the Ford Bronco is an American motoring icon. But the last Bronco rolled off the line 24 years ago and was replaced in the Ford line-up by larger SUVs like the Explorer and Expedition. In that time, nostalgia for the two-door off-roader has only built and sensing that it could build a worthy competitor to the perennially popular Jeep Wrangler, Ford has brought the Bronco back.
The new Bronco, unveiled today, is actually a family of three different cars made up of the classic two-door version, a new four-door version, and a SUV variant called the Bronco Sport.
Pre-production versions of the all-new 2021 Bronco family of all-4×4 rugged SUVs, shown here, include Bronco Sport in Rapid Red Metallic, Bronco two-door in Cyber Orange Metallic and Bronco four-door in Cactus Gray.
The design of the new Bronco family is inspired by the first generation Bronco built from 1966-77. In fact, Ford’s designers started by taking the first gen Bronco into their studio and created a digital scan to serve as a reference.
“Similar to the first-generation model, Bronco’s square proportions, short overhangs and wide stance are optimized for off-road adventure,” said Bronco chief designer Paul Wraith. “The side profile features a flat, no-nonsense surface with clear-cut edges and robustly flared fenders. Large, open wheel wells are a modular design with a quick-release attachment for simple customization.”
Ford has clearly thought a lot about customization with the new Bronco, offering it in no less than seven different trim levels and 10 paint colors, with other options available to choose from.
The two-door and four-door Bronco come standard with a four-cylinder 2.3 liter EcoBoost engine that’s good for 270 horsepower and 310 lb/ft of torque, and can be upgraded to a 2.7 liter Ecoboost V6 that puts out 310 horsepower and 400 lb/ft torque. The Bronco Sport comes with a 1.5 liter displacement Ecoboost than can be optioned to 2 liters.
Fans of gadgets and gizmos won’t be disappointed. The new Bronco’s four-wheel drive is managed by something Ford calls Terrain Management System which features seven “G.O.A.T.” modes to adapt the car to different surfaces:  Normal, Eco, Sport, Slippery and Sand, with Baja, Mud/Ruts and Rock Crawl for off-road driving.
MSRP for the base two-door Bronco is $29,995, including $1,495 destination and delivery. Reservations for Bronco two- and four-door models can be made now for $100 at ford.com.
With more than 200 factory-backed accessories available at launch, this 2021 Bronco two-door prototype shows how owners can personalize their SUV to get more out of their outdoor experiences. (Aftermarket accessories shown not available for sale. The prototypes in these photos are not representative of production vehicle.)
Trail sights on the front fenders serve as tie-downs, reminiscent of the first-generation Bronco.
Modular doors on this prototype vehicle are among the Ford accessories available for Bronco two- and four-door models.
The four-door 2021 Bronco will have available removeable modular roof sections – left and right front panels, a full-width center panel and a rear section. Roof panels on both two- and four-door models can be easily removed by unlocking the latches from the interior to provide the largest overall open-top view in its class to take in the sunshine or to gaze at the stars at night.
Every Bronco comes with class-exclusive frameless doors that make them easier to remove than what competitors offer. On four-door 2021 Bronco models, all doors can be stored onboard with protective door bags. Rear quarter windows are also removable, as shown on this four-door Bronco prototype. All have exclusive cowl-mounted mirrors to maintain sideview visibility when the doors are removed.
All 2021 Bronco two- and four-door models offer a swing-out tailgate for easier access to the cargo area, as shown on this four-door Bronco prototype.
The all-new Bronco Sport Badlands series in Rapid Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat. (Pre-production model pictured.)
Prototype version, not representative of production model, of the all-new 2021 Bronco interior is highlighted by an available 12-inch SYNC® 4 system, optional leather trim seating, console-mounted transmission shifter/selector and G.O.A.T. Modes control knob. (Static display on private property with aftermarket accessories not available for sale.)
Customization details include an available leather-wrapped shift lever for the class-exclusive 7-speed manual transmission, as well as grab handles in this prototype version of the 2021 Bronco (not representative of production model). (Static display on private property with aftermarket accessories not available for sale.)
Pre-production versions of the 2021 Bronco, shown here, include Bronco two-door in Cyber Orange Metallic Tri-Coat and Bronco four-door in Cactus Gray.

2019 Lincoln Navigator Specs, Changes Design
2019 Lincoln Navigator Specs, Changes, Design –  Lincoln Navigator, the brand new and higher than ever, will quickly join the most important SUV market. It has been completely revised, which has resulted in one of the best luxury SUVs now available. The automaker has managed to merge luxury, functionality and modernity, all in one. However, after the arrival of the version 12 months 2018, the manufacturer will launch the new version a good way to go on sale on the 2019 Lincoln Navigator.
  2019 lincoln navigator
The Lincoln Navigator is an excellent family and off-road truck that offers a very spacious and comfortable cabin. He is also very capable and has a great capacity for towing. It is equipped with a lot of modern technology and offers an excellent space for loading. Under the hood, it has a powerful V6 engine that, given its size and compared to the competition, is economical enough. It is available as standard and as a long wheelbase version called Navigator L. In addition, it is available in four trim levels. These include the base Premiere, Select, Reserve and Black Label. The base model is the only version that will not be available in a long wheel version.
The Lincoln Navigator has arrived completely new with many updates and changes. All the exterior design has been revised, but it kept its large grill recognizable. The powertrain has also been improved by providing more power and is now lighter than before due to the new aluminum panels. The interior has also been revised to find a more luxurious and fun place to hang out.
And for the new 2019 Lincoln Navigator, it is almost certain that it will not change with respect to the current model, which has been completely updated. We also hope it is available in the same versions as the current browser. Its main rivals in the market will be Lexus LX 570, Cadillac Escalade, Infiniti QX80 and Ford Expedition.
  2019 Lincoln Navigator Design
In terms of exterior design, the 2019 Lincoln Navigator  will be hit the 2018 version yr design this is easy, polarizing and delightful. The massive mesh grid with LED logo supported by LED in the center dominates the front fascia. There are also a couple of large headlights equipped with LED lighting.
  2019 lincoln navigator Interior
The interior of the 2019 Lincoln Navigator  will be very spacious and luxurious. It has three rows of seats and is capable of carrying up to eight passengers. The second row of seats is available with two captains chairs or a bench for three people. In the third row, you can even place three passengers. The seats will be upholstered in leather. The cargo room provides 19 cubic feet of space. However, with the second and third rows folded, there is even a piece of 103 cubics. The long wheelbase navigator has even more cargo volume of more than 34 cubic feet. The board is large and elegant and has a large 10.0-inch touch screen with Sync 3 and Android Auto infotainment system and Apple CarPlay connectivity.
As for the equipment, the basic model will come standard with three-zone automatic temperature control, a reversing camera, 4G LTE Wi-Fi, six USB ports, satellite radio and Revel audio with 14 high-powered speakers. The Navigator Select model will add wireless charging, a heated steering wheel, a 360-degree camera and adaptive suspension. Premiere trim will feature a rear entertainment system, a panoramic sunroof and electrically adjustable front seats in 30 directions with massage function. The Reserve model will offer the Revel audio system with 20 speakers while Black Label comes with adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, parking assistance and more.
  2019 Lincoln Navigator engine
The 2019 Lincoln Navigator will have the same engine that powers the current model. And there is only one powertrain for all equipment levels. It is a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine with double turbocharger. This unit is capable of developing 450 horsepower and 510 lb.-ft. of torque. It will be combined with a 10-speed automatic transmission. In addition, you can tow up to 8,700 pounds. The Navigator will be available with a two- and four-wheel drive system. Also, with all-wheel drive, you get 16 mpg in the city and 21 mpg on the highway. With two-wheel drive, it has a power of 16/23 mpg in the city/highway. The Navigator L with two-wheel drive is estimated at 16/22 mpg while with AWD, it gets 16/21 mpg in the city unit. Auto route. Departure date and price The automaker has not yet revealed the exact date of the arrival of the 2019. Lincoln Navigator Its price should be the same as that of the 2018 model. 2020 Ford Police Interceptor Utility: Cop Tires, Cop Suspension, Cop . . . Electric Motor?
Odds are pretty high that if you get pulled over by the police in 2019, it’ll be by an officer driving a Ford. The Blue Oval claims to have a lockdown of 65 percent of U.S. police vehicle sales using 2017 figures. But it’s not resting on its badge: To stay on top of the bad guys and the competition, an all-new 2020 Police Interceptor Utility joins its fleet offerings that also include cop sedans, F-150s, Expeditions, and Transit vans.
Three powertrain options are available for the latest Ford cop SUV—a standard 3.3-liter V-6 with hybrid assistance, an optional 3.0-liter turbocharged EcoBoost V-6, and a 3.3-liter naturally aspirated V-6. The engines are all mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive that offers various traction modes, including one for deep snow and sand. According to Ford, the hybrid saves an estimated $5,700 a year in fuel, and running costs are obviously a huge priority for municipalities and fleet operators. The hybrid powertrain has an estimated EPA fuel rating of 24 mpg combined, which is a 41 percent improvement over the outgoing version powered by a 3.7-liter gas-only V-6.
Both the Michigan State Police and the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department have tested the new vehicle, which has a top speed of 137 mph, and Ford says the new Utility hybrid smoked the outgoing 3.7-liter model in the zero-to-60-mph sprint by 1.1 seconds and by 4.7 seconds when running from zero to 100 mph.
Ford states that the Police Interceptor Utility platform was engineered to incorporate the hybrid system and its lithium-ion battery, and that there are no tradeoffs in peace officer, perpetrator, or cargo space. The new Utility is also rated to withstand a 75-mph rear impact, and it’s built to handle chases over railroad tracks and the like. It can wade through up to 18 inches of water at 15 mph and up to 10 inches at 40 mph. Heavy-duty cloth seats, Bluetooth, LED headlights, a tilting and telescoping steering wheel, and a Class III trailer tow receiver with a 5,000-pound capacity are all standard.
Tech goodies include a factory-installed Police Perimeter Alert to keep officers safer while parked. Sensors monitor the vehicle and if motion is detected outside the vehicle, it sounds a chime, turns on the rear camera, rolls up any open windows, and locks the doors. Vinyl seats and flooring, collision mitigation, forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, and an on-demand rear camera are among the options.
Given that the Police Interceptor Utility is spun from the all-new, rear-wheel-drive based Explorer, it’s a good bet that all of the non-cop stuff listed here—the powertrains in particular—may preview what will be offered on the civilian version slated to be unveiled very soon.

Ford Is Replacing Three-Quarters of its Line-Up
Ford CEO Jim Hackett has pulled the curtain back on his grand strategy for the iconic American automaker.
