Because I've been obsessed lately and you seem like someone who puts a lot of thought into things I want your opinion. Do you think Shifty is worth revisiting at all? Ford made a lot of amends at the finale and post-canon in J3, and I'm wondering if his mishandling of raising Shifty is like his Venom situation?

oh god definitely, the whole raising a creature who turns out to be sentient for the purpose of testing a cryonics tube but also ford really did care for shifty at the time

and if i remember correctly, shifty's egg was from the ufo which is a whole can of worms that kinda gets swept aside immediately by weirdmageddon

(it's especially wild that the comics offhandly mention ford using the bunker again and i'm just is he just gonna ignore the whole literal image of your beloved nephew being frozen while screaming in terror???)

#i honestly dunno what direction they would take with it tho but the entire situation is kinda... pitiful #ford did intend to do something about shifty after the portal and honestly i wonder if abw!ford remembered it or not lmao #but also before the comics was released i always assumed the bunker was where mcgucket had gone to after nwhs #especially when they released the mcgucket puppet shorts with that as the setting #but it'd be fascinating to see his reaction to dipper!shifty too #(kjashda alex did say the comics are semi canon and we can take or ignore it and i dont really care for the first story in the first place)
