So if a witch had one of those brand new shiny forceband-controlled RC bb-8 droids, and wanted to somehow use it as a companion/familiar, how would I go about doing that? Maybe creating a thoughtform to be housed in the droid? Or maybe just putting energy into it and having it act as a patrol unit to guard my room? Something else? Its so life like, especially with the forceband

Super: Sphero BB-8 das verkannte Genie,

Warum finde ich das Produkt super? Aus meiner Sicht haben wir hier ein High Tech Produkt zum einen als reines Spielzeug zu verwenden und zum anderen als ein Werkzeug, mit dem Kindern (und Erwachsenen) die Grundlagen des Programmierens vermittelt werden können.

Von der Drag & Drop Programmierung bis zum Javascript. Man kann sich z.B. einen Parcours bauen, und dann den Droid so programmieren, dass der Parcours abgefahren wird. Dabei sind natürlich diverse Randbedingungen bezüglich Geschwindigkeit zu beachten, denn wenn er rutscht, dann ist der Weg nicht reproduzierbar, d.h. beim zweiten Parcours Durchlauf kann er vom Weg abkommen.

Weiterhin kann man z.B als zweiten Schritt einbauen, dass an bestimmten Stellen Ereignisse passieren sollen, z.B. Lichtwechsel, kurz stehenbleiben und drehen etc. Der Fantasie sind keine Grenzen gesetzt. Die dazu passende Smart App ist von Sphero und heisst „Sphero Edu“ (wie Education). Mit Hilfe dieser App kann man das Programm erstellen und in den Droid laden und natürlich auch auf dem Smartphone abspeichern.

Es dauert bei dieser App sehr lange, bis sie sich über Bluetooth mit dem Droid verbunden hat. Mehr Info zum Programmieren gibt es bei edu.sphero.com. Da wird zwar vor allem das Programmieren des Sphero Balls besprochen, aber auch BB-8 und alle anderen Druiden von Sphero lassen sich programmieren.
