Can't believe I'm saying this but I think society should bring back some marketing standards. If I have to see one more brand or company trying to be cool making an unfunny advert in the style of a shitty tiktok trend I'm going to fucking lose it. Go back to being obviously fake and annoying!! Go back to creators having a bit of text on screen saying #ad with free use music playing in the background! Stop with the blurring between entertainment and extortion! Aghhh!!
#wendys‚ dennys‚ Duolingo‚ and ryan air you will all pay for your crimes.#also dont get me wrong 'meme marketing' as its called has been around for decades now‚ but there has been such an evident and large shift#in marketing due to tiktok. the lines and rules behind what is declared an ad in a video have become more blurred and practically every#other post on all social media sites is a intentionally badly edited post-ironic type of meme trying to boost engagement and its annoying!!#anyways hiiiii tumblr <333#meme marketing#ramblings#im not gonna put this post in any proper tag because im kinda just ranting here but there is an interesting sociological conversation to#be had about this kinda stuff. in a way itll be interesting to see how this trend progresses - we've already seen ads like this on youtube#for years now‚ and spotify too‚ but as far as im aware it hasnt reached things like television and newspapers yet. possibly because of#the age demographics and target audiences of these things
