yay ask box open! your designs are so lovely so I am very curious, how do your design choices for all three of your characters play into their lore?
AHHHH TY!! Oh man this is a bit of a dense question bc these guys' designs are very interwoven
Relé's is maybe the most straightfoward one, mostly because I haven't done his post-campaign fit yet. He's descended from a powerful fey and a minor air elemental deity, and his heritage actually caused him some major issues due to his physical body struggling to reconcile the divine power of both sides. Hence, the asymmetric crystal chunks, the tree-like branches- to represent the fey bits, and the cloudy hair, from his air genasi part. If you lookj closely, his belt and neck-piece have a shiny iridiscent crystal there. It's actually bismuth, from Urion- a bismuth earth genasi. His post campaign fit also includes some parts alluding to Yxala, like the brass gear with an orange X-shaped crystal. The X-pattern in the hanging cloth is also related to her.
Uri's design (pre-campaign on the left, during-campaign on the right) has a lot more going on. The pattern on the inside of the poncho is actually shared with the one Yxala had inside her cloak in her first design (done by @zephyrbug actually!), as well as the lil metal piece in the poncho- which Yxala also had in said design. Relent was introduced later on, but the crystals in the little hair rings are meant to be reminiscent of him. Their BBEG design has a few more allusions- Notice the gears as a necklace and earring. The X-shaped hair thingie for the ponytail also belonged to Yxala, and one of Relés branch is tied around one of the locs. Even the tail burning at the tip ties to Yxala- whose tail is on fire lol. Some of these details were actually also Zeph's idea, who designed their final boss look!!
I still need a clean ref for Yxala's post-campaign fit, but you can see a few things on the one of the right! The left was my first reference of her, and things have been adding ever since. The bismuth horn is meant to honor Uri, and she got it made after one of the BBEGs broke the original. She's also got a Relé branch tied around a braid, and another one to hold her ponytail. There are veins of bismuth and orange crystal in one of her arms and left side of the chest, referencing both Uri and Relent- (Who being an eladrin, does have an orange form!). These came up after she was resurrected after the final boss. She's also going to have one of these gear earrings when I get to her final design. Even the braids were meant to reference Urion. She ranged from braiding most of her hair at some point to just a few sparse ones, but it's still there.
Her armor design had a lot of callbacks too, including to characters outside the polycule, and a large wirey gauntlet also related to Uri's entire thing with wires.
So, um, yeah, these three have a lot of little reocurring motifs between themselves!! I can't wait to get the final references done >:3 Thank you so much for the question, and sorry for the wall of text!

Old Godspeak : Dan
"Demya" is a modern Godspeak term that translates to a god/gods. However, in Old Godspeak, the word for a god is "Dan", which other than the "D" at the start is completely different. The reason for this is a simple case of languages merging.
In Farsonic, the original language of Eastern T'ummasil and southern Mizau, has the word Delthya. In Yal'Mori, the native and near-extinct tongue of Yah'shir, the word for god is Emphiteryas.
This is relevant as influence from Eastern T'ummasil and Yah'shir meant that the border lands began to merge the words, so in northern T'yva a god could be refered to with "Demphit" and in Western T'ummasil you could hear a priest refer to a god as "Delyah".
As the Third Empire continued on, New Godspeak sought to reunify the language as it was splintering on the edges of T'yva. Its unknown where Demya exactly came from, if it was a naturally emerging word or a merging of Demphit and Delyah, but it was indeed very useful in spreading the modern Godspeak language around T'yva Uris, as people felt the word was similar enough to their own word to naturally shift it into their vocabulary.
Note: Due to the prevelance of T'yvan scholars during the First Empire, a lot of the older gods have "Dan" appended to the end of their name, its unknown if that was their actual names or simply a deific designator.

So, my friend Alexis introduced me to The Amazing Digital Circus the other day, and I fell in love with it. It inspired me to ask the question, “What if my Romance The Backrooms characters were in The Amazing Digital Circus? What would their designs be like?” So, I drew it!
I’m very happy with how this turned out, and it made me feel more positive about my art overall, which is nice. If you want to read more information about the designs and how I came up with them, check that out below!
From left to right:
Adiel’s design is very simple—he’s a shadow creature, after all. I think I was subconsciously inspired by Gamecrazed from The Terrain Of Magical Expertise? I watched that show before it was revealed that Chris Niosi, the creator, is a terrible person.
Kalcal’s design was inspired by a popular backrooms entity—can you guess which one? I didn’t want to bring over all of his hair, so I kept that one hair loop that goes from his left side to his right side. I think it turned out pretty cute!
Zenobos’s head was inspired by soot sprites, sea urchins, & dandelions, and his body was inspired by stick figures.
Uri’s design was very fun! It was inspired by biblically accurate angels with a hint of Zooble’s design influencing it as well. His body is supposed to be a keyboard, with the flat/sharp keys each 1 of the colors of the stitches around his neck.
Carla looks the most human out of all of them. I don’t know if she’s actually a doll or not. I wanted to give her clothes that incorporated themes from her normal outfit, hence the ducks on the shirt and stars on the pants.
Glarence being a jack-in-the-box was Alexis’s idea, and I knew I HAD to do it, because Glarence would HATE being a jack-in-the-box. The specific jack-in-the-box his design is based on is a “Schylling Jester Jack In Box”. Look at my grumpy guy!

Paw (A KHR Fanfic)
Fandom: KHR Word Count: 1,006 Prompt: Paw Ship: None Characters: Uri and Gokudera Hayato Event Host: @flufftober
When Gokudera had been told he had one of the most powerful Vongola box weapons around he didn't believe it. However as he'd gone along and worked on unlocking every box in the Sistema he started to understand, he started to realize it really was a powerful weapon. Except one box he didn't think had any value at all.
Who the hell puts a cat in with a bunch of weapons? What good is a simple stupid cat anyway? Was it supposed to be just a pet? Was it put in there for a reason? Was it put in the box to serve a purpose at all? "Useless stupid cat!" He'd yell whenever Uri seemed to get in the way. But later he'd come to regret this.
Gokudera soon found out Uri was one of the most valuable assets he owned. His future self had been smart to help in designing the Sistema CAI and incorporate Uri's box into it. Each box opened contained a powerful weapon up to the last box of that flame, which unlocked a ring of one of the other five flames he'd unlocked and harmonized with, Storm, Sun, Rain, Lightning, and Cloud. The Storm boxes were his primary flame and possibly his most powerful weapons, including the Flame Arrow itself and that once believed useless kitten that he didn't understand why it was put in a box to begin with.
She'd hiss, growl, swat, bite and claw him so much Gokudera believed she hated him. Those tiny little paws of hers held razor sharp claws on the ends and Gokudera felt her wrath first hand and almost daily. When most people think of cats they think of adorable little balls of fluff with Christmas tree shaped little tails, and a cute high pitched meowing. That wasn't what came out of the box.
What came out of the box was a hissing, growling, ferocious little monster with flames on its ears and tail and many teeth that highly enjoyed biting him daily. Uri was and always would be feisty just like her guardian and with time Gokudera learned that it didn't matter if she was in kitten form or full blown leopard, he was no match for this little furball's wrath.
Cat paws were often seen as cute and soft, but everyone forgot about the razor sharp claws attached to them. It was even worse when Uri had grown with the activation of the Sun flame and her paw was big enough to deliver full blown smacks to his face and her claws would often tear him up.
However, as much as Gokudera argued with the cat and as many times he felt a claw to his face, he had to admit he loved Uri dearly and would be lost without her. He'd even gone off one night searching for her and wouldn't go to sleep until he did find the precious little box weapon. Thankfully she'd wandered off into Hibari's room and he was someone Gokudera knew would never harm an animal, in spite of his reputation for being bloodthirsty, he was gentle and kind to smaller, weaker creatures, the box weapons included.
It wasn't until he'd been face to face with the possibility of dying in battle in the future that he realized just how and why Uri was considered the most powerful weapon of the entire Sistema C.A.I. It was thanks to the Sun flame's activation factor provided by Garyuu when she was thrown to the Sun Kangaroo and landed in or near the knocked out kangaroo's pouch. Just like a mother Kangaroo protecting and healing her little joey, Garyuu protected and healed Uri as well and thanks to the added Sun flame's activation factor Uri showed off her true form and skills then. She wasn't just a fuzzy, cute little leopard cub, she was a ferocious, full grown adult leopard, Pantera Tempesta.
From the fluff on her tail to the size of her paws and the flames on her ears, Uri had grown up. She'd changed a great deal with the Sun's activation and Gokudera had to admit even he was impressed. He'd been wrong before, she wasn't just a useless kitten.
Gokudera had to admit he'd be lost without the cat, even if he thought she was useless and stupid before. He regretted ever thinking that about her when he initially opened her box. He understood why she was so harsh with him as well. Uri came from a time where he was older and more mature and that was the Gokudera she was used to, his calmer, more collected and grounded adult self that was already the Tenth Right Hand.
Ironic that Gokudera was now walking around with a plate of grilled fish and calling for the little kitten he'd once called useless. If he really thought she was useless he wouldn't be trying to chase her down so desperately and bribe her to come home like this, would he? Uri might have been small with tiny little cute paws, but with time and enough of the Sun flame's activation factor, she would grow into the greatest weapon of the Sistema CAI, the Pantera Tempesta, or the Storm Leopard.
From tiny paws to fangs and claws, Uri was and always would be one of the most precious weapons Gokudera ever had, as in his own eyes, she was and always would be much more than a mere weapon. What was once thought to be a useless kitten was a precious sidekick now and practically a house pet in the off time from combat. He never thought he'd see the day that he'd come home and she'd wrap her paws around his neck and cling to him like a baby, purring in his arms. It hasn't happened yet, but Gokudera could dream anyway.
Uri was and always would be a precious element of the Sistema CAI and even more, on top of that, she would always be a precious pet to Gokudera, paws, claws, jaws and all.

Really wish there was a standard format for local responsive documents. PDF is great for static documents, but what if I want to send someone something that'll look good on phones as well? HTML would seem to be the obvious choice for responsive documents that every device has a viewer for, but I haven't worked out a way to get local HTML sites to display properly on my phone – Neither Chrome nor Firefox recognise file:// URIs, Chrome doesn't display images or styling when opening from the file manager, and Firefox doesn't even show up there in the first place – so they're out too I guess.
It seems like you either have to drop responsivity (PDF) or portability (HTML), I can't see a way to have both. The other options that came to mind were ePub (which doesn't do styles) or Markdown (which you would convert to HTML if you wanted consistent styling anyway), and neither of which have anywhere close to the universality of PDF and HTML.
The last resort option would be making two PDFs, one at regular A4 page size and one designed with a page as wide as an average phone screen, but that seems annoying both to produce and also for the users.

Sabbath Regulations
1 Moses assembled all the congregation of the people of Israel, and said to them, “These are the things which the Lord has commanded you to do. 2 Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day you shall have a holy sabbath of solemn rest to the Lord; whoever does any work on it shall be put to death; 3 you shall kindle no fire in all your habitations on the sabbath day.”
Preparations for Making the Tabernacle
4 Moses said to all the congregation of the people of Israel, “This is the thing which the Lord has commanded. 5 Take from among you an offering to the Lord; whoever is of a generous heart, let him bring the Lord’s offering: gold, silver, and bronze; 6 blue and purple and scarlet stuff and fine twined linen; goats’ hair, 7 tanned rams’ skins, and goatskins; acacia wood, 8 oil for the light, spices for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense, 9 and onyx stones and stones for setting, for the ephod and for the breastpiece.
10 “And let every able man among you come and make all that the Lord has commanded: the tabernacle, 11 its tent and its covering, its hooks and its frames, its bars, its pillars, and its bases; 12 the ark with its poles, the mercy seat, and the veil of the screen; 13 the table with its poles and all its utensils, and the bread of the Presence; 14 the lampstand also for the light, with its utensils and its lamps, and the oil for the light; 15 and the altar of incense, with its poles, and the anointing oil and the fragrant incense, and the screen for the door, at the door of the tabernacle; 16 the altar of burnt offering, with its grating of bronze, its poles, and all its utensils, the laver and its base; 17 the hangings of the court, its pillars and its bases, and the screen for the gate of the court; 18 the pegs of the tabernacle and the pegs of the court, and their cords; 19 the finely wrought garments for ministering in the holy place, the holy garments for Aaron the priest, and the garments of his sons, for their service as priests.”
Offerings for the Tabernacle
20 Then all the congregation of the people of Israel departed from the presence of Moses. 21 And they came, every one whose heart stirred him, and every one whose spirit moved him, and brought the Lord’s offering to be used for the tent of meeting, and for all its service, and for the holy garments. 22 So they came, both men and women; all who were of a willing heart brought brooches and earrings and signet rings and armlets, all sorts of gold objects, every man dedicating an offering of gold to the Lord. 23 And every man with whom was found blue or purple or scarlet stuff or fine linen or goats’ hair or tanned rams’ skins or goatskins, brought them. 24 Every one who could make an offering of silver or bronze brought it as the Lord’s offering; and every man with whom was found acacia wood of any use in the work, brought it. 25 And all women who had ability spun with their hands, and brought what they had spun in blue and purple and scarlet stuff and fine twined linen; 26 all the women whose hearts were moved with ability spun the goats’ hair. 27 And the leaders brought onyx stones and stones to be set, for the ephod and for the breastpiece, 28 and spices and oil for the light, and for the anointing oil, and for the fragrant incense. 29 All the men and women, the people of Israel, whose heart moved them to bring anything for the work which the Lord had commanded by Moses to be done, brought it as their freewill offering to the Lord.
Bezalel and Oholiab
30 And Moses said to the people of Israel, “See, the Lord has called by name Bez′alel the son of Uri, son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah; 31 and he has filled him with the Spirit of God, with ability, with intelligence, with knowledge, and with all craftsmanship, 32 to devise artistic designs, to work in gold and silver and bronze, 33 in cutting stones for setting, and in carving wood, for work in every skilled craft. 34 And he has inspired him to teach, both him and Oho′liab the son of Ahis′amach of the tribe of Dan. 35 He has filled them with ability to do every sort of work done by a craftsman or by a designer or by an embroiderer in blue and purple and scarlet stuff and fine twined linen, or by a weaver—by any sort of workman or skilled designer. — Exodus 35 | Revised Standard Version (RSV) Revised Standard Version of the Bible, copyright © 1946, 1952, and 1971 the Division of Christian Education of the National Council of the Churches of Christ in the United States of America. leggooooo i have a basic plotline in mind for this pirate/treasure hunt AU revolving around the relics from the second part of the plot, i think i came up with a nice plot for Ameera but i'm still unsure on the design so i didn't add her yet SO BASICALLY i’m trying to keep loosely faithful to the main story , shari’s still a princess who’s got enough of court life , this time she found out there’s three mysterious legendary treasures that no one’s ever been able to find, she’s not after them for power or riches but wants to experience the thrill to be the first one to find them, too bad she’s not the only one looking for them (see the bad pirates as the cult guys) and her father refused to let her sail a royal marine ship cause it could get political if shit happens so she remembers about this commoner boy who used to sneak in the palace and claimed that his father was a pirate so she goes looking for him(aka nakir)accompanied by her attendant(ajmal, fun fact he suffers from sea sickness in canon) and finding out he has a ship of his own she offers him and his crew(including taru) a contract as corsaire/privateer to help her out, they also sneak uri on board since he’s very knowlegeable of old myths and legends(instead of being a chicken god) they’ll find pravaal and ameera on the way... pravaal is well yeah he’s just a merman (i was thinking merfolk here could switch freely between land and sea buut if they spent too much time on land they wouldn’t be able to revert or something like that idk, it’s an au, whatever) ameera is either also a princess or a nblewoman who shipwrecked on a seemingly deserted island and is looking for her husband and son who she lost in the shipwreck (it will turn out that the island she found herself on was the place where the ice relic was hidden and the island was calling for her) .... still unsure if uri will die here cause of the relic too.... maybe he will, maybe he will get cursed who knows who knows

Carey Mulligan and Bradley Cooper in Maestro (Bradley Cooper, 2023)
Cast: Bradley Cooper, Carey Mulligan, Matt Bomer, Gideon Glick, Maya Hawke, Sarah Silverman, Vincenzo Amato, Michael Urie, Greg Hildreth, Brian Klugman, Nick Blaemire, Mallory Portnoy, Yasen Peyakov, Zachary Booth, Miriam Shor, Alexa Swinton. Screenplay: Bradley Cooper, Josh Singer. Cinematography: Matthew Libatique. Production design: Kevin Thompson. Film editing: Michelle Tesoro. Music: Leonard Bernstein.
The Aussies call it "tall poppy syndrome." It's that tendency to try to undermine or underestimate the achievement of anyone who excels. And I think we saw it directed at Bradley Cooper when the first big wave of negative publicity came out from a critic from the Hollywood Reporter who saw the trailer for Maestro and called the prosthetic nose Cooper wore to play Leonard Bernstein "ethnic cosplay." The word "Jewface," analogous to blackface and "yellowface," labels for white performers pretending to be Black or Asian, was tossed about, as if Cooper were somehow guilty of antisemitism, or even depriving a Jewish actor of the role. Defenders came to the fray, including Bernstein's family, who indicated their approval of Cooper's choice, and others who pointed out that Cooper wasn't playing a negative stereotype, or even a character like Shylock or Fagin, but an authentic musical genius. But the damage was done, and the controversy continues to be a kind of scrim through which we watch and assess the film. I think much of it stems from the fact that Cooper is one of the most exceptional talents of our time, recognized for excellence as an actor, director, and screenwriter -- a tall poppy indeed. He has a total of nine Academy Award nominations in all three of those fields plus producing -- for Todd Phillips's Joker (2019) and Guillermo del Toro's Nightmare Alley (2022). He won a BAFTA for the music of A Star Is Born (2018), for which he wrote and sang several songs, and for which he also won two Grammys. He was nominated for a Tony in 2015 for his performance on Broadway in The Elephant Man. (One of the critics of the prosthetic nose observed that he wore no disfiguring makeup for the role of John Merrick, suggesting that if he's that good an actor, he should have played the role of Bernstein without the help of makeup.) All of this is preface to saying that Maestro is an exceptional film that only adds luster to an already distinguished career. It has been labeled a biopic, which is inadequate. Biographical films are usually distanced from their subjects, dramatizations of events in a career. Maestro is more intimate than that, a portrait of a man and a marriage. Cooper goes beyond mimicry of Bernstein in a serious effort to suggest the social and sexual and artistic tensions seething within the man. If I have to voice a criticism it's that he doesn't quite bring it off -- it's a little too much for any actor or screenwriter to achieve. But Cooper shows us the depths even if he doesn't plumb them. He wisely lets us have our own thoughts about something even Bernstein probably couldn't define about his sexuality: whether he was gay or bisexual, or whether that question is stupid and irrelevant. Carey Mulligan's performance as his wife, Felicia, brittle and burning, is a perfect match for Cooper's. If they don't have the chemistry that Cooper had with Jennifer Lawrence in Silver Linings Playbook (2012) or Lady Gaga in A Star Is Born, that's partly the point: The marriage of Lenny and Felicia was one of unresolved tension. Hence the epigraph for the film: "A work of art does not answer questions, if provokes them; and its essential meaning is in the tension between the contradictory answers." I have the feeling that Maestro will be remembered and studied for years to come.

Who is Bezalel in the Bible?
Bezalel is a significant figure in the Bible, known for his exceptional craftsmanship and his role in constructing the Tabernacle, the portable sanctuary that the Israelites used during their journey through the wilderness. His story, though not widely discussed in many sermons or teachings, offers deep insights into the relationship between God’s call, human talent, and divine purpose. In this article, we will explore Bezalel‘s life, his divine calling, his contribution to the building of the Tabernacle, and the spiritual lessons his story offers for modern believers.
Introduction: Bezalel’s Role in the Bible
Bezalel is a figure mentioned primarily in the Book of Exodus, specifically in chapters 31, 35, 36, and 38. He was chosen by God to be the chief artisan in the construction of the Tabernacle and its sacred furnishings. His skills and talents in working with gold, silver, bronze, wood, and precious stones were divinely given. What makes Bezalel’s story unique is that his abilities were not just natural talents but gifts inspired by the Spirit of God.
The Bible presents Bezalel as a person who exemplifies the intersection of divine grace and human skill. He is the prototype of the person who uses their gifts for God’s glory, showing how the Creator can work through human hands to fulfill His greater purposes. While many may remember the leaders of Israel like Moses and Aaron, Bezalel stands out as an example of how God can empower individuals with extraordinary skills to accomplish important tasks in His service.
Bezalel’s Lineage and Background
Bezalel’s Family
The name “Bezalel” is Hebrew, meaning “in the shadow of God” or “under the protection of God.” He was the son of Uri, the son of Hur, from the tribe of Judah (Exodus 31:2). This lineage is significant because Hur, his grandfather, was a prominent figure in Israel’s history. Hur is often identified as one of the men who helped Moses hold up his hands during the battle against the Amalekites (Exodus 17:10-13), and some traditions associate him with the leadership of the Israelites in Moses’ absence.
Bezalel’s family background connects him to the tribe of Judah, a tribe that would later be known for its leadership and royal heritage, with King David and Jesus Christ both coming from this line. Though Bezalel’s immediate family is not extensively described in Scripture, his connection to Hur and Judah places him in a lineage with a legacy of service to God.
Bezalel’s Craftsmanship and Skill Set
The Bible emphasizes that Bezalel was not only from a respected lineage but also possessed a unique set of skills that set him apart for a specific purpose. He was “filled with the Spirit of God, with wisdom, with understanding, with knowledge, and with all kinds of skills” (Exodus 31:3). This divine empowerment allowed him to excel in several crafts, including working with metals, wood, fabrics, and precious stones.
The text specifies that Bezalel had an extraordinary ability to design and craft intricate works of art, which would be used in the construction of the Tabernacle. This included the making of the Ark of the Covenant, the altar, the lampstand, the furnishings, and the curtains, among other components. His role was not only to make these items but to oversee the work of other skilled artisans who were also filled with the Spirit to help in the construction (Exodus 35:30-35).
Bezalel’s Divine Calling
God’s Direct Call to Bezalel
Bezalel’s calling came directly from God. In Exodus 31:1-6, God speaks to Moses and declares that He has chosen Bezalel by name to perform this important task. This is not just a random appointment; it is a divine election. God specifically mentions that He has endowed Bezalel with His Spirit to ensure that the work would be done according to His will and in accordance with the standards of holiness required for the Tabernacle.
This divine calling reflects an important biblical principle: God does not only call the spiritually “elite” or the powerful. He calls ordinary individuals, endows them with extraordinary skills, and uses them for His purposes. Bezalel was a skilled artisan, but it was God’s Spirit that made his craftsmanship sacred and suitable for the service of the Tabernacle.
The Spirit’s Role in Bezalel’s Work
One of the most remarkable aspects of Bezalel’s story is his empowerment by the Holy Spirit. In Exodus 31:3, it is noted that Bezalel was filled “with the Spirit of God, with wisdom, with understanding, with knowledge, and with all kinds of skills.” This is one of the earliest mentions of the Holy Spirit’s involvement in empowering individuals for specific tasks in the Bible.
The Spirit of God endowed Bezalel with wisdom and knowledge that far surpassed mere human capability. His ability to craft sacred objects with such precision and beauty was not simply a result of natural talent but was a reflection of the divine inspiration he received. This highlights an important biblical truth: the Holy Spirit equips believers for the tasks that God calls them to, regardless of whether those tasks are spiritual in the traditional sense or practical in nature.
Bezalel and the Building of the Tabernacle
The Tabernacle: A Sacred Project
The Tabernacle was the focal point of Israel’s worship during their journey through the wilderness. It was a portable sanctuary where God would meet with His people, a place of sacrifice, and a symbol of God’s presence among them. The Tabernacle was an incredibly detailed and intricate structure, and its construction required a high level of skill and craftsmanship.
The specifications for the Tabernacle, which are found in Exodus 25-30, included detailed instructions on how each item should be constructed, the materials to be used, and the specific measurements. Bezalel was entrusted with the monumental task of leading the construction of this sacred space. Not only was he responsible for crafting the Tabernacle’s furniture and utensils, but he also had to train and oversee other craftsmen who would assist in the project.
Bezalel’s Work on the Ark of the Covenant
One of the most famous pieces of craftsmanship that Bezalel created was the Ark of the Covenant, a sacred chest that held the tablets of the Ten Commandments. The Ark was to be constructed of acacia wood, overlaid with gold inside and out. It was to have rings for carrying poles, and a mercy seat was to be placed on top of it. This design was revealed to Moses on Mount Sinai and was to be followed exactly as prescribed (Exodus 25:10-22). Bezalel’s meticulous work in creating the Ark of the Covenant was vital because it represented the presence of God Himself among His people.
Other Contributions to the Tabernacle
In addition to the Ark, Bezalel was responsible for creating the Table of Showbread, the golden lampstand (Menorah), the altar of incense, the altar of burnt offering, the bronze basin, and the curtains that surrounded the Tabernacle. Each item had specific significance and symbolism that pointed to aspects of God’s character and His covenant with Israel.
The Tabernacle was meant to be a place of holiness, and every detail had to reflect God’s majesty and purity. Bezalel’s work ensured that the sanctuary was both beautiful and functional, honoring God with the finest craftsmanship.
Lessons from Bezalel’s Story
1. The Integration of Faith and Work
Bezalel’s story teaches us that work and worship are not separate; they are deeply intertwined. His craftsmanship was not secular work but sacred work. This principle applies to all believers today: no matter what job or skill set we possess, we can use it for the glory of God. God is honored when we dedicate our talents, time, and resources to His purposes, just as Bezalel did in constructing the Tabernacle.
2. The Role of the Holy Spirit in Empowering Us
Bezalel’s story reminds us of the importance of the Holy Spirit in empowering us to fulfill God’s call. Bezalel was not only talented, but he was also filled with divine wisdom and understanding. Similarly, God empowers modern-day believers through the Holy Spirit to fulfill tasks that may seem too great or challenging for us. The Spirit equips us with the gifts necessary to carry out God’s work in whatever area He has called us to.
3. Using Our Gifts for God’s Glory
Bezalel’s craftsmanship was a direct result of his willingness to use his skills for God’s glory. His story encourages us to use whatever talents or abilities we have, no matter how small or overlooked, in service to God. Whether it’s artistic, intellectual, technical, or practical skills, all work is valuable when done for the Lord.
4. Leadership and Delegation
Though Bezalel was the chief artisan, he did not work alone. He was responsible for leading and overseeing a team of skilled workers. This aspect of his role teaches us the importance of leadership and delegation. Leaders must guide and empower others, helping them to use their gifts and skills to accomplish a common goal.
Conclusion
Bezalel’s life and work offer rich spiritual lessons for all believers. He was a man of great skill, but his story is much more than about craftsmanship; it is about how God calls, equips, and empowers individuals to do His work. Through Bezalel, we see that every act of work, whether it involves building a Tabernacle or working in any other field, can be a form of worship if it is done with a heart dedicated to God. Just as Bezalel used his divine gifts to create something sacred, we too are called to use our talents in service to God and His kingdom.

Field Trip - Film Review: Happy Clothes ★★★½
At 83 years old, fashion designer/icon Patricia Field seems to accomplish more in one morning than most people do in a month. Slackers and ageists, take note! In Michael Selditch’s joyful documentary, Happy Clothes: A Film About Patricia Field, you’re guaranteed to conclude that you haven’t done enough with your life. Best known for her unforgettable work on Sex And The City, Emily In Paris, Ugly Betty, The Devil Wears Prada and for her trend-setting Manhattan stores dating back to 1966, Patricia Field has always been associated with a burst of colors and patterns, not always matching, yet always memorable.
How appropriate then that the documentary feels the same and is all the better for it. Eschewing many of the tropes littered across so many biodocs, Selditch creates a heady vibe instead. We get smatterings of backstory and talking heads from such luminaries as Kim Cattrall, Sarah Jessica Parker, Lily Collins, and Michael Urie, but the vast majority of this film evokes that fly-on-the-wall bottled lightning from simply watching Field go about her day tending to her many projects. Sure we learn about her upbringing and her relationships with women over the years, but we get no deep character exploration. In fact, its mission statement almost feels like the opposite. Patricia Field, with her chainsmoker voice, shock of red hair and incredibly chic eyewear, comes across as a lovable curmudgeon, someone who will tell a driver the fastest route but who will do so with a smile. She’s got Larry David’s assertiveness, Joan Rivers’ work ethic, and yet has that sweet and salty, Mama Bear quality of Mercedes Ruehl in Big. She clearly knows what she wants and fearlessly voices her opinion, yet she also enjoys the company of others, especially the raft of designers and staff she’s worked with over the years. Consider her the ultimate New York Diva who’s also a good hang.
Beautifully and astutely shot by Cinematographer, Kris Lindenmuth, the film has a natural flow, and while fairly stakes free, had me smiling the entire time. Here’s a subject who enjoys interacting with others, but doesn’t especially believe the hype they often spew at her. Considering herself more of a consultant than as designer, Field downplays so much of her work and seems to attribute it to having a good gut. She’s so refreshingly matter-of-fact in that way I love New Yorkers more than any other people on the planet. As she says late in the film, “I just want to live until I die and that’s the end of it.” What an unpretentious way to sum up a big life such as hers. Yes, at her age she admits she’s ready to retire, and with her juggling her television shows, fashion designs, memoir, and this very documentary, who can blame her for wanting to finally kick back?
More than anything, this film gets to the heart of an artist’s aesthetic. We watch as she sparks to a certain fabric or shoe design. We marvel at her eye for combining patterns. Her relationships with those she’s dressed also gives us so much insight into how her mind works and why actors feel their characters so well when Field gives them their framework. I especially loved hearing Michael Urie talk about how his crazy looks came together on Ugly Betty and how it instantly defined him.
Of course, many will look for signs of tension between Kim Cattrall and Sarah Jessica Parker, both interviewed here separately, yet both speak so lovingly of their collaborations with Field and how their costumes helped turn them both into iconic stars. One could squint really hard and see a little one-upmanship between the two in who has a better relationship with Field, but that’s a mighty big stretch. In fact, this may be the least gossipy film I’ve seen within the world of fashion. She set the world on fire and had fun doing it. Never self-aggrandizing, Patricia Field, like this fun little slice of life doc, is pure pop fizz.
Happy Clothes - A Film About Patricia Field opens September 20th at the IFC Center in Manhattan and wherever you rent movies on digital.

Anyways, sketch posting time! These would be the designs of the Blawsth protagonists if the region ever got a game. First pic was a sort of color-picking thing and the others are slight redesigns, with the last one just came from me wanting to draw in the pokemon artsyle :D
Guy's name is Urie and in the fic I have him set as Ash's rival, mostly because as a kid I always wondered why he couldn't meet any of his in-game counterparts since he likes copying their looks so much. :( He just won't wear the hood as often due to *drumrolls* story reasons. The girl's name is Joanne and depending on which protagonist you didn't choose, you'll get the other as your rival. They're personalities would vary with Urie being extremely absurd and Joanne being extremely stoic and they annoy the living hell out of each other a lot! Dialogue options would be adjust slightly to the player's end to conform to this, but mostly because I'd think it'd be funny if that sort of dynamic ever ended up in one of the actual games. In universe they are also very mysterious, like in the start of the game they would literally stalk Jake and Sam while they were talking about the card game and start interjecting once they start talking about adding a fourth player lol.
When it came to the design theme, I wanted them to look a bit artistic to an extent, with Urie representing a more urban/graffiti direction and Joanne being a more tradtional/classic-esque painter inspired look. I guess it's to chow the chaotic direction I took with the both of them lol! The monster on Urie's hoodie and butterfly-esque things on Joanne's dress/blouse thing aren't supposed to be actual pokemon from the Blawsth Dex or anything, so I like to imagine that they're just designs inspired by some random region that hasn't been revealed yet (they aren't even supposed to be in Blawsth either, they just kinda showed up and decided to wreck havoc there one day lol).
^SOTD I need to listen to the rest of the album after listening to TTSR so much lol!

THE BIBLE BOOK OF GOD
Old Testament
Exodus 35
Sabbath Regulations
35 Moses assembled all the congregation of the people of Israel and said to them, “These are the things that the Lord has commanded you to do. 2 Six days work shall be done, but on the seventh day you shall have a Sabbath of solemn rest, holy to the Lord. Whoever does any work on it shall be put to death. 3 You shall kindle no fire in all your dwelling places on the Sabbath day.”
Contributions for the Tabernacle
4 Moses said to all the congregation of the people of Israel, “This is the thing that the Lord has commanded. 5 Take from among you a contribution to the Lord. Whoever is of a generous heart, let him bring the Lord's contribution: gold, silver, and bronze; 6 blue and purple and scarlet yarns and fine twined linen; goats' hair, 7 tanned rams' skins, and goatskins; acacia wood, 8 oil for the light, spices for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense, 9 and onyx stones and stones for setting, for the ephod and for the breastpiece.
10 “Let every skillful craftsman among you come and make all that the Lord has commanded: 11 the tabernacle, its tent and its covering, its hooks and its frames, its bars, its pillars, and its bases; 12 the ark with its poles, the mercy seat, and the veil of the screen; 13 the table with its poles and all its utensils, and the bread of the Presence; 14 the lampstand also for the light, with its utensils and its lamps, and the oil for the light; 15 and the altar of incense, with its poles, and the anointing oil and the fragrant incense, and the screen for the door, at the door of the tabernacle; 16 the altar of burnt offering, with its grating of bronze, its poles, and all its utensils, the basin and its stand; 17 the hangings of the court, its pillars and its bases, and the screen for the gate of the court; 18 the pegs of the tabernacle and the pegs of the court, and their cords; 19 the finely worked garments for ministering in the Holy Place, the holy garments for Aaron the priest, and the garments of his sons, for their service as priests.”
20 Then all the congregation of the people of Israel departed from the presence of Moses. 21 And they came, everyone whose heart stirred him, and everyone whose spirit moved him, and brought the Lord's contribution to be used for the tent of meeting, and for all its service, and for the holy garments. 22 So they came, both men and women. All who were of a willing heart brought brooches and earrings and signet rings and armlets, all sorts of gold objects, every man dedicating an offering of gold to the Lord. 23 And every one who possessed blue or purple or scarlet yarns or fine linen or goats' hair or tanned rams' skins or goatskins brought them. 24 Everyone who could make a contribution of silver or bronze brought it as the Lord's contribution. And every one who possessed acacia wood of any use in the work brought it. 25 And every skillful woman spun with her hands, and they all brought what they had spun in blue and purple and scarlet yarns and fine twined linen. 26 All the women whose hearts stirred them to use their skill spun the goats' hair. 27 And the leaders brought onyx stones and stones to be set, for the ephod and for the breastpiece, 28 and spices and oil for the light, and for the anointing oil, and for the fragrant incense. 29 All the men and women, the people of Israel, whose heart moved them to bring anything for the work that the Lord had commanded by Moses to be done brought it as a freewill offering to the Lord.
Construction of the Tabernacle
30 Then Moses said to the people of Israel, “See, the Lord has called by name Bezalel the son of Uri, son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah; 31 and he has filled him with the Spirit of God, with skill, with intelligence, with knowledge, and with all craftsmanship, 32 to devise artistic designs, to work in gold and silver and bronze, 33 in cutting stones for setting, and in carving wood, for work in every skilled craft. 34 And he has inspired him to teach, both him and Oholiab the son of Ahisamach of the tribe of Dan. 35 He has filled them with skill to do every sort of work done by an engraver or by a designer or by an embroiderer in blue and purple and scarlet yarns and fine twined linen, or by a weaver—by any sort of workman or skilled designer.

THE SUPERNATURAL EMPOWERMENT 1
29 And God gave Solomon wisdom and exceedingly great understanding, and largeness of heart like the sand on the seashore. 30 Thus Solomon’s wisdom excelled the wisdom of all the men of the East and all the wisdom of Egypt. 31 For he was wiser than all men—than Ethan the Ezrahite, and Heman, Chalcol, and Darda, the sons of Mahol; and his fame was in all the surrounding nations. 32 He spoke three thousand proverbs, and his songs were one thousand and five. 33 Also he spoke of trees, from the cedar tree of Lebanon even to the hyssop that springs out of the wall; he spoke also of animals, of birds, of creeping things, and of fish. 34 And men of all nations, from all the kings of the earth who had heard of his wisdom, came to hear the wisdom of Solomon." 1 Kings 4:29-34 (NKJV)
Believers need the the supernatural to be outstanding in life.
Being supernaturally empowered makes you distinct, different from others.
As a Believer in Christ Jesus, you can be supernaturally empowered for wisdom, knowledge, and understanding.
One can be supernaturally empowered for favour, success, and protection. IN short, experiencing the supernatural is possible in every area of life. You can enjoy supernatural rest. Receive supernatural help and whatever.
You can also be supernaturally empowered in whatever you do, and be outstanding in your field.
Solomon was supernaturally empowered for wisdom. The wisdom he exhibited surpasses the wisdom of others in His Days (1 Kings 4:29-34).
God said the wisdom given to him would have no equal. That is not an ordinary or common wisdom that is available to every other human being: 12 BEHOLD, I have done according to your words; SEE, I HAVE GIVEN YOU A WISE AND UNDERSTANDING HEART, SO THAT THERE HAS NOT BEEN ANYONE LIKE YOU BEFORE YOU, NOR shall Any LIKE YOU ARISE AFTER YOU. 13 AND I have also GIVEN you what you have NOT ASKED: BOTH RICHES AND HONOUR, SO that there shall NOT be ANYONE like YOU among the KINGS all YOUR DAYS" (1 Kings 3:12,13 (NKJV).
Solomon's wisdom, wealth, and honour were supernatural. They were not like that of every other person (1 Kings 4:29-34).
The description of Solomon's wisdom mentioned in the above Bible passage is supernatural, It could only be done or given by God to whoever belongs to Him and Desires it.
You can be supernaturally empowered for skills in whatever you do, like God did for Bezalel and Aholiab when the tabernacle was to be built for God in the wilderness: 1 THEN the LORD spoke to Moses, SAYING: 2 “See, I have called by name BEZALEL the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah. 3 AND I HAVE FILLED HIM WITH THE SPIRIT OF GOD, IN WISDOM, IN UNDERSTANDING, IN KNOWLEDGE, AND IN ALL MANNER OF WORKMANSHIP, 4 TO DESIGN ARTISTIC WORKS, TO work in GOLD, in SILVER, in BRONZE, 5 IN cutting JEWELS for SETTING, in CARVING wood, AND TO WORK IN ALL MANNER OF WORKMANSHIP. 6 “AND I, indeed I, have APPOINTED with him AHOLIAB the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan; AND I HAVE PUT WISDOM IN THE HEARTS OF ALL THE GIFTED ARTISANS, THAT they may MAKE all that I have COMMANDED YOU: 7 THE TABERNACLE of meeting, THE ARK of the Testimony and THE MERCY SEAT that is on it, AND ALL THE FURNITURE OF THE TABERNACLE" (Exodus 31:1-7).
In the above passage, all the artisans mentioned were supernaturally empowered for wisdom and knowledge and understanding, to do artistic works for the construction of the Tabernacle.
Note: If what we have shared Thus far happened in the old testament, the better of it, the one that surpasses that could be done for the Believers in the New Testament; because we have a better covenant: "BY so much more JESUS HAS BECOME A SURETY OF A BETTER COVENANT" (Hebrews 7:22 NKJV).
6 BUT now He [Jesus] has OBTAINED a more EXCELLENT MINISTRY, INASMUCH AS HE IS ALSO MEDIATOR OF A BETTER COVENANT, WHICH WAS ESTABLISHED ON BETTER PROMISES. 7 FOR if that FIRST COVENANT had been FAULTLESS, THEN NO place would have been SOUGHT FOR A SECOND." Hebrews 8:6,7 (NKJV)
If something is considered to be better, It means It has All the features of the old and other New ones in addition. The new covenant, or Testament, was ESTABLISHED on better Promises (Hebrews 8:6).
Jesus said: 41 THE men of Nineveh will rise up in the judgment with this generation and condemn it, because they repented at the preaching of Jonah; AND INDEED A GREATER THAN JONAH IS HERE. 42 THE queen of the South will rise up in the judgment with this generation and condemn it, FOR she came from the ends of the earth to HEAR THE WISDOM OF SOLOMON; AND INDEED A GREATER THAN SOLOMON IS HERE" (Matthew 12:41,42 (NKJV).
Jesus surpasses Solomon in wisdom, and the Believers in Christ have the potentials to surpass Solomon or whoever had lived in the old testament.
Jesus said: 10 This was written about him: ‘[Look; Behold] I will send my messenger ahead of you, who will prepare ·the [your] way ·for [before; in front of] you [Mal. 3:1].’ 11 I tell you the truth, JOHN the Baptist is GREATER than any other PERSON ·ever BORN [born to women], BUT even the LEAST important PERSON in the KINGDOM of HEAVEN is GREATER THAN JOHN [because John prepares for, but does not fully participate in the blessings of the Kingdom]" (Matthew 11:10-12 Expanded Bible).
In other words, from the Old Testament till the time John the Baptist was born, no one could be compared in greatness to John the Baptist. But the least person in the New Testament is greater than him.
Thus, the least person in the new Testament is potentially greater than Solomon and all others who dazed the people of the old testament with their Wisdom and power.
As a Believer in Christ Jesus, you can be supernaturally empowered for wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. You can be supernaturally empowered to Excel in whatever you do.
You will not fail in Jesus' name.
Should there be any ailment in your body, receive your healing now in Jesus' name.
You are delivered from the oppression and it will never rise again in Jesus' name. Peace! TO BE CONTINUED

Sketch sheet of the 3rd love interest of Romance The Backrooms, my upcoming dating sim visual novel. Meet the sad boy, Uri! The cat is his "friend" Manorial, who we will discuss in a bit. Uri was designed by gurosquid, and Manorial was designed by Neopixelz.
Oh Uri, my sweet summer child. He's such a gloomy little guy, but I love him so much. You just wanna cuddle him and give him a great big hug because he's just so sad!
His voice actor, Sam Hodges, depicts this so fucking well. The story about how Sam got cast is kind of an interesting one, so I shall tell you the tale:
During the casting process, I wasn't getting as many Uri auditions, and the ones I did get didn't sound at all like Uri to me (this was partially my fault in not being specific enough in how I wanted him to sound, I'll admit). The deadline for the casting call was approaching, and I feared Uri's voice would not appear in my inbox.
But then, I got Sam's email. And even though he auditioned for Glarence, I was listening to it and thinking to myself, "URI??? IS THAT YOU???" Because FINALLY I could hear the character speaking to me through a talented voice! I was very happy!
So I reached out to him and asked if he wanted to be considered for Uri. He said yes, and submitted lines for Uri as well, which turned out perfect. And that's how he got cast!
As for Manorial, he's a very interesting character whose existence as he is today came about bit by bit. Here's a breakdown:
When I was trying to flesh out the Romance The Backrooms characters, I wanted to make sure that each of them had a strength/benefit to the group, but also couldn't obliterate all opponents and make all threats minor. For example, Kalcal can physically defeat most small/medium backrooms entities, but pit him against anything bigger than a hound, and he's gonna have a problem. And in a battle of wits, 90% of the time he's going to lose.
As I recall, I was discussing the characters with my friend, who I'll call L, and specifically brought up how I wasn't sure what Uri's strength should be. L suggested that Uri has an object that can help the group, but has some kind of drawback. I took that idea and ran with it, turning the object into an entity, and making the drawback into Uri losing memories, because there's so much angsty potential there and I like torturing my characters. Mwahahaha!
As the Otome Jam drew closer, I tried to figure out the memory entity's design, and was looking through the character designs I had already obtained for the game, trying to figure out who stood out to me. Then, it hit me like a freight train--ah, of course! The memory entity should be the mascot of the open species idea I adopted from Neopixelz! And that's how Manorial became the memory entity.
I'm really hyped to launch the open species when the game is out, but SHHHHH, we'll get to that when we get to that. ;3
Manorial is a suave, persuasive watcher who gazes out at the world through the red eye in the middle of Uri's forehead. Like all Memory Collectors, he is a shapeshifter, and has chosen the form he has now. He's the only character who constantly flirts with the main character, and I find that absolutely hilarious. Sorry Manorial, you're not gonna get the girl! Well, maybe in DLC someday, lol.
Manorial is voiced by Sterling Barbett! He was my 2nd choice to voice Adiel (the 5th love interest, who I'll make a blog about soon), and I knew I wanted him to get involved in the project, even if it wasn't as the voice of a love interest. So I asked if I wanted to voice Manorial, and he said yes! Hooray!
That's all for today. Please share your thoughts, and have a good one!

No Requiem // self para
Chandler never minded living in luxury's generous lap. He spent the money on designer clothes, owned the latest advances technology offered, and practically slept on silk sheets night by night. He even held the option being driven around the city by another, but today, this is something that required a trip alone. No private drivers means no one would judge him. True, he oftentimes enjoyed an audience of his flourishing dramatics, this time isn't the right moment for a performance.
He stepped out of the Rolls-Royce as soon as he pulled up along the edge of where he knew Douglas' grave sat and slung the duffle bag over his shoulder with a gentle huff. As he began the trek through the newly trimmed grass, he passed tombstones engraved by the names of the dead and placed aside the thought of how much he truly despised cemeteries. They were depressing, a reminder that a majority who ended up there had died at Urie's hands, at least that is what the young Fitzgerald imagined. Chandler finally reached the final resting place of the man who caused so much damage to everyone around him. The tombstone was tall, foreboding in a way, and a sculpted angel sat at the very top, looking down on him as if in mockery. Douglas was no angel in life, definitely not one in death. It may as well have been Lucifer's previous angelic form overseeing the former Hedgestone leader.
"Well, hey. Pops." Chandler greeted sarcastically, dropping the bag he hauled to the ground and sticking his hands in the pockets of his wool coat. His gaze briefly flickered the etching on the stone, the elaborate border lovely if it weren't for its place on a monster's marker. The header, Father, son, husband, dedicated leader forced a snort from the irony. Dedicated leader, Chandler's ass. "You're probably gazing up at me from Hell and wondering why I've wasted my time coming all the way here. I have a faction you cared more about than your own children to help run." He waved a hand dismissively and continued, "Personally, I think we should've cremated your ass and flushed what's left of your ashes down the toilet like the piece of shit you were. Would've been funnier."
"Morrigan's doing fantastic, by the way." Chandy couldn't deny the smug grin stretching his lips, glowing pride overtaking every inch of his being. "You underestimated her, Pops. She can be ruthless when she sees fit, she instrokes fear in an artful precision you never succeeded during your reign, and we both know who we have to blame for that. Don't we?" The thing they didn't talk about, those nights of torment and psychological warfare waged by their father leaving scars in different methods.
Chandler erased the memories from his mind for the moment. "She stole a page from your book, though. Messing with someone's head, forcing her victims to believe something that was not actually true just to make an example." He nodded once, "True, Momo knows you wouldn't have hesitated executing two traitors if you were still in charge, but she bloodies her hands when needed. She isn't the meek flower obeying under a dominate man that you thought she would be. The prize, the submissive whose only purpose was providing her husband a male heir. A sexual object incapable of thought." Morrigan rose above and proved her worth. "She's a kingless queen. And I her loyal second-in-command standing proudly through thick and thin."
His eyes hovered over the death date, practically burning a hole in the granite, as he fell silent for a long minute. "Do you know the day I remember often? I was fourteen. It had been about a month since I came to live in the mansion and you forced me to a suit fitting. You gave the spiel about how I was flying the Urie banner and shoved the responsibility of sharing duties with Desmond down my fucking throat." There was another pause. "That's also the time I finally understood how worthless you thought about your own daughter. You made me her replacement and I never asked for it." A sardonic chuckle exited Chandler's mouth at the next statement. "However closeminded you became, no matter my particular lifestyle, you'd rather suffer a flamboyant son than hand over power to a woman. I wasn't about to make it easy for you, Pops...I wanted you paying for it every goddamn day."
"Do you want to know a secret between us manly men with our superiority just because we have dicks? The same way you underestimated Morri, I underestimated you with your cruelty." Chandler began fidgeting with the sleeves of his coat considering the tightness those memories created constricting inside his throat. When most people experience severe trauma as the siblings endured, a brain would block out what causes the pain and buries it deep. Untouched, forbidding access until the person is ready if they ever reach the point in their lives. "Four days. You dragged me from my room to your office and subjected me to Morrigan's imprisonment. The whippings, every punch, I felt along my flesh as if I was there. You fucked with the temperature of my bedroom. Freezing cold with nothing to keep me warm but the sound of Morrigan's screams all night long as company. I couldn't sleep with that sound ringing in my ears. If I ever broke free from that room, I swore I would have hunted you down and separated your head from your body. Without question."
Chandler perceived himself as an overall friendly extrovert who could be bothered offering kindness to anyone that didn't deny his hand of friendship. He was the life of the party and welcomed the adoration, which made his interests of theater in his high school days reasonable. A temper tantrum and revealing the wrath wasn't synonymous with Chandler's personality, but as guarded as he is with emotions, he experienced them ten times stronger than most. "You were a suffocating presence in my life, Douglas. There was this," His hand hovered to the side of his temple, indicating his head, "This noise I couldn't silence. Your voice and her screaming repeating over and over like that fucking recording. I wanted to die. Believe me, those thoughts crossed my mind while I laid there in my bed. Shivering one night and sweating the next." The man's expression grew somber for a flicker and then drained completely of anything. "I was taunted by the pair of scissors in my desk drawer. The letter opener on my desk Dezzie gave me for my sixteenth birthday, it'd be that easy ending my suffering and spiting you in the process."
Another unspoken secret not even his psuedo sister knew and had she, it would break her heart surely. "I fought for Morrigan to stay alive, so I bided my time obediently. I knew the moment that diploma landed in my hand, I was gone. Away from Hedgestone, away from my responsibilities, from you. Running was the only option I had. Still...you didn't break me how you wanted." It sounded falsely confident and certainly, the sake of his self-esteem depended on faking until he could make it, and providing Douglas the gratification wouldn't ever materialize. "Then I arrive home to hear you and Dezzie perished in a car bombing. While my brother's death caused ripples of mourning in the community, yours was met with no deserving fanfare. As they say, the kingdoms never weep when the villain falls."
Chandler dropped to one knee beside the bag and unzipped it, removing the only object contained within and rising to a standing position. The brand new sledgehammer he purchased for this specific visit came highly recommended by the hardware store he purchased it from. The clerk clearly knew who he was the moment Chandy strutted through the door and was right forgoing asking questions as to why a Urie elite required the piece of equipment. "No one lights a candle to remember you, Douglas. No one prays while your corpse rots, certainly not me." Chandler gripped the handle and inspected the metal piece attached to the top thoroughly, "I want you to know the punchline. That boy you mutilated and tossed in the river like garbage, the name you thought you beat from your daughter, wasn't the one Morrigan was seeing. His name's Julian Reese."
Chandler raised the sledgehammer over his shoulder, uttering the small sweet victory, "You lose." The mallet's first forward swing landed right in the middle of the epitaph, poetically making contact on Douglas' name. The satisfaction instantly shot down his spine and slowly traveled from limb to limb. A euphoric experience exploding from pent up aggression and placing feelings underneath the floorboards. He lifted the hammer and struck the stone again with a forceful grunt, sending substantial sizes of rock flying every which way. It was a miracle he wasn't hit by anything, but he didn't stop there. Watching Julian take out his rage on a batting cage sparked the idea and he wasn't pulling his shots with losing complete control like the other did. While Julian feared the strength of his anger, Chandy thrived on his. The hammer created contact several times, enlarging the cracks along the surface.
The pedestal in which the tombstone sat on finally gave way with Chandler taking a small step backwards as the remaining pieces collapsed in on itself and sent the angel toppling to the grass, shattering in two pathetic slivers. There is a certain beauty when destruction happens, chaos St. Cascadia brings out in its citizens. That even the most civilized man like him could become monstrous when facing a tormentor. If Chandler cannot kill Douglas, he would erase the last piece of the Urie patriarch's identity. "No one will remember you now, bitch." Shooting a middle finger at what was left of the gravestone, Chandy stuffed the sledgehammer back inside the duffle and looped his arm through the straps.
As Chandler moved away from the ruins after a long minute staring at what he created, he stopped at another gravestone that wouldn't suffer the same fate by a million years. "Hi, Dezzie. Don't mind the mess beside you. Though, if we're being a hundred percent honest, you were always a witness to mine. This is one I don't want you cleaning." The wrath previously dissipated and melancholy formed in its place. A heavy heart. "I'm sorry I wasn't here for the funeral. You'd want me not blaming myself, but the second I leave, I lost you. I was supposed to be at your side and I wasn't, Dez. I was supposed to protect you and I couldn't because of my cowardice. We needed you." Chandler did his best pushing back the tears no matter how they stung. "I still need you." The sentence hung in the air. "But I'll protect her like we've always done and I will spend every day making you proud. I promise." He reached out a hand and placed it on top of the stone.
"I love you, big brother."
And somehow by design, Chandler almost sensed Desmond saying it back.
