Kaismir aka Horse Grandpa is unsuprisingly a Tzimisce.
An oddly carefree and adventurous doctor who in his current years is more of a...creative scientist, let’s say. Made his apperance in our game as a red list kindred who got his hands on some necromancy books and started raising some funky looking zombies. However he only showed up in person at the end of the game when one of the players decided to betray their friends for a chance to gain his favour. He didn’t even have to do anything for that.
Further fun fact, has a ghoul names John Doe and can turn invisible.
Next up: I draw him with his mouths open. Yes, multiple

You have so many good blorbos! Cam I ask about Lex and Fennel? It seems like they're PCs you're currently playing? What's going on with them? :3c
I thought about this all night and couldn't find a way to convey any of this concisely, so I settled for an info dump haha 🙃
So, Lex was a former troubled teen and high school dropout struggling with depression and homelessness long into her mid 20s. She was just getting back on her feet when her new neighbour, who happened to be a Malkavian, became convinced that she was an inquisition spy. She abducted Lex one night, tied her to a chair, tortured and eventually embraced her.
You could say this was a pretty traumatic event, and as far as Lex is concerned, she's the only vampire around that actually reacts appropriately to having been murdered. As such, she's highly anxious around other kindred, will avoid getting to close to them, can't stand being touched by them, and doesn't do well in restraints.
unLuckily for her, professional help was available! After her sire was put to death by the Camarilla for the unauthorized embrace, she was taken in as a patient of her sire's sire, the Malkavian Primogen of Adelaide, psychologist Dr Philip Hayes, who treated her basically like a pet very well. Like many sires/childer, they had a very contentious but also deeply meaningful relationship until the Anarchs sprung her from his hospital several years ago.
Since then, Lex has;
* Joined her coterie, the therapy group Bloodsuckers Anonymous
* Somewhat reluctantly supported the Anarchs in their war campaign to take the city, mostly through her premonitions and brainstorming
* Slowly become more accustomed to being around other vampires (though she's still always on edge)
* Leaned into dementation and used it to break a Tzimisce's mind
* Really tried her best not to freak out, to mixed results.
Last year was when her arc really came full circle. Her coterie put on a charity concert that was crashed by the Sabbat, and the mass of casualties sent her spiralling. Dr Hayes used the opportunity to lure her back to him, and he blood bonded her under the guise of a new "treatment." She spent a few harrowing weeks navigating her conflicting feelings about safety vs freedom and love vs hate, before her friends rescued her again and blew up Hayes' office, destroying his work.
A few months later, she tracked him down to finish the job with the help of the Anarchs' geriatric war vet Caitiff, John. She confronted Hayes, kept him talking while John snuck in the back, had their first and last therapy session on equal footing where he announced the culmination of his research; to cure the clan's madness, he would have to kill Malkav. Sadly Hayes would never have the opportunity, as John staked him and helped Lex drive a knife through his spine until the final death.
Lex recovered what remains of Hayes' notes and research. She told him, as he died, that she wouldn't let his work be in vain, but she still doesn't quite know whether she was lying. At the very least, if an antediluvian comes to town, she'll be a little more prepared.
That's a lot for one post, so if you still want to know about Fennel, send me a separate ask lol!

LaSombra and Toreador for Salomé? ✨
@scribesofcalamity
Lasombra - What's the most ruthless thing your OC has done? Why?
Probably the whole convincing people to have their limbs/eyes/teeth surgically removed to be replaced with her prosthetics for purely aesthetic reasons. Everything she designs is of the highest quality, made with the best available technology, but it's still all exceptionally medically unethical. Especially given that either her or her adoptive Tzimisce sire (name still TBD, I'm debating if just naming him John would be funny or not) will sometimes blood bond them during the surgical process just to ensure any potential regrets after the fact can be easily soothed away.
Toreador - Describe your OCs aesthetic in the worst way possible, then tell us what it actually is.
if morticia addams and marilyn monroe had a toxic yuri baby
Her and her adoptive sire may match each other's freak but she isn't designing just for Tzimisces so their aesthetics aren't exactly the same. When it comes to clothing, Salomé likes to keep things fairly simple; solid, rich colors, nice fabrics, classically elegant silhouettes. Her accessories tend to be her more eye-catching pieces, and her prosthetics are no exception. She's done all sorts of designs over the years, from an eye prosthetic that looks like a lotus seed pod (if trypophobia things give you the ick, don't google it, it's not worth it), a leg with an outer shell that looks like a bird cage complete with an actual bird in her leg.
My favorite that I picture Salomé in the most often though is a matching set; her leg appears to be covered in red crystal points, growing out in various sizes all the way from ankle to mid-thigh, and her eye similarly has small crystal points, the largest extending about an inch out, the rest tapering off in size as they extend out toward her temple and hairline.
i have a pinterest board for her that i haven't fully refined to a point i'm happy with yet, but it's got her general vibe in there.

For Kellen! I wanna know all about your Tzimisce please. questions 3 and 5.
Are they "traditional" and who is their sire?
3. Are they more “traditional” or do they break barriers? Traditional for a Tzimisce? No not really- they don't head their own household, or have any ghouls aside from a very regular snake famulus, they don't care much about being polite to others or extending hospitality to guests (though they are pissed off if others don't to those things for them), they aren't with the Sabbat, and their body modifications are relatively minor. They're happily blood bound to a True Brujah, working as the head conservator for her museum, and have been since very shortly after their embrace- so their sire never really got the chance to make a real Tzimisce out of them.
5. Who is their sire? Speaking of which- their sire, Father Gary Melin, is a member of the catholic clergy who, for Kellen's entire life (mortal and after), has cleaved off their family. He's a disgraced former member of the Sabbat Inquisition, and general all-around bastard. If you've played Faith: The Unholy trilogy, I basically stole John and Gary stuck them in a blender and made them a Tzimisce.

Random John questions: If John is an operative, does that mean he's a spy? Also do he and his sire ever see each other or get along . Who staked Atena:ti anyway? Guy's built like a freaking tank! Also who killed John's sire? I hope you do art of her. Do you play as John etc. /they appear in your campaign or are they just artwork. Sorry for a million questions. Also I *hugs* them and *shows them Dutch bunny*
To answer the questions in a helpful order: - John isn't in any formal campaign, no. He's just part of my personal stable of ocs that the setting inspired me to make. HOWEVER I would absolutely play him in a campaign that suited his character, any fuckin time any fuckin where! - Yes, John is essentially a spy! It's a very complex and chonky piece of fan-made content, but to be as brief as possible: John is a vital intelligence member of a new Kindred sect in the 2020s that's comprised largely of Indigenous American Kindred who are putting their immortal and superpowered unlives to good use by fighting for native causes. They're also working to preserve tribal traditions that might die out if there weren't literal undying folks with the cultural knowledge kicking around. They're led by an ancient Tzimisce named Dibikad, who rose up out of the Lake Superior as a Great Lynx-shaped monster, and they call themselves the Moonrise Nation. (And of course the Moonrise Nation has a lot of opposition in other Kindred sects, so by extension - John has a lot of enemies to deal with for his people!) - Atena:ti was staked by the Nosferatu living in the warrens under the Bronx! They uncovered his torpor burrow when they went digging under the Hudson river, hoping to expand their dwelling a bit. He was awakened by the sudden collapse of his underground chamber, and luckily the New Yorker Nos managed to stake him before he killed anyone in his angry, sleepy confusion. - John's Sire/Atena:ti's Childe, Kaiennenhawi (Who also went by the name "Mary Davies") was killed at Wounded Knee in 1973 by Camarilla agents sent in to neutralize the conflict. Her death really devastated John, who fled the scene in fear for his own life. And I simply must draw her now! - John and Atena:ti do get along, extremely well. Atena:ti is super damn old, as you've seen. As an ancient warrior he's used to being a self-sufficient, god-punching, one-man army. It took him a long time to get comfortable with dependence on others. He relies heavily on younger Kindred to help him navigate the modern world, and John is the person he trusts most. Their "familial" bond is important to him, moreso than it might be to other modern Kindred. He considers John his only living family, and John feels the same way about the giant grandpa.

welcome to an extremely niche post for me and very few other people: what clans i think various saw characters would belong to in vampire the masquerade! this will get long so i am putting it under the cut, and i tried to justify my reasonings for those that are unfamiliar with the material
reasonably, if i were to actually translate the plot of saw to its equivalence in the vtmb universe, all victims of jigsaw would be human, and he would embrace or maybe ghoul his apprentices. however, i want to analyze them (both apprentices and victims) by personality, and also the idea of hoffman as a tzimisce is like sincerely horrifying, so i’m rejecting the concept and analyzing them independently from one another! also, the assumption For Me is that kerry/rigg/perez/strahm/that entire group would be vampire hunters in this scenario, so i won’t be diagnosing them
first and foremost, the opinion i am the most certain about: john is a tzimisce. tzimisce have an ability that is unique to them known as vicissitude, or fleshcrafting, which is basically exactly what one would expect from being called fleshcrafting, ie molding the bodies of the living and what have you. they are also natural philosophers, and they LOVE torture, both physical and psychological. i don’t feel like i need to justify this choice
i feel like amanda has malkavian potential, which almost feels too easy (as the CRAAAZY INSAAANE ASYYYLUM I’M GONNA KILL YOU clan, because this IS a 2004 video game based on a 90s tabletop game we’re talking about here), but i do like it a lot for her. malkavians can tend to reject their own nature and cause themselves a lot of emotional distress, but a malkavian that doesn’t reject her nature can essentially function as an oracle/has a natural inclination towards what awaits them. they also like to play pranks. that isn’t really important i just think it’s cute. <3
hoffman. hoffman was more difficult for me than he should be, possibly. but i THINK that he would be a gangrel. known for being violently turned and then forced to either adapt to this life or die, which results in a very strong instinct to survive but a tendency to disregard or not even be aware of important cultural rules/laws. they also tend to prefer working alone, and they have an intrinsically more powerful connection to their beast, which is, in essence, a primal drive to kill (and, therefore, survive) within all vampires, and much smaller of a trigger than most clans can result in a violent frenzy for a gangrel. hoffman is practically a caveman, i feel like this makes sense for him
jill is definitely a lasombra. lasombra are the sister clan to the tzimisce, and they excel in operating in shadows, having hands in powerful places without practically anyone’s knowledge. they are EXTREMELY ambitious, and believe strongly in severe punishment for transgressions that deserve such a thing. (in reality, i could also make an argument for john as a lasombra as well, as a prominent ritual for lasombra is to “test” a potential embrace by completely ruining their lives and, if they survive/adapt to that, they are worthy of being taken into the lasombra clan, but i also really like john as a tzimisce lol)
lawrence is extremely ventrue material. they are, in essence, the piece of shit yuppie clan. it is practically a rule for them to be wealthy, they put a lot of stock intot maintaining their good reputations, and their most valuable skill is their ability to make people listen to and believe their word. i would probably have more to say on him specifically if he were present more often in the series lol but i am pretty firm in this opinion
realistically speaking, adam would NEVER be cool enough to be a vampire, but if he were one he would hands down be a brujah. for one, the brujah clan is essentially the direct parallel and opposite to the ventrue clan, which makes a fun contrast with lawrence. they are defined by their passion and how quick they are to anger, and are almost always vampire socialists, because vampire socialism is a thing in vtm. it’s an entire thing. anyways brujah are kind of just some guys and that feels appropriate for adam, everyone’s favorite just some guy <3

ok you asked for it
so it's still pretty vague in my head BUT i imagine arthur as a detective still who was investigating the disappearance of emily, only to get too close to sabbat and learning the truth about vampires lurking in arkham. and THEN john appears and has a fight (?) with arthur. john sees the potential in him and instead of killing him like he should have he gives him his vitae and makes him a ghoul.
i imagine john is a bishop while king in yellow is an archbishop! they both are on the path of metamorphosis so at first john experiments on arthur (taking his eyes and replacing them with the ones he has, taking his arm and replacing it with his) but the more they communicate the more john starts to question his chosen path
but arthur gets more "monstrous" due to his addiction to tzimisce vitae and has fits of rage and gets violent (my thoughts were that maybe he killed faroe and bella in one of his breakdowns bc i like when he suffers)
so this is basically it, i'm also thinking about arthur getting turned into a vampire by some rogue malkavian (who got killed immediately after) but it's neither here nor there
bonus john design for this au under the read more (cw: body horror)
Tumblr media
no one is ready for my silly little cat arthur au. no one is ready for my epic malevolent/vtm crossover. and yet i need to talk about them because i'm INSANE

Since you’re into dnd, have you ever heard of Dark Sun? It’s pretty good and horrific.
The name sounds familiar I think? I'm actually not usually super into the horror genre of tabletop, but I'm not opposed to it (especially since we always end up making it a shaun of the dead mix of horror and comedy because none of us can shut up)- one of my favorite games I played recently was a vampire the masquerade one where we walked into a room where a tzimisce had used people to make wallpaper and my character just did that "HMMMM. GROSS." John Mulaney bit at it

1. do not let anyone take your blood for any reason. the exceptions to this rule are andrei, john, erin, anja, and seb.  2. you will react with pain to religious iconography of all kinds. i used to frenzy when it happened, but that was a combination of my other issues. true faith makes it worse, so stay away from the religious sort of hunters. stay away from hunters in general, but religious hunters definitely. 3. not all baali are magnets for bugs like you are, but it’s a telling clue for those who know what baali are and hunt them.  4. you diablerized strauss, so your aura is tainted with black now. to members of the sabbat, that’s nothing special, and might in fact make them more likely to respect you. to the camarilla, it’s beyond dangerous. avoid camarilla gathering places.  5. i will begin teaching you thaumaturgy, but you need to keep your use of it very private. remember - you’re tzimisce.

Have you ever wanted to see a VTM Parody of The One Thing You Can’t Replace? Well you’re gonna get it.
its under a readmore, its exactly what it says on the tin.
Another story I heard about myself, this one happened when I was still in LA. We had this prince in LA who’s childe was a regular at our Elysium. His name was Prince LaCroix, and his childe Jake LaCroix was always at Elysium. He was a fledgling when I was an ancilla. So he was almost two centuries behind me. And Mr. LaCroix was an asshole, and one weekend he decided to leave town, which you should never do if you are an asshole. And Jake LaCroix decided to throw a party at the prince's manor. Hurray! And everyone around the city heard about it and we all got up individually and thought okay, let's go over there and destroy the place. I walked into this party. Everyone I had ever met was there and everyone was drinking like it was Gehenna. People were drinking like it was the Sabbat civil war and a Tzimisce was coming to saw our legs off. It was totally unsupervised. We were like Malkavians using Dementation, we were running wild.
I walked down, I walked down to the basement.
They had a pool table in the basement. One Brujah took a running start and threw his body onto the pool table and broke it in half. A Nosferatu found out which room was Prince LaCroix's and went upstairs and let the rats loose on his computer.
So the party was going great.
I'm standing in the basement, and I've got ghoul blood trickling down my face; the kind you see in movies. And I'm standing there and I’ve got this drunk ghoul blood in me and I'm starting to blackout and I guess someone said like something, something Camarilla and in a brilliant moment of word association, I yelled: “Fuck Da Camarilla! fuck Da Camarilla!” And everyone else joined in. A hundred drunk neonate kindred yelling “fuck  Da Camarilla”. With the confidence of guys who have already been in torpor and aren't afraid of it anymore, you know that like, ‘I'll serve my nickel, you come and take me’, confidence. But neonates. The reason someone had said something, something Camarilla was because the Camarilla was there. So the Sheriff walked down the stairs and got to the bottom in the basement and looked out over a sea of drunk fledglings yelling; “ Fuck Da Camarilla” in his face, but he was almost impressed. He was like “wow”. And then he leaned into his walkie-talkie and went ‘get the paddy wagon’. And my friend John, who is now a sire, this man now has childer, he grabbed a vase, smashed it on the ground, and yelled “SCATTER”. And everyone ran into different directions.
We all ran in different directions. It was like that scene in Ratatouille when the humans come in the kitchen and all the rats go in different ways. We all ran in different directions. I used Celerity and ran into the laundry room and I jumped up on the washing machine and I crawled out through a window into the backyard and now I'm running through the backyard and there was this big chain-link fence and I thought ‘I've never climbed a fence that high before’. And then I woke up at home.
On Monday, I went to Elysium because that’s what you did back then. And I'm walking into the building and who do I see but Jake LaCroix. And he says to me “hey, were you at my party on Saturday “and I said “no”, you know, like a liar. And “he said things got really outta hand. Someone broke the pool table. Someone let out rats on my sire's computer.” But the worst thing, he says; the worst thing is that “someone stole these old antique photos of my grandsire and my sire is freaking out about it.” And I had that thought that only blackout drunks and Steve Urkel can have.
Did I do that?
I figured no. I wouldn't have done that. But I was never sure, until two decades later, relax. I'm playing video games with this guy named Alex that we also frequented Elysium with. Two decades later, we've both moved by now. We're playing video games for a couple of hours, and then Alex says to me, “Hey, come here I want to show you something” and he takes me into his bedroom, and then he takes me into a side room off of his bedroom. Never a good thing to have. He shows me a tiny room that is covered wall to wall in stolen antique photos from different people's parties over the years. And I said “Why? Why do you do this?” And Alex said, because “It's the one thing you can't replace.”

🤞 and 🤞 for johnny boy
for andrei: she used to have conflicted feelings about being acquainted with a tzimisce, but over time she’s realized this was just bias passed onto her from her housemates, who educated her on kindred matters with a serious camarilla slant. now she’s used to it, and considers andrei a good friend with sophisticated taste, and an elder she can trust. his parental attitude towards quinton and john, who she sees as peers, has helped with this. she can almost forget about the flesh house sometimes!
for john: she considers him a good friend. they have a lot in common, and he’s easy to chat with! since his embrace, though, erin has felt distant from him. she instinctively wants to help, but being camarilla (and only a neonate herself) she knows there’s not much she can do. like with quinton, she worries there’s no place for her in his life. the best she can do is be there if he ever needs her.
