oh, that post reminded me too of another atrocity i heard on the evangelical christmas station: a version of "we three kings" that didn't even do the (cowardly) typical thing of omitting the last verse, but changed myrrh to a sweet perfume that breathes new life with generic glorifying tacked on.

i realize that contemplating the horrifying death that made your entire fucking religion possible is not evangelicals' favorite thing to do but LITERALLY for the love of god!!! where is the terror!!!
