talking about the sword of destiny with my dad: incomprehensible edition
#for the unfamiliar thats both the second short story Chunk in the witcher series and one of the short stories therein#and im kind of obsessed with them just in a way that doesn't manifest in me posting about it (yes that does happen)#but i keep looking between it and the berserk ive read back and forth and going GUH#they overlap a lot to me. from where i am with both of them#like guts and geralt both have the fear of monstrosity and inherent danger of closeness to others thing going on#combined with a subdued loneliness and tenderness that i think makes them work as characters#rather than just being slabs of edge#geralt's pretty blatantly soft imo but whatever#not saying theyre the same they just overlap to me#sapkowski and miura are on opposite ends of corded telephones kicking their feet in my mind#also i have told him to read berserk many times and he seems motivated to do so like fr this time !!! YIPPEE
