atsumu was late, but there’s one thing he’d never forget to do.

wc: 452, fluff, post-timeskip, gn reader, not proof read

late. atsumu miya was late as hell.

his practice was supposed to start bright and early today- six am sharp. it was six fifty four right now.

“shit, shit, shit !!”

atsumu fumbled with the bag strapped around his shoulder as it falls on and off him. he runs around the house with panic in his eyes and calls out for you, opening the fridge doors to look for his protein shake, the one that you make.

“babe, did you find the jersey ?!” after a quick dig for the bottle, he quickly grabs for it and closes the doors a little too hard, making the containers inside rattle against each other gently. almost on queue, hearing your rushed footsteps, the blonde makes his way to the genkan, crouching down and stomping on his shoes with more force than he intends, creating unwanted creases. with one hand on his footwear, the other tugged open his practice bags stubborn zipper, trying to make it easier and faster for you to put in his washed (and probably still a little wet) jersey.

“hey, baby. put on your shoes, i’ll do this.” atsumu looks up at you as he hears your voice. his shoulders relax slightly but he wastes no time. he mumbles a quick ‘thanks’ before using two big hands to slip on his shoes. just as he finishes putting the pairs on, you finish putting the leftover items into his bag, stuffed with his change of clothes, shoes, and a few snacks you’d always thrown in. he quickly grabs for the strap and swings it on his shoulder as you rush him out.

“hurry, you’re late enough as it is !!” you quickly open the front door of the house, but atsumu stops and looks down at you, wide eyes and still displaying a bit of panic. but … there was something else behind it. and no matter how much you try and struggle, it’s hard to move a six foot two pro volleyball player out the door,.

“i forgot something !”

“‘tsumu, are you serious ?!” atsumu nods quickly, iris’s shining gently and leaning down to meet your face. cupping the side of your cheek with gentle hands, he places a gentle kiss on your lips.

oh, have you forgotten because of all the rush ? there has never been a moment when atsumu had left home without a kiss to your lips and a gentle ‘i love you,’ making the ring on your finger feel all the more noticeable.

“love ya. i’ll be home soon, yeah ?” with that, atsumu leaves the house with a quick swing of the door, rushing to his car as you hear him start the engine.

“we’re a gamer couple; of course we obviously met on league.” heeseung walked to his set-up, pretending to open up the game.

“we’re a gamer couple; of course our set-ups are side by side.” heeseung’s idea naturally, he wanted to keep you by his side at all times, even when he gamed.

“we’re a gamer couple; of course i spend all of his money on games and dlcs.” you said with a smirk on your face.

“hey!” heeseung giggled. “you can’t say that, the guys are gonna call me a simp.”

“you are a simp, hee. and weak-willed."  you laughed.

“alright then, i have something for your ass.” heeseung walked over to his chair and sat with his legs spread wide. tilting your head, you decided to just go with it.

Joost leaned against the railing, a cigarette held loosely between his fingers as he took a drag, letting the smoke curl up into the evening sky. It was a long day for him, but you were here to help him with anything, and he was glad.

The sun was setting, casting a warm, golden glow over everything, and he couldn't help but think how perfect the moment was. His eyes flicked over to you, sitting on the porch swing, a soft smile playing on your lips as you watched him.

With a final drag, Joost stubbed out the cigarette on the railing and made his way over to you. He could see the way your nose wrinkled slightly, a sure sign you weren't a fan of the lingering smell. But he hoped maybe this time you'd let it slide.

"Hey." he murmured, leaning down to press a kiss to your lips. You turned your head the last second, and his kiss landed on your cheek instead. "Joost, you know I don't like the smell." you said, trying to keep the teasing out of your voice. Just messing with him a bit.

He pulled back, eyes wide and a pout already forming on his lips. "But... I missed you." he said, his voice taking on a whiny edge that made your heart melt a little. He looked so crestfallen, like a puppy who'd just been told no.

You couldn't help but giggle at his expression, reaching up to cup his face in your hands. "Oh, Joost, you're adorable when you pout." you teased, pressing a kiss to his forehead instead.

He huffed, crossing his arms over his chest and looking away, though the corners of his mouth twitched upwards. "It's not fair." he muttered. "I just wanted one little kiss."

You laughed outright then, the sound bright and musical in the evening air. "Well, you can have as many kisses as you want." you stated, "as long as you don't smell like an ashtray."

Joost's pout deepened for a moment before he finally cracked a smile, his eyes softening as he looked at you. "Fine, fine," he said, leaning down to nuzzle his nose against yours. "I guess I'll just have to brush my teeth and freshen up for you."

You giggled again, wrapping your arms around his neck and pulling him down onto the swing beside you. "Now that sounds like a plan." you said, resting your head on his shoulder. "Besides, I love you more when you smell like you and not smoke."

He sighed contentedly, pressing a kiss to the top of your head. "I love you too," he murmured. "Even if you are a bit of a kiss tease.”

Dean watches silently as you pad across the yard toward his brother—no, what used to once be. It is only his flesh that remains now. His flesh, which has been overtaken by something so insidious—so evil and vile—it's difficult for even him to stomach.

All due to his own failures.

Always his failures. Always the weight of an ungrateful world bearing down upon his shoulders. Because there is no one else to uphold it. This terrible, terrible burden.

"Isn't she lovely?" Lucifer asks, a small smirk crawling across his lips as he cups your cheek.

You merely stare up at him, dead-eyed and wholly lifeless.

Dean's eyes trail along your form, which is now eerily slender beneath your thin silken gown. Save for your swollen stomach that his hand slides along, resting there atop it proudly.

"She's carrying my heir."

"The anti-christ," Dean spits at him.

It doesn't phase him. "Every king needs his successor."

He looks at Dean then. "Does he not?"

Dean looks at you. "Sweetheart, look at me. Y/N, look at me," he pleads, desperately.

You slowly turn your head toward him, glancing down to the dead body—his body—lying lifelessly upon the ground, then back to him. It doesn't stir even a miniscule reaction from you. Not so much as a furrowed brow.

God, he doesn't know that he wants to even try to imagine the horrific things Lucifer has subjected you to in this life.

You've given up.

He can see it.

And he breaks.

His sweet girl. His vibrant girl. His loving and selfless girl. This... This will be the last thing you ever give. He knows it.

You won't survive this.

How—how the fuck—could the other version of himself have given up on you? Left you to his treacherous clutches? How...how could he?

He can't fathom it: knowing that Lucifer has you and just...letting him, while doing nothing to stop it—to save you.

How many days, weeks, months—years—did you wait for him to come for you, until you stopped looking out the window, knowing he no longer cared?

How many times were you forced to lie there while he took you over and over, until your body finally began to change and alter from an unspeakable form of life beginning to grow inside of you?

He takes a step forward, while you step closer to Lucifer, trembling.

He tucks a lock of hair behind your ear, then presses a gentle kiss to your forehead as he glances behind you to one of his cronies. "Take my dove back to her cage. She's tired and needs her rest."

You do as you're bid without quarrel, walking away—a man carrying a rifle following closely behind—leaving without a word.
