two tropes in anime that always fuck me up are 1) when the ghost/memory of a dead character is shown on screen while someone they loved is talking to them, and then it pans away, and when it pans back the ghost has vanished and 2) when a character is walking with their friends and then a child passes them and they do a double-take as they see that it's their younger self. They watch their younger self walk away for a second before their friends call them from up ahead, and they turn away from their lonely childhood towards their cheerful present, surrounded by people who adore them

#for number 1 i'm thinking specifically of (op) nami talking to bellemere in her childhood home before leaving cocoyashi with the straw hats #and also one of the season finales of natsuyuu where natsume is having a picnic with his friends and family in the fujiwaras' backyard #and then it pans up to his bedroom window where the curtains are blowing #they obscure the figure sitting in the window but we see her legs and skirt and we can tell it's reiko #for number 2 i'm thinking of one of the natsuyuu openings #maybe from season 5? idk
