I’m making notes for club policies (indoctrinating people into small sword because actually it’s based) and started writing “indoctrinate into SS cult” and then had to sit there for a moment and realize *why* that phrasing specifically is, indeed, not how to go about that.
#for context it’s a Nazi dogwistle#Nazi tw#hema#smallsword#fencing#I’m so excited for the upcoming semester >:)

Idk if this sounds stupid but I watched ur video of the nazi symbol which was the Z with a line through it. When I write I write my Z’s with a line through it, I don’t want to be offensive in anyway towards Jewish people but is this something that is related to the nazi symbol? Would it better if I stop writing it that way for future reference? It’s fine if u don’t want to answer because you’ve been getting a lot of nazi asks today and those in general always suck
The n@zi asks were the other day, so dw
But yeah, you can write your z with a line through it, as it's about the context. The gen z tattoo is exactly a n@zi symbol, but it's too close to wolfsangel that, in the context of a tattoo, makes it not safe to wear/a dogwistle. In the context of just writing a word, it's fine, it's just a letter then

One of the earlier uses of Nazi dogwistles was the replacement of words with google products, for example “gas the jews” became “Skype the Gmails” or something like that. The point wasn’t to prevent people from knowing whats going on, even without context you can tell that something fishy is going on with that example, but to make it so that google couldn’t censor this stuff efficiently without also censor talk about their stuff, which, obviously they wanted to avoid.
Alot of newish dogwistles seem to focus less on avoiding detection than making sure anyone who tries to police it gets alot of neutrals in the crossfire, making them look deranged and pushing neutrals towards their beliefs. The “Okay” hand sign - “White power” hand sign hoax was a recent one that was entirely focused at making sure randos were accuses of being Nazis, though its not a perfect example because it was, to my knowledge, never intended to be used as an actual form of convert communication. Honestly I feel like actual dogwistles have dropped off in usage alot in the past two decades and have been replaced more with these.
i feel like the concept of a dog whistle is kind of more harmful than beneficial. nazis subtly signal to each other *sometimes* but accusing people of being a nazi for something totally innocuous 1) is obviously potentially bad on an immediate object-level (falsely accusing people is bad) and 2) makes you look crazy and paranoid, without really achieving anything
