One of these days I'll manage to write a chapter of something and not have it break ten thousand words before I'm even done working on it.

This has not been one of those days.

The chapter I'm working on is going to break ten thousand words regardless of what I want and it cannot be stopped.

This is what happens when I let characters loose to talk to each other without any proper supervision (i.e. a planned script in the Actual Fucking Outline).
