#for anyone in the trigun tag who happens to stumble across this (funny how the tumblr search function works): Fen is an OC

TriMax Western/Outlaw AU has me in a chokehold, so some thoughts:
Vash is an outlaw wanted for a string of robberies/destructions that have been happening across the country. They weren't his doings, but he of course ended up with the blame just by being there. Wolfwood is an ex hitman traveling with Vash and just trying to keep the two of them out of trouble
The two stumble across a small seemingly abandoned farm on the outskirts of town and decide to take refuge there for a bit, just lay low
Turns out this farm is Fen's great aunt's, who passed away a couple months ago, and it's being passed on to her.
So Fen travels down to this farm that's been lying mostly dormant for god knows how long and while she's in the kitchen lowkey panicking about what's she's supposed to be do with an entire ass farm, there's a commotion outside. The chickens are upset about something in the barn. So she grabs the shotgun by the back door and makes her way out to investigate
Long story short: Fen finds Vash in the barn, they come to an understanding (she'll let Vash stay on the farm as long as he needs as long as he doesn't cause trouble) and then one of the chickens sneaks up behind her and squawks really loudly, startling her, and she ends up shooting Vash in the leg (but it's okay! It's not a super bad injury!)
Later in the night Wolfwood returns, sees that there's suspiciously a light on in the kitchen, goes in to investigate and finds Vash getting patched up by Fen. There's some shouting, hurried introductions, rushed explanations, but then everything is fine and good
Vash and Wolfwood stay for a bit, a lot longer than Wolfwood was anticipating (initially was just gonna be until Vash's leg finished healing, but then Vash was adamant about helping out around the property and helping Fen figure everything out so they end up staying for soooo long) and Wolfwood gets a bit antsy but can't seem to convince Vash to leave.
but in the end they all become really good friends and the farm gets fixed up! (whether Fen decides to sell it or keep it is still tbd! but I like the idea of all this work being put in to fix up the place started as just trying to spruce the place up so it /could/ be sold but eventually turns into "oh this is OUR home now", real sucker for that plotline. Fen's aunt also just really didn't want the place sold off, at least not for awhile, so that's why she doesn't immediately sell the place, plus sentimental reasons)
