a few years ago I wrote a sonnet for a medieval english literature class assignment and i was just looking back on it and uh. it has some like, ridiculously pointed griddlehark vibes (at least the second half of it does) considering i wrote it in 2018 and gideon the ninth came out in 2019 and i didnt even read it until like a couple months ago

If I could be a lock of curly hair And you the finger that it wraps around; If I could be the ear, and you the sound; If I could be the doe, and you the mare, I’d gladly let you pinch my flesh and tear me into tiny pieces. Hold me sound And let me feel you close, and spin me round, and let me flutter gaily through the air.

Sweet lady, you may bite me into shreds If it will let me dwell between your teeth Then swallow me to sleep within your dark. Then, though the men may call my body dead, For loving you and letting loving breathe I’ll live forever trapped within your heart.

UHH #the first half not really besides the codependent homoeroticism #but the first three lines of the sestet were stuck in my head the other day and i was like hey haha vibes wow #so i looked the thing back up cus. again i wrote it in 2018 #and the last line is I'LL LIVE FOREVER TRAPPED WITHIN YOUR HEART??????????#HELLOOOOOOOOOO??????????????#for a split second im like DID TAMSYN MUIR SOMEHOW COPY ME--wait shes in new zealand and catholic #not really in any shape or space to be in any form exposed to the work of a child in provo #also honestly that last bit gives the immediate impression that the poem is from gideon's point of view #the line 'i could be the doe and you the mare' puts me as like...deer harrow and horse gideon fursonas.............#thats mainly just based on size and vibe differences though. the horse attribute of horrible anatomy leading to insane homi/suicidal inev #inevitabilities is harrowcore #either harrow is a traditional willowy doe and gideon is a traditional warhorse #or gideon is a big strong beautiful elk lady and harrow is like a feral little arabian #but yeah. ive been kind of obsessed with 'sweet lady you may bite me into shreds if it will let me dwell between your teeth'#and it is Very one flesh one end #also yeah i have a problem with enjambment let me live
