I want to scream and shout about The June Archive and Restoration Project ARG, but I don't know enough about it to scream and shout.
I'm so sad about that right now. Man, I was really hoping to scream and do a lil shout.
It's good, the best way I can sum it up. Like genuinely, it's good, and I just watched the NightMind analysis video on it. (posted like 17 hours ago by the time I'm posting this). I literally sat there through the whole 47 minutes going 'THATS SO COOL' like 10 times and I don't do that often.

Zayne is freezing, he needs warmth, you're warm and also he loves you and needs you on every level. He kisses you, pushing you down and is already groaning into your mouth the moment he realizes he somehow found himself on top of you. Despite the bitter chill that his evol was caused, your body heat was awakening something in him. The soft brushes of your lips as he almost whimpers because it's almost too much right now. 
And then you slot your knee between his legs, noticing how needy he is. There's never any judgment. He just went through something and needs your comfort and something else. He feels your knee brushing against him and his hips roll without even thinking about it. He didn't even realize he had managed to get hard, his cock throbbing in his pants.
You grab onto the lapels of his coat and drag him down until your mouth is brushing against his ear, "Come now, sweet boy, you can use my body for now. I know you need it." You press your leg closer to his cock and that's all he needed to spur him on.
His face now buried in your neck, comforted by your scent and warmth as his hips are grinding down on your leg. Not only does he let out the softest of whimpers, but he's panting. He didn't even realize how close he was as he's pressing sloppy kisses along your neck, your hands threading through his hair as you murmur sweet nothings to him. Not with how he looks. His cheeks now have a healthy red glow, his body emanating warmth of its own as his skin is now damp with both sweat and the remains of ice from his evol.

Bonus! If a game has character customization, do you like to make a completely new character everytime or do you like to use the same OC/Sim?
Feel free to ramble, especially if you really enjoy a game (❁´◡`❁)
I don't play a lot of games. I didn't have any video game for a long time, only had a Nintendo DS (then exchanged for a DS lite that is broken and gathering dust on my shelves). My games were mostly "girls" games: think Cooking Mama, fashion/styling games, Totally Spies, High School Musical... I had Sims 2 Strangetown (that I got second hand because I rarely get things fresh and new). I also borrowed games from friends: Animal Crossing and Professor Layton.
OK but here's the thing: I'm scared when I play video games. And by scared it's that I'm so immersed I get tense for nothing. (also thinking I would always die) I never finished Sims 2 strangetown on DS because I was scared my character would die when on the mission to go to the desert and find the aliens. Professor Layton's soundtrack is super cool but I was tense during all my gameplay.
So all games I could enjoy alone really are those where the story is just super cute or non existent. I love video games' lore though. Right now, I make time to play Outer Wilds with my boyfriend. He's the one holding the controls and I'm backseating him while keeping memory of the lore, where we went to last, etc. When I was younger I really liked playing PC games my mom had and liked, and those were mainly with the Zylom platform, management games: Diner Dash and Delicious. Also I love Papa games because I was getting bored at school ehem. Now my mom is really into farming games and guess what? I have the same tastes as my mom so I really like those.
One game I come back to a lot and the first I got for myself after hearing about it, is Ooblets. I play on PC and even edited the wiki at some point (now I'm too focused on TS4).
I mainly play on PC for the Sims and Ooblets but I also have a switch! If you guys have any good game to recommend to me on the switch, I would love to know them! :D For now my Switch is only for AC but I think I'll try to get Stardew Valley there?
When I'm bored I play Mini Metro or Mini Motorways. I have lots of games waiting for me thanks to Epic's free games but Sable is definitely on my list after i finish Submerged Hidden Depths. We don't talk about Europa Universalis in my Epic library
And for the bonus question: I do me everytime there's customization. With or without blue hair, the only thing that might change. My first save in the Sims? My simself. Bad one or painfully accurate, I don't know really.

Which of the Rareware games after the Microsoft buyout did you play and what were your thoughts on them?
Let's see... if we can count GBA games, it's:
Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge: Played and finished. The first Banjo game that really hooked me, weirdly enough. I usually hate isometric perspective stuff, especially platformers, so the fact this hooked me so well is pretty special.
SabreWulfe: Charming, I guess, but I never put more than a few hours into this. Strictly fine.
The DKC GBA Ports: Almost all universally bad. They're ugly, washed out, with nasty music and sounds. I still think the SNES versions look great, but this amplifies all the worst parts of their aesthetics. All of the new content (more dialog, new bosses) are awful. It feels like the worst parts of DK64's presentation retroactively applied to games that don't need it. DKC1 GBA is by far the worst because when they scaled the game to the GBA screen they weren't super careful about preserving controls or item placement, so it's like walking through your house after everyone's shifted your furniture around by a couple inches. DKC3 GBA is probably the best, and I may have enjoyed it more than the SNES version.
Viva Pinata: I didn't put tons of time into this. Once it got to the point where getting new pinatas to join your farm (or mate) involved super complex, circumstantial things, I got bored of it because it felt more difficult and luck-based than it needed to be.
It's Mr. Pants!: A strange distraction but I never played it more than one or two times because I barely understood it and it felt overly simple.
Banjo-Pilot: I think I beat it once and it vanished from memory.
Diddy Kong Racing DS: Could have been a really good game but just like with the DKC GBA games, it had this vibe of like... being cheaper and more cutesy than the original. They changed a lot of the vibe and really amplified the "we think this is a game for very young children" tone that was originally a little more ambiguous in the N64 game. And in the case of Diddy Kong Racing, it really didn't need that. They messed with a very good game and made it worse in most aspects. Also the touch and mic stuff feels so dated and awkward now. They took a timeless game and made it very... uh, timeful?
Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts: I am a defender of this game, but only to a point. I'm not in love with the aesthetic but building vehicles and completing missions with them is incredible fun and I love the game's meta sense of humor. Unfortunately I think as you get close to the end of the game it kinda falls apart. The Colosseum and Terrarium of Terror are just too big and boring to navigate. I never finished the game because Terrarium of Terror was such a pain in the ass to get through.
Sea of Thieves: I played this a little when I had a free Game Pass sub a few years ago. I think this was right after the update where Sea of Thieves started getting proper questlines and a real narrative. I tried to solo what I could but it's a very difficult game to solo when you run into other players that are out to kill you. Quests are designed to be slightly random too, so I'd fail a quest, try again, and have completely different stuff to do. About the time friends heard I was struggling and were telling me they'd hop on and help me out, I actually started to develop sea sickness. I never got nauseous, but I did get dizzy, and even when I closed my eyes I could "feel" the motion of my boat rocking back and forth. Which is a shame, because as a terminal sufferer of video game wanderlust, I love the idea of sailing around and exploring islands.
Shoutouts to the Banjo-Kazooie and Perfect Dark remasters on XBLA. I finished those games happily. I even did the 101% clear on Banjo, something I hadn't done in a Rareware game since DKC2.

Something I never quite understood is what it is with people and Daisy from the Mario games. Why is there always so much talk about wanting her in the games and hype when she actually is? What exactly is so special about her that gets people like this? I don't think this is a bad thing or anything like that, It is just something that confuses me.
Are you a fan of Dragon Ball? If so, you've surely noticed that the power creep has rendered a majority of the cast irrelevant, with Goku and Vegeta being tantamount to the only ones that really matter in most scenarios, with characters like Yamcha literally not being allowed to participate in fate-deciding battles anymore
You may also have noticed that Dragon Ball Super has more recently been trying to remedy this. Super Hero hardly had Goku or Vegeta in it at all, focusing on how to bring Gohan and Piccolo up to speed, while there was a mini-arc in the manga tying into Super Hero establishing Goten and Trunks as more relevant characters
Fans love that. They love seeing characters who either exist entirely on or who have been pushed to the fringe being brought to the centerstage. There are all kinds of reasons for this, but in the case of Dragon Ball, I think it's a matter of variety vs. stagnation. "Looks like Goku got another power-up that'll serve to elevate him above the rest of the cast and render them useless again"
Daisy is in a pretty similar boat. She's appeared in dozens of Mario titles, but how many of them are the Kart, Party or Sports titles? How many times has Daisy appeared in an actual Mario game?
Once
Daisy first appeared in Super Mario Land for the GameBoy, a spinoff not even made by Shigeru Miyamoto, and even there she was the damsel in distress who didn't actually appear until the end of the game. A very common event for video game characters, especially at the time, but the point is that her involvement in the main Mario franchise is as minimal as it gets
Since then, though, her appearances in the non-platformers have given her a lot of opportunity to flesh out her personality, most notably with how energetic and tomboyish she is in Mario Strikers compared to the more bubbly and girlish Peach

With their differences highlighted, it was natural that some fans would gravitate more to one side than the other, but Peach is still the main heroine of the franchise. She appears in most if not all mainline Mario games in some capacity, either as the damsel or a playable character, and now has two games to call her own
Aside from Mario and Peach, who else has gotten to be playable alongside Mario? Obviously Luigi as the original player 2, three colors of Toad across Mario 2, New Super Mario Bros Wii and U, Captain Toad in the 3D World minigames, Yoshi and Wario in 64 DS, Toadette and Nabbit in U Deluxe, Rosalina in 3D World, and most recently Bowser Jr. in Bowser's Fury
That's 13 playable characters (9 if you count all of the Toads together and don't count Captain Toad since he's in a minigame), with Daisy notably absent despite being a fan favorite. Toadette being playable was especially egregious because they gave her a power-up that effectively just turned her into Peach with a different outfit. Rosalina was also "just another Princess" same as Daisy, but introduced much more recently, so it felt like they were acknowledging they could bring in any character they wanted, but who would want boring old Daisy when there's a shiny new Princess right here? Not knocking on Rosalina, I love her too, but I've wanted to see more Daisy content since I was a child
Do you remember how excited people were about Pauline showing up in Odyssey? Sure she'd shown up in the Mario vs. Donkey Kong games, but again, those were spinoffs that most people didn't play. This was direct acknowledgment of her character in the main story, and now she's showing up in the Sports titles! Further awareness of the character means more opportunities for something new!
Even if Wonder just took place in Sarasaland and Daisy was a background character, that would have been shocking because it would have been her first time back in 34 years! But no! They skipped straight to her being playable!! This means that she has a much greater chance of coming back to be playable in future mainline games or even spinoffs like the new Peach game or the more story-driven RPGs
Even better, though? This sets a precedent. Who knows who could be playable next?? We could see Pauline be playable for the first time in a mainline game! We could see Wario come back as a Wario Land crossover! We could even see Waluigi actually be acknowledged by the canon for once!!!
Daisy is beloved because of her personality and was wanted as a playable character because of her absence. Her inclusion is a huge deal because it means that Nintendo has actually been listening to us and knows how to give us what we want. It shows growth on Nintendo's part, and serves as a sign that they will continue to give us more of it going forward

what i think the straw hats favorite nintendo switch game would be
luffy - kirbys dream buffet, he likes kirby bc he eats a lot and (kinda?) stretches to copy abilities, and this is is like mario kart but you eat to get fasterr, if not that then hed like ARMS, ehich is pretty mucha fighting game where everyone can extend their arms(when theyre playing as a group he HAS to be player one, o matter the game bc "hes the captain")
zoro - fitness boxing 2, he wouldnt play games all to often, more focused on training and napping, (although sometimes there are like group sleepover nights where they olay mario party) but if he can train while doing this hes fine
nami - captain toad: treasure tracker, need i explain??? you literally find treasure shes all over this shit. shes def the person to stop and get all the coins and literally tear up if she dies bc then you lose coins. she only spends money on the powerups thatll actually help her and if its a multiplayer game where u need another player to revive u then shed keep them all dead and would charge them for her help
usopp - idk he probably likes minecraft, its simple(ish) and he doesnt need to put himself in that much trouble if wants, he probably beats the game in creative and then shows chopper the end poem and is like "this was no challengs for a mighty warrior of the sea like myself!" and then they both cried to the poem
sanji - cooking mama, he thinks her recipes are pretty bad but he likes mama, probably unironically calls her a milf and got into a genuine depressive episode when he saw papa eat her food, zoro bullied him for getting upset about a fictional woman and he started screaming about how zoro "didn't see their chemistry", and "papa doesnt deserve her"
chopper - he doesnt have a favorite, he isnt very good and prefers watching others or playing with others, if he gets stuck robin helps him like that one picture of the family in the 90s where the mom is helping them beat mario or smthn. hes the type where when they play as a group hes scared to mess up so him and robin are are a team
robin - tetris, she likes trying to beat her high score, but she doesnt think too much about it. she probably only plays once in a blue moon, or when shes helping chopper, but for some reason shes really good despite like.. never playing
franky - dude probably makes his own games and his own gaming platform. he probably has updated everyones switches so they can take switch games, ds games, 3ds games, and the games he makes. most of his games are about cola and just say super over and over so hes the only one who actually plays them
brook - he is an avid rhythm game enthusiast!!! his favorite switch rhythm game is hatsune miku: project diva mega39's his fingers dont work on the touch screen (because theyre bones-) so he never uses it, and since hes old it took him like forever to understand it but he got there
jinbei - similar to brook, since hes old he doesnt rlly understand, however hes different bc he doesnt try to learn LMAO during slumber party nights where they play games as a group, hes the group mediator, hes just there to make sure everyone gets out aliven mvp imo). he probably uses youtube on his switch every now and then for the live videos for news, and it ended with him on part 257 on some kids shopkins story, and deep into the cookie swirl c lore (the next day he gave it back to nami and said "luffy will probably break his, use mine as a spare" but it was just bc he couldnt handle it any more)

Okay this is gonna be a very very long post So!! I am going to give this one a line break hehe~ I was going to go take my own screenshots but instead I decided to just grab pictures from the interactive map!
Outskirts - SU-A13

This room is just a very random kind of out of your way kind of room, doesn't really have much going on aside from an early platforming challenge. But I really like the backrgound here, the depth, the height of it. This is the first room that made me go 'woooooow' and kind of captured that feeling of there being so much more to discover than what's just in front of you as the player.
Industrial Complex - HI-B13

Very similar reasons to the first room on this list, this one was a room I didn't even know existed until like 6 months into playing the game hehe. I like the layered feeling this room has and it's also fun to navigate while avoiding the lizard that spawns here. It's also where I killed my first vulture by getting the bird stuck in one of the corners and stabbing it while crying. Used to be soooooo scared of those things!
Drainage System - DS-A05

Another room that I almost never go to! I really dislike swimming through the long tunnel sections because I always think there's something after me so I usually take the water maze up top. However! This one I just really like. The rust, the water, the fact it kinda looks like my old pc in the back with those fan-like things. It really gives me 'you are in a computer' vibes. Doesn't offer much in terms of environment to climb but it has lilypucks! Those are like my favourite item in game bc pretty. (DS-A11 almost won here, and DS-B07 however I have trauma from B07 because of being jumpscared by a red centipede in Spearmaster's campaign then again as Saint. Honourable mentions though!)
Chimney Canopy - CC-A02

THERE IS A DOGGY IN THE BACKGROUND!!! Okay but in all seriousness, this room I have seen a lot of because my very first playthrough I got so completely lost looking for garbage wastes (don't ask I don't know how I ended up here) and I just... really liked this room. It has a little bit of platforming, a popcorn plant, doggy, and I really love the graffiti in the background which I'm fairy certain is supposed to be an overseer, specifically one of Moon's! But yeah, mainly this room tops because of Doggy.
Garbage Wastes - GW-C02

This room does one of my favourite things really really well. I love the vibes of something absolutely fucking MASSIVE in the distance, and seeing those fragments of fallen bridge, the pieces of machines left to rust, the big ass chains suspending something out of view... Oh man, ooooh mannn... I really really like this one. I remember thinking when I first played if there was a way to go up in this room, sadly there is not but I wondered, and it made me think and hope I got to see some huge ass stuff soon (I was not disapointed, I have the opposite of megalophobia)
Shaded Citadel - SH-D01

It is such a shame shaded is... shaded... because this region is gorgeous!! I'm also completely fine with running through this place dark because if I can't SEE the spiders then they're not real! I like this room because it has an almost blend of cathedral like design mixed with a little bit of brutalist industrial. Seeing those distant shapes through the fog, just the foggy dark vibe in general? Ough I love stuff like that, very mysterious. I also like the water rooms that lead to memory crypts too! I do wonder why there's so many void spawn in those rooms though... hmm
Pipeyard - VS-E07

Had to take TWO screenshots of this bad boy because this room is LONG! I looooove verticality in a room, and this room is just soooo pretty. It has those lovely sky islands colours with the vibes of industrial complex and once again, that feeling of just being a rat stuck in a gaming pc. But this blends together nice pastel colours and brutal decaying industrial really well! Pipeyard is soooo under rated though and I don't get why people are like 'urgh whats the point?'... like the point is to explore, the point is to love this cruel dying world... that's what this room says to me, that there's beauty even in a world that wants to die.
Shoreline - SL-B04

This kind of blends together my reasonings for my fave outskirts room, shaded room and pipeyard room. I just felt so high up here, above the world, this huge vertical climb, this strange mechanical monolith above the sea belowm, it just evokes this powerful feeling of lonliness. Just one little slugcat and this big world layed out before you. I then proceeded to get munched on by the white lizard that lives here.
Sky Islands - SI-A07

Listen, if you didn't guess this is my favourite room in this region I don't know what to tell you lmao. This does So Much of what I love So Well. The clouds, the colours, the challenge of getting here, the story associated with it, the verticality, the little bit of platforming, the bacground elements, the feelings it invokes. 10/10, such a fantastic room. And you know... Spearmaster is my favourite slugcat sooooooo... yeah need I say more? This was actually a harder choice than you might think though because so much of sky islands does the things I love so goddamn well, but yeah, this one does it best.
Farm Arrays - LF-J01

oKAY I hate farm arrays but this room, oh god this fucking room. 10/10 amazing, has that emotion of a journey nearing it's end, hits you with that nostalgia for something you barely even remember, the music, the vibes, the colours... really makes you feel like you're leaving something behind, like this is where things change. I love this room.
The Exterior - UW-F01

Borrowing this screenshot from my other blog, rainworlddaily. Just look at this. Just... EVERYTHING I love about level design gets served to me on a plate here. That sense of sheer WONDER, the accomplishment!!! The fact that there is so much beyond this tiny slice of the world, like Holy Fuck!!! AUGHHH
Five Pebbles - SS-D02

Memory conflux I love yooooouuuuu. This place is just so alien and different from everywhere else in the game, including the rest of Pebbles. It feels alive. It really gives you the impression that you're within a creature, not just a machine. Plus you get to smash into Pebbles' stupid brain bits in here and climb on his weird wiggly parts, bonus points for pissing him off. 100000/10 makes me feel like I'm an ant facing god.
Subterranean - SB-C07

At first I was like 'oh no i don't have a favourite here because this place bores me'. C07 baby I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry I forgot you. Big big fan of the lightning in this room. J02 (the leviathan room) is also very good but I'm scared of water in video games like... a lot, and this one just has the ambience, the style! Gives me the vibes of a subway station, and considering this place does connect to where there are trains, it could be! I mean... there's train carriages in the damn background here hehe
Outer Expanse - OE-TREETOP

Another screenshot I borrowed from rainworlddaily~ Treetop my beloved, my favourite room in the whole dang game. Treetop and the sky islands room are kissing because they do exactly the same thing so well. Treetop though, holy moly, this feels so... how do I explain? Melancholic, nostalgic? It feels like coming home. And looking at this for the first time, I actually cried. This room screams acceptance, it screams I am alive. Best room.
Submerged Superstructure - MS- FARSIDE

I'm actually going to seperate Submerged from Bitter Aerie because imo they should have been seperate regions. Submerged has a few really fun rooms, but I hate underwater segments, and I hate swimming AND water scares me. But this one! I like this one. Not just because you can get Moon's cloak from here but I feel like this takes what shoreline does and does it a lot better! It's also the very furthest east you can get! What is out there, I wonder, beyond Moon? Maybe we'll find out when the Watcher releases!
Past Garbage Wastes - GW-TOWER05

There's no acid in this room. It has fun platforming and climbing. Honestly I try to forget this region exists it has traumatised me. Past garbage wastes is the worst fucking place in this game except parts of Moon's region. I do think this is a fun room though and I wish we got more of this rather than the goddamn acid pools. Do you know how many times Artificer became a nuke because of those? Do you know how many times Spearmaster died to pissed off squidcada? Too many. Fuck this region.
Waterfront Facility - LM-EDGE02

Mmm... balls... Okay but in all seriousness, the precipice is the best part of this region, and while it's cool to see shoreline in such a different light it is so much more efficent to go across the sky bridge while dodging king vultures. I do just love the vibes this room has, how the foreground climbable elements meld with the backgroud, how you can use the environment to pick off the lizards.
Metropolis- LC- dome

DOME BELOVED!!! One of the top rooms that downpour brought to this game. Does exactly what the wall does, and once again does it so so so well. Looking out over the world, struggling to survive in the city, seeing other cities beyond... who else is struggling all alone out there? Who else is paying the price for the path they've put themself upon? I feel like this room sums up Arti's whole campaign pretty well, that ultimately the struggles Arti faces, they're so small in comparison.
Looks to the Moon - DM- VISTA

I'm sorry Moonie, but you're region gives me headaches even if I do think the way the rain cycles work in this region is sooooo cool and should be implimented if there's ever more iterators added to explore. This room is super pretty, very true, the lighting does wonders but... you can see the tragic begin to unfold, she's already breaking apart. This room says one simple thing; this place is doomed, no matter what you do.
Undergrowth - UG-C02

I only snipped the top of this room because this is getting.... very very long aha... I don't know why this room is my favourite. Is it the lighting? The echo? The way it's so fun to use Saint's big licky to get here? The way everything has changed yet stayed the same? I dunno! Undergrowth is a little irritating for me but the darker rooms with the cooler colours really hit some kind of itch and I wish there was more of these in this region, alas!
Silent Construct - CL-AI

Silent Construct: LISTEN. I had to okay?! This room summarises the whole game up into one tiny missable interaction. You don't HAVE to go see Pebbles as Saint unlike having to pass through Moon's room to get to the echo in shoreline. Pebbles is a footnote, he's barely even there, he's missable. This great big story that revolves around him? It's done, it's over. You said goodbye to these characters as Rivulet but if you're determined enough, if you really really want to, you can go spend your time with someone who doesn't even remember what you are, you can offer that scant bit of comfort. HE CALLS YOU FRIEND I AM NOT OKAY!!!!

This one is really cool! I wish we could have explored this place as Spearmaster but it offers a little glimpse into what else is on top of an iterator beyond just their city! Because considering the position of this place that's kinda just what I assume! I wonder what it looked like before Moon collapsed, maybe we'll find out one day!

Rubicon is an echo of a thousand memories, an echo of your hours of playing the game, of the locations you have learned to love, of the world that no longer is. It is a love letter, a final triumph, a final goodbye to that dying world you learned to you. This room feels like someone took treetop and both Pebbles and Moon and meshed them together. It is a tangle of everything you've done as every single slugcat up until this point, it is you going towards the final words spoken to you by the iterators should you choose to ascend them as Saint. It is... the end of a very long story, a very very long story. It's peaceful, it's chaotic, it is everything and nothing. Isn't that beautiful?

never gonna play that mario vs donkey kong remake once it comes out. even though i own the original and it was one of my all time favorite childhood games that i played way too much. because the remake will be nostalgic for about five levels and the rest would just be some shitty platformer or whatever. because i did not get past the first couple of levels in the YEARS i spent playing that game. i vividly remember just replaying the beginning of the game over and over and over again. in my defense i was an idiot of a kid and this is what happened for the majority of the games i would play. like the princess peach game for the ds i never got past the first couple levels and would just constantly restart my save file. i only ended up beating the game when i went back like a year ago and played the whole thing cause of my mario hyper fixation. the only video game i really remember beating all on my own and not just taking over one of my siblings save files, is some shitty lego friends game for the ds. i remember i beat that game and 100% it multiple times. idk man. little me must've actually been high cause why could i never beat a game. i played mario kart on the ds RELIGIOUSLY and it took me YEARS to get dry bones and i don't even have rob and im pretty sure if i went and looked right now i wouldn't even have all the stages unlocked. and i know for a fact i didn't beat all those challenges. so i have no clue how i spent so much time playing video games as a kid if i just was barely even playing them

Polls are done! I done polls here and Twitter and here be the observations! (Plus a dash of my own opinions) Thank you for your participation!
9-Volt - Twitter preferred the current voice from Melissa and Tumblr loves the old voice! Pre-Gold had him have a robotic filter on top of his words. Both takes have high register voices fitting a boy his age. I like both, seeing that the previous version is just him speaking with a filter, for DJ situations at least.
Mona - Mona's Smooth Moves voice won on Tumblr! The current voice by Sheh was close behind in terms of votes, and won by a landslide on Twitter! I think there is no bad Mona voice, as they all catch her energy, though with different age vibes in a sense.
Orbulon - Old voice won on both platforms! Though his current voice in English was no slouch in getting votes! Kinda do prefer the older voice because it felt more alien with the computer made vibe. The current one also has a filter but sounds just too plain.
Dr. Crygor - Kyle Herbert's voice won both sites! His votes were generally mixed. If you ask me which voice I prefer, it's the Japanese take. A mix of the old voice but the new personality. ...I feel like I should have opinions on which era of Crygor do I prefer, but they are different...very different.
Mike - The current English voice wins, and honestly I'm not surprised because the past voice didn't sound much different from Dr. Crygor's...unless you count the song, the English version. I don't think that voice actor sung the song, but Robbie done a good job of being sarcastic. I love the song though, cried when my old DS lite's mic died from dropping it.
Penny - The original voice of Penny won on Tumblr, while Fryda's take won on Twitter! ...I admit I prefer the old one. Love you Fryda but I don't know why she gave her a spunky voice. She thinks that Penny's voice was exactly the same with Ana's, though I feel it would've ended up more similar if she did go with something similar to the original. But I'm fine with what we got.
Dribble - New voice wins on both! It is very expressive and silly with some gruffness. The original was a lot more gruff, but I love both's vroom vroom noises. He so cute. Curiously the alternate languages were a close second on Twitter, but I never got a reason why. I hope to find out someday.
Spitz - Spitz did not speak much in the older games, so not many knowing about his scratchy mews. That explains why the current English voice won by a landslide. I admit I prefer the newer voice but the old one is adorable.
18-Volt - Most folks prefer the current English voice! I did not know he had voice clips in Twisted, but dang, Mr. Bosco perfectly nails the vibe of the older games voices! 18-Volt's voice kinda the only voice that managed to keep the same vibe throughout.
Jimmy T. - I love both English voices but the past one wins on both sites! Twitter agrees with my sentiment that both voices are nice, but I will not deny that the cool terse nature of the original voice is amazing. Not the most major personality shift, but it's there.
Ashley - Ashley's current voice is very popular, though it only won on Twitter. This girl's interesting for having two different voices in the same old game, and they have well, different vibes. Current voices are very quiet, and not energetic.
Red - I admit I hecked up on the survey on Tumblr, forgetting to make the poll last a week. But, Tyler's shrill take on Red won on both platforms! It's fine to me, cute...but the oldest voice is adorably baby, and the Japanese version is child like.
Young Cricket - Most people adore the cool, slightly still dorky current English voice of Cricket done by Daymond. But me and many others still have a soft spot for that puberty voice crack-filled first voice. I can't decide which voice is better, but they have different age feelings, kinda like Mona. ...at least I know the old voice sounds younger.
Joe - Guilty pleasure inclusion, I like Joe. There is no question that most know Joe for his current voice because that's the only time he talks extensively. But he does sing! I like to think that the Italian voice is him putting on a show, and he's just meek in person.
Kat - I didn't get much votes on Tumblr, but people do like old and new voices, there is just a mild preference Sheh's take from the audience. Kat does not sound like a kindergartner, but 9-Volt sounded like a kid. But current English voice is fine. I prefer the Japanese voice.
Ana - I don't think Ana spoke a lot in the older games besides the synchronized phrases she had with Kat...and that synchronized speaking still happens to this day. People generally have a preference to the (imo) kindergartner sounding voice from the Wolff. I could talk more in depth about this due to my hyper fixation...but that may be embarrassing.
Overall, it seems people are fairly happy with the new voices, barring a few. Granted, Gold was the WarioWare entry point for many people, so they could have a preference for what they know. Same thing goes with older games: grew up with the old voices, prefer the older voices. But I'm no expert on that and voices. Thanks for participating!

So, I am going to be honest and say that I didn't play games seriously growing up. I grew up with 3 other siblings (Two more later on but when I was a teen) and video games were deemed my eldest brothers thing. And we rarely got along so when I got to play the fun games I always saw him play, I would have to figure it out all myself. Just me and my sister (close in age so not much help) would try and figure it out. Lmao, so I am going to name games I had fun playing but most likely haven't beaten a lot of them.
I love Legend of Zelda games too !! I tried to play the Spirit tracks and a link between worlds but... well, I didn't understand them and could only play when I stole them from my brother (I was the problematic younger sibling. Don't sue me) but I had fun trying to play them ! I also love love love Wind Waker and Ocarina of Time !! I loved them so much. I think I also didn't understand Ocarina of Time but I never beat Wind Waker because kept getting scared when trying to get past the one sneaking section in the jail. The bird also scared me. But I actually picked up Wind Waker again and got far in !! (Fun fact, I still have a game cube !!) But I got distracted so still not beaten lmao. Funnier fact, when I played recently, I ended up getting stuck right after getting the grappling hook because I didn't realize the big gap which was very obviously meant to teach you to use the grappling hook, was something I was suppose to grapple hook over. Anyways, also played Majora's mask but also didn't beat it. The moon was scary. Oh, oh, and I got to play a little bit of Midnight Princess but my mom said that was too dark so she wouldn't let us actually get it. Oh, I also nearly forgot about Skyward Sword ! I am pretty sure I am the only Zelda fan to like Skyward Sword and hat Breath of the Wild (it's just not a Zelda game. Sorry)
Off the Zelda topic, I like some Mario games. I loved playing Mario Sunshine and Paper Mario (beat neither) and I wish I still had those discs. Also played some Mario Odysess but kept getting bored (And by bored, I mean that I got near the end in one day but then the mental illness won and I kept playing the car mini game for 4 hrs before getting bored)
Trying to think of more classics I played.... uhh... none...
So on to Animal Crossing, I remember playing this on so many different platforms but it all feels like a fever dream. I think I played one on the DS that had a mini town...area thing??? That my little brain loved to go to. Like idk why I thought going there was some special thing. I also played the one on the switch religiously during 2020 (I am basic okay). It was fun but my little brothers would mess up my island >:(
Ooooh, wait these count. Only the real people will remember Poptropica. i loved that game !! And I would regularly play it and beat the islands and get stuck on them. I remember playing the island for the great hunts very specifically for some reason. maybe because the part where you have to sneak around and run from the dog scared me. Oh the cryptid one too is in graved in my brain !!
More recently, I play Stardew Valley obviously (talk about it enough) but also Hollow Knight !! I actually am both cracked at this game and suck at it. I can do Hornet hitless and beat most of the pantheons but it took me months to beat the 3rd arena. Currently I am still working on doing every boss hitless and all the pantheons. I also did the 100% true ending as my first play through !! Loved it so much. Still haven't done the dreaded flower quest. Anyways, still waiting for Silksong
Oh, I also have played Undertale and Delta Rune. Undertale I played with my friend so... he lowkey carried me lmao. Oh, and we were trying to do the pacifist route and got stuck on Undyne for so long during that. I actually went nearly the whole Flowey fight without getting hit??? Was I suppose to be able to do that?? I have no idea. Never did the murder route because we got bored. Undertale I have played both chapters for. My other friend helped me. They were on call watching me play and helping me find secrets. My first play through I only fought Spamton because my friend said I shouldn't fight the other secret boss. But then I decided I wanted to get all the secrets so I went back and fought Jaster. Let me just say, Spamton was hard and I felt so happy when I beat him! So much fun ! Jester???? Jest is so fucking unfair and unforgiving. I spent days with one goal. Beat that fucker so I never had to ever play that boss fight ever again. And I did it. I beat him. Then my friend said they didn't think I could actually do it. Rude.
Finally.... (Sorry I really never get asked about video games. Usually no one likes the games I like.) I just got Cult of the Lamb and that game is fun !! I didn't beat it yet but I have had fun playing it !! I think I keep forming attachments to my cult members and it sets me back because I will only sacrifice the ones I don't talk to

So I've been thinking a lot about smash dlc characters so here's 6 characters I'd love to see in smash! The character I most wanted in was Banjo Kazooie so I'll be pretty satisfied with anything really but here are my picks

Sora: I think sora would fit so well in smash, his battle style is so unique with the keyblade being such a cool weapon that can transform into a buch of things with formchange and teleport back to the owner's hand when thrown. We also got the super badass drive forms and the hella edgy Anti-form that would be so cool to see implemented in his moveset. the only real thing I see holding this character back is that he's not owned by Square Enix being owned by Disney instead. Idk how would Disney react to that. Also a lot of Sora's summons are Disney characters, his keyblade has the mickey head thing so idk that could be troublesome to license well. Also he's more on Sony and Microsoft consoles rather than Nintendo but so was Cloud. Guys but he's so adorable 🥺 the way he says sorry when messing up cooking with Remy from ratatouille just breaks my heart.

Paper Mario: I feel Paper Mario is different enough from Mario to be his own character in smash.Paper Mario has a hammer, partners, the whole paper mechanic and that ability with the stars that appear again in Mario Party 5 for some reason... hm a lot to work with here. He's also completely silent unlike Mario! he'd be another flat character like Mr. Game n watch. Also, he just recently had a new game on the switch so that's a plus. I know it'd be another Mario franchise rep and people have been wanting Waluigi(let's be honest it's just to complete Wario and also cuz memes) but Paper Mario is way more unique and even has his own series of games. Keep the Waluigi-not-in-smash meme alive.

Ryu Hayabusa: Ok. Ninjas. Ninjas in smash. Nintendo we need ninjas in smash... and I'm not talking about pokemon ninjas(greninja) that doesn't count. I'm talking about actual human ninjas. Ryu first appeared on the NES with the Ninja Gaiden trilogy of games(which I never beat cuz it's hella hard) so he'd be kinda like a retro character like Simon. I say kinda because he got a reboot on the xbox later on which Slapsss. But the NES wasn't the only Nintendo console he was on, he was also on the NDS(this game was super fun like you hold the DS sideways it's greatt) and Wii U(he's back on the Switch NES online collection thing too) Now, he is primarily a sword user like so many other smash characters but Ryu is diversity incarnate this man can use sooo many other weapons like a staff, kusarigma, tonfas, bows, dual swords, bladed nunchuks, freaking wolverine CLAWS oh and a modafuckin SCYTHE. So idk they could implement different weapons like they did with Byleth or make the Dragon Sword be his homie his only weapon to keep it classy. To complement that got the usual ninja stuff like the shurikens, the kunais and the totally not op Ninjutsu. Also he his so graceful and fiercee have you seen his fighting style? His movements are so cool to look at. Like, Izuna drop. In smash. Ugh husbando. He's owned by koei tecmo the same guys that did the dinasty warrior games and the fire emblem and zelda warriors crossover of games. So they've been working really close to Nintendo recently. Although the last we've seen of Ninja Gaiden was back in 2014. But like Banjo Kazooie hasn't had a game since 2008 so it's not a big deal. (Edit: wow so Nintendo just announced Koei Tecmo is doing yet another Zelda Warriors game :D andd they're lending them assets from BotW which means Nintendo really trusts this company so Ryu getting in Smash as a representative of Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja is very very likely, probably the most likely of the list)

Dante: Hey we have Bayo let us have Dante. He's a cool mofo, he chill he badass. What else can I say? I love his personality ahhh (reminds me of Pale a bit) but I know he's another sword character but he has GUNS and can turn into a DEMON so I think they can make him stand out enough from the others. His fighting style is so stylish and cool yes yes. I feel Nero would be super cool with his devil breaker arms too but Dante is the face of Devil May Cry. I think dmc 3 is the only game on a Nintendo console though... But who cares get this mofo in smash please

Travis Touchdown: why do I love these personality types hmm. Now he was a wii excluse for a while and most of his games were on Nintendo platforms first so plus plus. Yet another sword character oops but I mean he has a beam sword that's hella cool plus he can turn into a red TIGER. His game is a bit.. well mature, and not only on the gory side of things but there's like a lot of sexual innuendo (he looks like he's jerking off when he's charging his sword) but hey Bayonetta had her moments as well. We got a new game coming up in 2021 mhm. Anyway I wouldn't mind if he didn't got in probably just a bonus on my list.

Okami: wow I want a lot of hack n slash human characters huh let's combo break that with Amaterasu! She's a wolf, a goddess, she's so cool definitely the most unique pick out of my choices here. like her game is so one of a kind it should be in museums across the world and they should have ppl handing out free copies just so everyone can experience this art in game form. Just image the possibilities of her moveset! She was in a fighting game before and it was amazing. We need more non-human characters in smash too. Hmm it is yet another capcom rep though(we have Megaman, Ryu and Ken and I want Dante too.) But let it happen please
So that's my list for now. If any of these characters get in I'd be sooo happy!! Let's wait and see.

Rafayel
You could hear shuffling around the room as you mindlessly scrolled through your phone. Once again, Rafayel was on a hunt for something he had lost. You felt the couch you were on lifting up gently as he searched underneath, to no avail. 
"Rafayel, what are you even looking for?" You had the courage to ask. He had been painting one minute, and the next looking around the entire studio for something. With how messy the place was, it would be a miracle if he ever found it.
"I put one of my brushes next to my easel, and now it's gone," he huffed, his eyes never stopping their search. You could see the frustrated glint in them as he seemed abnormally confused at this new development. Rafayel occasionally lost things, but usually, in his chaotic mess, he knew where things were.
"Raf, you have like a million brushes," you remind him. He had at least twenty of every single kind of brush. Sadly, knowing who Rafayel was, you could also predict his following comment.
"I don't want those ones; I want this particular brush. It's why I got it out…help me?" he finally asked, trying to get you to put the phone down.
"I don't even know what it would look like; they all look similar," you groan. He was pouting now, getting onto the couch and trapping you with his arms as he pouted. His eyes were pleading, and you couldn't help but roll your own.
"Raaaaaaf" it was more of a warning that he didn't want to listen to. You finally let up, "Maybe we should get out of the studio and clear your mind. I bet when we come back, it'll be easier to find with a fresh pair of eyes. Besides, you've been working on that painting forever," you said. It was true; he had agreed to hang out with you today but had been so engrossed in his project that he had barely said anything to you.
He looked reluctant before his shoulders sagged, "I guess we could, "he murmured, "Besides, my inspiration is gone like my brush." 
"Alright, then let's go, pretty boy," you said, gently pushing his chest to get him to sit up. Rafayel leaned back, allowing you to sit up on the couch and get off. You went to the front, satisfied that he had agreed to leave the studio for a bit. You looked at the jackets on the wall, spotted one of his cardigans, and grabbed it for yourself.
"You know that's mine, right?" Rafayel said after getting close to you. He tugged at the edge of it, and you nodded.
"I know, I just like how it feels," You knew all you had to do was give him a look, and he'd let you wear it.  Besides, one thing you learned early on with Rafayel is that he seemed to like it when you wore his clothes.
"Alright, fine, you win," he said. Let me grab your bag; hold up." He began going over to where you had placed your belongings when you came over. You suddenly froze in your place, about to open your mouth as he leaned down. He picked it up and heard a clattering on the ground as something fell.
It's like time went in slow motion as his eyes landed on a paintbrush, in fact, the very one he had been searching for. He looked at the brush, then back at your defeated face. "Did you…" he didn't even need to finish the sentence.
"Shut up," you sighed, not wanting to hear his teasing. However, the giant smile on his face was making you realize you couldn't get out of this one. You cringed inwardly at the implications of this.
"So, did you hide my brush just so I couldn't paint because you wanted to go somewhere?" He said, walking over and grabbing you by the waist so he could drag you near. His free hand waved the brush he had picked up in your face, "Very naughty," he teasingly scolded.
You looked away with a flush on your face, "I was only worried about your eyes. I don't need you going blind again." you said, using the premade excuse you had come up with months ago for when this situation happened.
He laughed as he grabbed your chin and made you look at him, "So every time I had an item missing, it was you trying to get my attention?" the giant blush on your cheeks was enough of a tell to let him know he was spot on.
"Shut uuuuuup," you whined, almost like a little brat, and he tsked, dragging you in for a quick kiss. Your eyes widened for a moment, and he was pulling away from your mouth before you knew it.
"You're adorable," he finally sighed, "But next time, just let me know you want to do something else, okay?" he said, "I can make time for you,"
"You didn't make it earlier…" you muttered, your eyes glancing off to the side.
"You didn't say anything. I told you I wanted to finish up, and you just said that was fine," he shrugged. If it wasn't, you should've spoken up." Okay…he had a point.
"...shut up…"
"Make me," and with that, you were the one surging forward to kiss him.

Is it bad of me to wonder if Boost gameplay just isn't worth it for SEGA to attempt anymore because the "best" one of them is still literally, from its conception at that, 50% non-boost? Even Super Mario Sunshine, rushed as it was, still had the same controls for most of the game (Shadow Mario's worlds being what, 1/7 of each level?), and a lot of the more infamous levels still are "FLUDD being used in a horrible way" so it's not like you can say they didn't stick to a central gameplay theme.
What game are you actually talking about, though? I’m going to assume it’s Sonic Colors, since that’s the only game you’ve mentioned that fits the bill of what you describe.
Maybe you saw this ask, but I do not consider Sonic Colors to be “the best one” by any stretch. Like it’s a fine game, I guess. I don’t hate it. It has some of the best visuals on the Wii, it has very nice music, and it plays well enough...
But I also think it misunderstands a lot of things. It’s far too controlling. Like, by Sega’s own admission, Sonic Colors was them trying to make a Sonic game to appeal to Mario fans. So that’s where you get things like the wisp powers, because those are blatantly and intentionally trying to mimic the suits you get in Mario.
Except that in Mario, you get tools. You pick up a fireflower, and you have this great multi-contextual ability that applies to a wide range of scenarios. The same goes for the raccoon suit, cat mario, whatever. They are intended to be general gameplay modifications.
The wisps in Sonic Colors are all designed to be used in one extremely specific scenario and they are almost totally useless outside of that. Laser is made to be reflected off of prisms, hover is made to follow trails of rings, drill literally only works in areas marked to be drillable. You can kind of coax and massage alternate uses out of some of those, like laser can be good for blasting through a big group of enemies or to gain a little extra height, but in general the gameplay flow goes:
They give you a wisp power in one room
In the next room is the puzzle that uses that wisp power
Either you succeed or fail at the puzzle and the wisp is gone now
And the same goes for boost. You are only meant to boost in extremely small scenarios where they give you boost to use. They only ever give you just enough boost for that one section, and when that boosting section is over, chances are you are either empty or close to empty on your boost meter.
Sonic Colors is a game that when it tells you to jump, it expects you to ask “how high?” You play it exactly the way they demand, or you play something else.
And these are problems that only got worse once you start talking about, like, Sonic Lost World and Sonic Forces. They only got more and more and more rigid. This is actually something I spend time talking about in the upcoming Sonic Forces video I’ve been promising for years.
I’ve also talked about this with other people recently, but I think generally the reason people are tired of boost or don’t think boost works anymore is simply because Sega is bad at utilizing it well. There are games out there with what I would call “Sonic Vibes” that I think show what Sega could be doing with Sonic, but aren’t.
Like, Mario Kart, right. Mario Kart is stellar at introducing platformer elements in to what is ostensibly a racing game. I think recently on this very blog I mentioned Airship Fortress from Mario Kart DS as an example of this, where you’re dodging bullet bills in the opening of the course. You’re also dodging Monty Moles, fire criss-crosses the track at certain points, there’s big jumps to cross huge gaps... this game came out years and years and years before the first 3D Boost Sonic game and Sega never took any lessons from it. Ever. No Boost Sonic game has ever had levels this dynamic.
Or what about games like Rollcage, GRIP, or Distance? Distance especially, since it gives you easy access to a jump button and expects you to flip and spin around tracks to land on sections of road that might be above or beside you.
Like, it’s no surprise someone would get bored of Boost Sonic games when Sega only ever uses them in a super narrow, restrictive sort of way. They’ve had like, four ideas total for those games, and they’ve squeezed three or four games out of just repeating the same things over and over and over. There’s a whole range of possibilities and they abjectly refuse to explore them.

hi. this is a personal post about the whole dr//am situation. skip this, i just need to let some things out but i'm way too scared to speak directly to any living human being.
where the fuck do i even begin. i am... beyond disgusted, not only with :) but his friends and entire fanbase. :) has managed to create such a concrete parasocial platform where everyone loves him, to a point where his fanbase will actively ignore actual victims of a fucking crime. people have been actively defending that motherfucker for doing horrible shit. horrible shit. i didn't even know half the story til recently because everything is always being swept under the fucking rug, just like this case. seriously, some of them are so fucking quick to defend him from anything. his friends wont speak up on it either. there's going to be a series of lore streams now, y'know, just as #dropdr//am is trending on twitter. casually.
these ccs don't fucking care about us, any of us, and i hate how attached to this fucking hell hole i am. (this is where it gets a bit more personal.) i've never had a personal attachment to :) in any way. but i do have extremely strong attachments to many os his friends, friends who aren't speaking up about his disgusting actions and continue to interact with him and give him a platform.
the ds/mp was genuinely what helped me live through 2021. i was in a horrible state of mind and these ccs with their stupid little minecraft story brought me enough joy to keep going. letting go is so much harder than i ever imagined it would be, but this is the last fucking straw.
it's happened again and again. :) does something disgusting, people call him out for it, he ignores/denies it, his fanbase comes up to defend him, it gets swept under the rug, :) gets to keep his platform.
i'm sorry for this rant. it just hurts a lot. people should be able to enjoy things without worrying if the creators are horrible people. it's hard to even enjoy minecraft itself anymore.
i hope everyone else is doing ok. i'm definitely not, but it will pass. it's just a matter of time.
