What size are you in dresses? And what is your favourite sort of look on a woman? Like style icons etc.

Depends on the fit but generally a US 6-8.

I don’t necessarily have one look that I like best, there’s well dressed people from every era and a bunch of different ways to be well dressed now. I personally dressed very 1950s academia in uni, I’m a bit more l&l nowadays, adding in more pattern and color now (current inspiration tag is here).

I believe that style has a lot to do with consistency, not necessarily looking the same every day but always looking like yourself, working within one consistent set of looks. I like people with consistent aesthetics more than constantly shifting peacocks — everything Grace Kelly wore looked like her, whereas you see some ‘influencers’ on Instagram who look like completely different people from day to day.

I also like people who look like they put thought into their looks — I’m over ‘effortless’ as an aesthetic, effortless is code for ‘skinny so everything looks good on me.’ I think Fong Min Liao on Instagram is a great example of a wardrobe that gels really well — every piece clearly looks like her and her looks are always thoughtfully constructed.

So for me, style isn’t necessarily about which look you go for as much as choosing a look, staying consistent within it, and building a flexible wardrobe within that aesthetic (one exception: jeans and t shirts is not an aesthetic and people need to stop treating it like the height of fashion).
