the master and margarita book that made me open thirty thousand wikipedia articles about christian scripture and had a cat with a gun and was one of the best commentaries on art i've ever read so what more can i ask for really

#girl the only reason i figured out pilate wasn't an original character was because jesus walked in the room 🥴👍#the religious aspect of it flew over my head no shame in admitting i had no clue what was happening in the yershalaim chapters #like i understood the connection w/ state atheism but how it related to the idea of cowardice was ??????? help #+ im well versed on russian culture and this book had so many references to things i had no idea about hfffjs im a fake child of immigrants #also the context that bugalkov wrote a letter to stalin pleading to be allowed to immigrate b/c his satirical plays were getting censored??#that he didn't see his family since the revolution and that stalin himself gave him a job at a theatre and refused b/c he liked his plays??#aough. to see the book replicate that was so.
