Live Action

I was talking to Om earlier and we were discussing tracking the posters into a live action environment, which is actually something that I’ve been considering for a while now. My plan is to go home via St Davids and film the posters they have there - there’s both a landscape and a portrait one in there - and then track my posters on

Since it’s just corner-pin tracking it should be relatively simple, and it might just be fun to see how they’re look in a real environment! Again, I’ve got more time left that I was anticipating, so this is just an extra thing that I might do!

Portrait Posters

Since I think I’m going to be finished with the posters sooner than I though, possibly tonight, I’m thinking about also turning them into portrait motion posters as well. They’d be shorter, just when they’re both in the centre of the frame - so around 200/300 frames rather than 500+, I just think it might be interesting to be able to have both portrait and landscape posters.

I know my original plan was to have three motion posters, but even though I have spare time, there’s not enough to get Eli’s done as well. I’m definitely going to be working on that one over the summer though, and maybe film something for Serena at some point just because I’d love to make the whole set and it’ll be good to have something to practice on whilst I’m away from uni

Matte Painting: Victor Vale

I think this is going to be my final version of the matte panting for Victor - I wanted to make the whole thing look as if the building is completely enclosed, but I wanted to include the beams on the roof. The ceilings where only the metal supports are showing all looked really great in person, and they were one of the things that I really wanted to incorporate into the piece.

I also think that by having the sky visible is helps to tie this poster in with Sydneys - they’re two completely different locations, but both of them have the greenery and the sky to kind of link them together, as well as the same night setting.

I think I figured it out?? I put the new key below the original one, and set the lifetime range to end when the original one starts - legsLeftLow2 goes from 0 - 80 and legsLeftLow starts at 81 and ends at 361!

It seems to be working for now, but I don’t really know if it’s actually working? I’m going to keep going and get the whole left side done and see if it’s still working then
