what: volunteering at the animal shelter when: july 19, 2021 with: you if you’d like
out of the three volunteering days they had set up for the next few months the only one aidynn planned on attending was the one at the animal shelter. honestly he wasn’t the biggest fan of old people, and there was more than one occasion where they weren’t a fan of him either from when he was younger, and visiting the orphanage really wasn’t something he felt like attending. though he wouldn’t admit that it maybe hit a little too close to home for his comfort. though, animals were right up his alley.
he’d found his way into the cat room, which he was sure his own two cats at home might not be the most appreciative of but they’d be fine. it was probably amusing to watch someone so big sitting with all the small cats surrounding him, maybe even climbing him, or being held. his attention had primarily been on a pretty calico for a few minutes until someone else was coming to sit down, catching the cat’s attention. “traitor,” he joked as the cat moved towards the new person. his joking tone continued as he looked up at the new person, “rude, me and the cat were bonding and you had to steal the attention.”
#things here won't wither | threads.#fmdopen#fmdbceq321#two in one night look at me go#feel free to assume connections once more#also yes both opens were about animal shelters but this one hates old people and would struggle with the orphanage#also playful aidynn pops out once in a while

@fmdminjung:
it was another solo single that he was promoting. truth be told, it feels like he had just released candy. however, that was already months ago, which still felt a little odd that it was so long ago. this time, however, duri wasn’t going to be getting on stage to dance, like he did for his two previous releases. instead, he returned back to his comfortable genre, the one that he had become known for early on in his solo career. which he was perfectly fine with, since ballads were one of his favorites to create, and he always had a really good time with them. he just hoped that other’s managed to like the song, goodbye, just as much as he was proud of the single.
it had been only a few days since he started promoting the song. he seemingly stayed a bit to himself, rather than doing his usual go around - just so he could get back into the swings of promoting once again. but, today, he decided to walk around, instead of staying inside of his waiting room, or somewhere backstage, awaiting for his cue to go up on stage. so, he got up, exiting his waiting room.
he knew a friend was promoting at the same time, so he decided to take a visit. he made his way around the dressing rooms, being sure to read each door to see who was in which room. once he came across minjung’s, he sent a knock to the door. “minjung! it’s duri!” he said through the door, before he’s giggling happily, and stepping back.

starter for @durifmd / volunteering
volunteering isn’t a punishment sentence, nor does it relay the sentiment that bc holds something higher, more controlling on top of his head. instead, what it becomes is another mandatory-not-so-mandatory event where he’s standing around a crowd of elderly people, an apron tied around his frame and his cheery smiles greeting each passerby around.
it’s no surprise by the time he spots duri, taejin’s face fills with a silent hello in the form of a smirk, and a head nod ode before marching over.
“i guess we can’t refer to ourselves as the oldest in the room anymore.” taejin cracks a dry joke, pulls a chuckle from his throat as he dips his chin to another elder woman passing by. “are you having fun volunteering?” by his own accord, it’s obvious: the first slow start to volunteering now blooming into acceptance, enjoyment as the time diminishes closer to the end of the day.
his hand rests in his pocket, a yawn escaping by the time fatigue wrestles with his body, muffled by the cup his palm. “this is my third volunteering event this quarter, and i must say — it’s probably the most enjoyable despite being one of the more tiring physical tasks.”

starter for @fmdhyeju / bc x-ray concert
bc can kiss his ass.
right then and there when the camera’s come like a collection of relays, one after another — catching every damn breath and his narrowed glances from the side-eyes he shoots straight towards them.
it’s an underlying decree: give me some fucking privacy. but when has bc ever cared about that when they’re too busy prancing around family imagery?
so, by the time he makes his break into the hallways, straight out the door, he’s caught again in another haphazard trap. lured in, no way out when he’s face to face with another reflection of a lens, smiling straight through with another familiar body next to him. “hello, my sibling hyeju.” gyujeong greets, voice so sarcastic it could split the frame right then and there. whether she catches it or not, it’s up to her — but he bets she picks up right on the spot.
“how happy and fortunate are we to be here at the same place behind the bc concert — isn’t it just so great we’re doing a family concert?” the sarcasm continues, and he averts his gaze to the cameras — heavy eyelids, an even heavier drawl of his voice. one smile that bleeds the ‘fuck you bc’ mantra from the start of its tone.

for @fmdyuanjun / #fmdbceq321
the stupid unit song he’s in for their upcoming album is stuck in his head. -- to be fair, he likes the song. he likes the lyrics on it. y’know, mostly the ones he wrote, but, like, whatever. that’s not really the issue. the issue is that his head has somehow blended it together with fallin’ flower, factually charm’s worst song, so now he’s cranky thanks to that. don’t even bring up the sweat pouring out of him after all those rally calls for the whole group version of just do it. his thoughts pause for a moment. huh. a full group version. that sub-unit really was a short lived experiment.
whatever.
quick changes and freshening up happen in a breeze, and before he knows it, he’s out on stage again, stressors mostly forgotten for the next micro-set of songs within their setlist. sometimes he feels high at and after concerts -- other times, it’s like his energy levels just crash. it’s one of those nights, where he’s tired from the extra flying to go back to korea for a festival yesterday. he makes a beeline for the room that the staff stuck the performance unit with for changing, and strips, changes into fresh underwear, and flops onto the couch. he’s gross still, but he’ll shower when he gets back to the hotel. he takes a second to catch his breath, and then lethargically drags his sweater and shorts onto his body. his head is still forcing its way out of the sweater’s neck when he hears the door open.
“who’s it?” he grumbles, though he knows there’s only a handful of people it could be. aaand ... his vision is clear again as he emerges out of the sweater, and yuanjun comes into view. “hey, you.” he barks, brow furrowed. his mood is threatening to burst. it’s nothing to do with yuanjun in particular but ... “dude. where the hell’s your head at?” -- isn’t that what he should be asking himself?
#fmdyuanjun#( * interactions )#fmdbceq321#didn't wanna assume too much or anything so lmk if you want anything changed!! and we can fast forward to dowoon feeling bad like a week#later too LMFAO ly

INT. UNDISCLOSED MUSIC VIDEO SET ● EARLY MORNING. * ♡ MICHELLE FILMS ❝ ONE&ONLY ❞ MV → JULY 20, 2021.
It’s still baffling to her that in only a few years’ time, she’s gone from waitress to nursing student to now K-pop idol, and despite it all, she’s managed to adjust as quickly as possible to her ever-evolving career; not at all thinking that being a public figure was in the cards for her. Firstly, she had no desire to be famous or an entertainer. In her mind, she imagined her future being typical—finding someone to settle down with, going from paycheck-to-paycheck in order to pay their bills and support their lifestyles ( in the outrageously expensive southern California area, mind you ), and being happy with the simplicities that life has to offer. Secondly, she and her mother had long since discussed the nursing program at SNU as it seemed like it would provide them with the most promising financial stability upon graduation, but now, the two of them harbor tense feelings toward each other due to Michelle’s reckless, last-minute decision to take a risk and join BC Entertainment’s idol trainee division—one that may or may not promise her heaps of riches after her debt is paid off post-debut. Lastly, it seems as though her full-time home has changed from the beaches of Valley Glen and Los Angeles to the metropolitan area of Seoul—and honestly, that’s the only change that she’s having difficulty adapting to.
Back home, she would spend long evenings hanging out with friends; smoking so much weed, drinking poorly-mixed drinks until their cheeks were rosy, and overall, letting the night take them wherever it felt like. There was a comforting sense of spontaneity forever present in her life, but now, all that’s been replaced with back-to-back training schedules, and now, preparations for a debut that she’s not once dreamed of having. That thought alone troubles her, mostly because she can’t help but feel like she accidentally fell into this world, betrayed people who’ve worked hard for their dreams, and in essence, took a place that may have been rightfully theirs. She’s aware that she didn’t make the decision to be placed in Chroma herself, but that doesn’t help the small guilt she feels about her stance, and these uncomfortable wonderings are plaguing her worse today as she’s on-set of the music video for her solo single. She just hopes that the director and other crew members aren’t picking up on her incredibly distracted mindset. Never wanting to appear rude or cold, she tries her best to push her way through each take; annoyed ( slightly ) at the amount of times they have to cut in order to fix her hair and makeup, and adjust the cameras and lighting. When it’s time to change locations and costumes, she sighs; relieved.
Ushered into the small changing area designated to her, she sits before her vanity and readies herself for the beauty department to work their magic—freshening up her skin, placing her hair where it’s needed to be, and ensuring that her outfit doesn’t look one bit wrinkled or disheveled. Throughout it all, she gazes upon her reflection; finding it unbelievable that she has a dedicated team assisting her when she used to just sloppily smear on cosmetics every morning before she left for work. It’s then when reality hits her and she starts to freak out a little internally, but uses all of her strength to keep herself composed in front of everyone—faking smiles, forcing laughs, and asking for a moment alone before the shoot continues. Thankfully, everyone seemed fine with her request and allowed her five minutes of quiet. She told them she needs to get “in the zone” for the scenes to come, but the truth is, she needs space in order to slow herself down—her wildly volatile emotions surging intensely all of the sudden. She knows that it’s likely due to the lack of sleep, the anticipation for what’s to come, but being on-set has made everything feel all the more real to her—and she feels as though there’s no way to escape if she wanted to. Feelings of permanence have never sat well with her. It’s unfortunate, but true.
Placing her hands on the vanity before her, she rises up from her seated position and continues to study herself in the looking glass; reminding herself to take a few deep breaths... just like her coach taught her way back when. When she felt more centered and less shaky, Michelle started to give herself a pep talk. “You’ve got this... you were chosen for a reason...” She self-soothes, still doing her best to keep her heart rate steady and soft. “Maybe you don’t know what you’re doing yet, but you’re here and you’re figuring it out... and you’re apparently doing a good job.” In moments like these, she’s learned how to be her own therapist. What’s said is that she has a hard time taking her own advice. Before she realizes it, one of the production assistant’s knocks on the door before entering; waving her over to let her know that it’s time to proceed. Nodding, she follows; doing her best to mentally repeat the words she just spoke over and over again.
Hopefully it’s enough to get her through the day... or better yet, enough to get her through the whole promotional period once the song is released. She doesn’t think that’ll happen, though.

hyeju likes to think that every lipgloss song that was ever released should never be performed ever again. there’s still this one clip of the girls performing catallena that goes viral on twitter every once in a while where they’re shouting ridiculously, and if hyeju was offered a chance to delete a part of her career with no consequences, she thinks she’d choose that. not that she’s really embarrassed about it because she did make the decision on her own that she’d go along with the HA-ing of catallena but only because it’s simply painful to look at.
which is why when she gets the setlist for the bc anniversary concert and sees that she’s stuck performing that dreadful song, the first thing that comes to mind is how legal it is to run away from a contract. once she realizes that it’s not really an option, she goes to her second thought which is whine to minah. truthfully, the older female probably deals with way too much when it comes to hyeju, but she’s also very accepting of every complaint she has which is why hyeju ends up attached to her hip, latching onto the girl’s arm during practice.
“why does catallena even exist in our discography? it should be burned to the ground.”
@fmdminah, practice for bc anniversary concert

setting: ulsan music festival backstage, 26 july 2021 with: @fmdkiana
minah had seen countless of these festivals during her career, lipstick a big name usually during festival season and this summer was no different from that. so there wasn’t much reason to be overly excited, it was by no means an exceptional experience yet there was a certain excited bounce to minah’s step that day as she was quick to make her across the backstage area, making a beeline for fuse’s dressing room to find kiana.
letting herself in with a gentle knock, her eyes fell on her friend whom she had been looking for, an excited sparkle in her gaze. “hey, ki, want a preview of something you’re not supposed to hear just yet?” she asked, a mischevious giddiness to her tone that minah’s words hardly ever held. “the producer finally sent me finished versions of the songs of my next album, want to give them a listen.” that same morning, minah had been sternly warned by her manager that absolute secrecy was required until the album would be released but for once, she had decided to throw caution into the wind. this was her album, boasting siginificant creative credit across the entire setlist and truly all minah wanted was to share that excitement with her close friends. “the songs came out really well, if i say so myself, i’m just... really happy with it and i want you to hear it too.”

Hallyu Dream Concert in Gyeongju ➙ September 26th, 2021 ➙ @alicefmd
Even though he had stood backstage after a performance more times than he could actually fathom by that point, Daisuke still couldn’t help but feel awkward as hell while he was waiting around backstage, watching as numerous members of staff and other idols bustled around - some idols coming from off stage, some idols getting ready to get on, and those staff members trying to make sure everything ran smoothly and safely. And while he usually would’ve stuck out with a sore thumb, even from his position pressed against the wall behind him, he couldn’t make himself completely invisible, as much as he wanted to.
He took a step to the side when one of the staff members motioned for him to move, them having to get into the room of the wall behind him. Unfortunately for him, his side step had ended with him bumping into a much smaller figure. He stumbled slightly before righting himself and his posture, giving the person he had just ran into an apologetic smile. “Sorry, I didn’t see you there.” Which was an honest mistake on his part. He hadn’t actually seen Alice there due to their differences in height. “You guys just finished performing, right? I liked your set. Summer Rain and Love Whisper are some of my favorite girl group releases this year.”

@fmdyuzu:
duri had been rather excited about his new solo single. he was back to doing ballads, a genre that he became known for early on in his own solo career, before he did the mini album, chocolate, and the solo single, candy. he wrote and composed the song, which he always liked to be able to do because they’re two things that he really enjoys doing. others seemed to really like the song too, which make him feel a lot more proud of the work that he put out. ballads was probably one genre that he really, truly, belonged in, it seemed.
he’s standing backstage, off in his own world. he was awaiting for the cue to go on stage, as one does. there was a lot happening around him, so he had watched the monitors and really just vibed to himself. he was sure that he would be called to be on stage soon, and for now, it was just a game of waiting. it was something he got used to, especially with being alone now with how often bc entertainment would send him off on his own.
however, this was something that didn’t last that long, because before he knew it, a friend would appear in front of him. he giggled softly, turning to yuzu, who was the mc for music bank. “hi!” he greets happily. “have you been having fun being the mc? ah, being the music bank mc is a lot of fun,” he said, reminiscing on when he was a music bank mc for a year.

schedule self para / bc xray concert
summary: taejin’s a really good liar — has the cameras in his face to prove how happy he’s there. it’s a work of art. warnings: none wc: 432
his t-shirt’s tucked seamlessly into his pants, no wrinkles nor visible alterations shown. hair’s already parted, two by eight thanks to the thickening hairspray he’s inhaled at the hands of getting ready. even when it’s backstage, bc family concerts hold the underlying notion: beware, cameras are ready to catch you at any time.
if this were any other concert, he’d assume bc to be smack-dab in the middle. wedged between the up and coming risers and current big names — after all, a has been and this is what decipher’s managed for the recent years. yet, bc concerts mean cementing the concept of hierarchy and family ties — loyalty praised above the money drawn in. it’s why when he’s slipping off the shirt and into the stage outfit prepare, he’s already rehearsing the lines inside his head for the ment.
but mid-way through his leader-esque speech, the cameras roll right on catching him in between the brushes floating past the tip of his nose and onto his cheeks. “oh hello there.” he greets before the yawn that slides out catches itself by his palm. “this is behind the scenes of decipher getting ready for our stage — if i’m not mistaken, it might be lipstick on stage or knight just starting.” he flashes that toothy grin reserved for bc vlogs, the kind that entrances a warmth akin to a father, a big brother. the boy next door. because in situational times, he has to do as he always has — now, a title to narrow down the walls of any change.
“decipher’s going to put up a good show today, so please look forward — i’m already itching to get on stage.” kim taejin’s a great liar. lies right through his teeth, tone promising and vivid as if any splotch of gray would force the public to think otherwise. he’s got this all down to a perfect form, knows how to intonate where’s needed when the only scratch along his mind’s one that says: take the cameras to the rest of the members, please.
he doesn’t get off the hook so easily.
least when the camera’s still on his face during the hour of another powder session, his hair stylist fixing up the little loose frayed strands of hair.
“it’s been a while for the bc concerts, and i suppose that’s why i’m so nervous this time around. but it’s nice to have all the bc idols in one place performing again — really carries the essence of what it means to be one big happy family.”
scratch that, kim taejin’s an impeccable liar.

starter for @fmdxmax backstage of hallyu dream concert
this month reaps in the bullshits of highs and lows. one day spawns a happier exploration into forgetting about the past skeleton lingering in his shadows, and the next hones in on the damn reminder that it’s an empty silhouette, hollowed out with no ability to salvage any of the traces left.
a concert leaves him to quite literally, twirl his thumbs together, toss a second look at the staff passing by before his gaze hits back down to his shoes — the tips of his shoes tapping absentmindedly before his gaze takes another peek of curiosity into the sea of people. one quick glance, and it’s the same has-been idols, the rising-stars, one or two of his own damn group members, and a shit out of luck attitude leaving him empty-headed when it’s nobody he thinks is worth talking to.
it’s only when he bothers to back to the knight dressing room when the flash of someone he recognizes causes a step closer in the direction. “max — you good?” a forgo of greetings and the rudimentary shit when the filler conversation deems itself useless in a friendship like this. “this concert is bullshit, but luckily, i ran into you. you’d think with all these damn people, i’d see someone i knew — but no, it’s all just strangers in the form of staff.”

volunteering at an animal shelter - july 19
when the first volunteering opportunity was announced, sehoon wanted to sign up right then and there. after all, who wouldn't want to volunteer at an animal shelter? being a huge animal lover that he is and a self appointed furbaby uncle who absolutely love to spoil every charm members' pets, it would have been a lot weirder if he didn't sign up. besides, even after all these years, he still doesn't trust himself to be responsible enough to actually care for a pet, so volunteering at a shelter was the next best thing he can do.
with how busy they'll be for the next few weeks, spending a day to play and care for the cute animals will be a good way to replenish some energy. god knows he's going to need it, among other things. it was a day after their dome tour concert in japan. he’s probably still going to be so out of it but if there’s a will, there’s a way, right? he should be fine - and he was right.
it’s always love at first sight with animals no matter where he is, so it only took him a solid few seconds of eye contact with them and he’s reduced into a puddle of goo. it was regrettable that he only had two hands or he could have given more (if not all) of them some well deserved belly rubs. it was always easy to fall in love with the bunch of them, even those who took a while to warm up to him. probably the hardest part in this type of volunteering for him is that he almost immediately gets attached, and who wouldn’t be when you see their happy tails wagging as they stare at you with their expectant eyes. the mere thought of leaving them at the shelter at the end of the day is heartbreaking.
sehoon ends up taking lots of photos and videos with the cute furballs. from the silliest one he could find to the most behaved ones. the phrase time flies when you’re having fun rings true for him, and before he knows it it was time for him to leave - something easier said than done, especially when a few of them ended up tailing after him a few times. he makes it a point to make this some sort of routine, and maybe takes this chance to encourage more people to adopt. every single one of those cuties deserve a loving home, after all. those photos and videos he took will definitely come in handy.

INT. UNDISCLOSED MUSIC SHOW SET ● EARLY MORNING. * ♡ MICHELLE PERFORMS ❝ ONE&ONLY ❞ → AUG 2021.
Throughout her career thus far, Michelle’s had to wear multiple hats—all of which she’s never, ever bothered to try on before. Whether it’s singing, dancing, or even acting, she’s been thrown into the lion’s den and is expected to perform well. Sure, being given direction makes things easier to handle—that, plus all of the editing that’s done to make her appear better than she is—but that doesn’t mean she truly believes she’s good at any of it. If she can please the team of creative management, then that means she’s doing her job, and that’s all that matters to her at the moment. Over the better part of the last year, she’s been anticipating her schedule to fill up with more activities, and as of July, her agenda is steadily becoming more erratic. In August, though, things bubble up to a boiling point. Not only is she on-set filming the second season of Chroma’s début drama, but she’s also promoting her solo track. Being in front of crowds isn’t a foreign idea to her as she has lots of experience being judged, criticized, and watched by plenty due to her past in figure skating, but this is a totally different approach to performance than she realizes. She felt confident on the ice, but now that she’s no longer gracefully gliding about and jumping into double axels, she’s pretty terrified of how she’ll be received by the public at large.
What if they’re quick to pick up on the fact that she’s not the best singer? While she feels most comfortable ( heavily ) relying on the backing track for added support, she’s aware that, at some point, she’ll be asked to sing live... and what then? Michelle’s sure she’ll astonish people, but she’s not convinced she’ll do so in anyway that’s deemed positive. All she can do is prepare herself for when that moment comes, but thankfully, her début stage is pre-recorded... which brings an overwhelming sense of ease to swathe her. If all she has to do is focus on dancing, as well as her facial expressions, she can potentially pull off a charming display of her “talents.” After all, she’s been told ( in fairly blatant terms ) to focus more on performance and visuals as opposed to flawless arrays of musicality, so if she heeds BCE’s advice, maybe she’ll have nothing to worry about? It’s not as if they have her learning choreography that’s far outside of what she’s capable of, so if she can remember everything as instructed, she’ll be fine.
That’s what she tells self-soothes herself with, at least.
—
Before she knows it, she’s standing centerstage—the harsh, incandescent lighting from above stunningly illuminating her petite stature. Her ash-blonde locks glow in the warmth, her pearly white “soft-lolita” style dress beams bright, and as she hears the first beat, she snaps into a zone she hasn’t gone into in quite sometime now. In truth, the performance aspect of skating was something she adored more than she thought she would, so she channels the same “fire” she’d create whenever she powerfully used every square inch of the ice to impress the crowd. Hopefully it has a similar effect now. Turns out, there’s a lot to remember during stages like this, but she navigates through each motion as rehearsed—focusing mostly on the meaning of the track and trying to convey it through movements. Emotion is equally as important as precision, and Michelle thinks putting an emphasis on that will really sell what she’s trying to accomplish.
When all is said and done, she somehow expects to see numbers present on a scoreboard to inform her of how she did, but alas, that doesn’t happen. Instead, she lets the cheers take its place—her audience responding seemingly well to her presentation. What she’s scared of the most, though, is how netizens are going to react once everything’s uploaded to the internet. It’s them that have no fear or remorse in tearing a person apart without ever meeting them. So, as she rides the high of her adrenaline rush, a lot of it settles into her stomach and causes flashes of anxiety. Now, she can’t help but wonder if all of these volatile emotions are worth the effort, but even if she decides they’re not, there’s not much she can do about it now.
Michelle just hopes she did a passable job. Not perfect or outstanding. Just passable.

planes, to an extent, provided dowoon with an opportunity to relax. for the next little while, he knew there was nothing he had to do -- no stupid dome tour, no stupid festival appearances, no stupid anything. sure, he’d rather be at home, lying flat on his back, wang snorting as he snuggled up next to him, but at least he could pass out on a plane. usually. tonight, his body was still buzzing from a job well done at their performance at ulsan music festival just a couple of hours ago. he’d be lucky if he got a wink of sleep before they pop out on stage for their next concert stop in ... tokyo. yeah, they’re en route to tokyo.
he rolled his neck around, movement limited by the neck pillow propping up his chin, and rested his head against jihoon’s, lips pouting and cheeks puffed up.
“dude, are you awake?” dowoon muttered, nudging jihoon not so gently. “i can’t sleep and my switch is dead.” even dowoon could hear the childishness in his own voice. he leaned back, pulling away from his fellow leader, trilling his lips as he sighed. “... ugh, ignore me. i’m gonna try to pass the fuck out.” dowoon pulled his legs up, wrapping his arms around his knees. no, he wasn’t going to try to pass out -- he was just going to stop being annoying, for the time being. once they landed in japan, the adrenaline would hit, and he’d be fine all over again.

what: volunteering at an animal shelter when: july 19, 2021 wc: 435
it took absolutely no convincing from any member of the bc entertainment staff nor their own manager or knight managers to get maverick on board for the first volunteering opportunity of the quarter: the animal shelter. honestly if their were idols, and of course there would be some, that didn’t show up for the chance to spend time with precious animals, mav thought they were out of their minds.
despite having their own small army of dogs and a recently added cat, they could never get enough of having animals around them. ever since they were little maverick had fallen in love with animals through seeing them at friend’s houses or classroom pets seeing as they never had any of their own at home. their parents thought pets were unnecessary and only made messes so childhood pets were something they had only longed for one day.
one of the hardest parts with being in the shelter was honestly that fact that maverick knew they couldn’t get too attached to any one animal because taking home another pet wasn’t an option. that would be much easier said then done of course. duri and them had six pets at home already, which was already a lot for any one but let alone traveling idols, and they had decided that after tteokbokki was added to their family that they were done for the time being and were more than happy with finn, kangaroo, angel, peanut butter, moose, and tteokbooki. they were their wonderful fur babies after all.
the difficulty to not want to take all the sweet animals home hit them from the start while they were feeding the older cats, putting a scoop of food in their food bowls and making sure they had water. with each bowl they visited maverick made sure to take some time to stop and love on the cats that approached them, running their hand down their backs or giving scratches under their chins or behind their ears until they heard the sound of purring. it always brought a big smile to their face before they would move on.
as the day went on and they went around the shelter, completing a variety of tasks, there was more than once that they had been tempted to take a picture of an animal to send to their boyfriend and try to convince him that one or two more babies wouldn’t hurt, but they refrained, knowing that they would both struggle to say no at that point. so they settled, finding spots on the floor to spend time loving the animals for now instead.
