Why does Aerial bash so well with other kits? Like I’ve seen a bunch of 00 kitbashes, even a zaku kitbash. Just seems to mesh with a lot

FM 1/100 GUNDAM Aerial

Man, Bandai had a really strong Gunpla line-up for S1 that absolutely dried up for S2 and beyond. I know G-Witch was a risk but it really does feel like Bandai was ready for it to fail and immediately move on to more traditional Gundam offerings as soon as it ended, and got caught flat footed at how popular it ended up being.

I just think it's wild that we still haven't seen Permet score variants for Aerial Rebuild. We still haven't seen the S2 upgrades for Darilbalde/Pharact/Michaelis. And we still haven't seen FM kits for either the Rebuild or Calibarn.

I think if Bandai had more faith in the show and properly prepared for it like S1, we would have at least gotten a FM Rebuild and P-Bandai announcements for Score 6 Rebuild and the S2 upgrades by now. Instead all we got immediately post-series was the Demi-Garrison and normal uniform Suletta.

I was hoping it's popularity would mean that we would get gunpla of the "other" category of suits sooner rather than later, like the Desultor and Prodoros, but for now it feels like they've moved on from G-Witch to focus on fully advertising the SEED move instead and it has me feeling frustrated.

Really great base to go with the [FM] Aerial Gundam! I decided to go with a pose that suggests the bits returning home, tho i really need to finish building the rest of them (and decals x-x)

The display base pieces for the shoulder and small skirt parts would be really great for doing the ring display so hit me up if you have them or want to sell a wfm display base

This year I discovered Gundam and with that I found a new hobby to love.

This post has everything I built on 2023. For the new year, I already have some kits waiting for me. And new things to learn! The led kit for the Aerial FM and I may try to learn a little bit of weathering.

Gundam Aerial: Gundam Next Future Edition

it's aerial! aerial's one of my favorite kits. if you count the FM 1/100 version, this is my 4th model of her. I really like aerial.

she has some teal decal stickers that i chose to omit because decals are a pain to put on and sometimes don't play nice on color.

i also chose to paint the eyes instead of using the included stickers, and boy howdy am i glad i did. it's hard to get a good picture of them, but they look so fucking good. likewise, i painted the vulcans silver because i think it adds a nice touch.

pros and cons of this kit

+its aerial, so everything about the normal aerial build applies. +despite being black and recycled plastic, this didnt mark up badly at all, which i seem to find is normally an issue. the pharact was really bad about this +teal is a fantastic accent color

+- because its an extremely solid black, panel lining isnt really a thing? i lined the teal with blue, but the black i left alone. this can be either a pro or a con, ie: you cant panel line it... so you don't have to.

-does not have the fancy premolded chest piece that regular aerial does, only the stickers. -pbandai exclusive

finished half of the FM 1/100 gundam aerial today. my interest in g-witch is less than zero, but the big robot is very cool

see you when i've finished it, i'm going to start putting the waterslides on the 1/100 Zeta ver. Ka soon too, and finish the shield/weapons
