Orange Festival of Adventure and Music, Dambuk

What do you get when you combine Music, Adventure and Orange? You get a festival, yes the Orange Festival of Adventure and Music , currently in its fifth year of inception. And it happens in deep inside Arunachal Pradesh’s Lower Dibang Valley.

Dambuk remains cut off from the for near four months of the year. But just when winter sets in, the Orange Festival of Adventure and Music sets adrenaline and music in motion to this quaint sleepy valley. The festival promises to combine adventure sports and music gigs in one platform. Indeed some big names has already created history here. This year’s line up includes international bands like Flypsyde, P.O.D., Big Mountain and Ping Pong Club.

“It’s an attempt by a dedicated team in a godforsaken place,” says Abu Tayeng, festival director and a native of Dambuk. Conceptualised in 2014 by Tayeng, OFAM is scheduled from December 12 to 15 this year.

Amitabh Sarma , co-founder of Eventours Travels and one of the core founder of Area51 Campsite, an offshoot of the company into adventure camping across different event venues in India says “ Sometimes all you need is an idea, an idea that can sustain for years to come. The whole idea of combining music, adventure and oranges is a novel one and this is what is going to keep it in the history books for a very very long time” . Indeed the very fact that getting into Dambuk is a challenge in itself, is what makes this festival , one of its kind. A bumpy SUV negotiating on rickety roads, tea estates, slush, jungle dirt trails and beautiful orange orchards makes its way to Dambuk.

The OFAM boasts to be India’s first adventure and music festival at one platform, and as per the organisers, this edition is going to be even more adventurous then before, with so many more adventure sports added to the list. Music lovers will also be contented as local, national as well as international artists/bands will be performing throughout the festival. Apart from ATV rides and dirt biking, this year the festival will also have scuba diving, para sailing, para motoring, white water rafting, zip lining, burma bridge, amongst other adventurous activities

Area51 Camping site at the Orange Festival for Adventure and Music in Dambuk promises to have the signature Area51 Camping mode. They have already made headlines with their experential camping across festivals like the Bacardi NH7 Weekender, Ziro Music Festival , Hornbill Festival etc. They have tied up with Townscript , BookUrEvent, AllEvents, HighApe, EventsHigh and GoEventz as the booking partners. With hygienic toilets, afterhours party, loaded kitchen and a host of other acrivities, Area51 seems like the place to be at the festival.
