Aaand second commission done for @hongduongn120 !

This time I wasn’t given any instructions, total artistic freedom, and this is what I did with it! Being that the OC in question, Flynn Luton, is an ex-soldier of WW1, and a weapon dealer to boot, I linked it to an Italian (although the OC is not Italian of course) war song: ‘La Guerra di Piero’, by Fabrizio De Andrè. There’s a verse where the protagonist finds himself about to shoot an enemy soldier: the scene I found most appropriate to depict, although I doubt Flynn will be as merciful.

Championship roundup: Aleksandar Mitrovic hits three as Fulham romp

Aleksandar Mitrovic took his Championship goal tally to 27 for the season after hitting a first-half hat-trick in Fulham’s 6-2 thrashing of Bristol City at Craven Cottage.

The win, which came on the back of the Cottagers’ 7-0 victory at Reading in midweek, ensured Marco Silva’s side took full advantage of Bournemouth’s earlier defeat at Luton to move top of the table.

The outcome was decided in a thrilling first half in which the visitors twice took the lead through Antoine Semenyo before reaching the interval three down following four Fulham goals in 14 minutes. Neeskens Kebano and Fabio Carvalho added to Mitrovic’s hat-trick with Kebano adding his second after the break to complete the victory. Silva’s side have now scored 64 goals in 25 matches – 20 more than any of their rivals.

Kal Naismith’s stunning goal in stoppage time secured Luton’s thrilling victory at Kenilworth Road. After leading 2-0 at the break and then seeing the Cherries hit back to level during the second period, it looked like the spoils would be shared until Naismith took aim from 20 yards.

Luton’s manager, Nathan Jones, said his side were “full value for our win … We weren’t categorically better than them, but I thought we were the more aggressive side. We created more problems, especially first half, and then we finished with real intent. It’s a wonderful way to win a game against a very, very, very good side.”

Joe Rothwell’s third goal of the season was enough to guide Blackburn to a 1-0 victory over struggling Cardiff and move them closer to the automatic promotion places. Tony Mowbray’s side held on for the points despite going down to 10 men when Ryan Nyambe picked up a second yellow card in the 76th minute.

Mowbray, whose side have taken 28 points from the last 30, played down the run of form, saying: “I don’t get excited because I know how tough this league is. The next game is always there ready to bite you on the backside. You can get trapped by looking too far ahead.”

A stoppage-time goal from Matt Crooks enabled Middlesbrough to come from behind to beat Reading 2-1 at the Riverside Stadium. Andy Carroll opened the scoring for the visitors after 67 minutes with a header before Crooks equalised in the 85th minute then headed home the winner late in the game. The result moved Boro into the play-off places, while Reading still hover above the relegation zone.

Lewis Grabban’s dramatic stoppage-time winner settled an entertaining contest at The Den as Nottingham Forest beat Millwall 1-0. Defeat was cruel on the hosts who were the better side for large periods of the first half. Forest were much improved after the interval, though, and had several chances before Grabban – against his old club – poked home from a yard out right at the end.

Swansea ended their three-game losing streak after Flynn Downes’ late goal rescued a 1-1 draw at Huddersfield.The visitors had fallen behind to Danel Sinani’s 15th-minute opener following a slow start to the game but they responded well, with Ryan Manning and Cyrus Christie both going close to a deserved equaliser.

The Welshmen then bossed the entire second half. Olivier Ntcham, Michael Obafemi and Manning all saw chances go begging before Downes turned home Korey Smith’s cross with 12 minutes to go.

Coventry revived their play-off challenge with a first win in seven league games as they thumped relegation battlers Peterborough 4-1. Captain Matt Godden struck twice as Mark Robins’ men enjoyed league success for the first time in more than two months with a fine showing at the Weston Homes Stadium.

A Tom Lawrence double earned battling Derby a 2-0 win at home to Sheffield United and lifted them off the bottom, boosting their hopes of pulling off a great escape. The Wales international left two defenders in his wake before sliding the ball past Wes Foderingham for the opening goal after 69 minutes, and sealed victory nine minutes later with a precise finish from the edge of the area. The win made it 13 points from their last five games for Derby, who are now just eight points from Reading in 21st place.

Preston missed the chance to move back into the top half as Scott Hogan’s late goal snatched a point for Birmingham in a 1-1 draw at Deepdale. Patrick Bauer’s instinctive first-half finish put Preston on course for a crucial three points, but Hogan popped up right at the end to seal a dramatic point for the away side.

In the first part of our 2015 Instagram fashion roundup we looked at items by Chloé, René Caovilla and Katy Rodriguez. Let’s check out several other amazing look she’s shared via her social media!

Gaga was in the middle of a song writing session when she decided to upload an adorable selfie with her pooch Asia. “A music night. I will smile for days and days with piggy writing songs”.

The caftan was crafted by Russian emerging designer Katya Kovtunovich. This is the Pink Panther from the Spring/Summer 2014 “Beach” collection [look #5].

Gaga met up with RedOne and Paul McCartney to record some new music.

She wore the Err Night floral maxi dress in “White Gats” by Flynn Skye. The beautiful 100% rayon dress features a tie neck, off-the-shoulder sleeves and a floor-length skirt with a slit at the back.

We’re moving on with the confection Gaga wore during Oscars 2015 rehearsals on February 21, 2015. 

The Italian-American singer posed in the Esad black lace dress with hip-high slit, high neck and strong shoulders from Michael Costello’s Fall/Winter 2015 collection.

Next we’re looking at two looks Gaga wore during American Horror Story Season 5 filmings. "trailer shit #ahs love this vintage GIVENCHY" she posted on September 5th while posing by her dressing trailer. 

As she said, Gaga is wearing an archive Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci piece. This ruffled semi-sheer patterned dress is from the Resort 2013 collection.

She also donned the red version of the Drew Morosa sunglasses from RetroSuperFuture’s Fall/Winter 2014 “Casa Nostra” collection.

Ok season update to see how this years Investment Portfolio is performing

Well there has been a lot happening since my last pre-season post in August. Brextemists working themselves into a frenzy at the lack of Positivity towards their pet project. The Daily Fail and the Torygraph are hellbent on exposing Saboteurs, Traitors and ‘miserable ‘people everywhere who have the audacity to think that on balance Brexit is a pretty shit idea. In the the USA the Narcissist Sociopath is sending out evermore bizarre Tweets exposing his total unfitness to govern. He took a beating in some recent local elections and I can’t wait to see how he reacts to the psychological pressure of the Russia investigation ramping up as his NSA pick General Flynn moves into the spotlight. Watch out for Senate election in Alabama in December. Republicans will probably win but they have handicapped themselves by endorsing an alleged child molester as their candidate.  Ok Football and as usual IceMan is a Premiership freezone so straight in with Championship where Derby County at 9/2 was my promotion pick. Fancy them to be in the shake up and hopefully go up via the play offs. After a shaky start they have shown good recent form and have slipped into a play off spot. Surprisingly they can be backed at 8/1 (ShitePrice). However I am quietly optimistic Derby can give us a good run for our money. League one we have Bradford at 9/2 currently 3/1 (IcePrice). They sit in a comfortable play off slot and had their form against poorer sides been more consistent they could be in an automatic promotion place. This position is performing in line with my expectations. League 2. In the past this division has been a shocker for me so it was a brave shout at the start of the season when I said I had a certainty this year. Well Luton Town do really look like a good thing. They sit on top of a league that has 3 automatic promotion places. Backed at 7/4 they are now 1/3 (IcePrice). Confidence is so high on Luton that I will advance some winnings to Mrs IceMan for the January Sales. She is gonna be proper serious about getting bargains so that I can I bring a suitcase worth of ‘savings’ to the Bhoy in America on my March visit.  Hope to get the Word on the street about Trump from the PA rust belt whilst I am there.

National League. Bit disappointing that Tranmere Rovers confidently backed at 11/8 have had a poor start to the season . Not enough goals and too many draws. Recent form has shown signs of improvement and they have started to move up the table. This is a tough league with only one automatic promotion slot. Tranmere currently sit 4 points outside the play offs and have drifted out to 9/2 (shite price). Not given up them and hope they can sneak into the frame. 

Scotland. My emotional interest in the Scottish Premiership relates to Celtic and as predicted they are set fair for another title. Financial interest in this league relates to second place where I have backed Aberdeen at 11/8 now 4/5 (IcePrice). In fact The 4/5 still looks great value as Aberdeen are 6 points clear of Rangers a team who seem woefully low on confidence. Expect Aberdeen to have a very comfortable margin at seasons end.

Championship went with Dundee United at 2/1 now 11/8 ( IcePrice ) . The Terrors sit on top of the table though it is a very competitive division . As I suggested at the outset this one could go to the wire as little to chose between Dundee United; St. Mirren and Livingston. I am cautiously optimistic but would not be backing them at their current trading price.

League one is playing out as expected. Anticipated it would be a match up between Raith and Ayr.  Ayr at 5/2 representing better value. They are top of the league and trade at 2/1 (IcePrice). A note of caution here is that Raith still remain favourites to win the league.

League two I backed Clyde at 6/1 each way to make top 3. They are having a total Stinker of a season and have drifted to 500/1 (yeah that is not a typo ) this is almost as bad as Orient last year. As mentioned in my pre-season post I was already having cold feet about this one before the season kicked off . I said that if I had delayed then I would have selected Stirling Albion at 12/1 who I regret to say are having a great season. Currently a point off the lead but with a game in hand. This shows that you can’t win them all which is why IceMan does not do accumulators.

Europa League. Forgot to flag up Milan last time . They spent massively pre season investing in some good players . I was happy to get 10/1 and really expected this price to tumble as they Pushed on. Sadly the team is taking time to gel and performances have not been anything special. Despite this they remain 10/1 but I will be pleasantly surprised if I collect on this one.

World Cup. I am on 150/1 outsiders Poland who following a successful qualification campaign are now 50/1 (IcePrice) ‘Dark Horses‘. To be honest I can’t see them winning. However I love having a tournament team at a massive price . Think they are seeded for the Groupings so if Lewandowski stays fit they might go quite deep in this tournament and offer a nice trade out opportunity after the group stages.

Alll is well that ends well for Argentina who made heavy work of qualifying so my 9/1 pick is now best price 8/1 (bit of an IcePrice). Would expect them to at least make the quarter final and give me a tournament interest now that both Irish teams failed to qualify.

Biits and bobs In the GAA we landed a Smacker when Galway won the Hurling championship at 4/1 (IcePrice) only downside was that it increased the popularity in Ireland of the Ed Sheeran ‘Oirish‘ song Galway Girl. As anticipated in the last post my outside Gaelic Football bet on Monaghan ended in a QF loss to eventual winners Dublin who as usual sadly beat my Dad's County of Mayo in the final.

In Tennis I successfully traded out a position on Elina Svitlova 80/1 (IcePrice) to win US open. I unloaded her when her price got down to 12/1 so made a small profit

Got an interest in next years 200 Guineas with Expert Eye at 6/1. Regret that he ran a shocker of a race in his final outing of the season and has drifted to 8/1 (ShitePrice). To be fair his run was too bad to be true and I am hoping he kicks on when fully fit next year. He will need to be 100% as there are some very serious rivals.

What’s New

I have taken a rare Golf position of 6/5 on USA to win the next Ryder Cup. Seems a skinny enough price but some people in the know assure me it will look great value come September next year. IceMan always got a good long game. Massive downside of this bet will be that the USA squad is normally the sporting wing of the Republican Party. Even the PG in chief will try to claim some reflected glory (if he has not resigned by then). On reflection I think I would rather lose.

I am following the markets on the King George Chase at Kempton on Boxing Day maybe my favourite racing day of the year. Last year I landed a spectacular 38/1 winner with Thistlecrack. He will hopefully go again this year but is coming back off a long injury lay off . Has a prep run very soon and trading at 4/1 for Boxing Day. Tempted very Tempted.

Finally I said at start of season that some of this years profits will go towards Kurdish Solidarity which will be needed as much as ever for Rojava reconstruction. In addition Trump and Erdogan in Turkey look set to sell the Kurds out. Who knew.

A peaceful life seems to never be a thing for a man like Flynn. A man of calm demeanor and a calculative mind, being born into a house of gunsmiths, he was expected to continue the family's tradition. But war, both in wider Europe and at his home island left him scarred, weary and directionless, and so he chased the American Dream. Wandering the continent as a traveling gunsmith and part-time hitman, drowning the memories of his experience in liquor, he eventually settled in at the city of St. Louis, where he opens shop serving people in need of firearms, legal or not. Through the numerous customers, he learned about the major players of organized crime in the city. He outwardly maintains neutrality, while his inner loyalty shifts and swerves, only staying true to his few friends. He knows doing work with mobsters is a dangerous thing, but his hands are stained long ago, and backing out is not a choice in his mind. Besides, this is America, and there are profits to be made.

When he's not manning the counter, working orders or out on business with his associates, he prefers reading, tinkering, sketching, photography, night strolling and cooking.

Flynn and Serafine, a history

The year was 1922, and Flynn Luton had just exited from a train in downtown New Orleans. It had been 10 months since he came to America and while he already has a lot of experiences in his travels, they would pale compared to what will happen next.

After what happened in New York City, Flynn had become a blip in the underworld, with words running far and wide. And a figure with power has picked up that the masked man is in his city, and they would reach out to commission him. The invite led Flynn into the bayou, where he met an unlikely pair of siblings whose fates would be intertwined between all three of them.

When they first met, both Flynn and Serafine didn't think highly of each other. After the introduction and briefing, Flynn thinks Serafine is unprofessional, loud, and brash. Serafine, meanwhile, thinks of him as just a thug, a relic of the Great War, broken and battered, only good at following orders. Nevertheless, they are convinced by the handler to work together.

At the time, Nicodeme and Serafine Savoy were still working for a small-time local crew. Not really questioning why they're being tasked with linking up with a freelancer before raiding one of their rival's safehouses, they waited at a cabin in the swamp along with their handler, waiting for this contact. What they didn't expect is a 6-foot-tall British Shorthair with a prosthetic mask.

A week of preparation followed, and the impression of both the siblings and Flynn for each other remained negative. Time and again, the veteran tried to make the Savoys to be more professional in their conduct, but they instead just continued to act like superstitious hoodlums. Nico and Serafine, meanwhile, because they don't understand the past of the man they're working with, keep treating him like an old, stuck-up man and do what they please except for the bare minimum amount of cooperation.

The papers would tell that on November 7th, a plantation mansion was burnt down due to an out-of-control kitchen fire and that there were no survivors. But the truth was that the mansion, and everyone in it, was destroyed in a raid, conducted by only 3 people. Through the raid, both the Savoys and Flynn came to respect each other for their skill and prowess. The siblings for their aggression and sheer awesome force, Flynn for his precision and tactical acumen. Like hammer and scalpel, in theory, they shouldn't have worked in tandem, but they did.

After the raid, the three would go on a couple more jobs together, while smoothing out whatever disagreements they have with each other before eventually becoming an extremely effective team. Unfortunately, Flynn's time in Lousiana was coming to an end and they gathered for a final drink before he had to catch the next train headed for Texas, leaving behind a short but fruitful relationship, and it could've ended at that, with the three going their separate ways, their short stint together only remains as a fond memory.

That was, until 1925. By sheer chance, both the Savoys and Flynn have settled down in the city of St. Louis, Missouri, completely unaware of each other then. The siblings were "recruited" by the Marigold gang, while Flynn started a gun shop, and eventually, an underground gunrunning operation, selling wares to all parties within the city. It was only a matter of time before the three were reunited by accident. The siblings heard of a new firearms store in town and wanted to check it out to see if they could have a new service point. They didn't expect the man behind the counter to be their old partner. Flynn invited them to stay for tea, and after recounting what happened in the time before the reunion, they agreed to keep contact with each other.

Their relationship started out simple, with cafe meetups and impromptu range days, courtesy of Flynn's shop. None of them knew about the other's illegal biddings, so they stayed on the surface as just a trio of genuine friends. That is until Flynn got a deal to supply off-the-books munitions to Marigold. And who just so happens to be the representative to receive the good but the Marigold Trio, Nicodeme & Serafine Savoy along with Mordecai Heller. Their secret life was revealed right then and there.

Soon, Flynn was introduced to the head of Marigold, Asa Sweet, and due to a previous agreement between Flynn and the head of the Lackadaisy gang, Atlas May, being asked to switch sides. Although he was hesitant to change his allegiance, Flynn nevertheless was hired once again as a freelancer, working with the Savoy siblings as their third in case the usual man, Mordecai, wasn't available.

As 1925 turned to 1926 and then 1927, the friendship between the three grew with each job and general interaction as Flynn got more and more involved with Marigold, while Serafine began to have feelings for Flynn, although he was oblivious to it. He has his own feelings for her too, but he thought that it would never come to be.

One night, Flynn was having trouble sleeping and decided to head to the roof of his building to contemplate his life. 6 bottles of beer in, looking at his old army cap, Flynn was startled by footstep noises. Serafine had come over, alone. They talked about how fate had led them to this point in time and reaffirming their friendship. Then Flynn looked up to the sky, reminiscing about his childhood. Seeing the stars in his eyes, Serafine decides to commit to it and pulls Flynn in for a kiss, his very first kiss ever. In that moment, they both knew that they were made for each other.

After that fateful night, they became a couple but decided to keep it secret for now. To the outside world, they still acted like best friends, but Nico suspects something more. He noticed that they were more close and more intimate with each other and decided to poke and prod into it for info about why they behaved like they did. The couple deflects his question for a time until (because her mind is on something else) after some back and forth, Serafine goes "Well, I still love you regardless". Nico, mouth gaped, has the final piece of the picture and then, still in shock, exits the building they're in to compose himself. Serafine shortly thereafter, realizes what she just said and chases him to try and explain it with Flynn following.

Now the secret was out, at least to Nicodeme, and the couple could at least be more open about it when he was around. As of 1927, they have no intention of advancing their relationship beyond its current state, but whatever the future brings, they are ready to face it, together.

So, Flynn's lore dump time

The 4th generation of his family trade, Flynn James Luton was born in 1893 in Dublin, Ireland to Cathal Luton, a weaponsmith, and Martha Cassidy-Luton along with his younger brother, Thomas. He enjoyed a relatively quiet childhood with his father teaching him about the art of gunsmithing, hoping for him to follow in his forefather's footsteps. However, he was distant to Flynn otherwise due to the nature of his work. But his mother's death from pneumonia when he was 17 drove him into a deep depression and that led him to join the British Army in the hopes of getting a purpose in life. He would be trained as an armorer and ascend to the rank of Corporal before the outbreak of the Great War. He would then be transferred to the Royal Dublin Fusiliers regiment, 16th (Irish) Division, and be shipped to France.

He would be fortunate to survive the war, although he would not speak much about his experiences. The nature of the 16th Division, mostly comprised of Irish Volunteers, would mean that Flynn would begin having nationalistic thoughts and wishing for Irish independence in his time with the unit. During the Battle of Passchendaele, a German artillery shell landed near his position, the resulting shrapnel cutting off half of his jaw and taking away his nose, hospitalizing him for 3 months and requiring him to wear a prosthetic mask from there on. After the Armistice, Flynn would be discharged with the rank of Sergeant Major, disfigured, suffering from shellshock, and returned to an Ireland teetering on the brink of war. War did break out, the Irish War of Independence, and Flynn would fight in it on the side of the Volunteers, renamed the Irish Republican Army. With the Anglo-Irish Treaty and the war's end, Flynn is one of many who thought the treaty went against what they had fought for. But rather than fighting in the upcoming Irish Civil War, Flynn was just tired of war, and therefore in late 1921, he boarded a ship headed for America, determined to start again. 

When he disembarked in Boston in January 1922, he initially wanted to settle down, but after a week's stay, he realized that the city wasn't for him. With little other choice, Flynn decided to take to the roads and wander through the Continental United States, trading his skills for a living, hoping to find a suitable place to settle down and to find himself and his purpose again. The journey would take him 3 years, going through 25 major cities and countless small towns from the East Coast to the Pacific Northwest. His drifting days would be filled with lessons, memories, experiences, and a few bodies, from a bar crawl in San Francisco, a duel leading to a carjacking in El Paso, an encounter with a death cult in rural Montana, and the most notable, a hit job in New Orleans that spiraled into a massive assault on a mansion compound, where he would first meet the siblings Nicodeme and Serafine Savoy. The assault by the three would be the start of a deep friendship that would continue to the present day.

Arriving at St. Louis in early 1925, the atmosphere convinced him that this was the place, and using the funds he had saved throughout the years, he bought a building in the city's downtown and founded Luton's Gunsmithing and Sporting Goods. In this gun store, he would sell both legal firearms, and later in his basement, illegal weapons. Through his customers, he heard of the main criminal organizations in the city, Lackadaisy and Marigold. His first time in the Lackadaisy Speakeasy doesn't go well, with a drunk patron mocking his appearance, eventually leading to a brawl. When the dusk settles, the patron is thrown out and Flynn is cared for by the staff, who introduces him to the proprietor, Atlas May. Atlas has known of Flynn since he opened his shop, and offers a partnership in which Flynn would become the gang's unofficial main armorer, while Atlas would use his contacts to connect Flynn to more products and customers. This partnership would continue after Atlas's death, although Flynn then decided to stay neutral in the rivalry between Lackadaisy and the new kingfish of the city, the Marigold gang. His reunion with the Savoys does come as a surprise, but a welcoming one nonetheless, with the siblings inviting him to their jobs, explaining the matter to their boss, Asa Sweet, as an old freelance partner. He has been offered to join the Marigold gang, a decision he still hasn’t fully made. Nevertheless, his business is still running smoothly, though, with the simmering situation in the city's underground, he's preparing himself for the next big thing that will be happening...

He does love a good Western novel, he used to read it all the time when he was a boy. He also enjoys the cold, which reminds him of home. A little tidbit about his family. More specifically, about his little brother, Thomas Luton. He's 5 years younger, was a prankster and a devil, and has a clearer mind than Flynn because he decided to pursue higher education instead of joining the Army like his older bro. By 1927, he is an assistant to a physicist in Cambridge with ambitions to become one himself.
