Interestingly enough, Aziraphale was displayed as the "Naughty" animal for the month after he bit a child who tried to fend him off after he accosted him for his biscuit. He denies this happening, of course.
Am I any good at drawing people or shading? No. Am I actively working on improving my skills? Also no.
Enjoy another comic from my Aussie!Omens AU! I like to think that Crowley is only well behaved in front of children so the staff use that to their advantage to perform regular health checks on him while giving talks on conservation to the school groups that regularly visit Fallen Angels Wildlife Sanctuary.
Inspired by the Penguin of the Month from the National Aquarium of New Zealand.

Inspired by @mrghostrat to add some good old fashioned Aussie flair to the boys! Aziraphale as a Quokka is done to death I KNOW stop yelling. But to try and do something a bit different for Crowley I decided to go with the Grey-Headed Flying Fox, the goodest winged boi to ever exist. They can be intimidating with their large wingspan and bat-like appearance, but they're just big sky puppies, really, which I thought suited Crowley really well! They're also massive nuisances which I thought suited Crowley even more.
I've been picking up my pencils again for the first time in years so I hope to keep improving, I'm loving Aussie!Omens!
Thank you Ghost Rat for the continued inspiration to get back into art <3

They say that if you indulge in a treat from the outdoor café at Fallen Angels Wildlife Sanctuary, you might be accosted by a quokka inexplicably wearing a bowtie and smiling at you despite being a bit of a bastard. This quokka, named Aziraphale by the staff, is quick to rummage through any bags left unattended by visitors in hope for a tasty morsel or three, and never shows any remorse when caught by one of his carers. You'll usually find him shadowed by a flying fox with damaged wings and a permanent scowl. When asked why the flying fox seems to stalk the quokka, the staff will shrug and say "That's just Crowley, he's decided his mission in life is to follow Aziraphale around and cause us nearly as much trouble as him. We don't know why; it's just ineffable."
Another addition to my Aussie!Omens AU after many months of getting settled in a new place! I'm taking great liberties with how an Australian wildlife sanctuary actually operates, as you would never find the wildlife actually free-roaming near a cafe where guests can touch them and give them human food freely (at least not in any reputable place) so let's just pretend there are never any health issues caused by Aziraphale thieving pastries from unsuspecting visitors.

WIP - "The Fall" Comic
Rough start on this comic that was floating about in my brain while being balls deep in Aussie!Omens hyper fixation. Way too ambitious for my current digital painting skill level but hey, hyper fixations aren't here to promote patience. I was thinking about how Flying Foxes in Australia have been historically persecuted and slaughtered for simply being what they are. They eat fruit and make lots of mess, and a lot of people thought they deserved death for that, despite the fact that we as humans are the ones moving into their homes and territories. I thought it sounded a lot like Crowley's fall, and how we can demonize certain species just for being themselves. So I wanted to recreate Crowley's fall showing a native animal that has been persecuted (Flying Foxes) and a native animal that is loved and adored worldwide (Quokka's) and how that can be a mirror for angels/demons. I shall keep practicing and adding to this until I can call it finished! I'd love to write a poem or something to accompany it too. Would love to hear your thoughts on it so far!

"Dream about whatever it is that you like best, my dear."
Aziraphale enjoying a cup of (apparently quokka-safe?) tea while Crowley does his usual trick of sleeping at all times of day in all kinds of odd places.
Been a hot minute since I did another Aussie!Omens piece, moving interstate in Australia is a lot - it's a damn big country when you think about it!

Crowley: Really Angel, wearing a bowtie the humans gave you?
Aziraphale: Tartan's stylish!
@ineffable-hyperfixation gave me the idea that Azi could be a resident of a wildlife sanctuary and got his bowtie from his carers (who I am thinking would definitely be Newt and Anathema). After Crowley is rescued after taking a shotgun to his wings he is still very distrustful of humans, but at least he's got access to all the yum yums a spoiled flying fox could want!
Share your ideas and headcanons for Aussie!Omens, I love to hear them to help build this little AU!

Sobbing, crying, throwing myself into the void after finding out about this rescued Leucistic Grey-Headed Flying Fox, which would be perfect Starmaker alter ego to my Grey-Headed Flying Fox Crowley.
The universe is Good Omens coded I can't be told otherwise.

Some more Aussie!Omens sketching to try and develop a more organic style, so they all look a bit different! Definitely prefer the cuter, larger nosed Quokka Aziraphales!
Loving the unintentionally perfect dynamic of the upside-down Flying Fox Crowleys to the upright Azi's! Pretend I did that on purpose.
