Newest DIL pullover I started (because I want all the sweaters). I'm calling it my Fluffy Pumpkin Sweater, and I absolutely cannot wait to be a fluffy pumpkin 😍🧡🎃

I had to do this sweater first to get an idea of how to size this sweater, because frogging dual-stranded work (especially when the fibres felt) is the worst.

7. Buying them a sweater from this prompt list

The city looks different since the last time he’s been here. He tends to stay at the house, more often than not, entertaining himself and Rose when he can.

He gardens too, Chris buying him whatever he can when Leon had mentioned how he liked doing it, offhandedly. Now, the living room looks like one of the Scozai lab’s experiments, one that Luis had jokingly called a bio-bomb after it had gone off out of nowhere, rendering one of the labs useless for a week.

The car comes to a stop and the two of them get out. Leon’s bundled up in one of Chris’s jackets, living in them more as the seasons become colder. His tail is curled up and over his shoulder, wrapping around his front and tip tapping against the small of his back. It’s more comfortable than curling around his own leg, with how it will tense and untense.

Chris lets him grab onto his hand as they start to walk, knowing he’s a little too used to his tail holding onto some part of him when they’re together. He’s watching the streets curiously, seeing different decorations and colors. Little plastic bats decorate stalls, white sheets are made into ghosts, and carved pumpkins sit in front of some store entrances.

Chris leads him past all of this, and now Leon’s getting curious.

“Where are we going?” he asks, curious. He trusts Chris, think’s he has ever since he met him, on some level. But he was bundled up and told they were heading out with not much of an explanation.

Chris laughs a little bit, a smile on his face as he glances at Leon. “Surprised it took you this long to ask.”

Leon huffs, rolling his eyes. Opens his mouth to say something in response when they end up in front of a cozy looking shop, Chris opening the door for him.

It’s small, but full of coats, pullovers, and jackets. Leon lights up, making a happy clicking sound, letting go of Chris’s hand to feel one of the fluffier sweaters. Oh, it’s soft.

Chris laughs again, motioning to the store. “Take your pick. That way you stop stealing mine.” It’s fond, though, insanely so. Leon tries to suppress the click that wants to come out, equally fond.

So, Leon does. Finds that he likes the jackets made of the same fluffy material as the first one best, hands brushing against soft fabric. Chris doesn’t hover, but he does stay close, telling Leon small things. Helping him translate words on the tags, the two of them bickering back and forth over the differences in jackets versus pullovers. (“Why does it matter so much?” “It just does, Leon, c’mon. You wanna learn about Earth, yeah?” said with a laugh, showing that it wasn’t really that serious.)

In the end, he chooses one that’s navy blue. The color is almost the same as his eyes and there’s little strands of silver in it, making it shimmer a little when the light hits it right. Chris smiles knowingly, and they head over to pay.

He refuses to wear it until it’s washed. It smells new, it smells different. It’s not home.

Chris laughs when he articulates as much to him, tossing it in the laundry to wash with other things. Lets Leon drag him to the couch soon after, to leech warmth off of him. Tail freed from the confines of the shirt, wrapping around Chris’s wrist loosely and he curls up next to him.

They stay like that for a long time, Leon purring away unconsciously, until he falls asleep, content.

Arcturus: The reason I have this prompt. September did not even arrive and he is already talking about christmas! Already has presents for everyone he knows. But only he can talk about the festive season, because if anyone else makes a comment about it, he will reply: "It's still far away, shouldn't we concentrate on other things first?" WHY DOES HE ALREADY SMELL LIKE CINNAMON?! He also makes you knitted pullovers to keep you warm! And gloves! If you walk in on him knitting, he will start talking about all different types of wool.

Alpheratz: Comes late to classes with a pumpkin spice latte in hands. Still falls asleep though. He is famous for feeding birds sunflower seeds now, and he takes care of hibernating hedgehogs. May or may not use this season to wear turtlenecks, which he knows he looks amazing in. Probably uses the cold wind as an excuse to hold your hand. Actually is awake for a good amount in the beginning of autumn, and really productive. But not for long.

Pollux: How often do you step on a leaf only to discover that it is not crunchy? That is him every step. Autumn disappoints him, but he WILL carve pumpkins and Arcturus will make soup or fries out of it. Decorates his room for every coming holiday and has suiting snacks as well! Barely goes outside though, because he is always cold. Use this wisely, because this is your time to cuddle in a blanket with him.

Sirius: You will find him gathering a lot of things. From nuts to dry leaves to anything else nature dropped. Of course it only is his duty as guide sorcerer, gather materials for class projects. But you know him. He does it because he enjoys being outside and being stunning in the golden autumn light. His mischief finds a more flirtatious tone and he will not shy from giving you forehead kisses. Avoids garden work like the plaque though.

Spica: Sleeps even less than usually and tries to stay awake, because it feels like time is rushing by. Gets irritated easily, but he manages to keep his frustration to himself. The guide comitee forces him to calm down and carve a pumpkin with them and luckily it helps to ease him. There was a photo shooting of him among red and orange leaves! And do not forget that he writes poems in this season! Mostly romantic or just anything to sort his mind!

Vega: The nostalgia this boy feels is enormous. All those memories that he barely manages to visualize or explain flood his mind and he will ramble about it for eternity. At least he has you, the one who shares similar experiences from Earth and you can relate to him. In evenings, he likes wearing fluffy blue socks to keep his feet warm and drinks tea. His toes wiggle when he is content in the warmth he feels, but no one would believe you if you said that out loud. Has a bird feeder outside his bedroom window, but never puts anything inside (because you do not want to wake up with a whale looking through your window for food).

“alright so one cup of butter, 3/4 cup of sugar, and one teaspoon of vanilla extract--got it! Into the mixer you go, fellas,” you exclaimed while dumping the ingredients into your stand mixer. you cranked up the speed to level three, allowing the ingredients to become light and fluffy, just like the recipe called for. 

you, unlike every other teenager over summer, had finished your daily chores very early and had a large amount of time left over. your parents were out working and you took it into your hands to make sure their housework was less of a hassle when they got home. so, after doing your laundry, sweeping the apartment, and other types of household duties, it was natural to feel hungry. 

walking into the kitchen, you started getting out the ingredients and kitchen utensils needed to create a perfect snack: homemade chocolate chip cookies. you knew the recipe by heart and could pretty much make them with your eyes completely closed, but for the safety of yourself and of your neighbors, you’ll keep them open for now. placing your wireless speaker in a corner of the marbled counter, you connected your music and started playing Movies by Circa Waves, your current favorite. you gathered up the ingredients and began to measure each of them thoroughly, careful not to spill flour on your just cleaned tile floor. 

“into the mixer you go, fellas.” one of your hands were on the counter while the other was on the speed lever, offering you control of how fast the mixer should go. as soon as you had turned it off, you heard a knock on your door, followed by a faint “hey, mrs. dominguez, nice to see you!” 

you raised your voice high enough to be audible over the music and said, “it’s open, pete!” the door swung open a few seconds later to reveal your boyfriend in his midtown pullover and some dark khakis. you smiled at him and as did he, dropping his phone on the couch before walking over to where you were standing in the kitchen. 

“hey, pumpkin whatcha doing?”

“I’m baking our favorite cookies, wanna help?” you turned your head to the right, hands still handling ingredients, and pressed a kiss to peter’s lips as he was now standing next to you. he quickly nodded, loving when you baked sweets. “great, can you measure out three cups of flour? just pour it into that clear mixing bowl once you’re done,” you instructed. peter did as he was told and eventually, he was pouring the dry ingredients into the wet ones as you continued to control the speed. 

the chocolate chips were added last and you could not pass down the opportunity to aim and throw chocolate chips into peter’s mouth to see if he could catch them. you both took turns doing it, throwing your hands up in the air and grinning childishly while yelling “yes! I did it, peter, did you see that!” whenever you caught a small chip in your mouth.

once the cookie dough balls were made, which was a messy process mostly because peter wanted to see if the dough would stick to the ceiling, you placed them on the cookie sheet and into the oven they went. sighing contently, you leaned in to give peter a proper welcome. your hands found their way around his torso while his around your shoulders and back, him placing small kisses to the top of your head. you shifted your head to face him while he peered down at you sweetly. “thanks for your help, sugar,” you grinned and gave him a small wink.

at your small, corny joke, peter let out a hearty chuckle, pulling away to ruffle your hair. “you, babe, are an extremely funny human being. And I, your sugar, am completely and utterly in love with you.”

you grabbed his hands which had fallen from your hair and pulled them gently to meet your soft lips, placing a gentle peck to the back of both of them. “and I am completely and utterly in love with you too, sunshine,” you replied, grin tugging on the edge of your lips. 

you both embraced each other once again and then briefly spoke about each other’s day, pulling apart once the timer had gone off and it was time to take the cookies out of the oven. peter helped you take the tray out and place the warm cookies onto a decorative plate while you washed the dishes. he later joined you and aided in drying the utensils used and putting them away. after everything was cleaned up, you turned off your speaker which was still softly playing music and grabbed the plate of cookies, heading over to your couch with peter walking side by side with you. he moved his phone that he had previously thrown onto the couch and put it on the coffee table in front of you. 

snuggling in, you both agreed on a funny comedy movie and began snacking on the warm and delicious confections, peter’s arm draped slightly over your shoulder. it was an an amazing and loving moment, and neither of you would ever change it for anything else. after all, you both were completely and utterly in love with each other.
