for people who are concerned about h5n1, i found an X account that seems pretty legitimate (as far as i know), FluAlert, who posts data, research, and updates in a digestible format irt H5N1 and the current outbreak with the intent clearly being to inform rather than induce panic or fear (like the people claiming h2h transmission is already happening despite us not having enough information to say that's the case!)

but i want to say that H5N1 is still a pretty serious concern even if h2h transmission isn't happening (there is an outbreak in cambodia with the cases of exposure i've seen being related to dead chickens), so it's probably best to avoid interacting with birds or farm animals (without protection), and also please don't drink raw milk or consume raw or undercooked meat lol

masking right now is a good idea regardless of h2h transmission not being confirmed since the covid pandemic is surging again
