This snippet is from an original novel I’ve been working on!!!! It doesn’t even have a title and lord knows when I’ll get it finished/edited/posted/published, but I’m so excited about it!

He remembered that first, frigid gust of northern air hitting him full-on as he came up from below deck. Tugging the collar of his coat higher, he realized his worst nightmare had come true. All those years spent soaking up the sun on the beaches of the Republic had made him soft. He wasn't used to the cold anymore, his body longing to fold in on itself for warmth.
