TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU. In Wild Life we were able to see the way Gem, with her charisma, tells stories about others making them seem worst than her in comparison. She's an unreliable narrator in my opinion, as in even if you watch her pov she openly admits that the makes up stories about others to create drama LMAO. And to Pearl, even though I'm sure she actually loves and cares about her, she makes her finale in the prior season seem way bigger than it was, not because it wasn't, but bc she clearly doesn't care about it anymore. We all saw how "obsessed" Pearl was with Gem this season, following her everywhere asking for forgiveness, or to just battle it out to make amends lol, and if Gem told her the truth and forgive her from the beggining, she would have just dropped it instantly. But no, she played with her the entire season to keep her on her side (she was obviously trying to kill her but I mean that she made sure to stay in Pearl's mind at all times). SO YEAH, Gem is in fact not great in Life Series, but who is tho? They're all trying to kill each other, we just need to accept our faves are the worst as well LMAO like I love the way Gem and plays her character in Life Series, and I love the dynamic she has with Pearl and all the drama that insues, but their relationship in the series isn't healty at all, she's pushing her buttons all the time making her suffer enough to come back for more after that.

you ever think about shiny duo too much and realize how Gem was actually quite hostile to Pearl i feel like a lot of people make out Gem to be the victim, how Pearl was hostile to her. honestly, i love gem so much, she is one of my favorite creators, but she was acting pretty hostile to Pearl in Secret Life. Her task was to attack Pearl until she put her shield up Gem could have attacked pearl once, seen she didn't use her shield, adn try again, peprhaps try with a different weapon but no, Gem chased Pearl until she used her shield, she kept chasing and attacking Pearl until she died. She kept antagonizing Pearl. Which I think is partially why Pearl decided to side with Scar and 2v1 Gem in the finale, because in Pearl's eyes, Scar never tried to outright chase her down adn kill her like Gem did. And in Wild Life, Pearl might have thought Gem was antagonizing her even more by taking so long to forgive Pearl, as if Pearl as the problem for killing Gem. idk, this might just be me overthinking everything. This whole dilema could've easily been solved if Pearl activated her singular brain cell and put up her shield lol.
