Been a while since I made a wreath and I quite missed their elegance and simplicity 😋 And since I chose Cherry Blossoms as theme for this month... how could I actually do without one? I actually wanted to ask you guys if you know any good tutorials/classes/tips on how to draw florals realistically. As I mentioned in other posts, my boyfriend is a fan of Cherry Blossoms so I wanted to paint something more elaborate for our new home 🌸 It's a project I will definitely focus on once we are done with the important and heavy stuff. I'm in love with this cheap Khadi paper sketchbook, did I mention that already? 😋 My boyfriend loves Cherry branches, so I thought why not indulge him? He's been planning and scheming every detail related to our new house and I can't help but admit how lucky I am to have a partner so engaged in our future and in our well being. It's also new for me to let go of control, ever since I was 19 I was pretty much on my own and taking my own decisions... and not really sharing much of my burdens with anyone. The downside of all that freedom was that I was alone almost always when I was going through a rough patch. Now he's here, he doesn't always know what to say or do, but you see how much he cares and it makes whatever is putting you down less important and less painful. So, to honor his beautiful influence on me, and his birth month, I'm going to go with a Cherry theme for August. Let's talk about experimental artwork and challenging your art style 🌟 I'm at a stage where I start to like doing trials and changing up the way I approach drawing and painting especially. Currently I love to play with juxtaposition and light gradual washes in my abstract florals. At the other end of the spectrum, I'm starting to enjoy portraits more and more, especially when I can add a tad of fantasy to them and tell a story. I realize my feed will probably look confusing for a while, and I'm okay with that. Experimental work is probably the one thing that makes me feel confident that one day I might call myself an artist. And it's part of the journey to a home I never knew I had.
